By Serge Gainsbourg. Arranged
by Martin Tucker. 4 pages.
Published by Martin TuckerThis sad and beautiful song by Serge Gainsbourg ("The drowned woman") tells of the loss of a woman drowning in the river of memory. In a 1972 live recording, and ironically for such a great song, the host introduces Gainsbourg with the words "Vous ne l’avez jamais entendue, vous ne l’entendrez peut être jamais plus, alors autant en profiter tout de suite, c’est une chanson inédite, elle s’appelle La Noyée" ("You have never heard it, you might never hear it again, so you might as well enjoy it right away, it’s a brand new song called La Noyée"). The song has been covered by Anna Karina, Carla Bruni and Lulu Gainsbourg, amongst others. This is a simple arrangement with complete fingering to make the piece accessible to as many pianists as possible. 4 pages, 72 bars.
