Guitar - Beginning SKU: MB.31103M Third Edition. Bluegrass, Wire bound. World. Book and online audio. 236 pages. Mel Bay Publications, Inc #31103M. Published by Mel Bay Publications, Inc (MB.31103M). ISBN 9781513468792. 8.75x11.75 inches. Adam Granger self-published the first edition of Grangerâ??s Fiddle Tunes for Guitar in 1979. A second edition was published in 1994. Now Mel Bay Publications presents the third edition of the book. This 236-page book is the most extensive and best-documented collection of fiddle tunes for the flatpicking guitar player in existence, and includes reels, hoedowns, hornpipes, rags, breakdowns, jigs and slip-jigs, presented in Southern, Northern, Irish, Canadian, Texas and Old-time styles. There are 508 fiddle tunes referenced under 2500 titles and alternate titles. The titles are fully indexed, making the book doubly valuable as a reference book and a source book. In this new edition, all tunes are typeset, instead of being handwritten as they were in the previous editions, making the tabs easier to read. The tunes in Grangerâ??s Fiddle Tunes for Guitar are presented in Easytab, a streamlined tablature notation system designed by Adam specifically for fiddle tunes. The book comes with a link which gives access to mp3 recordings by Adam of all 508 tunes, each played once at a moderate tempo, with rhythm on one channel and lead on the other. Also included in Grangerâ??s Fiddle Tunes for Guitar are instructions for reading Easytab, descriptions of tune types presented in the book, and primers on traditional flatpicking and rhythm guitar. Additionally, there are sections on timing, ornamentation, technique, and fingering, as well as information on tune sources and a history of the collection. Mel Bay also offers The Granger Collection, by Bill Nicholson, the same 508 tunes in standard music notation.

Choral Piano, Violin, Voice 1, Voice 2, Voice 3 SKU: CF.CM9641 He Is Born. Composed by French carol. Arranged by Lynn Shaw Bailey Christopher Pillsbury. Sws. Performance Score. 16 pages. Duration 0:02:32. Carl Fischer Music #CM9641. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.CM9641). ISBN 9781491157138. UPC: 680160915699. 6.875 x 10.5 inches. Key: G major. English, English. Traditional 18th Century French Carol. Delightfully fresh and fun, this Celtic-style arrangement of the beloved French carol He Is Born, is a lively Christmas anthem. Featuring a driving piano accompaniment and optional Celtic fiddle, it is the perfect piece for any occasion where spirited holiday music is desired. An optional string ensemble accompaniment is also available on demand (CM9503IN). Also available for SATB Voices (CM9503), TBB Voices (CM9636), and SSA Voices (CM9528). A Celtic French Carol (He is Born) is a spirited English arrangement of the traditional French Carol Il est ne', le divin Enfant. One of the most famous songs of the French repertoire, the melody is derived from an Eighteenth-Century Air de Chasse (or hunting tune), entitled La Tete Bizarde (The Bizard Head). The oldest known publication of the tune is an organ arrangement by Romary Grosjean (1815-1888), musicologist and organist of the Cathedral of Saint-Die'-des-Vosges, in an 1862 collection of carols entitled Airs des Noels Lorrains. The French text for the carol was first published in Dom Georges Legeay's collection of ancient carols, Noels anciens (1875-1876). Il est ne', le divin Enfant has been translated into many languages throughout the world. One of the best English translations appeared in Walter Ehret and George K. Evans' collection The International Book of Christmas Carols (1963). A Celtic French Carol (He is Born) is a spirited English arrangement of the traditional French Carol Il est ne´, le divin Enfant. UPC: 680160916344. 9 x 12 inches. Though not as familiar as other holiday carols, this ancient melody has an intrinsic beauty in both its shape and harmonic support. Reflecting those elements, this arrangement creates an evocative sound world. The mood is inspired by viewing the expanse of the night sky. Throughout history, we as humans are connected, in a sense, by the fact that we look up at the same pattern of stars today as those who created this ancient tune so many years ago, which suggests a point of connection over time. In this arrangement you will find a sense of wonder and awe as the melody weaves its way between consonance and dissonance. The re-imagining of this medieval carol reflects the timeless nature of the Christmas season. Students will work on sustaining long tones and tuning non-traditional chords in this choral-like setting for string orchestra. The melody flows between all the parts with short musical interludes between. The Suzuki Method of Talent Education is based on Shinichi Suzuki's view that every child is born with ability, and that people are the product of their environment. According to Shinichi Suzuki, a world-renowned violinist and teacher, the greatest joy an adult can know comes from developing a child's potential so he/she can express all that is harmonious and best in human beings. Students are taught using the mother-tongue approach. Each series of books for a particular instrument in the Suzuki Method is considered a Suzuki music school, such as the Suzuki Trumpet School. Suzuki lessons are generally given in a private studio setting with additional group lessons. The student listens to the recordings and works with their Suzuki teacher to develop their potential as a musician and as a person.
This Accompaniment/Performance CD is integral for Suzuki trumpet lessons. Volume 1 features: Recordings by Caleb Hudson accompanied by Michael Schneider, as well as piano accompaniments recorded without the trumpet part.

About Suzuki Method The Suzuki Method is based on the principle that all children possess ability and that this ability can be developed and enhanced through a nurturing environment. All children learn to speak their own language with relative ease and if the same natural learning process is applied in teaching other skills, these can be acquired as successfully. Suzuki referred to the process as the Mother Tongue Method and to the whole system of pedagogy as Talent Education. The important elements of the Suzuki approach to instrumental teaching include the following:an early start (aged 3-4 is normal in most countries); the importance of listening to music; learning to play before learning to read; -the involvement of the parent; a nurturing and positive learning environment; a high standard of teaching by trained teachers; the importance of producing a good sound in a balanced and natural way; core repertoire, used by Suzuki students across the world; social interaction with other children. Suzuki students from all over the world can communicate through the language of music. $15.99 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks | | |
