(womöglich mehrfach besetzt) - 6 Hr. - Tamtam - Windschleuder - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q25915 Romantic Opera in 3 Acts. Composed by Richard Wagner. This edition: vocal/piano score. Initial release - Opera - theater. Wagner Urtext Piano/Vocal Scores. Downloadable, Piano reduction. Duration 135' 0. Schott Music - Digital #Q25915. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q25915). German • English. An important addition to our newly produced orchestral materials is the first publication of vocal scores of Wagner’s ten great operas, in every important version, based on the Complete Edition. * The score corresponds to the performance materials from the Complete Edition. * For practical use in rehearsal cues and bar numbers throughout. * The publisher has secured the services of renewed musicologists associated with the Richard Wagner Complete Edition who convey detailed information in critical forewords. * The forewords are given in three languages(German, English, French). * Uniform and attractive front cover designs with reproductions of paintings from the Wagner era underline the series design of the edition. DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (Original version) With this edition, the original version of Wagner’s opera Der fliegende Holländer [The flying Dutchman] WWV 63 is made available to the public for the first time in piano score form. The score on which the edition is based was published in the Richard Wagner-Complete Edition 1983: Richard Wagner. Collected works Vol. 4, I-II, The Flying Dutchman. Romantic opera in three acts (original version 1841), edited by Isolde Vetter (Schott Music International, Mainz, RWA 104-10/RWA 104-20).†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Wagner, at the time a completely unknown Kapellmeister in France, trying to get a foothold in Paris, saw the opportunity for a stage work that would meet the fashion at the Paris Opera of performing several short works one after another. Der fliegende Holländer, conceived in 1840 and composed in 1841, seemed to him suited to the purpose. In 1841, even when Wagner no longer counted on a success in Paris, he still held to the conception of a one-act opera and offered the work to German opera houses under the title of “Romantic Opera in One Act and Three Scenesâ€. This version is set in Scotland, taking as the literary model for the opera Heinrich Heine’s novel fragment “From the Memoirs of Mr. Schnabelewopskiâ€, and the protagonists have English names. This version was never performed in Wagner’s lifetime. Beginning in 1842, the work went through a tale of constant revision: Even before the Dresden premiere (2nd January 1843) Wagner undertook fundamental alterations. He transposed the location from Scotland to Norway, changed character’s names as appropriate, divided the opera into three acts – not least due to considerations of scene changes – and transposed Senta’s Ballad from A minor to G minor. It was in this version that the score of the opera went to print in 1845. For a performance in 1860 he composed the later so-called ‘Tristan’ or ‘Redemption’ ending to the Overture. Until the very end of his life, Wagner contemplated a plan for a final score or a definitive vocal score: it never came to be, so that to this day, as with Tannhäuser, we still do not have Der fliegende Holländer in a final version. Based on the research conducted in the creation of the Complete Edition, our editions contain, in one case the original version of 1841, while the other essentially goes back to the first printing of the score of 1845, but with the addition of the source material for the retouchings dating from 1842 to 1889. VOCAL SCORES The original version of the opera was made available for the first time in a vocal score in 2005 (ED 8065). The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).Les opéras de Richard Wagner paraissent pour la première fois sous forme de piano-chant chez Schott en version originale.

This is possibly the greatest patter song ever written. From Gilbert and Sullivan's 1879 operetta Pirates Of Penzance, it has been parodied many times. Its tongue-twisting lyrics and catchy melody make it very popular. This arrangement is designed so that the soloist can be instrument from Bb cornet down to Euphonium (or even a vocalist singing the original lyrics!).After deciding the solo instrument, the other parts should work as below. Aim for two players for each harmony part. Cornets as normal (flugel doubles repiano) Harmony 1: 2 tenor horns Harmony 2: any 2 of tenor horn, baritone, trombone Harmony 3: any 2 of baritone, trombone, euphonium Harmony 4: any 2 of baritone, bass trombone, euphonium Bass: Eb and Bb as normal - 1 of each only during solo sections Percussion: Any combination optional

Published by Opus 3 Music (A0.739502). 'Jack's Journey'(A new Musical by Adeline Dinsmore and David Catherwood)Piano and vocal score (contains 7 songs plus overture and incidental music) plus Script - $9.50Duration c.40 minutesIdeal for schools, youth groups or adult dramatic/musical companies.Requirements - Narrator, Chorus, (unison/2part) Soloists, Actors, Piano accompanimentOptional - Dancers, orchestral parts for Flute, Clarinet. Trumpet, Horn, Strings, Percussion and Bass/guitar About the Musical A great story about one of the 20th century’s greatest storytellers. Carefully researched, yet full of fun, this entertaining musical tells the story of the early part of CS Lewis' life from the time of his mother's death in 1908 until his arrival as a student at Oxford in 1916. (Throughout his life CS Lewis was always known as Jack) This new work was premiered at the end of 2019 at the annual CS Lewis Festival held in Ireland. (CS Lewis’ birthplace) It proved to be a great success and was very enthusiastically received. Synopsis Jack’s Journey is a whimsical re-imagining of the childhood journeys of CS Lewis - each of the seven songs representing a stop along the way to his eventual career as the writer of the Narnia Chronicles. The story is told through music relating his memories and significant episodes from his schooldays up to his entry into Oxford. Living almost entirely in his imagination as a small boy, the seeds of the world of Narnia are already beginning to grow in his writing and drawings. Little Lea, his childhood home, provides the setting for the early scenes. Following the death of his mother the young Jack has his first experience of school and England. He endures with fortitude the harsh regime of boarding school and begins to recognise the value of friendship, mutual support and the courage that children can show in adversity. He returns to Ireland and to Campbell College – a much more positive experience. Illness brings his attendance at Campbell to an end. Returning to Little Lea, Jack imagines the world of fairies and dwarves, a world beyond our own. He returns to school in England and comes under the influence of a variety of teachers. Expelled from Malvern, Jack next falls under the influence of his great mentor, Professor Kirkpatrick – the model for the Professor of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Jack’s Journey concludes with the anticipated arrival of a great hero, the hero of the first of the Narnian Chronicles, Aslan, the lion. ‘Jack’s Journey’ gives opportunity for young actors, (supported if desired by adults, taking the parts of the grown-ups.) There are short dramatic scenes, plenty of chorus work, opportunity for choreography and many solo spots for vocalists in the songs which are milestones in the story. List of Songs (the sample pages and mp3 file gives a chance to see and hear the first page of most of the songs) 1 Soft through the window 2 Kingdom of Mourne 3 Little Lea 4 Campbell Days - Boy to the left, Boy to the right 5 The Dandy's song 6 The Scholar's song 7 Strength and honour As will be evident from the above, there is plenty of flexibility regarding the scale of the performance. ‘Jack’s Journey’ may be staged using relatively modest outlay – for example, the premiere did not have a set because the venue for the performance was an actual railway station! The piece certainly allows for imaginative approaches to design and staging. In terms of the additional challenges presented by 2020 the length of the musical at 40 minutes helps in delivering a shorter theatrical experience. Also, the fully digital download of all performing materials allows for distribution via email Indeed the whole show could be effectively recorded and presented online as well as in person.

Composed by Richard Wagner. This edition: vocal/piano score. Initial release - opera - theater. Wagner Urtext Piano/Vocal Scores. Downloadable, Piano reduction. Schott Music - Digital #Q25918. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q25918). German. DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (1842-1880 version) This piano reduction is based on the edition of Der fliegende Holländer from the Critical Complete Edition of Richard Wagner’s works (Richard Wagner, Sämtliche Werke [Collected works], Vol. 4, III-VI, edited by Egon Voss, Mainz, 2000f.) The primary source for this edition was the first print of the score dating from 1845 which had however been augmented utilising the sources of additions undertaken after 1845, meaning that this edition is actually a compilation of the final versions of all individual sections or relevant details. The overture for example dates back to 1860 whereas No. 1 appears in the version from 1864. What is however most significant is that the versions from the Collected Editions based on new sources is without doubt closer to the original than the score from 1897 edited by Felix Weingartner which had previously formed the basis for all editions and logically also for all performances.†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).

Brass Ensemble Horn - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.931276 Composed by Alessandro Macrì. Baroque,Classical,Concert,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 10 pages. Music Macri Editions #6082045. Published by Music Macri Editions (A0.931276).

The Suite for guitar aims to blend tradition and modernity through the use of a language with a neobaroque imprint. The canonical utilization of the fixed dances of the Suite (Allemande, Courante, Sarabande and Gigue preceded by an introductory Prelude) serves as a clear reference to the corresponding Baroque model characterized by alternation between slow and fast movements. The style, on the other hand, appears to be moderately dissonant, yet still focused on a well-defined tonal framework. A personal use of both dissonances and modulations is intended to enhance the auditory experience while maintaining a strong connection to a specific tonal center (E), which serves as a stable reference point in the organization of the musical material.

Composed by Bertold Hummel. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, Score and parts. Op. 107 b. Duration 16 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6118. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6118). In summer 2001, Bertold Hummel composed the present work as a commission for the Asiago Festival and brought together in the grand dimensions of his 'Fantasy in one movement' - as he himself termed it - for the first time the instruments he had always loved much during his life. Asiago - the letters a-s-a-g, corresponding to the notes a, e-flat, a, g in the German musical scale, open and close the work - is a successful excursion into the complex sound combinations of percussion instruments and the mystical, sensuous tone of the violoncello, whereby the stringed instrument occasionally takes on a percussive role and the percussion is sometimes treated like a bowed. Driving rhythms pursue each other, alternating with meditative moments. Chorale fragments lead to a grand cadenza, in which the instrumentalists have the opportunity, following patterns provided, for free improvisation. The première of this work took place on 5th August, 2001 in the Duomo di S. Matteo in Asiago in northern Italy and was in the hands of Peter Sadlo and Julius Berger, who are amongst the most committed exponents of Bertold Hummel's works.Asiago is an effective examination of the wide range of possible tonal combinations between percussion instruments and the mystic and sensuous colouring of the violoncello, in which the string instrument is at times treated percussively and the percussion instruments in the manner of a string instrument. Furious rhythms alternate with meditative passages and choral fragments culminate in a large-scale cadenza in which the instrumentalists have the opportunity of free improvisation on the basis of specified models.

Guido Menestrina #516705. Published by Guido Menestrina (A0.828718).

English. The oratorio 'A Child of Our Time' was Tippett's artistic and emotional response to the events that led to the 'Kristallnacht' pogrom of November 1938. For his oratorio Tippett used as his formal and historical models the Bach Passions and Handel's Messiah which share with this contemporary morality the subject of the death of an individual set against the universal background of human suffering. Tippett's use of the spiritual as a contemporary equivalent for the Lutheran chorale of the Bach settings draws his audience more closely into the drama through the spirituals' 'unique verbal and musical metaphor'.

Howard (A0.1407989). Ghost takes its title from the art work by Ron Mueck (1998), which is in the collection of the Tate Gallery, Liverpool. Mueck's Ghost is an extraordinarily realistic, larger-than-life-sized mannequin. This model is of a young lady in a swimsuit, with exceptionally long legs and an embarrassed glance about her face. This musical work attempts to capture the ghostly, solitary and threatening qualities of the work. It is flexibly scored, in four instrumental parts, and there are opportunities for 'solo' and 'tutti' playing. Character is depicted in a four note motif (heard at the beginning), which is transformed across five highly contrasting sections. There is a significant cadenza-like solo passage, for a treble clef instrument. Ghost was commissioned by COMA for the Autumn Residency at Tate Liverpool in October 2002. The famous wedding classic arranged for Solo Contrabass.Duration: 2:12Score: 2 pages. The famous Pachelbel Canon arranged for Solo Contrabass. A great choice for weddings & receptions! Pachelbel's Canon Pachelbel's Canon is, in fact, the traditional title for a composition by the German composer Johann Pachelbel. Other names for the work include namely: Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo, Canon and Gigue in D, and of course Canon in D. We do not know when or why in particular it was written. The oldest copy is surprisingly from the 19th century. It is important to realize that it was a common routine for organists to practice improvisation on the chord progression underlying the canon. Pachelbel originally scored the Canon notably for three violins and continuo. He also in fact paired the Canon with a gigue. The movements are homotonal, to clarify, both are in the key of D major. History In due time, Pachelbel's Canon went out of style and remained in virtual oblivion for centuries. The Jean-François Paillard chamber orchestra, however, recorded an arrangement of it in 1968. As a result, it gained approval. Many ensembles began likewise to record the piece in the 1970s and by the 1980s became ubiquitous as background music. From the 1970s to the early 2000s, pop songs correspondingly used elements of the piece. The chord progression, in particular, was used this way. Also, since the 1980s, it has been not only wildly popular for weddings, but also for funeral ceremonies in the USA and Europe. Pachelbel Background Johann Pachelbel (1653 –1706) was a German composer, as well as an organist. He was furthermore instrumental in bringing the south German organ school to its apex. He wrote a large body of music, both sacred and, equally important, secular. In particular, he uniquely helped develop the chorale prelude and fugue. For this, he has, in fact, earned a rightful place in the company of the most significant composers of the mid-Baroque period. Works Pachelbel's music was certainly popular. With this in mind, he also consequently had many pupils. His music expressly developed into a model for south German composers. Nowadays, Pachelbel is most famous, particularly for the Canon in D, as well as the F minor Chaconne, the Toccata in E minor, and of course the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of variations for the keyboard. Influences Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Caspar Kerll were south German composers who significantly influenced Pachelbel. Furthermore, he was especially influenced by Italians such as Frescobaldi and Poglietti. He frequently preferred an articulate, simple contrapuntal style that highlighted clarity. His music is markedly less extravagant and harmonically adventurous than that of Dieterich Buxtehude. However, as a point often overlooked, like Buxtehude, Pachelbel experimented with different instrumental combinations in his chamber music. Legacy All in all, Pachelbel was most famous as a composer for the keyboard. He composed over two hundred pieces specifically for the instrument. Pachelbel was also surprisingly a prolific composer of vocal music. All in all, about a hundred vocal works survive, including 40 or so large-scale works.
