| Mass for Our Lady - Full Score GIA Publications
Assembly, SATB choir, descant, cantor, priest or Presider or Narrator, keyboard ...(+)
Assembly, SATB choir, descant, cantor, priest or Presider or Narrator, keyboard accompaniment, guitar, C instrument, handbells, string trio, trombone, trumpet SKU: GI.G-018120 Composed by Karen Schneider Kirner and Steven C. Warner. Sacred. Full score. With guitar chord names. GIA Publications #018120. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-018120). UPC: 641151071350. Growing in popularity across the United States, Mass for Our Lady is a worthy and dignified setting for use at any Sunday Mass. Its melodies are intuitive and assemblies learn the setting quite quickly and easily. Warner and Kirner have joined forces and created a setting that is simple and regal at the same time. More and more parish music directors are ordering this Mass setting and finding their parishioners singing it with vigor. Arranged for SATB choir, cantor, and assembly, the solid and satisfying keyboard parts can be augmented with guitar, string trio, C instrument, and handbells. Mass for Our Lady is proving adaptable in hundreds of parishes, especially those that have access to the additional instruments, specifically on festive occasions like Easter and Christmas, and the seasons and feasts that call for a setting that soars! Parish musicians tell us that it is appropriate in many pastoral settings, from that early Sunday morning Mass with keyboard and cantor to the principal Sunday Mass when all the “bells and whistles†are put to use. Highlights: Intuitive melodies that assemblies learn quickly and easily. A simple yet regal setting. Greatly adaptable—appropriate for Mass with keyboard and cantor and ideal for principal Sunday Mass with the addition of guitar, string trio, C instrument, and handbells. A setting that truly soars during festive occasions like Easter and Christmas. $15.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks

SATB, S&T soloists & Chamber Orchestra SKU: SU.80209801 For SATB, S&T ...(+)
SATB, S&T soloists & Chamber Orchestra SKU: SU.80209801 For SATB, S&T soloists & Chamber Orchestra. Composed by Daniel E. Gawthrop. Vocal/Choral, Sacred Choral. A cappella. Choral Score. Subito Music Corporation #80209801. Published by Subito Music Corporation (SU.80209801). Suitable for concert or worship (esp. All Saints) 1111; 2221; timp, perc, hp, cel; stgs Duration: 30'15 Text: adapted from the New Testament by Jane Griner Published by: Dunstan House Also available for sale: Two churches, one Presbyterian, one Methodist, located in two adjacent states, wanted to commission a major work for chorus and orchestra to use in a memorial service held annually near the feast of All Saints, but felt that, considering the costs involved in hiring an orchestra for the performance, they couldn’t also afford the commissioning fee which an extended work would necessitate. Composer Daniel E. Gawthrop put the two directors in touch with each other, and a joint commission was conceived. Originally, the plan called for two completely separate premières, one at each church, but as the directors consulted on musical matters they decided that it would add an element of ecumenism and outreach to the project if they joined the two choirs together for both performances. Accordingly, on the first of the two Sundays the South Carolina Presbyterians joined the North Carolina Methodists in their Sunday morning services to sing the première of Behold This Mystery. On the following Sunday the travel was reversed for the second première. The involved choirs, congregations, clergy and directors all declared the project a triumph. Further performances followed, and the piece has now earned a place in the small but distinguished category called Twentieth Century Extended Works for Chorus and Orchestra Which Have Received More Than One Performance. Behold This Mystery is suitable anywhere that you might program a requiem, e.g., either in concert or within the context of a worship service. It lasts about 27 minutes in performance. Soprano and Baritone soloists are called for, although a Tenor may be substituted for the (rather high) Baritone part if needed. The choral parts are not terribly difficult but this is an extended work, probably equivalent to five or six typical anthems. Instrumental parts are not virtuosic; collegiate and professional ensembles should have no trouble preparing the piece with only a few rehearsals. Minimum order quantity: 8 copies. Perusal copies are available by contacting office@DunstanHouse.com (include the organization name with your request). To order quantities fewer than 8. $9.50 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Carl Fischer Music #SPS95. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.SPS95). ISBN 9781491161302. UPC: 680160919895. Written to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the surprise attack on the American Pacific Fleet, Remembering Pearl Harbor is a stirring tribute honoring the heroes of the date which will live in infamy- December 7, 1941. Like flying over the Pacific, the opening bars seemingly soar back in time. The composition takes the listener on a moving journey from the precarious moments before the fateful attack, through the air strike and resulting aftermath. The musical voyage begins with chimes, signifying the hour of the attack that Sunday morning, developing into the heroic main theme representing the Spirit of America. A rousing version of Anchors Aweigh takes us to the naval base at Pearl Harbor and the activities of the day. By the end of Anchors Aweigh, the mood seems to change, foreshadowing the fate of the U.S. fleet. Next, the haunting theme of the Japanese National Anthem is heard and the distant sound of propellers as they approach. When the planes arrive, the battle rages until there is total destruction. Countless people lost their lives on this tragic day. The playing of Taps and the Navy Hymn, Eternal Father, Strong to Save is presented as an homage to those who perished. Following this solemn moment, the American spirit begins to rise as they come together to defeat the enemy. As the U.S. triumphs in the end, we hear fragments of many American tunes depicting the strength and resilience of the American People. You may want to consider using portions of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's famous speech to enhance your performance. The following sections are suggested: Measure 46: Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. Measure 83: The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. Measure 105: No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory..
