Double Bass,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1446334 Composed by Ken Litton. Arranged by Ken Litton. Christian,Jazz,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Accompaniment. Duration 213. Artist of Note, Inc. #1026140. Published by Artist of Note, Inc. (A0.1446334). MP3 Accompaniment [~3:30]Angel, Blow that TrumpetWords & Music by Ken Litton (ASCAP)SATB or TTBB Piano, opt. String Bass, Clarinet, Trumpet & TromboneMany choirs/ensembles haven't done many trumpet-feature songs in the last decade or so. But, since the trumpet figures so prominently in the Bible why not try one?! And, since both the anthems and contemporary worship songs of today tend to neglect the second coming of Christ here’s an offering from the spiritual/anthem/jazz confluence.Angel, Blow that Trumpet is based on I Corinthians 13:50-57 and I Thessalonians 4:13-18. The style? Well, let’s call it “Natalie Sleeth meets New Orleans jazz!”You’re almost sure to find the voicing very approachable, yet thrilling for SATB (TTBB and SSA also available). The accompaniment is a dixie-land styling originally conceived for piano, string bass/fretless electric bass/standard bass guitar (it would be fun to have someone do it on the “big bass viol”), Bb clarinet, trombone and Bb trumpet. These parts are included with the choral score.Above all, it's fairly easy to learn and fun to sing! The clarinet and trombone parts are a lot of fun and the trumpet part features an easily playable/adaptable ending that nails the piece (actually the lower version is really nice). Plus, with the single exception of swinging the eighth note pairs, there’s no improvisation required here. These parts are really best for good, legit players just as written. And, though I know that you have more than enough skill to get all of this from the score, the audio file in mp3 format (3:32) will also available separately. All this from the places you go for the best in downloadable resources:Sheet Music Directhttps://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/se/ID_No/1538200/Product.aspxSheet Music Plushttps://www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/explore?q=Ken+Litton&lang=defaultAs well as via Hal Leonard InStore™ retailers. Also…be sure to check out other titles from East of the Altar/Artist of Note, Inc.Thanks, as always to the good folks at ArrangeMe.com, a division of Hal Leonard.

Published by Connie Boss (A0.801685). This Christmas song brings you back into the time of Mary and Joseph. They thought they were just normal, ordinary people until one day that all changed. I can't imagine how they must have felt and how they changed their lives to do God's will. Can you? This is in SATB choir, optional instruments (cello/violin/cello) with parts and with piano. The melody gets around to every part during the song. It has a bridge at the end. I think you will enjoy this song and the meaning of it as well. cdboss@cvalley.net Lyrics below:

Instrumental Solo,Tin Whistle - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1159834 By Carole King. By Gloria Shayne and Noel Regney. Arranged by Cindy Blevins. Christmas. Individual part. 8 pages. Cindy Blevins #760096. Published by Cindy Blevins (A0.1159834). Note: You can see an excerpt of both the solo without fingerings and the solo with fingerings. The blank pages you may see in the samples are there on purpose to avoid showing more than the music sample. This arrangement is for solo (unaccompanied) Tin Whistle. You receive the tin whistle part without fingering diagrams, the same part but WITH fingering diagrams and a comprehensive fingering chart for your tin whistle. So if you enjoy playing the notes on the staff, there is a part for you! And if you need the diagrams for learning, or for using every time, there's a part for you! Tin whistle isn't just for Irish music, it is extremely versatile and fun to play! Please note, my Tin Whistle is a high D. I write for D whistle because it is a very common key that many people have. The fingering chart I put together shows the D scale, with chromatic fingerings you may need some day! But if you're playing a different key of whistle, you can also play this piece. It is unaccompanied, and all keys of tin whistle are fingered the same. So follow the part with diagrams if you need to.If you have a pianist in your life, there is a piano and tin whistle arrangement of this piece listed separately (I am not allowed to bundle them for reasons of copyright).

Large Ensemble Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869309 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. With Pluto … The Lord of the Underworld. (2005) This year, 2009, he asked me if I would be interested in writing a work for narrator and chamber orchestra like Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf.†I said, “Yes. I would be delighted to do so.†He. 90 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #431371. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869309). Program note. Maestro Charles Ansbacher has been a devoted supporter of my work for many years. In the past 6 years he has commissioned me to write two works for his ensemble, the Boston Landmarks Orchestra: 1) Mambo!!! (2003) 2) Pluto … The Lord of the Underworld (2005) This year, 2009, he asked me if I would be interested in writing a work for narrator and chamber orchestra like Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. I said, Yes. I would be delighted to do so. He told me that the subject for this work would be Boston’s own landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. Sure, I said, why not? Charles told me he had a poet in mind who would provide the text, Nancy Stevenson. I said, Great! The work is in four parts, following Ms. Stevenson’s poetic design. I wrote a marching music in Part One depicting Mr. Olmsted when as a child he walked from his home to his aunts and uncles who lived far away. As a young man, Mr. Olmsted went through many jobs until he decided that as a landscape architect he could make cities a better place for children and adults alike. The mayor of Boston hired him to do just that, to make Boston more livable. In Part Two, I wrote presto music depicting the dredging of the Charles River and the planting of trees along its shores. In Part Three, the text describes the Boston Emerald Necklace – the paths that lead from the Fens to the Arboretum to Franklin Park. For this section I chose music that is bucolic and pastoral, a setting that evokes the country side with a flock of sheep, complete with a shepherd and his dog. In the last section the text describes Mr. Olmsted’s dream that in his parks there would be tranquility and rest to the mind … a place where the rich and the poor would play together. The music returns to the legato march that began the work.

Today, his Prélude à l’Après-Midi d’un Faune, is one of the most beloved works in the repertoire, certainly among flutists. That being the case, we’re likely to have a certain color and texture in mind when we play the flute part. So, what can we do to make our practice of this familiar piece more interesting? How about trying to achieve those desired qualities while playing it in different keys or in the extreme high and extreme low registers? You’re not likely to produce the usual languid, transparent sonority if you start the famous opening solo on high F sharp, but there is much to be learned by trying to do just that. Then, when you return to the original tonality, you may find that you have greater command of the passage’s tone color and quality than you’ve ever had before!

Piano,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.1069977 Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Pop. Full Performance. Duration 184. Boothe Publishing #4633725. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.1069977). Most of the mistakes I made in life were between the ages of 12-16 years. Somehow I felt that I was smarter than I was. I thought that my friends were smarter than they were. I felt invincible. I made many foolish mistakes during those years. About that time, my family was preparing to move from Oregon to Utah. I remember my mother talking with me and saying that I could start over again. We would be in a new place with new people. No one would know me. I could be the person I truly wanted to be. I thought about this a lot, and when we finally made the move I had decided what kind of person I really wanted to be. In fact, I felt bad for being the wrong kind of person and hurting other people physically and spiritually. I eventually felt so bad about my mistakes that I decided that I would write or call the people I had hurt and apologize to them. Over the period of a year I was able to find, call and apologize to each of them. To my great surprise none of them were still angry with me. I was forgiven. That was a great feeling. This day will be forever what you choose. Once you leave this life you won't be able to return and right any wrongs that you have committed. So when you make a mistake, choose to make it right today so that this day, this day of good choosing will be what will last forever. Never let yourself do something that you know inside is wrong. If your friends are trying to talk you into doing something you know is wrong, don't just sit there and listen to them. Get up and leave the room, or the party, or the situation. Be true. Be the one. Be the son or daughter of God. Do what He would do.

Ode to My Savior Beginner Trumpet Trio

Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1079739 Composed by Eddie Lewis. Classical,Instructional,Sacred. Score and parts. 6 pages. Tiger Music #683926. Published by Tiger Music (A0.1079739). I have said this in the description for other pieces, but it’s worth mentioning again. I believe that trumpet students should begin performing from the start of their careers. The problem with this belief is that there isn’t much good music written for the beginners to perform. Most of what is published is “dumbed down†and doesn’t sound like real music. I have been trying to fill that cap by composing pieces for the beginners that I would be proud to perform in public. My objective with these compositions is to write music that sounds like real music, but functions within the limitations of the beginners’ trumpet skills. My first compositions of this nature were the three bird solos, Bird March, Feathered Friends and The Purple Parrot (which I let my then current students name). One of those students performed the Bird March solo at a school assembly only three or four months after she started playing the trumpet. That student eventually quit trumpet to pursue a busy performance career in theater (she was an elementary school student) but performing the Bird March for her fellow students is a memory she will always fondly look back on. That is part of why performing early in the learning process is so important. You don’t know when students will continue, and which ones will not. For those students whose trumpet careers end up being no longer than a year, the one or two performances they have in that year are all they will have to look back on. Unfortunately, those who do not perform at all will only ever remember the drudgery of pointless practice and rehearsals. But there’s more to my early performance philosophy than just that. For those students who do continue their trumpet careers for many years, the earlier performances have a mental benefit that cannot be replaced in any other way. Their future progress on the trumpet is greatly enhanced by each performance they present in the first two years of their trumpet careers.

Ungaresca & Almande Poussinghe (Recueil de Danseries, 1583)
String Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1041170 Composed by Pierre Pha…

String Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1041170 Composed by Pierre Phalèse Jnr. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Renaissance. Score and parts. 18 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #645901. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1041170). These two dances are taken from a collection entitled Recueil de danseries, contenant presque toutes sortes de danses (“Collection of dances, containing almost every kind of dancesâ€) published in Antwerp in 1583 by Pierre Phalèse Jnr (c.1545-1629). He was continuing the work of his father Pierre Phalèse the Elder (1510-1575) the most important publisher in the Low Countries during the 16th century. The piece known as Ungaresca evokes the atmosphere of street music rather than that of the court and the drone accompaniment that Phalèse provides suggests the sound of the peasant bagpipes. As the name implies, the dance came from Hungary though it may have simply been a dance in the Hungarian style. Even so, the melody was tremendously popular during the fifteenth century though the author is unknown. The dance calls for a lively performance, and you can use plenty of percussion to enliven it. This music was meant for dancing and entertainment and musicians would often combine several dances to make a more substantial piece. In this arrangement, the rather wild Ungaresca is paired with the stately Almande Poussinghe. The music would have been played by any instruments that happened to be available. The dances still retain their freshness and charm today and are sure to be popular at any concerts, public recitals or end-of-semester events. This arrangement is for virtually any string ensemble and the single PDF file includes a full score and parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola (violin 3), cello and bass (combined), keyboard and simple percussion. Two additional melody part are provided in the treble and bass clefs and the chords (for optional guitar) are shown in both keyboard and cello-bass parts. In the spirit of the original publication, you can add to the melody line any other C-pitch instruments that happen to be available. Even the additional of a couple of recorders will enhance the sound. Alternatively, you can do opposite and create a pleasing contrast by omitting various instruments for certain sections. The audio demo will give you an idea how this might be achieved. The keyboard part is intended as a guide and when possible, the keyboard player should feel free to improvise around the part and the chords shown. A digital or acoustic harpsichord sounds more authentic than a piano. Most electronic keyboards have a harpsichord option. The optional percussion instruments used are similar to those found in elementary school music rooms and usually include a tambour or hand-held drum, antique (finger) cymbals, wood-blocks and tambourine. Two or three players can be used (but feel free to add more) and the parts can be interpreted quite freely. Dance music is intended to be fun, and we hope that this arrangement brings you just that.

String Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1038231 Composed by Pierre Phalèse. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Renaissance. Score and parts. 17 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #643162. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1038231). Unlike country dances, the formal dances of royal courts in the sixteenth century required a good deal of study and practice. Many dancing masters published self-help instructional books, especially in France and Italy. Composers and publishers saw a commercial potential in collections of dance music and one of the earliest collections was that by composer and publisher Tielman (or Tylman) Susato, who published his Danserye in Antwerp in 1551. These music books were usually arranged with four independent instrumental parts and intended for use by any instruments that happened to be available. The dances still retain their freshness and charm today and are sure to be popular at any concerts, public recitals or end-of-semester events. The Pavane was a slow and dignified processional dance popular in Europe during the 16th century. This arrangement is for virtually any string ensemble and the single PDF file includes a full score and parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola (violin 3), cello and bass (combined), keyboard and simple percussion. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1018135). Following from the success of the Hits of the Renaissance for Strings, featuring well-known dances from Terpsichore by Michael Praetorius, this arrangement is from another classic book of dances from the same period. Pierre Phalèse (1510-1575) was a Flemish publisher and his First Book of Dances, an extensive collection of dances in four parts, was published in Leuven in 1571. They are attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts, public recitals or end-of-semester events. This arrangement is for virtually any string ensemble and the single PDF file includes a full score and parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola (violin 3), cello and bass (combined), keyboard and simple percussion.
