Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.535382 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 187 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3025403. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.535382). The Revelations of Divine Love (Metaphors from Sea and Sky) (2009), an oratorio for soprano, baritone, chorus, and chamber orchestra (0000.1100.1perc.strings), was commissioned for and is dedicated to the choir ofRoyal Holloway, University of London and Rupert Gough, director of choral music. The texts of the work are adapted primarily from the writings of Julian of Norwich (c. 1342–1416).Julian is best-known for her Sixteen Revelations of Divine Love (c. 1393), believed to be the first Englishlanguagebook written by a woman. Considered one of the most significant English mystics of alltime, Julian lived a reclusive life as an anchoress at the Church of St. Julian in Norwich, England (hertrue name is unknown). Regarded even during her lifetime as a spiritual authority, her optimisticvisions have been very influential in the years that have followed.Texts are also drawn from three additional sources: an excerpt from the Book of Margery Kempe(translated by Christopher M. Brunelle), two poems by English poet Robert Herrick (1591–1674),and a poem by the American writer Elizabeth Kirschner (b. 1955).The primary concept underlying this oratorio is the presence of two distinct discourses. One is asequence taken from Julian’s religious visions. The other is a sonic geography of Nantucket Island(located 30 miles off the coast of Massachusetts in the United States). This interconnected conceptwas inspired by the writings of the great Scottish poet George Mackay Brown (1921–1996). Livinghis entire life on Scotland’s Orkney Islands, Mackay Brown consistently explored the transpositionof religious imagery and events to his native landscape. (For example, the poem Apple-Basket, Apple-Blossom takes the story and structure of the Stations of the Cross, and maps them onto imagery ofdistinctly Orcadian character.)The landscape of Nantucket Island has been the driving force behind a large number of mycompositions for many years. In this oratorio, Julian’s visions are transposed from Norwich andmapped onto the Nantucket landscape. Each movement of the work thus has two parallel purposes:a setting of the visionary words, and a portrayal of a specific place in Nantucket’s geography. Muchof the music was planned in the actual locations. Since the soloists and choir must, by necessity, singthe words, a great deal of the landscape is left to the orchestra. Thus, the orchestra’s role issubstantially greater than simply accompaniment.Because of these two discourses, the oratorio is not intended as comprehensive working out of allaspects of Julian’s visions, nor does it use her own structure and sequence. Rather, it takes herbeautiful words, and the fundamentals of her visions, and attempts to create a new narrative andspiritual experience from them. This is the full score. The vocal score is available for sale. The parts are available on rental from the publisher.

Small Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522187 Composed by Tielman Susato. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christmas,Holiday,Renaissance. Score and parts. 26 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #6371719. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522187). The instrumental music of the renaissance is enjoying an enormous revival and this arrangement of two dances is sure to brighten up your musical event. The dances come from one of the earliest collections of instrumental dance music, published in Antwerp in 1551 by Tielman (or Tylman) Susato and entitled Danserye. Little is known of Susato’s life except that he was born sometime between 1500 and 1515 and eventually became a successful calligrapher and publisher. Danserye contains about sixty numbers some of which have become well known since their revival in the middle of the 20th century. The two rondes in this arrangement are the first and sixth dances taken from a set of nine. Some of the dances have names and the first ronde is entitled Pour quoy? It is paired with the sixth ronde which has become one of the most well-known pieces in the collection. Several changes have been made to the inner parts to facilitate performance and the first ronde has been transposed down a fifth. Musicians would often combine several dances to make a more substantial piece and were expected to add embellishments to the melody, particularly in repeated sections. In the spirit of the original, this four-part arrangement uses flexible instrumentation so that you have total control over the instrumental voicing. The arrangement could be played by virtually any combination of conventional wind instruments. This 4-part arrangement is presented in a single PDF file which includes the Full Score; Part 1 (C, B flat, E flat); Part 2 (C, B flat, E flat); Part 3 (C, F, B flat, E flat), Part 4 (C, B flat, E flat); Keyboard and Percussion. The optional keyboard and percussion parts are the additions of the arranger and do not appear in the original. This arrangement uses conventional percussion that can be found in any elementary school music room. The percussion parts may be interpreted freely and additional instruments added if required.

Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q17854). German. An important addition to our newly produced orchestral materials is the first publication of vocal scores of Wagner’s ten great operas, in every important version, based on the Complete Edition. * The score corresponds to the performance materials from the Complete Edition. * For practical use in rehearsal cues and bar numbers throughout. * The publisher has secured the services of renewed musicologists associated with the Richard Wagner Complete Edition who convey detailed information in critical forewords. * The forewords are given in three languages(German, English, French). * Uniform and attractive front cover designs with reproductions of paintings from the Wagner era underline the series design of the edition. PARSIFAL This piano reduction corresponds to the edition of Parsifal contained in the critical Complete Edition of the musical works of Richard Wagner (Richard Wagner, Sämtliche Werke, Vol. 14, I-III, edited by Egon Voss and Martin Geck, Mainz 1972f.) The chief source for the edition was Wagner’s autograph score, as the first printed score dating from 1883 on which all previous editions had been based had not been authorised by the composer and displayed significant deviations in comparison with the autograph. Further details can be found in the above-mentioned volumes of the Complete Edition.†(Amélie Pauli, quoted from the foreword of the new Parsifal vocal score; translated by Lindsay Chalmers-Gerbracht).

Arranged by Yuki Hasegawa. 20th Century,Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. 64 pages. Edition les bons concerts #6664631. Published by Edition les bons concerts (A0.1033844). Dora PejaÄević, born in Budapest in 1885 and died in Munich in 1923, was a composer of the Croatian noble family. This is one of the fascinating collection of her works that allow for deep expression through the use of harmony that sometimes pushes the limits towards her later years, as is typical around the beginning of the 20th century. The arrangement for flute quartet was commissioned by the Japan Croatia Music Society and was completed in July 2021, and premiered in Tokyo on 6 August by the Flute Quartet Tsutsu-uraura. The recording/Youtube is by Ms. Mari Akimoto (Fl.1), Ms. Natsuki Oba (Alto Fl.), Mr. Atsushi Kawasaki (Fl. 3), Ms. Shiho Shirasaki (Fl. 2).Arranger Yuki Hasegawa, biographyArranger, pianist, conductor and producer.Shortly after enrolling in the piano department of Kunitachi College of Music, she was appointed as the official accompanist for the flute public lecture, and since then she has co-starred about 150 works in the flute repertoire. After leaving for study abroad in Paris, she often performed as the official accompanist for flute competitions and masterclasses there also, and won four first prizes in a duo with flute. She completed the departments of piano accompaniment, chamber music, écriture musicale and orchestration at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris-CNR and others. She also studied écriture musicale at the CNSM-Lyon. She studied under Profs. Alain Louvier, Bernard de Crépy and other representative professors in France in terms of composition and arrangement. She later completed the conducting biennio department at the Milano Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado, and in recent years has been the guest conductor at the Japan Croatia Music Society. She travels to various parts of Croatia to research music, visits music research institutes and composers, and strives for understanding. As a chamber musician, she has also worked on numerous experimental harmony works of the same era as Dora PejaÄević, and has also recorded on CD.She is a member of the Irish Music Rights Organisation and the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society in U.K. Her works can be licensed for use by representative organisations in each country.Representative of the Edition les bons concerts and cooperating artist of the Pro Arte Musicae Co., Ltd. Cello,Flute,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488235 Composed by Johann Baptist Wanhal. Arranged by Uwe Grodd. Classical. 52 pages. Artaria Editions #1065122. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1488235). Artaria Editions AE379 The flute writing in Wanhal's quartets is a good deal less virtuosic than the solo writing found in Hofmann's quartets. The principal reason for this lies in the greater equality of part-writing and in this respect Wanhal's quartets are more modern and technically advanced than those of Hofmann. One prime example of this can be seen in Wanhal's adoption of the modern alla breve notation in first movements in preference to the fussy eight-in-a-bar favoured by Hofmann and others. There is also a greater emphasis on the development of thematic material although not to the same extent or intensity that one encounters in the composer's symphonies. In keeping with the conventional practice of the period the flute quartets were conceived to be played with a variety of possible instruments on the top part. The London publisher Welcker, for example, issued the Op. 7 set with the title page Six Quartettes for a / Hautboy or German Flute whereas Sieber styled them Six Quartetto Concertante / Pour une Flute au Hautbois. Copies of several works from the set are preserved in manuscript as string quartets and at least one work as a clarinet quartet. There is good reason to believe that the six flute quartets under consideration were conceived as a set and probably intended for immediate publication. They first appeared under Huberty's imprint in 1771 (as Op.8) and may have been composed reasonably close to the publication date. Whether Wanhal sent the works direct to Huberty is uncertain. It is very interesting to note, however, that Sieber issued the same works in a new edition the following year - it was announced on 28 January 1772 - and this seems to have been the basis for the later (undated) Welcker edition published in London and many of the extant manuscript copies. In the absence of both the autograph score and an authentic set of parts, this edition presents as faithfully as possible the intentions of the composer as transmitted in the Sieber print. A number of variants have been adopted from other sources, notably the Welcker edition, on the rare occasions where they appear more convincing than Sieber's text. The style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardised throughout and, where missing from the source, markings have been reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets. Like most eighteenth-century sources, the present manuscript is inconsistent at in its notation of appoggiature ; these too have been standardised to minimise confusion. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; text underlay, where confused in the source, has been corrected; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets. Small Ensemble Cello,Multi-Percussion,Soprano Saxophone - Digital Download SKU: A0.934204 Composed by Mark Zanter. Contemporary. Score and parts. 24 pages. MJIC Music Publishing (ASCAP) #3130833. Published by MJIC Music Publishing (ASCAP) (A0.934204). Elemental Spiral is the result of some of my recent work linking elemental aspects of esoteric. The work begins with an electronic prelude, and moves to the instrumental portion at about 4:00.healing and vibration (sound). The concept of matter and form being integrally connected and influenced/formed by sound has been studied since ancient times, and myths from various world cultures mention gods or beings that could manifest form from matter through their voice. Recent work by Hans Jenny verifies the connection between sound and form (see Cymatics).Similarly, the power of music to affect response in individuals is a popular subject of ancient and modern writers. My interest in the work stems from observing how people react to my music, in which I believe certain thoughts and feelings are somehow encoded, transmitted and received during performance. My research stems from a desire to increase my own awareness of sound, its affect, and to connect this to my art. The integration of dance with the music creates a visual relationship that marries the sound and its intention.Elemental Spiral maps elemental associations (earth, water, fire, and air) to the musical context in a deliberate fashion. At this stage my associations are fairly literal, and various qualities (i.e. earth=slow, fire=energetic, air=fast frenetic) are mapped directly onto musical material. The associations become richer when one state changes to another or comes into being (water->air, becoming earth etc.) and when various qualities are mixed (air-pitch with earth rhythm etc.).The intended effect is an overall balancing of the musical structure with desirable or pleasing proportions (the age old compositional question). This balancing is well known to all of us, for instance-elementally-much of Beethoven’s music moves between water and fire elements (mapping of speed and pitch), and the tempos of symphonic movements fast-slow-med. fast-fast is an affirmation that a balance of tempi and musical content is found to be pleasing.I express my deepest gratitude to Donald Laney who choreographed the dance for this work. He was somehow able to convert my musings into movement and in the process far exceeded my expectations. Special thanks also to the WV Commission on the Arts and the NEA whose support made the creation of this work possible.Elemental Spiral is suitable for advanced performers.Performance materials available for purchase from the publisher: mjicmusicpublishing@gmail.com
