After our first child arrived I realized that I wasn't free any longer. My mind returned to the good old days when I was free to daydream and do whatever it was that I wanted to do. When I was younger I had wanted to grow up to be a bird, a frog, an ant or a baby bee, but I had grown up to be a man, and now I had a wife and a baby son. Things were not the way I had imagined they would be. Now I had to go to work every day to pay the bills, and I didn't even like my job. It felt like I was bound in chains that were unbreakable. There seemed to be no way out, but there was a way out. All I had to do was accept that life had changed, that I had changed, and I needed to make the best of it. After making that decision life got better and better. I realized that the true plan for life was to create our own homes and families, and that sooner or later we will all return to our heavenly home. I love being home, and at the homes of my siblings, friends, and parents. Home is not really a physical place so much as it is where we are surrounded by people who love us. For me, being home is being where I am loved and accepted.

The melody could also be played by a recorder.This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. If you have a set of bells or tubes with a different color scheme, Chroma-Notes Stick Ons can be purchased and applied so the instruments match the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Very effective arrangement for piano trio (violin, cello, piano) with optional violin2, and bass. The arrangement follows the „straight eights“ versions of Mel Tormé (hence the video link) and Michael Bublé. It is more in a groovy, souly, and funky R&B style, and can thus be played also by classical musicians who are not necessarily experienced in swing jazz. Theme appears first in the violin (two times), goes then to the cello. Then, there is a chorus with room for optional solos with ad lib repeats, but you can skip this part and go right back to the theme (unisono violin and cello). This arrangement works either way. Comes with full score, as well as individual parts for all five instruments. Minimal instrumentation: Violin1, Cello, piano. Have fun with my arrangements! The tambourine and hand-clap parts are not essential but will add a great deal to the gospel flavor. The song is based on Show Me the Way To Go Home, chord changes and will serve as a basis for the young improviser. Chord changes are printed in all parts at the improvisation section and additional written-out solo parts for violin, viola, and cello, are listed on separate pages for students to duplicate and take-home for practice. As in all jazz string ensemble selections, there should be one solo bass at the improvisation section who may perform the written bass line or work off the chord changes.
