Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1319641 Composed by Ben Chapman, Colby Acuff, and Meg Mcree. Arranged by Seamus McDaniel. 21st Century,Country. Guitar Tab. 5 pages. Seamus McDaniel #908193. Published by Seamus McDaniel (A0.1319641). This is my arrangement/transcription of Colby Acuff's Boy and a Bird Dog from the Official Acoustic Video on YouTube! I've included left hand fingering, chord names, and really aimed for note-by-note accuracy in this one. There is standard notation as well as tabature in the PDF. The staff has been transposed to account for the capo and can be read more easily! If you have any questions or suggestions regarding my tabs, feel free to reach out to me at my website!

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1177383 By Frederic Chopin. By FreÌdeÌric Chopin. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 19th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Romantic Period. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. Brian Streckfus #776814. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1177383). Key: Changed from B minor to A minorCapo: 2 (If you want original key, but I wasn't a fan of capo 2; it felt like there was no bass notes.)1. Arranged for guitar. 2. Piano pedal markings removed 3. Phrase markings removed and opted for commas. 4. Re-harmonized 5. Key changed from B minor to A minor. 6. Slurs 7. Left hand fingers 8. Tablature9. Harmonics added when advantageous, but playing the regular note would work as well.10. Piano pedal markings removed and replaced with commas. It's a flaw of sheet music that slurs, ties, and phrase markings are all the same symbol, and having all three happening can clutter a score.Compromises This may sound obvious, but of course I had to make some alterations to make this flow properly on guitar. Many of the original chord inversions on the piano were not kept. However, many harmonies were kept intact as far as following the chord nomenclature name. Measure 50 was originally an A minor chord, the irony is that the F major suprise is an homage to Chopin anyways, suprised he didn't opt for it. To be honest, I don't like how there is a perfect authentic cadence in measure 50. I think modern audiences would want to clap too badly, so I believe that ending needs to be slightly messed up to propel the music forward, and give a sense that there is still a problem. The other chord that was changed was an E7b9 to a Ddim7 in measure 78. If you know your theory well, you'll realize these chords have the same exact function and nearly the same notes, it's just that Ddim7 flowed a bit better on guitar. I'd rather have guitarists play the rhythms correctly and with musicality, than have guitarist clunkily go though overly large chords in order to mantain historical accuracy. Measure 15 was hard to keep the original chord intact. A Bb/D with a G in the melody as a suspension sounds more like a g minor chord. That is cliche Chopinesque neopolitan moment so the Bb is crucial to mantain. Having some rough sort of Bbmaj7 or G minor chord while mantaining the melody seemed to sound the best even though the name of the chord might have gotten a little off. I tried chord charts, but they seemed messier than what it was worth. I also could have the denser tablature in the sheet music, but that does make it look 10x more intimidating. So this version is unique in that the tablature is my denser arrangement, whereas the sheet music would allow someone to quickly make a new arrangement. I like this ethos because most guitarists are likely to be much better at playing chord quickly when they don't have to have an exact voicing. This makes this arrangement easier to further perfect since I am naming the harmonies, which often isn't done in classical music.BackstoryThis is one of my favorite pieces, and also my favorite composer. I feel classical guitar repertoire is lacking easily playable music in the romantic style. Often, if it is romantic guitar music, it is extemely difficult and therefore only a select few can enjoy performing it. Also, I sometimes get my hopes up to find a romantic guitar composer, but then after listening, there's nothing quite like Chopin. Obviously, you will have to have some chops to play this since it's one of the most ambitious undertakings a guitarist could take, but it's also not so hard that you have to be train for a decade because I changed the key.

Easy Guitar (with TAB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1177429 Composed by Brian Streckfus. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. Instructional. Tablature. 13 pages. Brian Streckfus #777440. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1177429). Major/Minor/Pentatonic Forms for Guitar (Sheet Music + Tab + Fretboard)Learn every key on guitar with very few pages. Pages: 13Bonus Pages:1. A Major Scale across the full neck (to see how they all combine resulting in knowing the full neck)2. Blank scale chart to add in memorization and making alterations.Scales included:1. F Major2. C Major3. G Major4. D Major5. A MajorTips:1. There is a reason why it is not 12 or 24 scales. Since these scales are easy to move higher or lower, just these 5 Major will lead to all 24 major/minor keys throughout the entire fretboard. Therefore, making a C# Major scale chart is uneccessary, and if you are doing so, you may be over thinking music. Instead, it is better to ask yourself how do I play C major but 1 pitch higher and use previous work you have done to your advantage. 2. These scales do not end on the home note. This is a disadvantage in this way, however, knowing large portions of the scale neck in one position will allow you to play a key throughout the fretboard with no gaps in notes. In otherwords, learning one ocatave scales can have concise music theory, but it's impossible to know the scale in every part of the neck completely that way. Features:1. Color coding. Blue notes are home (tonic) notes. Red notes are away (dominant) notes. Simplifying harmony this much can often make you more creative not less since you are crafting the harmonies yourself. 2. Left hand fingerings added. Don't mistake these for fingering numbers.3. Letter names to aid in memorization.Notes:I realize that the hand written font doesn't look the most professional, however this is intentional. I tried making these in photo editors, but since every shape was perfect they were actually harder to memorize from (kind of living driving in a tunnel with no landmarks).

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1136061 Composed by Brian Streckfus. Instructional,Jewish,Multicultural,Religious,Sacred,World. Guitar Tab. 1 pages. Brian Streckfus #736086. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1136061). If someone is yawning saying, I'm sick and tired of playing music in the key of C Major, I want to use a scale hardly anyone uses. Then this piece is for you.1. Guitar Arrangement2. Guitar Tab3. Less stereotypical chords 4. Fingerings and letter names added to aid in sight-reading 5. Voice leading considerationsThe Scale I used is: D Eb F# G A Bb D. The name of it would be something bizarre. These names include: Jewish, harmonic major, or a mode of G harmonic minor. If I included a C#, it would be a symmetrical scale that can't be retrograded, adding to the mathematical mystique. An exotic sounding atmosphere was what I was going for.Tips:1. Since it is exotic, microtonal pre-bends seem appropriate to make it even more exotic sounding. That is what the upwards pointing swoosh means. Perhaps the sound of a sitar was what I was going for.2. Slides also make it sound more exotic.3. Exotic music uses drone tones more often than American music. Therefor, droning a low D made sense.4. The naming of chords would be quite difficult since it is more of an alien music language than a western one. I just left them out this time. Names would happen such as Dadd4(b9)omit3. Pretty alien chords if you ask me, and you can see that the western chord nomenclature is struggling to name it elegantly. Anytime chords are build in 4th and 5ths rather than 3rds, usually the name that results is quite complex.5. I added unisons because it makes it sound more mysterious in my opinion.

Easy Guitar (with TAB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1370027 Composed by Brian Streckfus. Instructional,Singer/Songwriter. Tablature. 6 pages. Brian Streckfus #954402. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1370027). I created this to make learning the most common chords on guitar easier. Learning chords on guitar is quite difficult; fret numbers are quite arbitary to what the chord is. There are patterns to follow, but they are buried in a convoluted foggy swamp. The tuning of guitar strings essentially puts the music theory in a blender and one has to study for a long time to decode it. It is my hope that this PDF will shine some light on how chords are built, and why some of them have a lot of clarity in how they are working, and why others seem completely random. This PDF shows chords that commonly happen in pop music, so it is by no means an exhaustive list. For knowing how to use chords, see my chord progression generator uploads.Tips:1. There is redundacy for a reason; this pdf shows multiple ways of playing the same chord.2. The first two pages are for the music theory purists in that there is hardly ever an uneccesary note to mantain the name of the chord. This is useful for understanding what notes are needed for a chord (it's a cliche for guitarists to have overly large chords).3. Pages 3 and 4 are the famous voicings. 4. Pages 5 and 6 are the bar chord versions. These versions are physically harder to play, but they can add a lot of clarity and simplicity to your playing (the famous voicings on pages 3 and 4 are seemingly random). They are much easier to slide to any key you want and much easier to see similiarities and patterns between chords.

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.997091 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Anastas Mihaylov. Folk,World. Guitar Tab. 8 pages. Anastas Mihaylov #5205607. Published by Anastas Mihaylov (A0.997091). Horo is the general name for the traditional Bulgarian dances. The presented Dospatsko horo is a traditional dance from the South Bulgaria. There are not many arrangements of traditional Balkan music for guitar. This one is for finger style playing, level of difficulty- intermediate. The melody should be played clearly as well as the base. Be careful with the middle voices. The time signature is 7/8- a triple time witch first beat is longer than the next two. It works well for concert performance as well as for fun. Notes and tabs included.

Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1181680 By Frederic Chopin. By FreÌdeÌric Chopin. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 19th Century,Contemporary,Instructional,Romantic Period. Guitar Tab. 2 pages. Brian Streckfus #781456. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1181680). Disclaimer: This is a two page excerpt with mostly only the beginning and end of the original piece. This is still a work in progress, the middle section is going to be difficult, if not impossible on guitar. Some may see this as more of an homage to Chopin rather than a historically accurate version. That being said, both this arrangement and the original are incredible pieces of music, and it may be my favorite piece of all time, and I think jaws would drop if the average person hears a guitarist effortlessly playing Chopin as if it was meant for guitar. 1. Arranged for guitar. 2. Guitar Tablature added. 3. Key changed 4. Notes removed and and inverted chords changed to be idiomatic for guitar.5. Slurs added. 6. Chord nomenclature added. 7. Piano pedal and phrase markings are a bit unnecessary for a guitarist so they are not included. Slurs and ties are more important for a guitarist, so I don't want a ton of swoops symbols obscuring slurs and ties. As with the other Chopin arrangement I made, I want super romantic music while making sure it isn't super difficult to play. If I wanted a super hard version, I would just find the public domain version and read treble and bass clef in a difficult key for free. There could also be a lot more mantaining of historical accuracy if this was arranged for a 7 or 8 string guitar. Having a low E and Eb would really changed the trajectory of the arrangement. Sure a guitar can play an Eb chord, but it always sounds too high pitched, when really the original has a low powerful bass note as the music inflects a different key. So that's why I took some liberty with the bass notes for guitar. It's incredibly grimy sounding even though A minor isn't typically seen as a dark and low key.Tips:1. A Bb chord in the key of a minor is an example of a Neopolitan chord, named after a city in Italy. This is one main essence of Chopin, and constantly using them allows him to really toy around with the key and suspense. To Do:1. Measure 10 is glitched out. Sorry. It is correct in a way but it is strangely spaced. It is a challenge because at times it looks like measures have the incorrect amount of beats, but I think Chopin's freedom of rhythm is the reason why, and bizarre triplets and quintuplets are being forced into the measure. 2. Combination version without tab?3. The full piece?4. Add rhythm to tab?

Bass driven chord progressions are a characteristic feature of accomplished guitarists like James Taylor and Chet Atkins.‘Clawhammer’ technique or ‘Travis picking’ are the names often given to a style of playing four bass notes to the bar (usually alternating from root to fifth of the chord played with the R.H.thumb). If you listen to the great country guitarist Chet Atkins you will hear this ‘clawhammer’ style in most of his guitar arrangements.Useful hammer-ons/pull-offs and passing notes that will improve your technique and add a professional touch to enhance your guitar performances. See bar for 8 hammer on the A sus chord and also on the B minor in bar 32. Note the pull off on G chord in bar 11.Intro and outro sections are included in this James Taylor guitar arrangement of ‘You can close your eyes’Most songs have intros and outros so that the singer can get the tempo and start in the right key. However, many published arrangements often just start on a pick-up note or two on the last beat of the bar with no chord indicated and end the song on a chord that is not the tonic or main key chord that tells the listener the song has ended. ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ by John Denver is a good example. In the key of ‘D’ the song starts with the notes ‘C#’ and ‘E’ and then the first bar is indicated as ‘D’ major chord. If you start the song playing a ‘D’ chord you will most likely sing the wrong notes because ‘C#’ and ‘E’ belong to the A7 chord of the song. So a simple 2 bar intro of ‘D’ , A7 (start singing on the last beat) and back to ‘D’ would help the singer to get the tempo and sing the correct pick-up notes. The printed sheet music of ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ ends on an ‘A7’ chord of the chorus and as such does not indicate that the end chord should be ‘D’. So it is not always safe to assume that the end chord in printed music indicates the key of the song. Lyrics with chord symbols to show when to change chords. Matching the fingerpicking tab or sheet music to the lyrics can sometimes prove difficult so I have included a lyrics sheet of ‘You can close your eyes’ with chord symbols. This is a very popular format to give an indication when to change chords. However, the drawback is that there is no way of knowing how long each chord lasts as the bar structure is missing. But once you learn the bar structure from the sheet music or tab part you will find this Lyrics and chords sheet of ‘You can close your eyes’ your go to page for performing the song until you know it from memory.Downloads available Include:Score Tab Chords Lyrics For GuitarNotes Chords Lyrics For GuitarTab Chords Lyrics For GuitarIf you like or buy this arrangement it helps if you leave even a brief review- two words( very good) or even better one word (Awesome) :)Contact me at info@guitarlessonsdundrum.com

Easy Guitar (with TAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1466982 Composed by John Dowland. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. Early Music,Historic,Instructional,Medieval,Renaissance. Tablature. 1 pages. Brian Streckfus #1045545. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1466982). John Dowland is often associated with being a melancholic lute player and singer in the style of the Elizabethan era, earning him the moniker Always Dowland, always doleful. If you have been looking for a composer that sounds like knights and castles on a lute, than look no further, you have found the best examplar: John Dowland.Mr. Dowland's Midnight is an instrumental piece composed for the lute. It is a pavan, a slow and stately dance popular in Renaissance music. It is typically played in the key of E minor. Dowland's compositions, including Mr. Dowland's Midnight were published in collections such as The First Booke of Songes and Lachrimae, or Seaven Teares. Having hollow 5th chords (A.K.A. power chords) is a cliché rennissance trope/motif, but the piece actually uses a more complex harmonic vocabulary than one would expect for the 16th century. There certainly is a fair amount of hollow 5th though.Features:1. Updated to modern notation2. Arranged for modern standard tuning guitar instead of lute tuning 3. Obvious fingerings added (subjective fingerings left in)4. Chord names added5. Glissandos added 6. Key changed.

Here is a lovely arrangement of the popular 1974 tune, "Feelings" made famous by Julio Iglesias, Shirley Bassey, Petula Clark to name just a few! The piece works really nicely for solo classical guitar, and is not too difficult to play. Fingerings of tricky passages are given for both right and left hands. There is another version available without tablature.

Caprice No 5 - Niccolo Paganini - This piece has been arranged for electric guitar. This is a fun little piece which will help develop your picking skills. It can be quite tricky as there are a lot of position changes, making fingering slightly harder to work out.

Instrumental composed in the middle of the nineties during the preparations for Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. There was a proposal to extend train line from Bondi Junction all the way to Bondi Beach where I lived. I was keen on the idea as I did not like catching the slow, crowded and stinky buses to the city every day. Majority of the locals however did not want it, so the train line was not built. Sometimes, I played this tune at Bondi Beach accompanied by a didgeridoo player named Zani who had didgeridoo in E key. Where Zani is now, I would not have a clue. Should you like to hear me play this tune on guitar wit tapping on the solid top and harmonica, please visit this Souncloud page:
