Concert Band - Grade 5 SKU: BT.DHP-1012708-040 Composed by Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. The Great Classics. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2001. De Haske Publications #DHP 1012708-040. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1012708-040). Rimsky-Korsakov composed his three greatest orchestral works over a short period: he completed Capriccio Espagnol in 1887, and he composed Russian Easter Overture in 1888, simultaneously with the symphonic suite Scheherazade. Russian Easter Overture is a magnificent overture in a single movement that was dedicated to the composers Borodin and Moussorgsky. Several hymns of the Russian Orthodox Church create a characteristic atmosphere. Arranger Tohru Takahashi has made the sound even more colourful by using several mallet percussion instruments.
$196.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-0950662-140 Composed by Jan de Haan. Inspiration Series. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 1995. 72 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 0950662-140. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-0950662-140). 9x12 inches.
$45.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-1216343-010 Composed by Jan Van der Roost. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2021. De Haske Publications #DHP 1216343-010. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1216343-010). English-German-French-Dutch. This short but solemn overture was written on the occasion of the 110th jubilee of Harmonie Hautcharage, Luxembourg. It is an homage to Jean-Paul Frisch and his son Gérard (the present conductor), who each have been conducting theensemble for many years. Under their leadership, the band has developed and improved remarkably. The very first musical theme, presented during the introduction of this little overture, is based on the letters hidden in the namesJean-Paul and Gérard Frisch (in which h is considered b as it is in German), thus aiming the spotlight on both key figures in the history of Harmonie Hautcharage. After the rather stately intro, the allegro is more joyful andlighthearted, thus depicting the optimism of the many young players of the band. The end is exciting and energetic: it radiates positivity and belief in the future.
$137.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

The editors have recently identified numerous carelessly edited places in the last critical edition by referring to additional sources. The greatest changes relate to the overture; for the new edition, no fewer than twenty different autograph manuscripts have been consulted. A detailed appendix containing alternative vocal parts, advice on ornamentation and compositions by Rossini significant in the performance history of the opera complete the volume. A 420-page Critical Commentary is published separately. With this, a critical edition is now available to interpreters, enabling them to perform Rossini's ,,Barber of Sevillewith the greatest possible confidence in the accuracy of the musical material. The performance material is available on hire, and a vocal score will be published at the end of 2009. Through 1829 Rossini was an extraordinarily prolific composer of operas, comic, serious, and semiserious, in Italian and French, as well as of a great deal of vocal and instrumental music. He composed sacred music, vocal treatises, cantatas. Then, for many different reasons, he wrote very little music for more than twentyfive years, if we except some songs and the ' Stabat Mater' . Only after he left Italy definitively for Paris in 1855 did he find his voice again. Between 1857 and 1868 a fresh group of masterpieces issued from his pen, the so-called ' Peches de vieillesse' (Sins of Old Age), including chamber music, songs, and the 'Petite Messe Solennelle'. Philip Gossett, General Editor of Works of Gioachino Rossini, is the Robert W. Reneker Distinguished Service Professor at The University of Chicago and a professordi chiara famaat the University of RomeLa Sapienza. He is also general editor of The Works of Giuseppe Verdi. Barenreiter in cooperation with the Center for Italian Opera Studies at The University of Chicago will publish ten volumes in the series Works of Gioachino Rossini, in critical editions, during the period 2007-2011. These are all volumes that were not issued in theEdizione critica delle opere di Gioachino Rossini.
