Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1469514 By Meghan Trainor. By Kevin Kadish and Meghan Trainor. Arranged by Tabitha Beaven. A Cappella,Pop. Chords/Lyrics. 4 pages. Tabitha Beaven #1047554. Published by Tabitha Beaven (A0.1469514). Part of a 'Pop Song Layer Up' series - these arrangements are designed to be quick, easy wins for choir or singing group warm-ups and fun filler songs. Essentially a 'long form' round, it takes three elements of Meghan Trainor's 'Dear Future Husband' and layers them up. As with singing any round, it provides great brain training and stretch for singers to concentrate and focus on their part and not be swayed by the multiple rhythms and notes moving around their part. The arrangement provides a structure but is designed to be explored and experimented with to see what works, ideal to build confidence for both group leader and singers trying something new together. A key chart showing four different keys has been provided with note range and starting notes should an alternative key be more suitable for your vocal group. Suggest using off-beat finger clicks or a metronome beat to keep time. Backing tracks may be available in future. Suggested structure to try:Start with a group on Voice 1 (alternatively this can be the full group before split into different groups)At the repeat sign Voice 1 moves to Voice 2 and a second group start on Voice 1At the repeat sign, Voice 1 moves to Voice 2, Voice 2 moves to Voice 3 and a third group starts as Voice 1If the third group to come in sings all three parts, it will mean 5 repeats in totalAgree a sign with group and when reaching the end of the last repeat - move to the Coda to finish offMost importantly, it's something to have a little bit of fun with and freshen up warm-ups exercises.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Vibraphone,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987848 Composed by Robert M. Greenberg. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 54 pages. Robert M. Greenberg #90285. Published by Robert M. Greenberg (A0.987848). Preferred Contact Information: RMonteverdi@comcast.net Performing Rights Organization: BMI Website: robertgreenbergmusic.com Facebook Band Page: facebook.com/RobertGreenbergMusic Duration: ca. 12 minutes Year of composition: 2006 Program Note: The mind searches for the oddest of couples. Felix Unger and Oscar Madison. Julia Roberts and Lyle Lovett. The violin and the vibraphone. Aside from the letter V, the two instruments have almost nothing in common. We consider: the violin is the most aristocratic instrument in the Western musical tradition, the prima donna of the instrumental world, an instrument that has had, lavished upon it, more extraordinary music than any other since its invention roughly 475 years ago. And then there’s the vibraphone, a percussion instrument with pitched metal bars and motor-driven resonators that produce a vibrato. Invented around 1925, it’s an instrument created for dance bands and popular music. Anything You Can Do . . . is a confrontation between these two musical opposites. A sense of contest characterizes the entire piece, as the vibraphone seeks to establish its bona fides side by side with the violin, which in turn attempts to keep the vibraphone in its place by beating it at its own game. The first movement is conceived as a race, in which each instrument acts like the other – the violin explosively and percussively, and the vibraphone with lengthy bowed passages – while seeking to shake off the other. The movement concludes with the violin paying a series of huge, chords and a long, sustained triple-stop that, much to its fury, the vibraphone manages to match with a sustained double-stop of its own. The movement ends in a draw. The second movement begins with the violin doing its best to match the vibrato patterns of the vibraphone’s variable motor. Ultimately, the violin breaks free and plays a broad, arioso-styled melody. The vibraphone tries to match it, but cannot; try as it might, its fixed range cannot reach the stratospheric heights of the violin. Advantage violin. The third movement is constructed in three sections. In the outer sections, rapidly rising and falling lines and counter rhythms pervade as each instrument seeks to gain an advantage over the other. In the middle section, alternating, hocket-like phrases give way to bent notes and glissandi in the vibraphone, which infuriates the violin (how dare this upstart percussion instrument do something ordinarily associated with me?). The movement concludes with the violin once again attempting to lord its greater range over the vibraphone by playing a long sustained F# - the same pitch that conquered the vibraphone at the end of the second movement – only to have the vibraphone top it by playing a harmonic a full seven notes above the F#. Game, set, match: vibraphone. Some respect, please, for the new kid on the block. Anything You Can Do . . . is dedicated, with a thousand-and-one thanks, to Victor Romasevich and Jack van Geem.

A Childes Garden of Ecologickally Correct SONGES
Small Ensemble Guitar,Piano,Ukulele,Voice - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.992357
(+)
Small Ensemble Guitar,Piano,Ukulele,Voice - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.992357 Composed by Tim Fatchen, Flying Tadpole. Children,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 44 pages. Flying Tadpole Productions #3467356. Published by Flying Tadpole Productions (A0.992357). TEN CHILDREN'S SONGS for adults and smarter kids: it's satire but ecologically, it's CORRECT! The Songes are a satirical counterpoint to the fluffy guff that's so often passed off as kids' songs. They're fun to sing, easy to play, sufficiently gross to satisfy the bloodthirsty urges of older children, entertaining and, seriously, quite scientifically correct. Honesty in children's songs, a new thing in the world! All the Songes have been tested on line and at public performance. ECOLOGICAL REALITY BYTES! It's not all sweetness and light and tree-hugs out there in the Wonderful Ecological World, oh no! So here's the start of a re-education in ecological reality for you! Explore the murderous wooden hearts of trees! Learn the real reason for the decline of Fairy Penguins! Find your place on the Food Chain! There's an architecturally-acclaimed how-to blend your house with nature! And there's more!LEAD SHEETS, LYRIC SHEETS WITH CHORDS, LINER NOTESEach of the Songes can be printed separately as a 4-page booklet, with the lead sheets on the central two pages, the title and liner notes on the front page, and the lyrics only + chords on the back page.PARENTAL ADVISORY! While there's no profanity or overt/covert sexual innuendo anywhere, some adults find the content challenging, because it's not the view of Nature they'd like to have. Kids find these Songes great, especially the grosser ones, and may be able to help such adults cope. There should be parental or other adult guidance in anything like this because it is satire and may need explaining, and it's not for young children. FLYING TADPOLE AND TIM FATCHENThe virtual band Flying Tadpole started as a boat and turned into a state of mind. Mainly the cutting satire, cruel humor, blue angst and general mayhem of the scurrilous and dark alter ego of Tim Fatchen, Flying Tadpole is occasionally joined by others unwise enough to cross to the Dark Side, but wise enough to remain on another Continent. Both lurk in the depths of Mr Dunn's 1844 Mill, in Mount Barker in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, South Australia, and try not to be a blight on the landscape. The piece was one of the stand-out cuts, receiving a wide variety of radio play, and bringing the trio’s music to new audiences. Written originally for the mandolin, it surely is one of O’Connor’s most memorable mandolin melodies. With the aid of Edgar Meyer arranging the fabulous cello and bass solo sections, the piece can be performed in a variety of instrumental settings. The mandolin part could be also covered by guitar, piano, harp or most any chordal instrument. The piece was named by a young music student at an inner-city camp for underprivileged youths. At his workshop, O’Connor performed his new piece on the mandolin and asked for the kids to help him name it. The title, Butterfly’s Day Out, helped O’Connor complete his vision for the tune. The whole experience also inspired the idea for O’Connor to start his own Fiddle Camps. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels. The whole experience also inspired the idea for O’Connor to start his own Fiddle Camps. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels. Soprano voice and tenor voice soli, SATB choir unaccompanied - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8323-E Composed by David Conte. Advanced/Collegiate. Secular, 21st Century, Americana, Children, Creation/Nature, Hope/Assurance. Instrument part. 9 pages. Duration 5 minutes, 42 seconds. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8323-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8323-E). UPC: 600313483233. English. The three a cappella choral pieces that comprise “A Whitman Triptych†were composed between 2012 and 2014. O Setting Sun was commissioned by the Madison Chamber Choir, Madison, Wisconsin, Anthony Cao, conductor, and was premiered on April 20th, 2012. “What is the Grass†was composed for Cappella SF, Ragnar Bohlin, conductor, and is being premiered on tonight’s concert. Facing West was commissioned in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge by the International Orange Chorale, Zane Fiala, conductor, and was premiered on May 27th, 2012. I first set Whitman to music in 1986,when I adapted part of “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloomed†as the basis for my composition “Invocation and Dance.†I went on to set “Good-Bye, My Fancy†for Male Chorus and Soprano Saxophone in 1992, and “Song of the Open Road†for Mixed Chorus and Piano in 2004. Like so many composers, I have found the visionary quality of Whitman’s verse inspiring; the vigor and intensity of the poetry seem naturally to draw out music. Facing West is drawn from the Children of Adam book from Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. The full title of the poem is Facing West From California's Shores. Though Whitman never visited California, his biographer Justin Kaplan made the insightful observation that he imagined California's shores to be the starting point for a journey through time and culture. Here was Walt, 'a child, very old,' facing home again, looking over to it, joyous, as after long travel, growth, and sleep, asking: 'But where is what I started for, so long ago?/And why is it yet unfound?' The invitation from the International Orange Chorale to compose a piece in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge led me easily and naturally to this great poem. The tone of Facing West is rich and complex, and draws on one of Whitman's favorite themes of using travel to distant lands as a metaphor for spiritual development. In his poem, Whitman strikes notes of reflection, of longing for adventure, and ultimately ends with a question. The continuing relevance of this question is for me beautifully addressed by the contemporary American writer Edmund White in his 1980 book States of Desire. To paraphrase somewhat, White writes: California is where dreams may come true, and the problem it presents is whether, after all, we wanted these particular dreams to be fulfilled - or would we have preferred others? Did we know what price these dreams would exact? Did we anticipate the ways in which they would unsuit us for the business of daily life? Or should our notion of daily life itself be transformed? For Americans, California's coast is as far as one can go in establishing new roots and new ways of living. As a transplanted Midwesterner who has made California his home for nearly three decades, I experience the Golden Gate Bridge as a beautiful monument to the aspirations and dreams of a restless and inventive people, qualities that Whitman's poem captures perfectly. -David ConteDuration: 5:42

Instrumental Solo,Piano,Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.761542 Composed by Emma Arandjelović. 20th Century,Contemporary,Film/TV,Multicultural,World. Score and individual part. 39 pages. Masquerade Music #6120357. Published by Masquerade Music (A0.761542). Changing Landscapes for saxophone and piano was written by Scottish composer Emma Arandjelović and consists of three beautifully musically descriptive parts of a journey... It is aimed at saxophonists of around grade 4-6 level and is a refreshing addition to anyone's sheet music library. Two of the three pieces were recently chosen to be included on ABRSM's (The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) Eb and Bb exam syllabus (from 2022 onwards). 'Leaving' as chosen for grade 7, and 'Changing Landscapes' for grade 6.Please view the YouTube video for the full suite. This PDF book comes with; Universal saxophone part (so playable on ANY saxophone), two piano accompaniment parts (one for Eb sax, the other for Bb sax) and full demonstration and accompaniment backing tracks (for both Eb, and Bb saxophones) which are available free of charge on request (see details on your sheet music after printing out). Leaving starts us on our travels, and you can feel the slightly optimistic viewpoint initially as the saxophone and piano playfully sing. A little later however it's as though doubts and anxieties have crept in... (included on Grade 7 ABRSM exams from 2022 onwards).Changing Landscapes (movement 2) propels us forward through twists and turns, almost as if the thoughts are in equal turmoil as the scenery that rushes by. By the end of the movement however, it's very much like these have been resolved, and a peace and newly found optimism is evident in the final movement. (included on Grade 6 ABRSM exams from 2022 onwards).Turning Point (movement 3) is both playful (with its 5/4 time signature) and full of hope as the future comes into view with fresh new beginnings.....

Alternate arrangement for Violin, Flugelhorn and Piano, Aug 2023.Dedicated to Simon, Leo and Wellington School as a parting gift. Scored for Violin, Horn and Piano. Premiered in St George's Bristol, September 2019. “And then we see†is dedicated to the wonderful people I have met throughout my journey in Wellington School, especially to two of my very good friends – Simon, a euphonist; and Leo, a ‘cellist. Originally planned to be written for Piano, ‘Cello and Euphonium, and to be finished and performed in our last school concert as a goodbye gift, I had however not managed to complete the work before graduation. I have therefore taken this opportunity to express my emotions and sentiments from the time with this newly written piece. One can therefore very easily sense the nostalgia pouring right from the very beginning of the music, as I reminisce our years together. It is based loosely on a ternary structure (ABA) – the A section depicts the moment of farewell. One can hear the violin plays a very simple, bell-like melody, representing the bell-strikes which signify that it is the end of a long journey – time to say goodbye. The B section, based on the very same melody, transforms itself into a 6/8 dance. This dance depicts the pang and melancholia as we bid farewell, leading to a passionate climax. The A section then returns with the melody in its original form, announced by the horn. The coda concludes the piece, trying to move away from the tonic, representing the start of a new chapter in our journey and our optimistic feelings about it. Throughout the piece there are also quotes from the famous Westminster chimes, and variants of it, enforcing the bell imagery.

Heavy Metal for Balinese gamelan and chamber ensemble
Small Ensemble Bass Guitar,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013048 Comp…

Small Ensemble Bass Guitar,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013048 Composed by Christine Southworth. Contemporary,World. Score and parts. 76 pages. Airplane Ears Music #5802059. Published by Airplane Ears Music (A0.1013048). HEAVY METAL (2006, 18') for Balinese Gamelan Gong Kebyar, guitar, violin, bass, lyricon, and robotic instruments. Commissioned by the Boston Museum of Science with the support of NEFA and Meet the Composer. Premiered on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Cahner's Theater in the Boston Museum of Science as part of Music & The Invasion of Technology, performed by Gamelan Galak Tika, Blake Newman, Erik Nugent, Todd Reynolds, and Eddie Whalen. Heavy Metal represents a new kind of fusion, multi-dimensional, making connections across cultures acoustic and electronic, western and eastern, high and low, human and machine. The piece was written for Gamelan Galak Tika, a Balinese gamelan in residence at MIT that has worked with electric instruments many times in the past, but this is certainly the first time a traditional Balinese gamelan has shared the stage with robotic instruments. In other ways, though, there is something very natural about these combinations: they reflect the way we all experience music in the 21st century. It could also be argued that this is simply an extension of the way music has always progressed and changed, as Chinese shawms morphed into oboes, and exotic middle eastern percussion instruments, like the cymbal and triangle, worked their way into the symphony orchestra. Heavy Metal engages the full force of two ensembles, Galak Tika and Ensemble Robot, as well as a living history of electroacoustic instruments, from the vintage lyricon to the Whirlybot. The sounds implicit in both senses of the title find their way into new combinations of struck bronze and excitable circuitry. Heavy Metal is based on American hard rock music from the late 1970’s through the early 1990s. The idea started as a pun, because the keys of many Balinese gamelan instruments are made of metal, but when I began studying the melodic ideas and rhythms in heavy metal music, I found that they leant themselves very well to gamelan. The problem was that a gamelan has a very specific sound and limited timbral variation, the sounds of hit metal and skin. I feel that the sounds of the gamelan become much more interesting when combined with string sounds. Also, the gamelan uses a pentatonic scale so I am using western instruments and robots to expand the sound universe to a full spectrum. In this piece, the gamelan and the western/robotic instruments play separately – rhythmically they are together, and they are working through the same material at the same time, but the western instruments and robots do not play the 5 notes that the gamelan plays, and more often than not they stay out of that key (a variation of E Major, the gamelan tuning being C#, D#, E, G, and A) altogether. This creates a sense of two harmonic worlds co-existing and cooperating, the West and our technology with Bali and their technology, much more primitive but very powerful nonetheless.About the ComposerChristine Southworth (b. 1978) is a composer and video artist based in Lexington, Massachusetts, dedicated to creating music born from a cross-pollination of sonic ideas. Inspired by intersections of technology and art, nature and machines, and musics from cultures around the world, her music employs sounds from man and nature, from Van de Graaff Generators to honeybees, Balinese gamelan to seismic data from volcanoes. Small Ensemble Cello,Oboe,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576733 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. David Warin Solomons #90581. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576733). Mysterious piece in octatonic mode, originally written for the short story The Door The pdf file contains score and parts. The sound sample is an electronic preview. High up on the grassy hill behind the town there is a door. It stands there in its frame with nothing before or behind it. It is locked shut. There is no key. We climb the hill each day. We play each side of the door, games of hide and seek. But we cannot go through the door. Each day we go there during this long sultry summer holiday. We are fascinated by the structure. Why would anyone put a door up there, in its frame, eternally locked, with nothing before or behind it? Maybe it is all that remains of an ancient house? We play, we wonder, we laugh and play, and we return regularly to our homes in time for tea. Then, one day, as we climb the hill for the umpteenth time, a lady dressed in white arrives before us. We watch her take the key out of her bag and insert it in the lock. We are too far downhill to catch up before she closes the door behind her. As we arrive, puffing and panting, Steve knocks on the door. No answer. Dave knocks on the door more forcefully. We hear a distant swish of robes. Gloria knocks, perhaps a little more timidly as the swishing sound approaches. Estelle begins to knock in her turn and the door suddenly opens wide. We all gasp as we see the lady standing there in glistening robes. Her face is hidden from view by a white shawl, but her piercing eyes still show. Children, she says, welcome all. Do come in, please, the kettle is on. You are just in time for tea. We hesitate, as well we might. How can we come in when there is nothing before or behind the door? But Estelle puts one foot inside and looks back at us with a curious expression of serenity on her face. We follow her. We look around at the new space beyond the door and at the parquet floor beneath our dew-soaked feet. As our eyes become accustomed to the brightness of the interior we catch sight of many signs of the world we have entered, but only fleetingly. They pass before our eyes in an instant and then flee beyond the range of sight. There is a staircase, a hat stand, a distant gleam of an ancient cooker, a faint whiff of scones and boiling jam. As we walk inside, our senses are overwhelmed with the new reality, we are rooted to the spot. Do please sit down, says the lady with a slight catch in her throat. We are seated on wooden chairs along one side of an oak table, although we cannot recall how we got there, some slip of the memory perhaps. We have no sense of foreboding, Estelle's serenity has passed to all of us. We can stay here eating scones and jam until the end of time. The lady removes her shawl and reveals a face as beautiful as anyone's mother's. Her deep black eyes glisten like obsidian. She beams a smile of welcome and pours the tea. I'm glad you have come. I've been expecting you, she begins. You must have a thousand questions, so do please ask away. Well, says Steve, what is this door that we passed through? Is this another world? There is no other world, the lady replies, this is the only one. But there is! There is! starts Dave excitedly, Look!. He gets up quickly from the chair, knocking it over in his haste and rushes to the door to open it. He pulls at it with all his force and reveals a black nothingness behind it. We were on the hill, where's it gone? he shouts, what have you done to it? There is no hill. But you climbed the hill in front of us says Gloria. There is no hill. Even Estelle of the serene demeanour is beginning to look worried. How did we get here then, how did you get here, she asks the lady nervously. We have all been here since the beginning of time, the catch in the lady's throat is becoming more evident. No, we have our families down there in the town cries Estelle You have no families,.

Obelisk: A Tribute to Ukraine
B-Flat Clarinet,Cello,Flute,Percussion,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A…

B-Flat Clarinet,Cello,Flute,Percussion,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1283414 Composed by Eugene Astapov. 21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary. 49 pages. EAMUSIC #874599. Published by EAMUSIC (A0.1283414). Obelisk is a work that was built as a response to the atrocious events happening in the war between Russia and Ukraine. As a composer who was born in Ukraine, I felt very deeply for the hardships of the people of my country and this work is a direct emotional response to the images I see and stories I hear. The central part of the work features pre-recorded interviews with some of the Ukrainian civilians telling their harrowing stories of loss, struggles, and fight for survival.  When I was a child, my parents made the difficult decision to leave the country due to the beginning of another war Russia’s Putin started in Chechnya and my parents knew - one day he would be coming for Ukraine. As someone who immigrated to Canada at a young age, I experienced all the difficulties associated with finding new life in a new country. I saw the struggles of my parents and now I see the struggles being experienced by people fleeing Ukraine.  Throughout the work you will hear the sonic accompaniment to the pain and suffering that Ukrainians undergo on daily basis, you will hear their voices and see images of the brutality committed against the people of Ukraine. This is a heavy work to experience, but as an artist I feel it is only appropriate to raise awareness around the issue and show the people the horrors going on in the world.    The title of the work was inspired by the famous monument erected in 2001 to mark the occasion of the 10thanniversary of Ukraine’s Independence from the Soviet Union. At that point it appropriately replaced the monument of Vladimir Lenin. Towering on top of Kyiv’s Independence Square (famously known as Maidan) at 200 feet, this obelisk celebrates the nature of the Ukrainian independent spirit and directly reflects my ideas through this musical composition with the hope that the powerful Ukrainian nation will prevail over its enemy once again.  This PDF includes Score and Parts.

The narrator may choose one of two texts: A: The Troubles of an Automaton (Excerpt) by Clementina Maria Black B: The Table and the Chair by Edward Lear. The start of each section of Narrator text is indicated in the score with boxed text. Where necessary the end of a text section is shown as unboxed text. The additional section after Fine 1, starting at bar 101, is optional and can be performed with or without the A6 narration. It is also possible to perform the whole piece without the Narrator, provided the texts are available to the audience.Programme note: This piece may be performed with one of two texts: 'The Troubles of an Automaton (Excerpt)' or 'The Table and the Chair'. 'The Troubles of an Automaton' was written by Clementina Maria Black (1853-1922) and published in the New Quarterly Magazine in 1876. The story begins with a fictional advertisement announcing a public exhibition of Mr. Slade's Famous Chess-Playing Automaton. 'The Table and the Chair' by Edward Lear (1812 - 1888) appeared in his collection 'Nonsense Songs' published in 1870. In the poem a table and a chair go for a walk around town, become lost, are taken back to their house by a group of small animals, and then dine and dance together.

Small Ensemble Alto Voice,Piano Accompaniment,Soprano voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1513097 Composed by Phillips Brooks and Lewis H Redner. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christian,Christmas. 9 pages. Connie Boss #1087980. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1513097). This version has an optional beginning. I have choir humming for the first three measure. There is a soloist that starts singing after that. The optional part is to not play the piano until half way through the verse. There is accompaniment if you prefer. You can hear on the mp3 how it sounds being a cappella until then. It is for SSAA voices. I have also added additions to each verse that is different than the original with new lyrics and music. It adds a little bit to this iconic song.
