3 Pieces for the Piano - Opus 1

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1087984 Composed by Eamon Mukhopadhyay. Contemporary. Score. 31 pages. Eamon Mukhopadhyay #692177. Published by Eamon Mukhopadhyay (A0.1087984). These three pieces are to mimic studies of voicing and touch through lyrical forms. Each specific BPM marking in the tempo is intentionally preceded with ossia rather than ca.. This is to emphasize complete tempo freedom for the performer. The BPM markings are simply given as an initial baseline, showing the general tempo that the composer would perform these pieces at. Neither of the three pieces finish with a triad. Instead, they end with some form of extended harmony, whether it be through a chord or arpeggio. Neither the specific meaning of the piece nor the method to play the piece is included in the piece descriptions following this sentence, as those choices are specific to the performer. Nocturne in A Major (Op. 1 No. 1) uses both contemporary and traditional harmonic concepts, with add9 chords and extended harmonies integrating further color into the piece. Much material of Winter Landscapes in E-Flat Minor (Op. 1 No. 2) is built upon a simple four-note motif (in regards to scale degrees, the motif follows the pattern of 1-7-2-1). To note - this piece never resolves to the traditional E-Flat minor triad. Lastly, Tribute in D major (Op. 1 No. 3), similar to the other two pieces (of the Op. 1 set), uses multiple forms of extended harmonies through chords and arpeggios, such as add9 and dominant thirteenth harmony.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1361774 By Michael Mollo. By Michael Mollo. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical. Score. 26 pages. Michael John Mollo Publishing #946227. Published by Michael John Mollo Publishing (A0.1361774). In 2005 I was privileged to study music composition at the College Conservatory of located at The University of Cincinnati. One of the pieces I presented for my master's thesis was this, '3 Pieces for Solo Piano'. The pieces are intended to stand on their own or be performed together as a suite. In 2005 I was very much interested in pursuing film music as a career, as such each piece presented here explores a decidedly different thematic concept or combination thereof, in my attempt to learn more about harnessing dramatic expression. 'I. Heroic Western' is my attempt to harness the 'Go-West-Young-Man' spirit of Americana Copland with sprinkles of Gershwin. 'II. Sunken Rag' is an homage to Debussy's 'Sunken Cathedral' if only he had some time to spend with Scott Joplin. III. New Tango' is a play on Argentinian rhythms and simple melodic constructs with chromatic rivers running through the texture.

Solitudeis Oneself: Three piano pieces:

1 NeverUnderestimate the Difficulties of Simple Things

2 Too MuchBut Still Not Enough

3 Waitingfor Perfection is Waiting Forever

Tranquil, relaxing, "chill",minimalist, expressive music for solo piano.

You can "use" this music formeditation, study, learning, sleeping, relax or praying.

The phrase wherethe title (Solitude is Oneself)comes from belongs to Javier Adúriz (1948-2011), Argentine poet, one ofmy best teachers and friends (the original Spanish reads "La soledad es uno mismo").

Don'tsee any negative aspects in Solitude. In Spanish there is only one word forSolitude and Loneliness (namely "Soledad"). Loneliness is a state ofisolation, without dialog, feeling abandoned and without external points ofreference. But I conceive Solitude as a highely creative state, in which one isfaced to what one actually wants to achieve, with one's thoughts, with one'sself.

NeverUnderestimate the Difficulties of Simple Things. Lots of times I have seenthis in several persons - and in myself: when something is simple, easy anduncomplicated, we tend to underestimate it too much and its hidden difficultiesend up tackling us. We leave to the last moment a text that seems easy tolearn, and we do not assimilate it as we could. Or a chess game that is(really) won, but we feel over-confident, we play with superficiality, we makeslight mistakes one after the other and loose control of the situation.

Thistitle can be understood as self-referent: this particular piano piece seems tobe simple... until you try to perform it really well and record it.

About the ArtWork / Cover Art of Solitudeis Oneself:

It shows a human face (concretely the composer's)faced simmetrically to its silhouette, in black. This illustration alludes tothe title: Solitude is Oneself. Is oneself (the person) facing his ownsolitude, his internal misterious being. A real human facing his own shadow. Itis not a negative shadow: is the shadow of which Shamanism speaks, the ownshadow from where one draws strength.

The music is dedicated to Mr. Cadmiel Pérez from República Dominicana.

Solitude isOneself was recorded by the composer and released as single on Friday 17August 2018 on Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Qobuz, Tidal, Amazon mp3 and nearly all streaming platforms you canimagine.

In Spotify is here:

https://open.spotify.com/album/6KffxzDSVYJqZuNEK3Bj0h

In Bandcamp is here:

https://juanmariasolare.bandcamp.com/album/solitude-is-oneself

If you readSpanish you can find more about this music here:

https://es.quora.com/blog/musica-neoclasica/La-soledad-es-uno-mismo-m%C3%BAsica-para-piano

Grieg: Morning Mood from Peer Gynt Suite for Piccolo & Piano

Instrumental Solo,Piano,Piccolo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549520 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and individual part. 17 pages. Jmsgu3 #3504453. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549520). Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 9 pages, solo part: 3 pages, piano part: 4 pages. Super-famous instantly recognizable tune, not very difficult - suitable for a recital or church meditation. Works particularly well on the Piccolo! Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. As a matter of fact, most music historians consider him one of the foremost Romantic-era composers. Consequently, his music is part of the international standard classical repertoire. Grieg moreover used Norwegian folk music in his own compositions. Consequently, he ushered Norwegian music to transnational consciousness. Furthermore, he forged a national musical identity for Norway. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and Bedřich Smetana in Bohemia. Legacy Grieg is especially celebrated in the city of Bergen. For example, the city has erected numerous statues depicting Grieg. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy), and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. As a matter of fact, there is also a museum located at his former home in Troldhaugen. Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (Op. 46) Grieg wrote incidental music for the purpose of illustrating a play by Ibsen known as Peer Gynt. The play includes, in particular, the famous selection entitled, In the Hall of the Mountain King. In this composition, Grieg depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, striking his skull on a boulder. He wakens forthwith in a highland bounded by angry gnomes. Consequently, the music of In the Hall of the Mountain King represents the mad gnomes taunting Peer. Therefore, each time the theme repeats it gets louder and faster. In the end, Peer surprisingly escapes from the mountain. Holberg Suite and Misc. Summary It must be remembered that Grieg originally wrote his Holberg Suite for the piano. In other words, he only later arranged it for strings. Further, Grieg composed many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.

Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. In this composition, Grieg indeed depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, thereupon striking his skull on a boulder. Further, Grieg composed by and large many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.Register for free lifetime revisions and updates at www.jamesguthrie.com

Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and parts. 16 pages. Jmsgu3 #3508021. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549563). Duration: ca. 3:20, Score: 10 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Delicate, not very difficult - suitable for a recital encore. Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. As a matter of fact, most music historians consider him one of the foremost Romantic era composers. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. In this composition, Grieg indeed depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, thereupon striking his skull on a boulder.
