String Orchestra - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by trad. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century, European, Patriotic. Score, Set of Parts. 10 pages. Published by Music for all Occasions
Londonderry Air arranged for String Orchestra.<br> <br> A big band version of the song is used as the theme for The Danny Thomas Show (a.k.a. Make Room For Daddy).<br> <br> "Danny Boy" was used to represent Northern Ireland at the start of the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, sung by a choir of children on the Giant’s Causeway.<br> <br> On November 25, 2014, the Vancouver Canucks used the song in honor of the recently deceased Pat Quinn, who played and worked in many executive capacities for the team.<br> <br> There are various theories as to the true meaning of "Danny Boy". Some listeners have interpreted the song to be a message from a parent to a son going off to war or leaving as part of the Irish diaspora.<br> <br> The 1918 version of the sheet music included alternative lyrics ("Eily Dear"), with the instructions that "when sung by a man, the words in italic should be used; the song then becomes "Eily Dear", so that "Danny Boy" is only to be sung by a lady". In spite of this, it is unclear whether this was Weatherly’s intent.<br> <br> Why the name Londonderry Air? Londonderry and Derry refer to the same place, a city in the north of Ireland, and also to the surrounding county. Supposedly the city of Derry was founded by St. Colmcille, although archaeological evidence shows that people were living there thousands of years earlier. There is an excellent museum in the city, which is worth a visit if you want to find out more. The name of the city was actually "Doire", corrupted to "Derry" by people who can’t pronounce Irish. It thought to derive from an Irish root meaning "oak tree".<br> <br> Moving quickly along in history, about a millenium later the government of England was having a difficult time colonizing Ireland because of the fierce and warlike clans living there, especially in the north of the country, Ulster. The monarchs of England, almost all of whom were notorious cheapskates, were continually looking about for ingenious ways to conquer places without actually having to put up the money themselves, or run the risk of unpopularity if they lost. In the case of Ireland, some of these schemes of the "Brish gummit" (as it is termed nowadays in Ulster) are still producing unfortunate long-term consequences.<br> <br> In 1608, King James I gave the city of Derry to the City of London corporation. I guess the deal could be summed up by saying that if the City of London could figure out a way to chase all the inhabitants out of Derry, they would be allowed to keep the loot, minus a percentage for the King of course. If they lost, well too bad. In celebration of this historic agreement, the name of Derry was officially changed to Londonderry. (For further information, check out the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s History of Derry.)<br> <br> The linguistic outcome of all this today is that, if you think that King James’s deal with the City of London was a good idea, you call both the city and county "Londonderry". If you do, you are probably a supporter of the Unionist movement that seeks to keep Ulster a part of the United Kingdom. If you think it was a bad idea, you call both "Derry", and you are probably a supporter of the Irish Nationalist cause. Or you might just be someone who thinks it’s confusing for kings to be going around changing the names of places all the time for no good reason.<br> <br> You can find plenty of discussion about the political side of the question elsewhere, but here let’s look at the musical side. We have an air, collected in county Derry/Londonderry, and it doesn’t have a title. What do we call it?<br> <br> If you were a proper Victorian, there’s no way you were going to call it the Londonderry Air, much less the Derry Air, because of the improper sentiments that these titles might suggest. My parents tell me that in their youth in Australia, it was usually called the Air from County Derry. (This would, I suppose, support Winston Churchill’s theory that Australia was inhabited by "convicts and Irishmen".)<br> <br> My mother also sends the following information, referring to an arrangement of the tune by the Australian composer Percy Grainger:<br> <br> Just another note about Danny Boy, that I grew up in Australia believing to be the Air from County Derry. We were looking through some LP’s last night (back to vinyl yet!) and found a Mercury Wing Classical Favorites stereo LP SRW18060, COUNTRY GARDENS and other favorites by Percy Grainger {played by} Eastman-Rochester Pops, Frederick Fennell, conducting. The cover notes included the following: "Irish Tune from County Derry was harmonised in memory of Irish childhood friends in Australia." Considered by many to be Grainger’s masterpiece of harmonization, the tune was collected many years ago by Miss Jane Ross of New Town, Limavady, Ireland. Grainger has set it for many instrumental combinations. So there’s another variant on the name for it. It doesn’t say who wrote the notes, but the bits in quotes for each of the works on the record are Grainger’s original comments.<br> <br> The references to Londonderry Air that I’ve seen don’t go back any earlier than the late 1930s. For example, the Glenn Miller Orchestra recorded Danny Boy (Londonderry Air) in February 1940. Bing Crosby’s version was recorded in July 1941 (reference). (So many different things I could check up on!) Londonderry was an important American naval base during WWII, but the US hadn’t come into the war in 1940.<br> <br> Need an anthem fast? They are ALL in my store! All my anthem arrangements are also available for Orchestra, Recorders, Saxophones, Wind, Brass and Flexible band. If you need an anthem urgently for an instrumentation not in my store, let me know via e-mail, and I will arrange it for you FOC if possible! keithterrett@gmail.com<br> <br> Contact Publisher Related Scores

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.893864 Composed by David Kai. Celtic,Folk,Pop. Score. 5 pages. David Kai #6100233. Published by David Kai (A0.893864). A song celebrating the people of Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador in Canada who helped close to 7,000 stranded airline passengers after September 11, 2001. The story of Gander and the surrounding towns has been immortalized in the Broadway show, Come From Away. The song is written in a Celtic/Newfoundland style. This song is dedicated to my spouse Marly's parents, Isaac and Sybil who were a part of the crew who helped the plane people in Gander through their involvement in the Anglican church. WHEN THE WORLD DROPS IN TO TOWN Words and music by David Kai ©2020 On the 11th of September, in a quiet little town In a place that they call Newfoundland, all the planes were coming down Just how many were arriving, it was hard to know or tell In a quiet town in Newfoundland on the day the towers fell. With ten thousand waiting on the ground, seven thousand on their way The schools and halls and churches were preparing for their stay And not only in Gander, but in places all around ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town. Chorus: So raise a glass to them, let’s sing a song to cheer For all the workers, cooks and clerks, for all the volunteers Who showed such kindness, who stepped up when chips were down ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town All the stores they opened up their doors, the supplies, how fast they flew! Take it all to help the plane people, it’s the least that we can do! Aunt Winnie baked two dozen of her partridgeberry pies She said, I think those plane people will be in for some surprise! So the people were all settled, and much to their delight There were home-cooked meals and showers in homes, even trips to see the sights Though they came from countries ‘round the world, they did seem to all fit in And in kitchen parties here and there, new found friends were being screeched in. Chorus: Soon the skies, they were reopened, just a week and they were gone Though the planes took off into the skies all the memories lingered on For what they all remember, and what’s talked of to this day Is how townsfolk cared for people who had come from far away. So let’s sing and let’s be thankful, for each and every one Who showed us how to live together in the year two-thousand one, Let’s celebrate their kindness, for we never will forget, That in Newfoundland a stranger’s just a friend you haven’t met. Chorus:

This arrangements sets verses 5-8, 14, and 23 from Psalm 50: 1.Gather my faithful ones before me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. And the heavens proclaim his justice; for God himself is the judge. 2.Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, I will testify against you; God, your God, am I. Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you, for your burnt offerings are before me always. 3.Offer to God praise as your sacrifice and fulfill your vows to the Most High. Double Bass,String Bass Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1347908 Composed by Alan Edgar. 21st Century. Individual part. 10 pages. Alan Edgar Ted Moon #932722. Published by Alan Edgar Ted Moon (A0.1347908). Jacques Cousteau, Father of the Aqualung, wrote: The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder for ever. This piece, for virtuoso double bass, imagines a scuba-diver encountering large animals, and consists of a suite of short depictions of animals in the form of variations on a melody plus a recurrent new melody representing the diver's smooth movements and bubbles. The variations are: Lobster Jazz Waltz, Sea-anemone Belly-dance, Tuna Tune, Luminous Light Show, Dolphin Fling, Jaws Serial and Blues Whale Pavane. The piece lasts about eight minutes with repeats.TECHNICAL NOTE The C harmonics will be a pip flat--they are only bursting bubbles anyway!Scuba Fins tries to feel the quiet calmness and agelessness of the underwater world, using the ancient and universal major pentatonic scale C,D,E, G,A ,C. The rhythm is mostly steady and simple, but triplets indicate the occasional extra effort. Now and again, he glances down at the infinite depths. Tintinnabulation and soft staccatissimo arpeggios represent the bubbles. Lobster Waltz is a jazz waltz with many staccato notes and leaps representing the many appendages and the tangle of lively giant crustaceans.Sea-anemone Belly-Dance pictures the soft body and tentacles swaying under the waves, using the Arabic scale Shad 'Araban, roughly G,Ab, B,C,D,Eb,F#,G and influenced by a dance to the folk tune known as Bint El-Salabiya.Tuna Tune is a quick moto perpetuo in the cheerful major mode, septuple time, the rapid rise and fall of the phrases and of volume reflecting the powerful shoal's unpredictable, ceaseless movements, approaching and retreating.Dolphin Fling is a stathspey, or highland fling, using the major mode and typical dance rhythms including the Scotch snap to depict the weighty but intelligent dolphins enjoying their leisure time and perhaps dancing with the diver.Jaws Serial reminds us of the fear a shark generates, using the dissonant 12-note serial mode and unpredictable leaps and pauses. The opening slow trill will chill you as it invokes the Jaws film theme by John Williams. You might even hear the diver's heart sink and the snap pizzicato of the teeth snapping. The prime row is the nearest possible to the original theme: Bb, Ab, F, Eb, B, C, E, G, Db, D, Gb.A, but I have followed the contours of the main themes. Blues Whale is a pavane, a slow, stately processional incorporating the typical renaissance drum rhythm. and using a blues scale, G, A, Bb, C, C#, D, F, G, and an implied 12-bar minor blues harmony.

Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1354408). Instrumental version of my improvisation on Louis MacNeiceis Bagpipe MusicThe original poem is: It's no go the merry-go-round, it's no go the rickshaw,All we want is a limousine and a ticket for the peepshow.Their knickers are made of crêpe-de-chine, their shoes are made of python,Their halls are lined with tiger rugs and their walls with heads of bison.John MacDonald found a corpse, put it under the sofa,Waited till it came to life and hit it with a poker,Sold its eyes for souvenirs, sold its blood for whiskey,Kept its bones for dumb-bells to use when he was fifty. It's no go the Yogi-Man, it's no go Blavatsky,All we want is a bank balance and a bit of skirt in a taxi.Annie MacDougall went to milk, caught her foot in the heather,Woke to hear a dance record playing of Old Vienna. It's no go your maidenheads, it's no go your culture,All we want is a Dunlop tyre and the devil mend the puncture. The Laird o' Phelps spent Hogmanay declaring he was sober,Counted his feet to prove the fact and found he had one foot over.Mrs Carmichael had her fifth, looked at the job with repulsion,Said to the midwife 'Take it away; I'm through with overproduction'.It's no go the gossip column, it's no go the Ceilidh,All we want is a mother's help and a sugar-stick for the baby.Willie Murray cut his thumb, couldn't count the damage,Took the hide of an Ayrshire cow and used it for a bandage. His brother caught three hundred cran when the seas were lavish,Threw the bleeders back in the sea and went upon the parish. It's no go the Herring Board, it's no go the Bible,All we want is a packet of fags when our hands are idle. It's no go the picture palace, it's no go the stadium,It's no go the country cot with a pot of pink geraniums,It's no go the Government grants, it's no go the elections,Sit on your arse for fifty years and hang your hat on a pension. It's no go my honey love, it's no go my poppet;Work your hands from day to day, the winds will blow the profit. The glass is falling hour by hour, the glass will fall for ever,But if you break the bloody glass you won't hold up the weather.

Concert Band - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1377507 Composed by Jonathan Bush. Arranged by Sam Fettig. Children,Pop. 37 pages. Sam Fettig #962100. Published by Sam Fettig (A0.1377507). https://www.samfettigmusic.com/BLUEY FOR BEGINNING BAND!The original Bluey Theme uses a 3-2 clave rhythm for the entire song. This two-measure pattern ends differently every other time, creating a four-measure pattern that occurs throughout and never changes! All students (except the shaker) play this pattern at the very beginning, establishing the basis for the entire arrangement.Only six notes are used. Students’ familiarity with the music will be an asset as they tackle a melody that may be a new challenge to them. With this in mind, the melody is always doubled or cued elsewhere; no section will ever have to play it alone. There are four opportunities for either a soloist or a soli of any combination! These occur at bars 21, 25, 49 and 53.  Have fun with these spots, giving everyone an opportunity. It will, of course, need to be mapped out for a performance. Students will shout the Bluey characters’ names just like the show’s theme. There is one spot to insert a name of your choosing - a student, teacher, administrator, family member, or pet! Alternatively, you can replace any of the character’s names to truly personalize the song. I hope you and your students enjoy learning and performing Bluey!

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1307229 Composed by Janice Kapp Perry. Arranged by Mark Gubler. Children,Christian,New Age,Religious,Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Mark Gubler #896486. Published by Mark Gubler (A0.1307229). The gospel of Jesus Christ is simple. We are commanded to love God and everyone around us. All the other commandments are given to point us to these two great commandments. In this arrangement the music surrounding the lyrics love one another as Jesus loves you keeps coming back throughout. It represents that though we may get distracted by all the things that we feel we should be doing, there is power in always returning and centering our lives around loving as Jesus loves.Song Lyrics 1. I’m trying to be like Jesus; I’m following in his ways. I’m trying to love as he did, in all that I do and say. At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice, But I try to listen as the still small voice whispers, “Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught.†2. I’m trying to love my neighbor; I’m learning to serve my friends. I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again. I try to remember the lessons he taught. Then the Holy Spirit enters into my thoughts, saying: “Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught.â€.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1466523 Composed by Hal Sharper and Jerry Goldsmith. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 4 pages. Timothy Stapay #1045091. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1466523). Free As The Wind was composed by Jerry Goldsmith, a very prolific composer of film scores. This is the main theme from the movie Papillon starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. This arrangement is written for intermediate piano.Yesterday's world is a dream like a river that runs through my mind Made of fields and the white pebbled stream that I knew as a child Butterfly wings in the sun taught me all that I needed to see For they sang sang to my heart oh look at me look at me Free as the wind free as the wind that is the way you should be. Love was the dream of my life And I gave it the best I knew how So it always brings tears to my eyes when I think of it now Gone like the butterfly days And the boy that I once used to be But my heart still hears a voice Telling me look , look and you will see There's no regret that I feel For the bitter sweet taste of it all If you love there's a chance you may fly If you fall, well you fall Rather the butterfly life To have lived for a day and been free For my heart still hears a voice Telling me look and you will see.

A song of comfort about God's abiding care. There's never been a friend so dear than He Who conquers all my fears.A friend Who's constant and so near - He's always there, He's always there. When my faith seems small and weak, then His promises I'll seek. And through His Word, I'll hear Him speak. He's always there. He's always there. For every hour of every day, He'll walk beside you all the way. For every minute that passes by, throughout your life, He will abide. There's not a moment that He's not there to guide your steps and show His care.So take it to the Lord in prayer, He's always there. He's always there.Oh, how wonderful to know that my Father loves me so.No matter where on earth I go, He's always there, He's always there. And when my journey here's complete, I'll worship at my Savior's feet. Forever in that land so sweet. He's always there. He's always there.  For every hour of every day, He'll walk beside you all the way. For every minute that passes by, throughout your life, He will abide. There's not a moment that He's not there to guide your steps and show His care.So take it to the Lord in prayer, He's always there. The King, by Dennis McCorkle, is a contemporary pop-rock musical of the first two kings of Israel, Saul ben Kish and David ben Jesse and explores the contrasting lives and outcome of each man’s choices in life. [2 Samuel 11:12-13 - And David said to Uriah: ‘Tarry here to-day also, and to-morrow I will let thee depart.’ So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow. 13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk; and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.] In fear of being exposed, DAVID has her husband brought back from the field with the hope that he will have relations with his wife covering up his own indiscretion. URIAH, a conscientious soldier, returns home, but sleeps outside on his steps out of respect for the men still fighting on the front. Seeing that his ploy has not worked, he has URIAH and some of his men over to the palace for drinks [Pour Me Another One – Troops, Uriah and David]. Getting URIAH drunk, DAVID has him escorted home, but as before he sleeps outside. As a last desperate measure, he sends a letter for JOAB (David’s commander and confidant) back with URIAH to place URIAH on the front line and then have the rest of the troops pull back leaving him exposed. URIAH is killed. Also included with your order is our new 20 page catalog of over 150 titles at no additional charge.

Lying and pretending than inside me nothing is missing a pathetic clown always happy and smiley I write music and words to tame the fire inside me because only we know where this pain is taking us where are you? where are you? my sweet missing link you will come back to fill my mind I step back once again and I am limbing next to you hand in hand resigned, while the grey was oppressing for the two of us at every awakening a battle would start I pushed that moment back I didn't wanna be awake but you always protected me even from a cruel child my fearless sister so storng and independent you used to talk to me about guys and how to kiss them I used to blush and my heart beating fast I will look for and call my missing ring and you will answer with the same silence used to ask me if you were beautiful with that storng make up on you looked like a sad Pierrot tired of being avoided you were uncomofortable and people used to push you away many ignorant hypocrits looking like saints and again the two of us together in the open abyss me climbing up slowly but you remain behind I give you my hand but your destiny was written you fall down deep and far in that damned hell it will shine, it will shine my missing ring I will show it proudly to the people and you flew away in that boiling July the freeze inside my heart you, unconscous and paralyzed and for your last travel few hopeless people for the life she used to live it's better that she s gone but they know nothing about it about your unheard shout of my diamonds ring dropped in the mud freedom is a meaningless word oh you, bling and deaf butterfly your wings are now open you will fly, I will fly and I will delete the distance I will find my missing ring.. Whether beginner or experienced musician, these scores can be used in numerous ways from solo playing to playing with a partner or as a group. A note and chord reference chart is included as well as a rhythm pattern chart. Descriptions, suggestions, and uses for each score and chart are detailed on the introduction page and summarized below:Melody ScoreThis score can be played as a solo with or without singing along. These numbers correspond to the numbers on the Tongue Drum. Lyrics appear below the staff for sing along enjoyment. Harmony ScoreThis score can be used in conjunction with the Melody Score to form a duet by providing the accompaniment (harmony) while someone plays or sings the melody. Note numbers below the staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum. Chord names are shown above the staff for playing a rhythmic accompaniment in place of the harmony accompaniment shown. The chord names can also be used for ensemble playing with other instruments (such as a Ukulele or Guitar).Grand StaffThe Grand Staff score combines the Melody Score with the Harmony Score. This score provides a visual overview of how the two scores line up and is helpful for a director or teacher using this set of scores in a group setting. If playing with a partner (a duet), this score may be easier to use since you both can see what the other person is playing. This score includes note numbers above the melody staff and below the harmony staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum; chord names shown above the harmony staff for ensemble playing with other instruments or for using a rhythmic chord accompaniment; and lyrics between the staves for sing along enjoyment. Any combination of the notes within a given chord can be played using one of the rhythm patterns. Rhythm ChartThis chart shows four rhythm patterns that can be used as an accompaniment for the melody. Text: When I think of my childhood and all it did bring, (5, p.u. , 6-9) what I remember most is that you always would sing. (9-12) Through the good and the bad, the happy and sad, (13-14) no matter what happened you always did sing. (14-20) There were times I know it was hard for you. (21 pu, 22- There were many things that you had to go through. (23 pu, 24-25 I’m sure there were times when your strength was all gone, (25 pu, 26 and you felt it impossible for you to go on. (27 pu, to 29) Yet somehow within you there was always a song (30 pu, 31- ) that renewed your faith and helped you be strong. (to 37) I learned that no matter what life might bring, (38- it would all be okay if we could still sing. (to 45) I think of the journey you have valiantly fought ( and all of the lessons that to me you taught. You taught me to have faith in my Savior above; you have shown me how to truly love. (to 54) Chorus: You have blessed so many lives; you have touched our hearts. Many tears will be shed when from us you depart. Now your journey soon must come to an end, oh how I will miss you, my dear mother, and friend. (to 66) Yet my life will go on, more challenges to bring, but I’ll be okay, because you taught me to sing. Oh what joy you will feel as you look on his face, and kneel at his feet in that glorious place. (to 79) As you bask in his light he will say to thee, (82-85) “My Daughter, your life has been pleasing to me. (86-89) You kept the faith, you fought a good fight, now take my hand and enter into the light. (to 98) Then joining his angels your voice will ring, as to him your praises you bring. For in that great place, throughout eternity, with Heavenly choirs you will still sing.

Snowball.Text:How Can I Be Like Christ?“Come, follow Me . . .†(Luke 18:22)How can I be like Christ while on the earth? How can I live His ways and heed His words? How can I love the same as He loves me?How can I be aware and help those who plead?Follow His ev’ry step; go where He leads.Love ev’ry friend alike, or enemy.Lighten each burden shown from suff’ring souls.Shepherd them to His side; He will make each whole. How can my walk through life show God I care? Will others know to trust so I can share? How do I reach each one when in a crowd? Can I still help these souls ev’n though sin abounds?Follow His ev’ry step; go where He leads.Give of your meager store when one’s in need.Search for the lonely heart with eyes attuned.Loving each child of God can diminish wounds. How can I be like Christ, ev’n as I am?He gives sure promises; I am His lamb.As I go where He leads, gath’ring His souls,My love will shepherd them where Christ makes each whole.

Small Ensemble Hand Drum,Handpan,Steel Pan,Ukulele - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.657621 By Sharon Wilson. By Daniel W. Whittle and James McGranahan. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 10 pages. Sharon Wilson #266177. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.657621). This sheet music is notated for C major diatonic scale Tongue Drums (suitable for any 8, 11, or 13-note drum in the key of C). This hymn arrangement can be performed as a solo, as rhythmic chord accompaniment for singing, or as a duet. Four separate scores are provided for maximum flexibility. Those new to reading standard music notation as well as those already familiar with music notation will find the numbers above the staff helpful. Advanced Solo ScoreThe Advanced Solo score includes harmony notes along with the melody notes to create a fuller sounding solo which can be played with or without singing along. Numbers corresponding to the numbers on the Tongue Drum are included above the staff.Note and Chord ChartThis chart consists of two separate staff rows. The first staff shows the notes used for the melody. The second staff shows the notes in each chord used in this song. Any combination of the notes within a given chord can be played using one of the rhythm patterns. Rhythm ChartThis chart shows four rhythm patterns that can be used as an accompaniment for the melody. Using the Harmony Score or the Grand Staff, follow the chord names to play notes from the given chord using one of the rhythm patterns. This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Hymns of Faith for 8-note C major diatonic scale Tongue Drums (A collection of 10 Solos and Duets).Visit Sharon Wilson's website: www.SharonWilsonMusic.comSubscribe to her YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/SharonWilsonMusic

String Trio Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1193717 By Blake Shelton. By Ben Hayslip, Josh Thompson, and Matt Dragstrem. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Country,Pop,Rock,Wedding. 13 pages. Sarah Cellobat Chaffee #793190. Published by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee (A0.1193717). *INSTRUMENTATION: VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO*Released in 2017 as the lead single from Blake Shelton's album Texoma Shore, I'll Name The Dogs is a fun, upbeat country-pop gem that has since brought joy to people everywhere -- enough that it landed the song at #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay charts! Lyrically, the song is an adorable story describing the singer's readiness to settle down and start a family with his girl, complete with all the ways he's ready to share their life adventure together (eg. you name the kids and I'll name the dogs). The song's theme of matrimonial bliss and its old-school country charm has made it a popular request for weddings and events, so you can't go wrong adding this one to your gig books! This Cellobat arrangement for your violin, viola, and cello string trio maintains the cheerful vibe, country feel, lush harmonies, and sing-along-able melodies of the original for a chart that's sure to get your audience dancing. Rated advanced-intermediate due to a number of syncopated and otherwise tricky rhythms throughout -- it might be good to look over this one for a moment, but it will be learnable for students and sightreadable for professionals.Sarah “Cellobat†Chaffee is an in-demand acoustic & electric cellist and string arranger. Currently, she performs with legendary rock band Aerosmith in their “Deuces Are Wild†residency show, and she is the principal cellist for the Raiders House Band, playing for a crowd of 60,000 at all of the team's home games. She also plays with many other groups including Premiere Wedding Music, Bella Electric Strings, the Femmes Of Rock, and David Perrico’s Pop Strings Orchestra. Sarah has performed and recorded with numerous other artists including Disturbed, Mötley Crüe, Celine Dion, Halsey, Michael Bublé, Sarah Brightman, and Lady A. She is the exclusive arranger for a number of award-winning wedding and event companies all across the United States, including Premiere Wedding Music, Las Vegas Music Oasis, and Impulse Strings, and she has created custom arrangements for many other ensembles all over the world. Le jardin englouti (The Sunken Garden/Minuet) - Intermediate Impressionist Piano Piece for Ravel Pre

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799621 Composed by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #5791453. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.799621). From my in-progress collection of intermediate and late-intermediate piano compositions in Impressionist styles, this is an homage to Maurice Ravel's piano writing as shown in his minuets (like the middle movement of the Sonatine and the minuet from Le tombeau de Couperin). It means The Sunken Garden, and I'll explain why below. It introduces techniques that Ravel frequently uses but that less-than-advanced students rarely encounter in repertoire at their level: sometimes-awkward hand and arm crossings, extended tertian chords (9th/11th/13th voicings), large rolled chords, and some modal writing, to name a few, while still maintaining a clarity of voicing that students will find in Ravel's own music. All of these can be disorienting to students encountering Ravel's music for the first time, so students will benefit from Ravel-preparatory repertoire, like this piece, that introduces these techniques.Since most currently published collections of Impressionist-style pedagogical repertoire focus on Claude Debussy's language, this piece is a welcome addition to the student piano literature and will help bridge the gaps between standard teaching repertoire and pieces like Ravel's Sonatine, while also exposing students to a new, rich, and inviting tonal language that will inspire them to seek out more of Ravel's compositions. On a more personal level, this piece was inspired by the Sunken Garden, a former landmark on the Indiana University campus that sat across the street from the practice building in which I taught dozens of piano students, coached numerous singers, and learned piles of repertoire before moving away last year. The Jordan Hall greenhouse now sits on the former Sunken Garden site.Because the Wells Quad dorms are right next door, I hear this piece as a recollection of a social dance night that the dorms probably held frequently back when the Sunken Garden existed. Wells Quad served as a classroom/academic office complex for years after Jordan Hall was built in the 50s, but they are now back-converting the buildings into dorms again. (As of this writing, two of the buildings now serve as dorms, while the other two are still academic buildings. While I was pursuing my doctoral minor in composition, the composition professors' studios were almost all in Wells Quad's Sycamore Hall. They upgraded to the East Studio Building as soon as they could, though!).
