Volume 15 reveals a largely unknown treasure of the romantic song for voice with piano accompaniment in which his complete 100 solo songs with opus numbers are united in one collection. The musical spectrum ranges from the naive-witty Kinderlieder op. 152 to the highly dramatic setting of Des Madchens Klage op. 57,7 from Schiller's Wallenstein. Among the authors of these poems Rheinberger's scarcely-known contemporaries are represented, just as are the great names of German literature, including Goethe, Eichendorff, and Scheffel. English and Italian poets are also represented (Burns, Moore, Petrarca, Savonarola).

In 1961, a diverse group of student activists organized a movement called Freedom Riders to challenge racial segregation in Southern states. Their strategy was to ride busses into cities with segregation laws and deliberately break them. For instance, white students would use colored only restrooms, while black students would sit at white only food counters. The hope was that, when confronted by police, the federal government would be forced to step in and defend the students' constitutional rights. On many occasions, these demonstrations were met with violent behavior from locals, including beatings and a firebombing. Ultimately, these Freedom Riders helped lead to the abolishment of segregation by bringing national attention to the injustices of segregation. While touring, the Freedom Riders would collectively perform songs with messages about freedom and justice. One participant, African -American preacher Rev. Robert Wesby, reimagined the lyrics of the hymn Woke Up this Mornin' by replacing the name Jesus with freedom in each refrain. This version of the hymn went on to become a powerful symbol of the American civil rights movement.

On June 13, 2010 the capsule from the Hayabusa satellite successfully returned to earth after enduring a grueling six billion kilometer, seven year journey to retrieve samples from the Hayabusa meteor. Composer Satoshi Yagisawa was asked to write a piece to commemorate this momentous occasion. Fanfare - HAYABUSA’s premiere was so successful that the piece was performed a second time in response to the audience’s standing ovation. Out of this World!

Op 13 juni 2010 keerde de ruimtecapsule van de ruimtesonde Hayabusa terug op aarde. Dit was na een bijzondere reis waarbij ze onder moeilijke omstandigheden bodemmonsters had genomen van de meteoriet Hayabusa. De reis had zeven jaargeduurd en er was zes miljard kilometer afgelegd! De componist Satoshi Yagisawa kreeg de opdracht een werk te schrijven ter herinnering aan deze succesvolle missie. Na de première werd Fanfare HAYABUSA op wens van het publiek onderstaande ovatie nog een keer gespeeld.

Die Kapsel der Raumsonde Hayabusa kehrte am 13. Juni 2010 zur Erde zurück - nachdem sie unter diversen Schwierigkeiten Bodenproben vom Meteoriten Hayabusa gesammelt und eine siebenjährige Reise von sechs Milliarden Kilometern zurückgelegt hatte! Der Komponist Satoshi Yagisawa wurde gebeten, ein Stück zur Erinnerung an die erfolgreiche Mission, zu schreiben. Nach der Premiere wurde Fanfare - HAYABUSA auf Wunsch des Publikums noch einmal als Zugabe unter stehenden Ovationen wiederholt.

Satoshi Yagisawa a été sollicité afin de composer une pièce célébrant le succès de la mission. Fanfare - HAYABUSA provoqua un tel engouement lors de sa création que l’orchestre dut le rejouer une nouvelle fois, sous un tonnerre d’applaudissements.

Lanciata nello spazio nel 2003, è atterrata su un asteroide due anni più tardi per raccogliere campioni di roccia. Henryk Wieniawski, die werd geboren in 1835 te Lublin in Polen, was een wonderkind op de viool. Toen hij acht jaar oud was, werd hij al toegelaten tot het conservatorium van Parijs en op twaalfjarige leeftijd sloot hij met vlag enwimpel zijn studie af. Als vermaard vioolvirtuoos leidde hij een zwervend bestaan. Ook als componist van briljante vioolmuziek was hij succesvol, hoewel de omvang van zijn oeuvre tamelijk beperkt is gebleven. Toen hij 25 jaar oudwas, schreef Wieniawski zijn Légende voor viool en orkest. In dit arrangement voor harmonieorkest is de solorol toebedeeld aan de klarinet. De solist kan zijn of haar technische vaardigheden en muzikaliteit volop etaleren

Der Pole Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880) war ein musikalisches Wunderkind und später ein berühmter Geigenvirtuose und Komponist einiger Werke. Im Alter von 25 Jahren schrieb er Légende für Violine und Orchester. In dieser Blasorchesterbearbeitung übernimmt die Klarinette die Solostimme. Eine schöne Gelegenheit für den Solisten/die Solistin, mit Technik und Musikalität zu glänzen!

Henryk Wieniawski (né en 1835 Lublin en Pologne, et mort Moscou en 1880) fut un jeune prodige du violon. l’ ge de huit ans, il est admis au conservatoire de Paris. Quatre ans plus tard, il y conclut brillamment son parcours musical. Sa carrière d’illustre virtuose du violon lui fait parcourir le monde sa vie durant. Henryk Wieniawski a également révélé un indéniable talent de compositeur, mais son œuvre essentiellement consacrée au violon reste néanmoins limitée. En 1859, il compose la Légende en Sol mineur pour Violon et Orchestre Op. 17. Dans cette version pour Orchestre d’Harmonie, Wil van der Beek confie la partie soliste la clarinette. L’instrumentiste peutpleinement mettre en valeur ses aptitudes techniques et sa musicalité.
