Concert Band and Vocal Soloist (Score) - Grade 5 SKU: HL.44011763 Poem...(+)
Concert Band and Vocal Soloist (Score) - Grade 5 SKU: HL.44011763 Poems by Graeme King. Composed by Marco Putz. De Haske Concert Band. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2010. De Haske Publications #1094768. Published by De Haske Publications (HL.44011763). UPC: 884088896607. 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. The hymn Nun ruhen alle Walder (Now All Forests Rest), arranged by J.S. Bach (No. 6, So sei nun, Seele, deine, from Cantata BWV 13), is a guiding light throughout this four-movement composition. Pütz wrote this work as a musical outcry against the wilful, profit-driven destruction of our environment. When Bach used the word ruhen (to rest) over 350 years ago, it probably had a different nuance from the meaning it has today. At the beginning of the 21st century - the so-called age of progress - nun ruhen alle Walder should mean now all forests die . Massive industrialization and globalization, coupled with pure greed, corruption, political scandals, an ever-wideninggap between the rich and poor, and other such senseless human actions, are pushing our blue planet closer and closer to the point of no return. This work is not intended to be a ranting accusation. It should remind us of the beauty and harmony that can exist all around us in nature, if we take care of it. Pütz hopes that this will, one day, help put a greater emphasis on humanity's survival, and coexistence with nature rather than the exploitation described earlier. All four texts were created by Australian poet Graeme King, whose works were discovered by Pütz, by chance on the internet. Pütz was especially captivated by King's clarity, and intrigued by the possibilities of adapting and melding the strong rhythmical structure of King's writing with his own musical language. The four movements are as follows: 1. Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! 4. Tomorrow The world premiere of Four Earth Songs took place on 7 July 2009 at the 14th WASBE-Conference in Cincinnati (USA). This work is dedicated in friendship to Jouke Hoekstra, conductor, and the Frysk Fanfare Orkest (the Frisian Fanfare-Orchestra).
Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3.Stand up! 4.
Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! 4. Tomorrow Die offizielle Uraufführung von Four Earth Songs fand am 7. Juli 2009 statt, anlasslich der 14. WASBE-Konferenz in Cincinnati (USA).
Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! Fanfare Band and Vocal Solo - Grade 6 SKU: BT.DHP-1094768-020 For Soprano Solo and Band. Composed by Marco Putz. De Haske Manuscript. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2009. De Haske Publications #DHP 1094768-020. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1094768-020). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. The hymn Nun ruhen alle Wälder (Now All Forests Rest), arranged by J.S. Bach (No. 6, So sei nun, Seele, deine, from Cantata BWV 13), is a guiding light throughout this four-movement composition. Pütz wrote this work as a musical outcry against the wilful, profit-driven destruction of our environment. When Bach used the word “ruhen†(to rest) over 350 years ago, it probably had a different nuance from the meaning it has today. At the beginning of the 21st century - the so-called age of progress - “nun ruhen alle Wälder†should mean “now all forests die†. Pütz hopes that this will, one day, help put a greater emphasis on humanity’s survival, and coexistence with nature rather than the exploitation described earlier. All four texts were created by Australian poet Graeme King, whose works were discovered by Pütz, by chance on the internet. Pütz was especially captivated by King’s clarity, and intrigued by the possibilities of adapting and melding the strong rhythmical structure of King’s writing with his own musical language. The four movements are as follows: 1. Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! 4. Tomorrow The world première of Four Earth Songs took place on 7 July 2009 at the 14th WASBE-Conference in Cincinnati (USA).
Juli 2009 statt, anlässlich der 14. WASBE-Konferenz in Cincinnati (USA).
Chamber Music Saxophone Quartet SKU: PR.14440426S Five Bagatelles for Saxophone Quartet. Composed by Sydney F. Hodkinson. Full score. With Standard notation. 33 pages. Duration 12 minutes. Theodore Presser Company #144-40426S. Published by Theodore Presser Company (PR.14440426S). UPC: 680160030484. In 1999, while packing up myriad boxes to move to a new home (following academic retirement from Eastman School of Music), I stumbled-literally-over a short string suite of five vignettes I had composed during the 1950's as a college freshman. They had never been performed. I decided to transcribe them for the American Saxophone Quartet following a request from that august ensemble. Other than slightly lengthening the first ditty to accommodate an imperious alto sax which thinks it can play ALL of the 4-part fugal entries itself, I made few changes from the original youthful version. The first four movements each feature one of the quartet members as a leading voice, the others largely accompanying; everyone shares the wealth in the final dance. The whole piece is very tonal (with centers on A, D, E, G and D respectively) and make copious use of a jazz/pop music ambience that was prevalent in my first-year-conservatory world at the time. The five Snippets are approximately twelve minutes in duration and are affectionately dedicated to my long-standing friend, the saxophone virtuoso Albert Regni. The work was complete in 1954 in Rochester, New York and transcribed in Ormond, Florida, during the summer of 2000. The American Saxophone Quartet, founded by Mr. Regni, gave the premiere performances in New York City. --Sydney Hodkinson. $31.99 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 6 SKU: BT.DHP-1115084-020 Composed by Jan Van der Roost. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Set (Score & Parts). De Haske Publications #DHP 1115084-020. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1115084-020). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. It may be surprising to see a fanfare piece commissioned by a Japanese ensemble, since fanfare orchestras are typically found in Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, and also France and Switzerland. Senzoku Gakuen is one of the largest and mostprestigious music universities in Japan, and home to a wide variety of ensembles and orchestras. Since 2006 they have had a fanfare orchestra, which was started by Sotaru Fukaishi, a euphonium teacher who felt further performance opportunity wasneeded for saxhorn instruments. Fukaishi had loved the sound of fanfare orchestras ever since visiting the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (Holland) several years earlier. Jan Van der Roost was involved with this new initiative from the beginning, and they were also joined by Manu Mellaerts for certain projects. The Dean of the music department, Professor Kazuo Tomioka, fully supports the ensemble and commissioned Ostinati. The première took place on June 11th at Maeda Hall inMizonokuchi (Kawasaki) where Senzoku Gakuen is based. The piece opens with an impressive timpani solo, followed by brass and saxophone. The rhythmical pulse remains constant and the music is fiery and assertive in character. A pentatonic melodygradually emerges and the music loses its vehemency and softens. The initial percussion ostinati subsequently recurs and the first section of the piece concludes in a similar mood to the opening. The second movement is sweet and melodic, opening witha long passage for the saxophone family in a minor key. The same theme then appears in the major and is developed upon; the music builds to a majestic orchestral forte, reminiscent of a pipe organ in its sonority. The theme returns in the originalminor key with a change in instrumentation leading the movement to a quiet and peaceful end on a soft E minor chord. The finale starts with percussion: a four-bar pattern is repeated several times over which the movement’s melodic themes areintroduced. These melodic elements are varied and used in different versions and the ostinato idea, which characterizes the entire piece, is highlighted. The theme travels through the orchestra, appearing on various instruments and in variousregisters. It captures the listener’s attention and displays the full range of sound and colour within the fanfare orchestra.
$478.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 6 SKU: BT.DHP-1115084-120 Composed by Jan Van der Roost. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Score Only. Composed 2012. 99 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1115084-120. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1115084-120).
SKU: CA.2091900 Composed by Heinrich Schutz. Edited by Helmut Lauterwasse...(+)
SKU: CA.2091900 Composed by Heinrich Schutz. Edited by Helmut Lauterwasser. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Schutz; Hymns by Martin Luther: Litanei. Kyrie eleison. Sacred concertos, Sacred vocal music, Psalms. Full score (complete edition / selected edition). 368 pages. Carus Verlag #CV 20.919/00. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2091900). ISBN 9790007171711. Volume 19 of the Schutz Complete Edition brings together 21 very different compositions from various phases of Schutz's compositional output. The spectrum ranges from a short, two-part sacred concerto to a six-part cyclical psalm setting and large-scale polychoral concerto, from well-known works such as the Osterdialog to a completely unknown madrigalian composition, full of emotion, to a simple chorale setting. A particular challenge was posed by the ten works or versions of works which survive incomplete. Two of these, the Christmas concerto Ach Herr, du Schopfer aller Ding SWV 450a and Ein Kind ist uns geboren SWV 497, appear here for the first time in print. With both of these it turned out that it was possible to reconstruct the missing parts fully from available material. For the Ultima Verba Psalmi 23, Gutes und Barmherzigkeit SWV 95 and the two Nunc dimittis: Herr, nun lassest du deinen Diener SWV 432 and 433, the editor's reconstructions are presented, and likewise with the chorale movement In dich hab ich gehoffet, Herr SWV 446. The impressive Easter dialog Weib, was weinest du SWV 443 is one of the works which survives incomplete. In order to give an impression of how the whole work might actually have sounded in the complete form as planned by Schutz, the Appendix to the volume contains a reconstruction of the four-part vocal setting of the missing final chorus, based on the surviving figured bass. The magnificent Gesang der drei Manner im feurigen Ofen (Song of the three men in the burning fiery furnace) SWV 448 from the book of the prophet Daniel, the original source of which is lost, is critically discussed and published with various possibilities for scoring. $350.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

| Four Seasons Flute Trio: 3 flutes - Intermediate De Haske Publications
3 Flutes - intermediate SKU: BT.DHP-1135495-070 For Flute Trio. Co...(+)
3 Flutes - intermediate SKU: BT.DHP-1135495-070 For Flute Trio. Composed by Mario Valsania. De Haske Flute Series. Set (Score and Parts). Composed 2013. De Haske Publications #DHP 1135495-070. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1135495-070). 9x12 inches. International. This work for flute trio is in no way connected to the famous work of the same name by Antonio Vivaldi. In his Four Seasons, Mario Valsania sees the changing seasons from a child's point of view: Spring, out in the fresh air on abike ride, the unhurried Summer, Autumn and the new school year, and finally Winter, with its Christmas celebrations... This is a composition in a classical style but with advanced, non-traditional harmonies. The composer's aim was to bring out the full richness of the flute's range and character - such as staccato and double-tonguing. InWinter, various traditional Christmas carols can be heard.
$22.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

High voice and piano - Late Intermediate SKU: EC.9278 Composed by Joseph Stillwell. E.C. Schirmer Publishing #9278. Published by E.C. Schirmer Publishing (EC.9278). UPC: 600313311185. English. Songs of Love and Solace traces a young man's journey of love and heartbreak. The cycle of four texts by Irish poet William Butler Yeats begins with Brown Penny. This short poem depicts a young man infatuated with the idea of falling in love, and then becoming awestruck as he contemplates the depths of love’s power. In the second poem, He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven, the poet, speaking to his beloved, realizes he has nothing of value to offer but his dreams. Tread softly, he implores, because you tread on my dreams.” In When You Are Old, we find our poet heartbroken. In his grief he peers into the future and foresees his beloved, in old age, remembering the depth and purity of their forsaken love: “But one man love the pilgrim soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face.” In the final song, The Lake Isle of Innisfree,” the poet, saddened but wiser, wistfully resolves to escape the struggles and heartbreaks of his modern existence, and seek solace in the beauty and calm of nature. Songs may be performed separately.
