Jazz Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: AX.00-PC-0002427_GC Guitar Chords. Arranged by Victor Lopez. Instructional. Part. 1 pages. Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music #00-PC-0002427_GC. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0002427_GC). UPC: 654979180340.Wilson Pickett for your jazz ensemble? Absolutely! Victor LA3pez does it best by taking a classic rock song and adapting it for the young jazz ensemble player. What a solid groove tempo for the band---they'll really dig into this chart, and you'll need only minimum prep time for a great performance. No individual solos---just ensemble throughout---reasonable ranges, and a really fun bass part. With the addition of the flexible instrumentation and the optional parts, IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR just about plays itself!

Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1133711 By Various. By Anonymous, Giorgio Mainerio, Michael Praetorius, Pierre Attaignant, Pierre Certon, Pierre Phalese, and Tielman Susato. Arranged by Alastair Lodge. Early Music,Folk,Historic,Medieval,Renaissance. 50 pages. Wold Meridian #733808. Published by Wold Meridian (A0.1133711). This is a companion to my earlier volume Chording to the Dance Masters which presented 44 of my favourite Renaissance Dance band tunes and arranged them as a single melody line with chords derived from the original harmony lines. In this volume I have reunited 22 of the pieces with the lower parts in the score, so that with more collaborators, the fullness of the original arrangement can be heard. The chords are still present, so if the ensemble is short handed, and lines are missing, the arrangements will still work. What is more, by contrasting the melody and chords with the full scoring, it should be possible to work some light and shade into performances. You can hear all the pieces and their chords on YouTube together with contemporary art and historical background material:https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYRWH2nycMkMoIoEYEMVPa_EXY6NVDpNSAs a help to those less confident in playing harmony lines, I have provided links to playlists of videos online for each part of each piece. You will hear the selected line on its own with chords and percussion, with the melody line added on repeats. The final repeat includes the other harmony lines, but the featured line is slightly louder in the mix. The performance starts with a percussion beat introduction to set the tempo.Who were the Publishers and the Dance Masters? What did they do? Sometime around the 1500s, the popularity of dance music exploded in Europe. Dance Masters were collecting chansons and dance tunes from courts and rural parts and were teaching these to new audiences, spreading their arrangements and reflecting the performance styles of the areas from which they had collected the tunes. Publishers were able to take these tunes that were becoming known across the regions and nations and spread them even more widely, thanks to technological innovations in music printing which made it quicker and therefore cheaper to produce collections of these dances in four or more parts. These publishers were often highly accomplished composers in their own right, who were both able to provide distinctive harmony lines and compose new tunes in the style of their sources, feeding the courts with enduring tunes. Composers and printers of this time would often use note values that are double the length of those we would be used to seeing today, and so to make this version more readable, breves have become semibreves or whole notes, semibreves have become minims or half notes and so on. Working with this publication For those just starting out in Early Music, the volume is an ideal introduction, since the ensemble can build from a soloist with accompaniment with the chords alone, and parts can be added in as additional musicians become available. Instrumentation for these pieces was not specified in the original prints. The range of each part is quite limited, and though the harmonies may seem strange at times, key signatures are kind to the less experienced musician. If enthusiasm takes hold, then reproductions of early music instruments are sold by some very talented makers, as well as coming up on auction sites. Otherwise, it is possible to put together a fairly convincing ensemble with recorders, violins, a cello and mandolins, bouzoukis, flutes or guitars and gradually introduce the authentic instruments as they become available.

Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1050289 Composed by Annette O'Toole and Michael John McKean. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV. Score and parts. 15 pages. Derek Hasted #654656. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1050289). A KISS At The End Of The RAINBOW (A Mighty Wind) - VOICE + GUITAR (Score + tab)For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This poignant song is from the film “A Mighty Windâ€. If you haven’t seen it, it’s your duty as a musician to see it right now!Set originally for voice, two guitars, bass and autoharp, my arrangement for voice and guitar captures key parts of the countermelody and includes the instrumental break of the original in a very accessible arrangement. The original was performed on guitar with a Capo on fret 2, and my arrangement is no different - it makes a guitar part that is easy to play and which uses familiar shapes. The Lead Sheet has the vocals, the lyrics and the guitar chords. I’ve also included a fingerpicking “Notation only†Guitar Part and a “Notation + Tab†Guitar part - the latter is rather large for a music stand! As it stands, the vocal range is A below middle C to B 9 notes above - mezzo or baritone. For a lower voice, just take the capo off the guitar - for a higher voice move it up the neck a little! The vocals can be sung be a single voice or by male and female voices (see the Lead Sheet). I hope you enjoy this gentle and moving piece; I am sure your audiences will too...

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.900406 Composed by Gustavo Fuentes. Arranged by Gustavo Fuentes. Celtic,Folk,Holiday,New Age,World. 4 pages. Gustavo Fuentes #3637535. Published by Gustavo Fuentes (A0.900406). New Heaven. Celtic music song composed by Gustavo Fuentes, arranged for two voices. Two melody instruments, such as tin whistle, low whistle, flute, recorder, piano or violin, with chords for piano or guitar. The audio is from to the Gustavo Fuentes CD Almas en vuelo that you can listen to on Spotify. Some things in this universe always remain the same while others are constantly changing. We are at the mercy of time and the changing seasons. Time is precisely what gives us perspective and helps us realize our reality is always evolving. Some changes are inevitable and we cannot do anything about them. They can be beautiful and fill our souls with joy and excitement or they can fill us with sorrow. But there are other types of changes which are fully up to us and that is what this song is about. There are times when we decide to make personal changes in order to go on a new journey and reimagine our heaven. A new heaven which will give us the strength and the courage to fight our fears and our demons. When we change our destiny and fight despite all setbacks, we become the warriors of our own battles.

UPTOWN GIRL - THREE or FOUR GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This very playable but satisfying arrangement suits 3 guitars, 4 guitars or (even better!) a large ensemble. This is a piece that's full of hidden gems...For an audience it's absolutely full of uplifting key changes - not just one on the last chorus! This arrangement starts in A, but visits the keys of F, C, D and E more than once, and each one seems to lift the mood yet higher. And then there's a gentle fade away to a quiet finish. For an adult trio, it's an easy rhythmic crowd-pleaser that any audience will like. Each line has its own contribution to the overall big wall of toe-tapping sound. For a guitar teacher, it's a great exercise in rhythm and a chance to show students the half-diminished chord (the m7b5) and the poignancy of the flattened ninth. And indeed to remind them that there's more to good music than just three chords! For a school teacher, this trio comes with a potential life-saver - there's a second version of the Guitar 2 part that is split into two separate parts - 2a and 2b. These parts are ideal for a mixed ability ensemble where one or two players are new starters with guitar (yes, the Guitar 2b part really is that easy!) So play as a trio or a quartet - the choice is yours, and rest assured that an ensemble of widely differing abilities will be able to tackle it to great effect.I hope you enjoy this piece as much as my adult Guitar Workshop ensemble does!

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1311836 Composed by John Barry. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV. 21 pages. Derek Hasted #900771. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1311836). JOHN DUNBAR'S THEME (Dances With Wolves) - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEPrimarily for Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This theme, from the film 'Dances With Wolves' is widely admired as a charming and powerful melody. It will make a wonderful item for a concert. My arrangement is based on track 4 of the official Soundtrack CD. It’s very slow, and lasts just over three and a half minutes - be sure not to rush this lovely piece and its haunting descant in the final Verse. The key is just a semitone lower than the original, and two guitars are tuned to 6=D to give a rich deep bass that maximises the sustain that guitars can achieve.Guitar 1 plays the part of the high descant in the original.Guitar 2 is the tune, and if you have more than 4 players, there is an optional divisi part (Guitar 2a) that helps reinforce the beautiful melody.Guitar 3 is arpeggio based, to help the sustain and to ease the counting of the beats.Guitar 4 has thick chords which should be rolled (but not strummed) to add to the majesty of the music.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by number of instruments, with links to soundclips and sample score.

The chorus is taught easily as it is written in a call and response form. ...and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6: 8b A modern musical setting of Micah 6: 3-8. The chorus is taught easily as it is written in a call and response form. The music evokes an ancient time (i.e. before we starting worrying about things like parallel fifths). This song has been updated with a new third verse which is presently included in the lyrics, lyrics and chords, lead sheet and accompaniment version. ...and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6: 8b MICAH'S SONG (Seek Justice) based on Micah 6: 3, 6-8. Words and music by David Kai Chorus: Seek justice (seek justice), Love kindness (love kindness), Walk humbly with your God, (walk humbly with your God). In troubled times when God’s message must be heard, Prophets like Micah proclaim the living word, “How have I wronged you, my people, You who I guard, who I save?†Chorus: “Will I be pleased with burnt offerings and oil, fruits of your labours and harvests of your toil? I seek no sacrifices, Listen to what I require†Chorus: Now is the time when God’s message must be heard, This is the day to embrace the living word, Will we take heed, or ignore them, Words ancient, needed today? WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD (Louis Armstrong) - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is a very accessible arrangement of a real classic! It works well as a guitar quartet, and sounds even more impressive played by a larger ensemble. The key is just a semitone lower than the original Louis Armstrong version, and most of the chords will seem instantly familiar. The choice of key means that you might just get an audience singing along - all the sections of the original are here.Guitar 1 is the tuneGuitar 2 swaps between the string section, the flute and the horns of the originalGuitar 3 is arpeggio based, and the first instance of each shape is fingered.Guitar 4 is the bass line, and is presented in both treble and bass clefs (play one or the other or both!)I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1135655 By Ruth B. By Ruth Berhe. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. Instructional,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Chords/Lyrics. 2 pages. Brian Streckfus #735713. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1135655). This is a shortened version of the song to fit nicely on two pages (I needed a shorter version for the circumstances I'm under). The melody and lyrics are like the original as far as I can tell, but I did make changes to the harmony. Usually these changes to the harmony are to enhance the word painting, or to have it be more idiomatic to guitar. A version like this is ideal for someone who wants to play a very fancy version of the song on solo guitar, though adding vocals in should still be fairly easy. I personally sing a lot better if I can play the melody first on guitar because then I know exactly what I'm doing. Versions like these can really be as simple or as complex as you want, if you want something simple, just play the chord diagrams and sing!1. Guitar Arrangement Lead Sheet Style2. Guitar Tab 3. Chord Charts 4. Less stereotypical chords 5. Fingerings and letter names added to aid in sight-reading 6. Voice leading considerations 7. Making the music idiomatic for guitarTips:1. Notes with the stem direction going down are background harmonies that should be played quietly. This hidden meaning tends to only happen with polyphonic instruments such as piano and guitar. You'll eventually notice this anyways because there is no lyric underneath the note.1. Slurs are notated to the make the music easier and better sounding for guitar not vocals, though of course it often mimicks slurs similiar to a vocalist.2. Fmaj7(#11) is not in the original and is a key change since it includes an F and not an F#.3. Sometimes it can look like the melody does not contain a key change, but then when you anaylze the letter names of the chords, you will find that there is indeed key changes in the chords. The Beatles is a good example of a band that does this often.4. E minor and G major chords technically only need 2 or 3 notes. This is one simple but effective strategy to have less cliche chords.5. The F(#5)(#11) chord in the second to last measure could probably be just an F major chord.6. The E natural in measure 42 could be an Eb if the harmony is too avant-garde for you. Made sense to me because of word painting and I wanted a keyless and dreamy feeling for the end. 7. G/B chords are arguably nicer than a full G chord, though of course the decision is ultimately up to. It is better because the chord is imperfect, it causes the audience to not clap too soon. I also only strum the chord up to where the vocal melody is happening, that way the main melody is always in the spot light, and I find songs are easier to sing this way.

Large Ensemble Baritone Recorder,Baritone Saxophone,Bass Guitar,Bassoon,Cello,Double Bass,Euphonium,Handbell,Harpsichord,Horn,Marimba,Orff Instrument,Organ,Piano,Timpani,Trombone,Tuba,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.931838 Composed by Nathan Petitpas - Dots and Beams. Instructional. Score and parts. 129 pages. Dots and Beams #5313621. Published by Dots and Beams (A0.931838). This book provides its user with a series of notes on a bass staff with no rhythm values and no meter. Chapters are organized by the placement of the notes relative to the staff; on the staff, above the staff, below the staff, on and above the staff, and on and below the staff. For each pitch range there is one chapter with no accidentals and one chapter with accidentals. All exercises have a space at the beginning of each staff to write in a key signature, allowing each exercise to be read in all keys and used in many ways. The aim with this book is to allow the user to focus specifically on exercises centred around pitch without the distraction of rhythmic values or time signatures. This can begin with the practice of sight-reading but can expand to include many other learning goals. The diatonic sets contain notes with no accidentals or key signature. These collections can be read as written, using only natural notes, or in any of the 15 key signatures from 7 flats to 7 sharps. Chromatic collections include sharp and flat notes as well as natural ones. The later exercises in these chapters increase the difficulty by including B#, Cb, E#, and Fb. Ledger line chapters start with the first ledger line and gradually expand away from the staff. Exercises above and below the staff extend to the space just beyond the fourth ledger line. The random nature of the notes in these exercises is intentional; it forces the user to pay attention to each note and makes the exercises very difficult to memorize, ensuring that they will still present a challenge even after multiple readings. It’s important when sight-reading to cycle through the exercises quickly rather than dwelling on a single exercise for a long time. This will ensure that you’re strengthening your ability to read the notes rather than just memorizing the exercises. Some suggestions for how to use this book include: Gain comfort reading the notes and finding them on your instrument in no particular rhythm or tempo. A greater challenge can be achieved by playing them at a steady tempo or by playing them in a simple rhythmic pattern. Beginner students can begin by writing in the note names. Play each exercise in all 15 key signatures. Advanced theory students and improvising musicians can also use these exercises to practice identifying scale degrees in various keys or playing chords built on every scale degree in the chosen key. Develop comfort with chords by playing a chord built on each note in the exercise. For example: for each note in the exercise, play the major chord with that root. Increase the difficulty with different chord qualities or different chord tones, for example: for every note, play the minor 7th chord in which the given note is the 3rd. Practice transposing into different keys. This is an especially useful challenge for people who play transposing instruments such as brass and woodwind instruments. Chapters with wide ranges can present a great exercise for musicians who play instruments where large leaps are a challenge. People who play strings, mallet percussion, piano, woodwinds, and brass would be among those who would benefit from practising these awkward leaps and falls. As with any of the Dots and Beams books, the uses for this particular collection are limited only by the imagination of the musician using it. I highly encourage anybody using this book to find as many uses for it as possible. My hope is that as you grow as a musician you will find ever more creative and challenging ways to use these materials so that you can return to these books for years and still find a valuable way to use them.

Small Ensemble,Strings Bass Guitar,Cello,Drum Set,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845978 By OneRepublic. By Brent Kutzle, John Nathaniel, and Ryan Tedder. Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. Contemporary,Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 56 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #5739325. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.845978). Whether you are a tried and true OneRepublic fan looking to add to your ensemble's catalog, a struggling musician hoping for Better Days, or simply want to create a little social media buzz by playing that song that you saw in a commercial about a Jeep, or ESPN, or NBC... THIS is the chart you are looking for!Check out Dallas String Quartet performing this arrangement in their latest music video: https://youtu.be/BBEdsXRELywWhat you have here, ladies & gentlemen, is no half-baked attempt at a transcription that you might find illegally floating around the internet for a few bucks. This meticulously-arranged instrumental reimagining of OneRepublic's new smash is much, MUCH more. Your journey through the pop-string realm starts out with a silky, cinematic intro that will filter out the commotion of your futile existence, opening the curtains to reveal a plane of pure musical ecstasy. When the groove finally drops, and OH, does it DROP... you will not be able to stop yourself from foot-tapping, head-banging, or otherwise moving one or more body parts in a definitively rhythmic fashion. Hip rhythmic chopping grooves, fingerboard slaps, and a healthy dose of syncopation will take this sick beat to another level! And if that isn't enough to pique your interest, be on the lookout for some sexy reharminizations throughout the tune that will make you honestly wonder why those chords weren't in the song to begin with...Just when you thought this couldn't get any better: THERE IS A SOLO SECTION!! I've included some written solos, but if you prefer to improvise your own, that is allowed and encouraged. You can also vamp it if you need to kill a little time, or just want to show off for a few more bars. This version of the score includes optional RHYTHM SECTION PARTS for guitar, bass, & drum set in addition to the standard string quartet. To be clear, you do not have to perform this chart with bass and drums. I have gone to great pains to ensure that, with proper preparation, a string quartet performance will sound every bit as groovy as a full 7-piece band. So if you try to play this without a drummer and it doesn't go well, I don't want to hear about it. Go practice.Having a great ensemble may be the first step to successfully landing the big gigs, but having repertoire that gives your musicians the chance to shine will make you stand out from the rest. So don't settle for reading off of a piano score or hacking through questionably-obtained transcriptions when you can have the real deal. Fresh tunes, arranged by a real string player who has been in your shoes and knows how to wow the crowd! Thanks for visiting, and I hope this chart brings us all to some Better DaysPerformance time - 4:00 as written, longer if you vamp the solo, shorter if you cut the intro. Because I get it; we all need flexibility when wedding parties and/or emcee's are involved.Questions? Feel free to contact me via my website, www.kylepudenz.com/ or on the 'Insta @theviolinvagabond

Large Ensemble Clarinet,Flute,Guitar,Hand Percussion,Piano,Trumpet,Ukulele,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.851206 Composed by Traditional (Wales, UK). Arranged by Dan Jones www.danjonesguitarist.com. Celtic,Instructional,World. Score and parts. 25 pages. DanJonesGuitarist #6671675. Published by DanJonesGuitarist (A0.851206). Ar Hyd a Nos (All Through the Night) is a beautiful yet simple Welsh, traditional song. This arrangement is part of a new series which is specially designed for classroom music teachers. The arrangement is very flexible to suit the abilities and resources available to each individual group and their teacher. The instrumentation is: (1) The melody for C instruments (such as flute) (2) An easy part for C instruments (3) The same melody for B flat instruments (4) The same easy part for B flat instruments (5) The same melody for E flat instruments (6) The same easy part for B flat instruments (7) A single-line percussion part (8) A piano part which could be played by a pupil (approximately ABRSM Grade 3) or teacher (9) A ukulele part with chords, the melody and TAB (10) A guitar part with chords, the melody and TAB (11) A bass part in notes and TAB. This part could also be played by a cello, bassoon or any low-range instrument (12) The melody written in a higher octave for more-advanced players (approx. ABRSM Grade 3-4). In the absence of some of the above, the arrangement is still effective due to the doubling of the melody. The bass part can also be omitted as the piano plays appropriate root notes, and the guitar plays chords. The piece is presented in in two sections with a modulation. If time is limited, just one section can be learned. A YouTube video with a demonstration video and audio track will be available at www.danjonesguitarist.com and on YouTube. The link will be published at sheetmusicplus.com. I hope that you find this arrangement useful. Double Bass,Drum Set,Percussion,Piano and Keyboard,Tenor Saxophone - Level 5 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1227644 Composed by Reese Rosbrook. This edition: Interactive Download. Jazz. 10 pages. Duration 149. Reese_Rosbrook #6P4oLzKV6tnK36zxmQL5n3. Published by Reese_Rosbrook (A0.1227644). Key: Ab major. It's been a while since I've made a jazzy piece, and being inspired from a recent trip to New York City really brought the jazz out of me. This one is super special, because it describes what life is like in the city. The A section is your common stroll, let's say through Central Park or down the block. The beat never stops with anyone. Everyone just keeps walking, and this constant bass line represents that. The B section represents the unexpected. You decide to walk through the subway, encountering a man playing tunes on a funky guitar. The weird chords and rhythms emphasize the curiosity of the music you're hearing. And finally, the C section represents the city lights. Beautiful, aren't they? Yet, unusual at the same time, represented by the 7/4 time signature. (Which was my first time using that time signature, how do you think I did?) I had fun writing this. I'm currently working on a research paper on the Origins of Jazz, and it kind of got me into a Dave Brubeck mood. Thanks for listening! -Reese.
