Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1399445 By Vasil Belezhkov. By Vasil Belezhkov. Arranged by Vasil Belezhkov. 21st Century,Children,Classical,Folk. Individual part. 26 pages. Vasil Belezhkov #982729. Published by Vasil Belezhkov (A0.1399445). FOREST TALES is a collection of 10 pieces that aim to acquaint classical guitar students with the unequal time signatures most commonly used in Bulgarian folk music  (starting with 5/8, all the way  to 15/8). Each of the pieces is aimed at mastering a certain technical element: the ‘Little Spider’ stretches the threads of its cobweb through a descending legato to an open string, ‘Dr. Woodpecker’ takes care of the bark of the trees through various percussion techniques, the ‘Fireflies’ glitter with the sound of natural harmonics, and so on.All musicians all over the world are familiar with dance forms like alemande and sarabande, menuette and waltz, tango and rumba, but how many of them are familiar with the different Bulgarian types of 'horo' (ring-dances)? Each piece in my 'Forest Tales' collection is predecesed by a text explaining which dances from which Bulgarian folk regions are typical for this or that time signature and how we are supposed to count the beats in it.I wish you a pleasant and fruitful time with this book!Vasil BelezhkovP.S. Some of the pieces also have piano transcriptions made by me.

Gavotte-Noskowski-mixed quartet
Small Ensemble Clarinet,Soprano Saxophone,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download

Small Ensemble Clarinet,Soprano Saxophone,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845261 Composed by Z Noskowski. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Baroque,Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 14 pages. Phil Beaman #6505981. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845261). Zygmunt Noskowski was the great Polish composition professor. He is best known for his symphonic works, but also wrote many piano pieces based on dances. I have taken his piano Gavotte and freely arranged it for Instrumental Quartet. Â This brisk piece is lively with a busy texture. I have crafted 4 independent lines that are each of equal importance and the focus quickly shifts from one part to the other. The lines rhythmically weave together, answering each other. The real interest in the piece is the constantly changing and contrasting dynamics and articulation. Often every beat of the bar has a different articulation, and the individual parts rarely have the same articulation at the same time. (i.e., One part might be slurred while another part is playing staccato and yet another is accented.) This complexity of texture creates energy and excitement. A great piece to spice up any concert with a fun smile. Â This composition is a fusion of multiple eras; originally written during the Romantic period, but with many Classical elements and a Baroque form and style, to which I add some Contemporary touches. Â Notes and rhythms are Intermediate, but adding all of the markings at this pace makes it Advanced Intermediate.6 page score, 2 page parts2:10 minutes

2fl. 2ob. 2cl. 2bsn - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM476 Composed by Liz Sharma. Double Wind Quartet. Score and parts. 23 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM476. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM476). ISBN 9790570483754.Permutations was originally written as a piece for Hampshire Double Reed ensemble directed by Andrew Knights. They first performed it at a Double Reed Society Day at Trinity College of Music. Later I wrote the clarinet choir version for a wind course in Scotland, & there are also a saxophone ensemble version, and mixed wind ensemble versions. The title 'Permutations' describes a piece in which all the parts are of equal importance, and play together in various different combinations, or 'Permutations'. The first movement contains some quite dynamic themes, the 2nd is more calm and pensive, but both contain contrasting passages. The 3rd movement - the 'Salsa' is full of exuberance and fun, but with some short contrasting passages in which the various instruments strut their stuff.

Small Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1003610 Composed by Adrian Borza. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 31 pages. Adrian Borza #2945709. Published by Adrian Borza (A0.1003610). Chaconne gives you a one-of-a-kind music experience, requiring not only to retune a classical guitar, but also to adjust the way you think about microtones. A standard guitar with no extra frets allows a completely different intonation than the twelve-tone equal temperament by producing quarter-tones. Chords will sound in tune on some strings, but this piece would have more out-of-tune notes on other strings.ISBN 978-606-645-037-9Format: Full score with two staffs, and an introductory text explaining the musical notation. Retuning procedure is also described.Level: This music is best suited for advanced musicians.Audio preview: First section, from letter D (bar 74) to E (bar 109).

Sonata for Multiple Woodwinds and Piano

Small Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Clarinet,Flute,Piano Accompaniment - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.837487 Composed by Brett L. Wery. Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 83 pages. Sonata Grendel Publishing #5330711. Published by Sonata Grendel Publishing (A0.837487). I’ve made a performing career out of the ability to play more than one woodwind instrument. In pits and bands all over the world multiple woodwind players, or doublers, are often the unsung heroes of the show. The first one in the pit and the last one out, they bring a technical knowledge of three, sometimes four or five different instrumental traditions not to mention an ability to play in any number of musical styles all in the name of saving the producer a little money. They spend inordinate amounts of time taking lessons, practicing, and dealing with reeds of all shapes and sizes. Over the years the doubler has become an indispensable artist and many top universities and conservatories now offer multiple woodwinds as a major. The Sonata for Multiple Woodwinds and Piano was written for myself and long time friend, colleague, and collaborator, Mark Evans. Professor Evans is a marvelously sensitive and powerfully technical pianist and although the piece is written with myself in mind as the doubler, I owe much of the inspiration to the twenty-plus years I’ve spent making music with Mark. It was my intention to create a sonata for multiple woodwinds that is not a novelty piece but provides the doubler with an opportunity to perform a serious work that explores the expressive and technical boundaries of their instrument(s). By the same token, the pianist is not an accompanist but an equal partner with the doubler.

Classical,Contest,Festival,Folk,Historic,Multicultural,World. 25 pages. Grant Horsley #1039943. Published by Grant Horsley (A0.1461035). A piano accompaniment track is also available as are other duet versions- Flute, Violin, Clarinet and Trumpet.Salento is a Modern Tarantella. Tarantella is a lively dance in 6/8 time featuring quick steps originating in Taranto Italy. The dance was originally a flirtation one where couples danced in a manner to entice courtship, however it is more known as a dance of hysteria for when a victim was bitten by a spider (tarantula), it was believed that dancing furiously with tambourines would cure them. This Tarantella is in ternary form and in A minor and the most complicated note value is a quaver and the highest note is top E. I have kept both parts fairly equal throughout and have placed it at Intermediate level, but on the youtube link there is the whole score for you to assess the suitability. It is ideal as a showpiece, useful for concerts, recitals or simply something a little different to play. It is 2 mins 45 in lengthPrice is for the score and parts.

Arirang (For Piano Trio)

Piano Trio,String Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.511808 Composed by Han-Ki Kim. Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and parts. 18 pages. Han-Ki Kim #6437551. Published by Han-Ki Kim (A0.511808). Arirang for Piano Trio Op.154EThis music is based on a string ensemble composed for Italian ensemble I Musici, they asked me to write a music to commemorate their 60th anniversary (2012). The conclusion of the idea that a music to celebrate their founding should be special was to write a music based on our folk song. Since the folk song “Arirangâ€, which contains the soul of our ancestors, is unique to Korea, it has great meaning in celebrating their anniversary with our own, and especially these days, when the desire to find ours is strong, our melody is performed on the world stage. I wanted to give a second meaning to what I left behind. I want both the performer and the audience to feel “musical sympathy†with this “Arirang,†which is an effort to give value as an artistic document to a folk song that is familiar to everyone. Following the short and fast introduction in 3/4 time, it is connected in the form of 5 variations in 6/8 time. Each variation expresses a different musical atmosphere, performance speed, or change in composition. In general, the main melody is mainly played by the first violin, but as far as the main melody is concerned, in this music, high-pitched instruments and low-pitched instruments intersect and cycle in equal positions, not in a melodicline relationship. After the fourth variation, a virtuosic solo of the movement alone is connected, and after the finale with a broad and majestic atmosphere, it ends with a short and lively coda with the same character as the beginning. Attached music is played by String ensemble just for a reference.

Arirang for Violin, Cello and String Orchestra “Arirang†is a representative folk song of Korea and a famous song widely known around the world. This concerto was composed to give value as an artistic literature to such a familiar theme. In this concerto “Arirangâ€, I want both the performers and the audience to feel “musical sympathyâ€.Following the short and fast introduction in 3/4 time, it is connected in the form of 5 variations in 6/8 time. Small Ensemble Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.961579 By Pink. By Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Arranged by Rebecca Willson. Pop. Score and parts. 25 pages. Rebecca Willson #5217671. Published by Rebecca Willson (A0.961579). This beginner string ensemble arrangement was written for a group I work with. They are keen to play current, well known pop and film music. This is often challenging as they may not have learnt all the rhythms required yet. My experience is that simplifying rhythms rarely works as the children will play it how they expect it to go anyway. Rather than simplifying the rhythms themselves, I have written them with the least amount of ties so what they see and hear is the same even if it is slightly unconventional to more advanced musicians. . There are four different parts but they can be played by each instrument. This means you can use the parts that suit your ensemble. Part A - Tune and accompaniment*Part B - Tune and accompaniment*Part C - Mostly open strings and 1st fingersPart D - Bass accompaniment* Part A and B are equal in difficulty level to discourage hierarchy in string sections. The string parts are complete on their own. However, it is possible to use the original piano part to support if required.

Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1254186 Composed by Joe Strachan. 21st Century,Blues,Classical,Jazz,Traditional. Brass Band. 37 pages. Joseph Strachan #847781. Published by Joseph Strachan (A0.1254186). I intend to compose using the structure of theme and variations, scored for a brass band which consists of an Eb Soprano cornet, Bb cornets, Flugelhorn, Eb Tenor horns, Bb Baritones, Tenor Trombones, Bass trombone, Bb Euphonium, Bb Tuba, Eb tuba and percussion. I intend to convey multiple moods and brass band techniques throughout my piece by creating blended harmony, jazzy rhythm, and modulation. With the theme, I intend to make the band blend in harmony with the music. Into the first variation to create different rhythms and to create a jazz mood. To create the theme, I intend to establish the key of Db major in 4/4 time with a homophonic texture. For Example, to establish the key of Db in bb.1-8. I intend to use the primary and secondary chords Db, Eb, Db, Bb, Eb, Bb, Db, Bb, Eb, Fm, Gm, Bb, Eb, Fm, Ab, Db. To strengthen the chords, I use the root note in the bass lines (e.g. Bb bass).  With creating the theme I also take into consideration having a structured flowing catchy melody to show the audience a clear statement that this is the theme. The Rhymtic features in the theme are crotchets and quavers. But which are soon to be embellished in the variations. The dynamic in the theme is mf (mezzo-forte)  and mp (mezzo-piano)  in the higher instruments.  And forte in the lower voices for balancing. The tempo marking is crotchet equals 60 beats per minute. In variation 1, I intend to maintain the original melody from the theme (solo cornet)  whole creating contrast with the inclusion of jazz-styled rhythms and dissonant chords. For example, I use a jazz-styled drum ostinato (bb. 9-61) Featuring dotted quavers and semiquavers. In addition to this, I feature dissonance with the use of 7th chords which can be seen at bb.18-26, 31-39, and bars  54-62 For example, in bars 18-26 the cornets are playing the melody in a four-part harmony only using 7th chords. The rhythmic features are more embellished using crotchets and quavers. But also using dotted quavers and semiquavers to show that this melody this a variation. The dynamics in the variation are extended with more instruments having a forte dynamic to have a strong expressive dynamic. Inspiration of this variation comes from people like (Maynard Ferguson, and Gordon Goodwin).

Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1473773 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Folk,Historic,Traditional. 20 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #1051492. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1473773). This is one of the most popular and best-loved folksongs of all time, made famous by Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and many others. The song is in the Dorian mode and thought to have originated over four hundred years ago. Scarborough (SKAH-buh-ruh) is an English coastal town in the county of Yorkshire. It was occupied by the Romans during the fourth and fifth centuries but today has become the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast with a thriving fishing industry. There are many different versions of the lyrics and by the end of the 19th century, dozens of variants existed. The repeated chorus of “parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme” is significant. In olden times, these herbs had medicinal purposes. In addition, parsley was associated with comfort, sage with strength, rosemary with love and thyme with courage. The song takes the form of a melancholy dialogue between two individuals who were once lovers but now live separate lives. Each of them asks the listener to pass on a message to the other. The young man requests impossible tasks from his former lover, saying that if she can perform them, he will take her back. In return, she requests equally impossible things of him, saying she will perform her tasks when he performs his. The fact that all the tasks are impossible seems to imply that neither of them have any intention of becoming reunited. This arrangement stays well within the instrumental ranges and attempts to reflect the melancholy feeling of the lyrics. This arrangement would make a splendid encore piece for a recital.

Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1452373 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Folk,Historic,Multicultural,World. 20 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #1031703. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1452373). This arrangement for woodwind instruments and piano stays well within the instrumental ranges and attempts to reflect the melancholy feeling of the lyrics. It would make an excellent addition to a woodwind recital.

Large Ensemble Bass Drum,Drums,Marimba,Multi-Percussion,Snare Drum,Vibraphone,Xylophone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.935386 Composed by Dan Heslink. Contemporary. Score and parts. 46 pages. Pharaoh Publications #6058011. Published by Pharaoh Publications (A0.935386). Sinfonietta composed by Dan Heslink Sinfonietta is a trio for vibraphone, marimba and percussion (xylophone, snare drum, and bass drum). Its expression is intended to be non-representational, presenting only an interesting technical construction in a suave formal organization. With the title the composer designates a single movement, with length and seriousness of expression approaching a symphonic movement. Its form approximates an expanded version of the classical sonata-allegro, dividing materials into three large sections. Beginning are the two main phrases of the principal theme, which establish patterns that are idiomatic throughout the movement. The first measure’s quartal harmonies divide into rhythms alternating the two hands, the right-hand posing a melody and the left-hand complementing it with harmony and rhythmic repetition. The phrase at measure 7 is a long-breathed melody for vibes accompanied by undulating chords in the marimba. A transition comprising highly qualitative rhythms (stated first by the marimba in m. 20.) has much identity. By measure 41, the transition has grown into a full secondary theme, one that is developed and repeated often throughout the movement. The exposition closes with a theme beginning in measure 51. It is announced by the vibes as another long-breathed melody unfolding over the active rhythm of the second theme. After a gradual dissipation, the development section starts at measure 92 with a new but related theme, heard first in the vibes. It offers a different key and an expressive melody slowly unfolding over rhythmically active harmonies. The remainder of this middle section explores nuances of the secondary and closing themes, and ultimately leads to the movement’s first climax. It eventually dissipates through a gradual reduction of density and tempo. The Reprise begins vigorously at m. 118 with statements of both the principal theme’s phrases. Then the second theme is transformed by the addition of bass drum strokes, which sets up a codetta. This section comprises a long crescendo on the new theme over a rhythmic tattoo derived from the second theme, and builds to a bold conclusion. Pedaling on the vibes is indicated with a solid bracket below the connected notes, and half pedaling with a dashed bracket. It is imperative that the percussion part be heard but not dominate. The performer is encouraged to experiment with a piccolo snare drum and 28 bass drum. Sinfonietta would serve equally well in a professional, college or advanced high school percussion recital. The composer assigns a difficulty level of medium difficult. Duration is 8:10. The composer, Dan Heslink, can be contacted at dan@dheslink.com.

Fl/cl/ob/asax/tsax/tpt - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM625 Composed by Yuri Povolotsky. A set of solo pieces in the treble clef suitable for a variety of different instruments. Score. 8 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM625. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM625). ISBN 9790570485246.The concept of this collection of pieces, created in 2008, was to create a series of miniatures for a solo musician suitable not only for an academic audience, but also for virtually any open or enclosed space: on the street, from the window of the house, or even in the elevator of a multistorey skyscraper. As a result, they can be performed by any instrument with the correct range, including (but not limited to) flutes, oboes, clarinets or saxophones. Lasting not longer than thirty seconds, and with relatively restrained dynamics, these 12 diverse pieces would be equally at home on the concert platform or in the lesson room.

Double Bass,Instrumental Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552085 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Instructional,Standards,Wedding. Individual part. 2 pages. Jmsgu3 #6116385. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552085). The famous wedding classic arranged for Solo Contrabass.Duration: 2:12Score: 2 pages. The famous Pachelbel Canon arranged for Solo Contrabass. A great choice for weddings & receptions! Pachelbel's Canon Pachelbel's Canon is, in fact, the traditional title for a composition by the German composer Johann Pachelbel. Other names for the work include namely: Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo, Canon and Gigue in D, and of course Canon in D. We do not know when or why in particular it was written. The oldest copy is surprisingly from the 19th century. It is important to realize that it was a common routine for organists to practice improvisation on the chord progression underlying the canon. Pachelbel originally scored the Canon notably for three violins and continuo. He also in fact paired the Canon with a gigue. The movements are homotonal, to clarify, both are in the key of D major. History In due time, Pachelbel's Canon went out of style and remained in virtual oblivion for centuries. The Jean-François Paillard chamber orchestra, however, recorded an arrangement of it in 1968. As a result, it gained approval. Many ensembles began likewise to record the piece in the 1970s and by the 1980s became ubiquitous as background music. From the 1970s to the early 2000s, pop songs correspondingly used elements of the piece. The chord progression, in particular, was used this way. Also, since the 1980s, it has been not only wildly popular for weddings, but also for funeral ceremonies in the USA and Europe. Pachelbel Background Johann Pachelbel (1653 –1706) was a German composer, as well as an organist. He was furthermore instrumental in bringing the south German organ school to its apex. He wrote a large body of music, both sacred and, equally important, secular. In particular, he uniquely helped develop the chorale prelude and fugue. For this, he has, in fact, earned a rightful place in the company of the most significant composers of the mid-Baroque period. Works Pachelbel's music was certainly popular. With this in mind, he also consequently had many pupils. His music expressly developed into a model for south German composers. Nowadays, Pachelbel is most famous, particularly for the Canon in D, as well as the F minor Chaconne, the Toccata in E minor, and of course the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of variations for the keyboard. Influences Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Caspar Kerll were south German composers who significantly influenced Pachelbel. Furthermore, he was especially influenced by Italians such as Frescobaldi and Poglietti. He frequently preferred an articulate, simple contrapuntal style that highlighted clarity. His music is markedly less extravagant and harmonically adventurous than that of Dieterich Buxtehude. However, as a point often overlooked, like Buxtehude, Pachelbel experimented with different instrumental combinations in his chamber music. Legacy All in all, Pachelbel was most famous as a composer for the keyboard. He composed over two hundred pieces specifically for the instrument. Pachelbel was also surprisingly a prolific composer of vocal music. All in all, about a hundred vocal works survive, including 40 or so large-scale works.
