Small Ensemble Cello,Clarinet,Flute,Piano,Trombone,Trumpet,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.818293 Composed by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Contemporary. Score and parts. 109 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #4991045. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818293). Sketches of Christ Movement 3 Though I Was Blind; Now I SeeTone Poem for Cello and Piano and Piano by Stephen R Dalrymplebased on John 9, the account of the interactions of the man born blind, Jewish authorities, and Jesus Christtranscribed for solo flute, clarinet, trumpet, euphonium/trombone, and violin Sketches of Christ is a 3 movement work by Stephen R Dalrymple intended for the concert stage (contrasted with preludes and offertories at church). It was originally titled Sonata for Cello and Piano. As I composed similar works, I realized that, although I have used the concepts of sonata form in various movements, because these pieces reflect the drama of selected passages of the Bible, Tone Poem was a more fitting genre title. I have begun the process of transcribing these Tone Poems for additional instruments. I consider these Tone Poems as contemporary classical music. I have used modal harmonies; polychords and polytonality; free dissonance; atonality, mixed meters, etc. to convey the drama of the Bible. Sketches of Christ is based on 3 episodes from Christ’s Life: The calming of the Sea of Galilee, Mary and Martha, and the healing of the man born blind. This score is movement 3 of a 3 movement tone poem, originally scored and premiered as a sonata for Cello and Violin. It is presented here for 5 additional solo instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Euphonium (or Trombone) and Violin.  Sketches of Christ is written in 20th Century Classical Music composition techniques. Various movements employ a mix of bitonality, modal harmony, deliberate dissonance, and mixed meter. Each movement dramatizes an event form the Life of Christ. This movement expresses the interactions of the man born blind, Jewish authorities, and Jesus Christ from John 9.  The score shows the parts for cello and piano, but individual parts are provided for the other solo instruments.  Includes 14 scores: Full Score for cello and piano letter size; Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Euphonium (or trombone), and Violin solo parts; Full Score for cello and small page format for performing from a 10 inch tablet and the same solo parts for 10 inch tablet. tablet (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. There are programs online that will allow you to split pdf files so that you can choose the correct part of the pdf for your tablet.)  The 3 movements of the tone poem are published separately. This tone poem is actually a more like a solo instrument and piano duet rather than a solo with a piano accompaniment.

Instrumental Duet,Piano Clarinet,Flute,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1188952 Composed by Brian Chung. Contemporary,Film/TV,Thriller,Traditional. 9 pages. Brian Chung Music #788560. Published by Brian Chung Music (A0.1188952). Floating, Falling, Flying was originally written as trio for Oboe, Violin and Piano (#1284568 on Sheet Music Direct, #A0.1188926 on Sheet Music Plus). For those who have already purchased that original score, these supplemental parts will make possible the following instrumental combinations:Clarinet (for Oboe) creates a Clarinet/Violin/Piano trio.Clarinet (for Violin) creates an Oboe/Clarinet/Piano trio (heard on sample audio file).Flute (for Violin) creates an Oboe/Flute/Piano trio. The Piano part in the original score is unchanged for all combinations. For Flute/Clarinet/Piano, please purchase the separate version optimized for that instrumentation (#1288002 on Sheet Music Direct, #A0.1192373 on Sheet Music Plus). Composer's Commentary on YouTube:  https://youtu.be/7Isy0t6VzasSUMMARYHave you ever wondered what happens to balloons when they fly away? Floating, Falling, Flying depicts the odyssey of two balloons who find themselves suddenly and blissfully untethered.  It presents a musical narrative of their unpredictable journey through the skies, back to earth, and, eventually, into the stratosphere. The piece was commissioned by Music Teachers National Association for the 2022 National Conference.  It is a trio for oboe, violin and piano written for students at the intermediate to advanced-intermediate level.  Composed in three contiguous movements, it involves three characters – the balloons (portrayed by the oboe and violin) and the wind (represented by the piano).  In the opening movement (Floating), the balloons escape their moorings and ascend into free space, floating playfully among the clouds with the help of a gentle wind. But, as in life, journeys are not always peaceful.  The second movement (Falling) opens with a hint that something is not quite right.  Undaunted, the balloons continue their carefree ascent amid the ominous signs of an approaching storm.  The wind ultimately asserts its authority, pummeling the balloons back to earth.  As they lie helplessly on the ground, they assess each other’s condition and make feeble attempts to relaunch.  But, without wind, their situation seems hopeless.  In the final movement (Flying), hope is restored as a quiet breeze lifts the intrepid pair back into the air.  They resume their skyward adventure with renewed vigor and joy – dancing through the clouds and, ultimately, out of sight.Floating, Falling, Flying is an exciting and challenging piece for student concerts, recitals and Solo and Ensemble festivals.Brian Chung is a pianist, arranger, composer, conference speaker, former Senior Vice Present of Kawai America Corporation, and author or co-author of four books published by Alfred Music.  He was honored to participate in MTNA’s Collaborative Music Commissioning Project with this composition.

Small Ensemble Drum Set,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802652 By Bee Gees. By Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Dance,Disco. Score and parts. 13 pages. Peet du Toit #6198683. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802652). New York Mining Disaster 1941 is the debut American single by the British-Australian pop group the Bee Gees, released on 14 April 1967. It was written by Barry and Robin Gibb.Barry and Robin Gibb wrote the song while sitting on a darkened staircase at Polydor Records following a power cut. The song recounts the story of a miner trapped in a cave-in. He is sharing a photo of his wife with a colleague (Mr. Jones) while they hopelessly wait to be rescued. According to the liner notes for their box-set Tales from the Brothers Gibb (1990), this song was inspired by the 1966 Aberfan mining disaster in Wales. According to Robin, there actually had also been a mining disaster in New York in 1939, but not in 1941, and he thought New York sounded more glamourous. In the second and third verses, the lyrical lines get slower and slower, as if to indicate that life is about to end for the miners. The darker sounds of the Flügelhorn, harmonised by the French Horn, depict the dangerous alleys of death miners are facing every day. A potential fatality is lurking every day. The sustained notes of the muted trumpet and the trombone symbolise the sirens and alarms down under - as warning signs. The simple bass drum effect denotes the time that goes by during the unknown and the working pace. The tuba part suggests moving forward, despite the daunting situation.I hope to have captured some of the context and story in this arrangement by a super group. Enjoy!

DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (1842-1880 version) This piano reduction is based on the edition of Der fliegende Holländer from the Critical Complete Edition of Richard Wagner’s works (Richard Wagner, Sämtliche Werke [Collected works], Vol. 4, III-VI, edited by Egon Voss, Mainz, 2000f.) The primary source for this edition was the first print of the score dating from 1845 which had however been augmented utilising the sources of additions undertaken after 1845, meaning that this edition is actually a compilation of the final versions of all individual sections or relevant details. The overture for example dates back to 1860 whereas No. 1 appears in the version from 1864. What is however most significant is that the versions from the Collected Editions based on new sources is without doubt closer to the original than the score from 1897 edited by Felix Weingartner which had previously formed the basis for all editions and logically also for all performances.†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Wagner, at the time a completely unknown Kapellmeister in France, trying to get a foothold in Paris, saw the opportunity for a stage work that would meet the fashion at the Paris Opera of performing several short works one after another. Der fliegende Holländer, conceived in 1840 and composed in 1841, seemed to him suited to the purpose. In 1841, even when Wagner no longer counted on a success in Paris, he still held to the conception of a one-act opera and offered the work to German opera houses under the title of “Romantic Opera in One Act and Three Scenesâ€. This version is set in Scotland, taking as the literary model for the opera Heinrich Heine’s novel fragment “From the Memoirs of Mr. Schnabelewopskiâ€, and the protagonists have English names. This version was never performed in Wagner’s lifetime. Beginning in 1842, the work went through a tale of constant revision: Even before the Dresden premiere (2nd January 1843) Wagner undertook fundamental alterations. He transposed the location from Scotland to Norway, changed character’s names as appropriate, divided the opera into three acts – not least due to considerations of scene changes – and transposed Senta’s Ballad from A minor to G minor. It was in this version that the score of the opera went to print in 1845. For a performance in 1860 he composed the later so-called ‘Tristan’ or ‘Redemption’ ending to the Overture. Until the very end of his life, Wagner contemplated a plan for a final score or a definitive vocal score: it never came to be, so that to this day, as with Tannhäuser, we still do not have Der fliegende Holländer in a final version. Based on the research conducted in the creation of the Complete Edition, our editions contain, in one case the original version of 1841, while the other essentially goes back to the first printing of the score of 1845, but with the addition of the source material for the retouchings dating from 1842 to 1889. VOCAL SCORES The original version of the opera was made available for the first time in a vocal score in 2005 (ED 8065). The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).

Recorder Solo,Treble Recorder - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1261477 Composed by Daniel de Moivre (1687-1731). Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Baroque. Individual part. 88 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #854554. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1261477). PREFACEThese eight suites for solo recorder are amongst the relatively fewcompositions by Daniel de Moivre that have survived for us through the centuries. Not very much is known of the life of this composer, except that hewas a French Huguenot, the younger brother of the well-known French mathematician Abraham de Moivre, with whom he movedfrom France to England after their imprisonment in France for being protestants, and it is recorded that they both became denizens ofGreat Britain on 16/12/1687. It seems that both brothers earn their livings mostly by teaching in their respective subjects for the rest of their lives. Daniel de Moivre had early training in France in recorderand composition, and in England he was known as one of the bestrecorder players at the time, together with Paisible, Banister Loilet and others. The solo suites that follow are of moderate technical difficulty andform a good basis for advancing the recorder technique to higher levels. But primarily are well made baroque dance tunes that can beused for both study and recreation. All ornaments are marked as trills starting usually on the upper note, but some of them can be interpreted as mordents or inverted mordents. There are quite a few baroque-rondeau movements withinthese suites, marked with double bar lines but without repeats.Repeats are optional here, and it depends on personal aesthetics. I find the following scheme of playing baroque- rondeau movements quite satisfactory: AA-BB-A-CC-ALegato marks and other slurs were not included in the original andare left to the performer’s decision. All tempi are only editorial suggestions which can be ignored to a reasonable degree. This volume has been created with decorated and undecorated pages and with individual front covers for each suite so that the user can add or omit pages at will and create his own book designs. The mp3 sample contains various movements from all suites.Socrates ArvanitakisLondon 2021.
