First published in 1732-33, this set of fantasias is not only one of Telemann's most celebrated creations, but undoubtedly amongst the finest wind instrument works of the Baroque era. Although conceived and still performable as a complete cycle, progressing roughly stepwise from A major to G minor, each fantasia stands apart in its own right, covering all conceivable styles from the slowest Largo to the fastest Presto, with even several seemingly impossible fugues added into the mix. Originally written for the flute, transcriptions have appeared for many instruments over the years with each arranger adding their own personal touch; however, this edition for tuba is taken directly from the composer's manuscript, allowing the performer maximum freedom of expression and interpretation of this fascinating work.

As recorded in 1972 by the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra on their album Suite For Pops, this solo feature for scat vocalist or guitar opens with a big, full-band intro in slow swing before the 'funky 4 feel' takes over. Punctuated by screaming brass parts, ad lib solo fills by trumpet and tenor, and an optional solo cadenza before the final chord, this tribute to Louis 'Pops' Armstrong is intended for experienced bands only. Duration 11:30.

A Klezmer Wedding by Mike Curtis is a set of four dances, newly-composed but based on traditional models. The Doina is an expressive chant for three successive soloists; it twists and turns with the wailing lament of a shepherd's pipe. Next follows the Hora, a slow Rumanian dance in three with a mood that reflects the wedding's solemn vows. A Chusidl, with a moderate speed and bouncy rhythms, gets the party to the dance floor. The concluding Freylach (happy, but still in a minor key) takes the bride, groom, and guests to the edge of frenzy.

Saxophone Choir/Ensemble - 12-15 part. Optional Soprillo, Sopranino, 2 Soprano, 3 Alto, 3 Tenor, 2 Baritone, Bass, optional Contrabass, optional Subcontrabass. A complete, unabridged arrangement of Dvorak's Serenade for Strings Op. 22. In five movements, the first four are generally straightforward in form, exploring just one or two themes. The first is melodic and soaring, the second is an elegant waltz, the third is a blistering scherzo, while the fourth is a tranquil and wistful slow movement. The finale is more complex, starting out as a Bohemian peasant dance full off off-beat accents. Two other themes are developed in the course of the movement before a recap of the opening theme of the very first movement leads into a frenetic coda section. All parts take their share of the melodic interest right through this arrangement, which requires careful work to bring out the artistic shading in the work. A great addition to any concert situation.

Arranged for 3 to 5 octave handbell choir and optional 3 octaves of handchimes. Level 3-. Anna Laura Page's arrangement is a fresh take on an old favorite. A syncopated version of the tune and malleted bass notes dominate the first verse before giving way to a slower and more delicate statement of Rejoice, the Lord Is King. The original rhythmic feel returns for a final triumphant iteration of the tune.

The piece takes advantage of the Euphonium's full range and has been written for the more advanced player, although the slow movement can accommodate the less advanced players. The player may feel free to be creative throughout the entire piece. The first movement should be played at a lively and energetic tempo with a joyful approach. Particular attention should be paid to articulation, phrasing and the dynamic markings. The glissandi are optional, as are the optional cadenza parts and pedal notes. The second movement requires some really expressive and rubato playing. Phrasing and legato playing should dominate throughout, with lots of feeling and tone. Like the first movement, the third movement should be lively and energetic. No legato playing and attention once again to articulation and phrasing. Options are written in for the high notes, but the player may feel free to attempt them.As a composer, I create the composition. As a musician, you create the music.

This triumphant work by composer Alan Lee Silva will be a perfect selection for your next contest or festival performance. Atlantic Crossing contains all the signature flowing lines and warm harmonies that have made Silva's music so popular and fresh.A joyous journey across the ocean begins in the opening measures, featuring triumphant violins and violas and accented cellos and basses. After the celebratory introduction, Atlantic Crossing comes down in dynamics and transitions to the lyrical A melody in the violins (m. 9) and continues with an AAB form. The violas take over with the flowing B-theme in m. 17 as the rest of the ensemble accompanies the tune with lush harmonies at a lower dynamic. A two-measure build in mm. 24-25 with ascending violins leads back to a reprise of the powerful introductory statement where the ensemble plays full-out with precise articulations and accents. A two-measure interlude in mm. 34-35 slows the energy down to return to the legato A-theme in the violins and violas. Violas carry the B-theme once again in m. 44 with syncopated and accented answer motifs in the violins. The key center shifts at m. 53, and the violins play the melody in a legato interpretationof the introductory theme. The rest of the group plays their accompaniment figures smoothly and expressively underneath. After the molto ritardando at m. 61, the piece returns to the original key center of G. From there the group plays with driving energy as before in the introduction to the final punctuated note in m. 76.
