String Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1101781 Composed by Susan Brown. Chamber,Classical,Traditional. 48 pages. Susan Brown #705164. Published by Susan Brown (A0.1101781). 3 pieces for strings - a reflection of an unexpectedly fast changing world as witnessed since the beginning of this decade. Can be played as separate movements or flowing into each other. Passing opens with shock, disbelief and realisation that change has begun, followed by questioning why, and anger at at the loss of what was once a world understood to a feeling of being left behind. A feeling of the passing of time and lost youth gives way to self-pity and sadness. Anger follows, then resistance, then reflection on the speed of such change. Ultimately resignation. Looking back through the rose-tinted glasses of Reminiscing brings forth varied memories of times past and what hindsight deems to be 'those halcyon days'. Apprehensively Emerging into the new territory of change. Initially accepting the opportunities of it, then cautious and worried about the unknown to finally the knowledge that change will happen anyway - so just get on with it!

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799274 Composed by Barry Stoller. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary,Film/TV. Score and parts. 24 pages. Derek Hasted #5224117. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.799274). MATCH OF THE DAY THEME - 4 GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes Both my adult ensemble groups have played this in concert and it’s a lot of fun! It's known to UK audiences as the theme music to the TV program Match Of The Day.This version includes the uplifting key-change in the middle of the piece and if the upper three parts play outside of first position, then it’s a simple two-fret shift and no change to the left hand fingering at all!The X-headed notes are golpé strokes - but on a Classical Guitar with no scratch-protection to the front, it’s best to tap the side-panel of the bridge with the side of the thumb - it gives a great drum sound and the wood is hard and won’t mark. The metronome mark ties in with the speed of the original, but if the fast sections are a little too cumbersome for Guitar One, simply drop the pace a little. Since most of the notes are the same length, it works at almost any speed.I hope you enjoy performing this!

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Timpani,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977351 Composed by Friedrich Silcher, Hill/Hill, and Trad. Arranged by Des McNutty. Concert,Folk,Holiday,Latin. Score and parts. 24 pages. Des Press #6437339. Published by Des Press (A0.977351). Happy Birthday EdMuss i DennLa CucarachaAt last: Some new repertoire for the historical natural trumpet! This one-handed instrument was familiar to composers such as JS Bach, Handel, Telemann, Purcell, Vivaldi etc., but was largely neglected after the invention of valves in the early 19th century - and the subsequent invention of the nodal vent-hole systems in the late 20th-century - until recently, when the elusive lost art of clarino playing (in the fourth octave and above) was cracked by dedicated optimists such as Don L Smithers and JF Madeuf. These arrangements are a stylistic departure from the trumpet's golden age of Baroque repertoire, featuring works well known in the 20th century, and provide excellent training for rhythmic precision, style, pitching and team playing. They're also fun, if you like that sort of thing. Advice on tuning up the differently-pitched instruments and a technical tip are included. The current regulations on SMP mean us little guys can only publish in-copyright works one at a time. So, you can collect them all and make yourself a tome! This arrangement of Happy Birthday was written in 2011 for Edward H Tarr's 75th birthday concert in Basel (CH). Ed conducted many pieces from the Charamela Real, mostly for trumpets in two different tonalities. Happy Birthday was slipped in the programme before the second encore without his knowledge. At his downbeat, he got quite a surprise. The rest of these arrangements were originally written for Lunchtime Tower Music (weather permitting), at the Dartington International Summer School between roughly 2000 and 2010, for courses led by Michael Laird and David Staff. Such performances from the mediæval clock tower involved the various brass and other wind classes playing seriously with an informal atmosphere. Logistical issues, a narrow staircase and the ubiquitous Health-and-Safety regulations prevented the use of timpani on the tower but sometimes larger groups, and those involving vertigo sufferers, played in the courtyard instead. These pieces are the opposite of playing Baroque music on modern, or postmodern instruments. Get them all now and enjoy a refreshing change! Enjoy! DM

Published by Rachel Brown (A0.954374). This lovely waltz by Ivanovici makes an uplifting concert piece or addition to your music for weddings collection. A relatively easy piece and so can be enjoyed by a range of players. The piece is 7mins 30s with all repeats included and not too rushed. It is a tempo di valse and so should be held back especially on the last beat of each bar. Other instrument arrangements are available - please see my main SMP page by clicking the link in the following paragraph.A matching backing track is available here on SMP - please ensure you buy the backing track for your instrument as sometimes I have to change the key to fit the solo instrument. Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1322286 Composed by Ray Thompson. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 21st Century,Christmas. 25 pages. RayThompsonMusic #910631. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1322286). An original composition based on the 12 Days of Christmas, for double wind quintet/bass.The Twelve Days of Christmas is an English Christmas carol. A classic example of a cumulative song, the lyrics detail a series of increasingly numerous gifts given to the speaker by their true love on each of the twelve days of Christmas (the twelve days that make up the Christmas season, starting with Christmas Day). This is NOT a standard play through of all 12 verses. It could be a challenge for your audience to sing along to, I suggest you tell them not to try!I have added/removed/inserted bars of different length, changed the timing of entry for each new day, and generally had fun.I started the piece in the key of Bb, modulating through C, Db, D and ending in Eb!I have also added syncopation in parts. This gives the piece more interest both for the player and the listener!!The melody is carried by varying members of the dectet at different times.

B-Flat Trumpet,Percussion,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1201730 Composed by Brandon Nelson. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 37 pages. Brandon Nelson #800346. Published by Brandon Nelson (A0.1201730). Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and his theory on how colors impacted mental states was the inspiration for this piece. He was far more gifted with prose than I, so I’ll him explain further:We shall not be surprised to find that [colours’] effects are at all times decided and significant, and that they are immediately associated with the emotions of the mind.Colour, considered as an element of art, may be made subservient to the highest aesthetical needs.General impressions produced by single colours cannot be changed[.] They act specifically and must produce definite, specific states in the living organ. Experience teaches us that particular colours excite particular states of feeling.Goethe goes on to detail these notions in an elaborate, deeply imaginative treatise. Sadly for him, this work was coming out just as the science of optics had begun to give the world an empirical understanding of color, leaving Goethe’s romantic ideas in the margins. But it is those ideas that I find intriguing from a poetic viewpoint, and, in this composition, I shed musical light unto his dramatic descriptions of several different colors.“Yellow-Red†is described as “primordial, impetuous, robust,†to the point of eliciting “extreme excitement†which disturbs and enrages even animals!“Yellow†is portrayed as that being nearest to natural light. It is of “utmost purity and beauty[….] Serene, gay, softly exciting.â€The color “Red-Blue†we are told is “something lively without gladness.â€â€œBlue†is steeped in darkness, a “contradiction between excitement and repose.†It gives one the “impression of cold.†and brings to mind melancholy.

Tenor Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1371072 Composed by Christian Fortner. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 32 pages. Christian Fortner Music #955397. Published by Christian Fortner Music (A0.1371072). Want a better deal on this music? Purhcase unlimited prints at www.christianfortnermusic.com.This three-movement song cycle, consisting of texts by poet Edgar Alan Poe, reflects the dark and maniacal tone that he is known for, as well as a more somber (and maybe even hopeful?) sound later in the work. Of Good and Ill requires great versatility for both the singer and accompanist, as it quickly moves between different registers of both instruments many different times. This is also the case for tempo and mood changes within each movement. Optional attacca is included, giving performers the option to blend all three movements into one if preferred. Overall, Of Good and Ill will be an emotional ride for both performers and audiences, and getting to the end will be a rewarding experience for all!

Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.961479 Composed by Frederick William Faber. Arranged by John Wernega. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 4 pages. John Wernega #6676943. Published by John Wernega (A0.961479). Audiences and congregations will love the tight harmonies in this arrangement. The first chorus is arranged in barbershop style, having the melody in the second voice. It has a classic barbershop-style introduction, building up tension as it progresses. There are fun key changes throughout, keeping it interesting. All four parts get to play the melody at times throughout the piece. This was arranged for four B flat or C trumpets, so there is no need for a bass trumpet to be able to play this beautiful arrangement. Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1074681 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Classical,Film/TV. Score and parts. 18 pages. Derek Hasted #678951. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1074681). PRESTO (Mozart K522) The Horse Of The Year Show TV Theme - 3 GUITARS OR LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is part of the fourth movement - Presto - of Mozart’s K522 for string quartet and two horns. It’s commonly known as “A Musical Jokeâ€, though the correct translation is “Some Musical Funâ€. In the UK, a sanitised version with added drumbeat and electric bass was used as the TV theme music to “The Horse Of The Year Showâ€. My arrangement has just some of the thematic material of the original, yet still fills a music stand. An optional repeat extends the piece to a little over 3 minutes. Mozart intended the piece as a showcase of how NOT to write, and the Presto contains some extraordinary and modern-sounding key changes as well as some rather odd counterpoint. The original Presto finishes with an unexpected burst into 4 different keys, all sounding together after one of the longest build-ups to an ending you’ll ever hear. My setting for 3 guitars ends in 3 of the 4 keys that Mozart burst into. Most audiences would probably associate this with a catastrophic disaster, so I’ve included a second ending that stays in key for a nice happy ending! Rather than the isolated quavers (eighth notes) and rests, I’ve used staccato marks to make a version that is much easier to read yet has exactly the same articulation. I hope you enjoy this piece!

Euphonium,Low Brass Quartet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1451869 Composed by Jonathan P. Kochik (ASCAP). Chamber. 29 pages. Jonathan Kochik Music, LLC #1031179. Published by Jonathan Kochik Music, LLC (A0.1451869). Times of change are not always easy to go through in life. Maybe you have become comfortable with the way things are or, perhaps, you are so scared of change that just thinking about it gives you anxiety, but not all change is bad change. If we take a moment to observe the natural occurrences that take place around us every day – sunrises and sunsets, tides coming in and going out, the transformation of winter to spring – we can begin to see that change is a necessary part of growing and developing into who we. However, these moments in your life are not always easy ones. Anew explores the journey of someone experiencing a moment of great change in their life. What sort of emotions are they feeling? What thoughts are going through their head? As someone who has gone through a big shift in my career path, I wanted to compose a piece to help me process my emotions and organize the thoughts in my head on why I felt this change needed to happen. Having the motto “words fail music speaks,” I was inspired as a composer by way of ostinato rhythms, melodic extension, and juxtaposed musical styles to help unpack what words simply could not quantify.

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.900406 Composed by Gustavo Fuentes. Arranged by Gustavo Fuentes. Celtic,Folk,Holiday,New Age,World. 4 pages. Gustavo Fuentes #3637535. Published by Gustavo Fuentes (A0.900406). New Heaven. Celtic music song composed by Gustavo Fuentes, arranged for two voices. Two melody instruments, such as tin whistle, low whistle, flute, recorder, piano or violin, with chords for piano or guitar. The audio is from to the Gustavo Fuentes CD Almas en vuelo that you can listen to on Spotify. Some things in this universe always remain the same while others are constantly changing. We are at the mercy of time and the changing seasons. Time is precisely what gives us perspective and helps us realize our reality is always evolving. Some changes are inevitable and we cannot do anything about them. They can be beautiful and fill our souls with joy and excitement or they can fill us with sorrow. But there are other types of changes which are fully up to us and that is what this song is about. There are times when we decide to make personal changes in order to go on a new journey and reimagine our heaven. A new heaven which will give us the strength and the courage to fight our fears and our demons. When we change our destiny and fight despite all setbacks, we become the warriors of our own battles.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.966751 Composed by STAR IN THE EAST (from The Southern Harmony). Arranged by Dillon Ekle. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas,Sacred. Score and parts. 9 pages. Dillon Ekle #3068529. Published by Dillon Ekle (A0.966751). Brightest and Best is an original piece based on the hymn tune STAR IN THE EAST (from The Southern Harmony), most commonly used with the text Brightest and Best of the Sons of the Morning. As such, the arrangement is well suited to use in the Christmas and Epiphany seasons. However, the tune's general appeal make it a great addition to worship in any season, as well as use in concert or recital settings. In addition to the main hymn melody, this piece is woven through with original counter melodies and rich harmonies. Through much of the piece, flowing, running 8th notes and rhythmic bass lines maintain motion beneath the soaring melody. The second verse slows down with a quarter note motif reminiscent of change-ringing bells, keeping an open and ethereal sound with building anticipation before the interlude melodies return in full force for the conclusion. Most of these features and ideas appear in both the secondo and primo parts in this 1-piano, 4-hands piece. Both parts are of similar difficulty, and because the melodies are found anywhere from the middle voices to the top voices, care is needed to keep the ensemble balanced at all times for a musical performance.A preview performance can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnIo4rnHizUThe PDF file is formatted to be printed double-sided. Once printed and bound, odd numbered pages (including the cover page) should be on the right (where the primo player sits), and even numbered pages should be on the left (where the secondo player sits). Alternatively, if two pianos are being used, the file can be printed single-sided and the parts separated out; the primo player will have the odd numbered pages, and the secondo player will have the even numbered pages.

String Ensemble,String Quintet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928964 Composed by John Jacob Niles. Arranged by Donald A. Mills. Folk. Score and parts. 7 pages. Donald A Mills #3400179. Published by Donald A Mills (A0.928964). 2017 CHAMBER MUSIC CONTEST ENTRYI Wonder as I Wander is a Christian folk hymn, typically performed as a Christmas carol, written by American folklorist and singer John Jacob Niles. The hymn has its origins in a song fragment collected by Niles on July 16, 1933.While in the town of Murphy in Appalachian North Carolina, Niles attended a fundraising meeting held by evangelicals who had been ordered out of town by the police. In his unpublished autobiography, he wrote of hearing the song:A girl had stepped out to the edge of the little platform attached to the automobile. She began to sing. Her clothes were unbelievably dirty and ragged, and she too was unwashed. Her ash-blond hair hung down in long skeins.... But, best of all, she was beautiful, and in her untutored way, she could sing. She smiled as she sang, smiled rather sadly, and sang only a single line of a song. The girl, named Annie Morgan, repeated the fragment seven times in exchange for a quarter per performance, and Niles left with three lines of verse, a garbled fragment of melodic material-and a magnificent idea. (In various accounts of this story, Niles hears between one and three lines of the song.) Based on this fragment, Niles composed the version of I Wonder as I Wander that is known today, extending the melody to four lines and the lyrics to three stanzas. His composition was completed on October 4, 1933. Niles first performed the song on December 19, 1933, at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina. It was originally published in Songs of the Hill Folk in 1934.This arrangement of I Wonder As I Wander is a five-part string ensemble, revised 12.12.17. It was arranged specifically for the 2017 Chamber Music Contest on www.SheetMusicPlus.com. Used by permission.

Guitar,Medium-Low Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205814 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Simon James. Chamber,Classical,Opera. 11 pages. DML #803997. Published by DML (A0.1205814). This charming serenade is taken from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. Although originally a type of madrigal by the 18th century the term Canzonetta came to mean a song for voice and accompaniment, usually in a light secular style. The Canzonetta appears at the beginning of Act 2 of Don Giovanni. Wanting to seduce Donna Elvira's maid, and believing that she will trust him better if he appears in lower-class clothes, Don Giovanni orders Leporello to exchange cloak and hat with him. Leporello, posing as Don Giovanni, leads Donna Elvira away to keep her occupied while Don Giovanni serenades her maid with his mandolin - Deh, vieni alla finestra – Ah, come to the window. The original instrumentation was for mandolin and pizzicato strings and so transfers to two guitars very well. I have dropped the key from D to C as otherwise the baritone part is rather high and the key change makes it more comfortable. The guitar parts are not difficult but do need a really good sense of ensemble. I have altered the chord voicings occasionally to better suit the guitar and sometimes changed octave for guitar 1 which is essentially the mandolin part.

Score and parts. 21 pages. James Orcutt #3860631. Published by James Orcutt (A0.1012213). Yeshua Adonai is a praise song for Christians and Hebrew Messianic alike. The piece is done in Finale 2012 and uses instruments that were from Biblical times (or as close as can be replicated by Finale). The lack of a recorded voice (a piano fills that line) leaves room for a soloist to sing, or, better still, the whole church family joins in. This is an interactive piece, so you will be clapping your hands, stomping your feet waving your arms and giving a hearty HEY as you worship the Lord Jesus Christ! The duration is circa 3:00 and there's 2 tempo changes. Jewish feasts were intended to be solemn and worshipful, yet joyous times of celebration also. Now that Yeshua is risen from the dead, focus on the joy this music will bring to each soul who sings or listens. Shalom !!! :).

Instrumental Duet,Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549885 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. 23 pages. Jmsgu3 #3602675. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549885). Score: 12 pages, piano part: 6 pages, viola part: 4 pages. duration: ca. 5'. This is the famous wedding march from Op. 61 composed in 1842 and commonly performed as a recessional march at the end of a wedding. The piece was originally composed for orchestra then arranged for organ and performed by Mendelssohn himself. Mendelssohn: Wedding March Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is so popular that it’s difficult to imagine a wedding without it. It seems like it’s been around for eternity. In any case, it was only 150 years or so ago that the Wedding March came about. It was performed in Potsdam for the first time in 1842, as a piece of Mendelssohn’s music for the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was first used for a wedding in 1858 Mendelssohn Background Felix Mendelssohn (1809 –1847) was, by all means, a German mastermind composer, musician and orchestra conductor of the Romantic period. Consequently, Mendelssohn composed in the usual forms of the time - symphonies, concertos, oratorios, piano music, and chamber music. To summarize, his most famous works include his music for A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Italian Symphony, the Scottish Symphony, The Hebrides Overture, his later Concerto for Violin & Orchestra, and his Octet for Strings. His most well-known piano pieces, by and large, are the Songs Without Words. Artistic Standing Musical tastes change from time to time. Moreover, just such a change occurred in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This plus rampant antisemitism brought a corresponding amount of undue criticism. Fortunately, however, his artistic inventiveness has indeed been critically re-evaluated. As a result, Mendelssohn is once again among the most prevalent composers of the Romantic era. Early Family Life Mendelssohn was, in fact, born into a prominent Jewish family. His grandfather was, notably, the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. Felix was, in fact, raised without religion. At the age of seven, he was all of a sudden baptized as a Reformed Christian. He was, moreover, a child musical prodigy. Nevertheless, his parents did not attempt to exploit his talent. Early Adulthood Mendelssohn was, in general, successful in Germany. He conducted, in particular, a revival of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, specifically with his presentation of the St Matthew Passion in 1829. Felix was truly in demand throughout Europe as a composer, conductor, and soloist. For example, he visited Britain ten times. There, he premiered, namely, many of his major works. His taste in music was. To be sure, inventive and well-crafted yet markedly conservative. This conservatism separated him by all means from more audacious musical colleagues like Liszt, Wagner, and Berlioz. Mendelssohn founded the Leipzig Conservatoire which, to clarify, became a defender of this conservative viewpoint. Mature Adulthood Schumann notably wrote that Mendelssohn was the Mozart of the nineteenth century, the most brilliant musician, the one who most clearly sees through the contradictions of the age and for the first time reconciles them. This observation points to a couple of features in particular that illustrate Mendelssohn's works and his artistic procedure. Musical Features In the first place, his musical style was fixed in his methodical mastery of the style of preceding masters. This being said, he certainly recognized and even developed early romanticism from the music of Beethoven and Weber. Secondly, it indicates that Mendelssohn sought to strengthen his inherited musical legacy rather than to exchange it with new forms and styles or replace it with exotic orchestration. Consequently, he diverged his contemporaries in the romantic period, such as Wagner, Berlioz.

SATB divisi chorus a cappella - Digital Download SKU: BJ.1505 Composed by Martin Åsander. Kitty O'Meara wrote a poem during the Covid-19 pandemic. Like the virus, the poem got viral and spread across the world – but with a message of hope. Here put to music for choir a cappella. Secular. 11 pages. Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital #1505. Published by Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital (BJ.1505). 8.27 x 11.7 inches. We all remember the pandemic that swept the planet in early 2020. Lifestyles changed: less social contact, followed by rapid change in workplaces, health care and other institutions. Everyone was affected in some way. Playing music – and choir singing in particular – was considered by many countries to pose an increased risk of spreading infection and was discouraged. During these strange times, I found a poem by Kitty O’Meara on social media. The text originates from her own blog post in March 2020 with the title In the Time of Pandemic. The poem poses an image for a distinctive perspective during the coronavirus outbreak, the hope that something good can come from a collective state of together, apart. The idea of individual freedom of action when things are beyond our control, and at the same time a notion that the time after this will not only exist but can be better than before. The lyrics inspired the music to be both meditative with repetitive phrases and motifs and also uplifting and full of confidence and joy. And the People Stayed Home was commissioned to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the St Jacob’s Vocal Ensemble and was first performed at St Jacob’s Church in Stockholm on November 19, 2022. – Martin Åsander.

Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1135655 By Ruth B. By Ruth Berhe. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. Instructional,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Chords/Lyrics. 2 pages. Brian Streckfus #735713. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1135655). This is a shortened version of the song to fit nicely on two pages (I needed a shorter version for the circumstances I'm under). The melody and lyrics are like the original as far as I can tell, but I did make changes to the harmony. Usually these changes to the harmony are to enhance the word painting, or to have it be more idiomatic to guitar. A version like this is ideal for someone who wants to play a very fancy version of the song on solo guitar, though adding vocals in should still be fairly easy. I personally sing a lot better if I can play the melody first on guitar because then I know exactly what I'm doing. Versions like these can really be as simple or as complex as you want, if you want something simple, just play the chord diagrams and sing!1. Guitar Arrangement Lead Sheet Style2. Guitar Tab 3. Chord Charts 4. Less stereotypical chords 5. Fingerings and letter names added to aid in sight-reading 6. Voice leading considerations 7. Making the music idiomatic for guitarTips:1. Notes with the stem direction going down are background harmonies that should be played quietly. This hidden meaning tends to only happen with polyphonic instruments such as piano and guitar. You'll eventually notice this anyways because there is no lyric underneath the note.1. Slurs are notated to the make the music easier and better sounding for guitar not vocals, though of course it often mimicks slurs similiar to a vocalist.2. Fmaj7(#11) is not in the original and is a key change since it includes an F and not an F#.3. Sometimes it can look like the melody does not contain a key change, but then when you anaylze the letter names of the chords, you will find that there is indeed key changes in the chords. The Beatles is a good example of a band that does this often.4. E minor and G major chords technically only need 2 or 3 notes. This is one simple but effective strategy to have less cliche chords.5. The F(#5)(#11) chord in the second to last measure could probably be just an F major chord.6. The E natural in measure 42 could be an Eb if the harmony is too avant-garde for you. Made sense to me because of word painting and I wanted a keyless and dreamy feeling for the end. 7. G/B chords are arguably nicer than a full G chord, though of course the decision is ultimately up to. It is better because the chord is imperfect, it causes the audience to not clap too soon. I also only strum the chord up to where the vocal melody is happening, that way the main melody is always in the spot light, and I find songs are easier to sing this way.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797818 By Supertramp. By Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 24 pages. Derek Hasted #6345113. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797818). TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME (Supertramp) - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is an arrangement for 4 guitars (or a large ensemble) of Supertramp’s 'Take The Long Way Home'.The original is nothing less than spectacular, running for a full 5 minutes with verse, chorus and instrumental breaks, and utilising rich orchestration and texture. I’ve captured all of the material in my arrangement, changing the key just slightly so that the shapes and melody are comfortable, and simplifying one or two non-guitar-friendly progressions in the breaks. The bass-line and harmony are close to the original. Guitar 4 could be played an octave lower on a contra guitar, although I’ve used subharmonics in the opening to give the illusion of a deeper bass than a guitar can manage. In order to make the piece music-stand-friendly, I’ve needed to use repeat marks meaning that the second verse has the same bass-line as the first, but a simple change in volume will provide a suitable feeling of building as the piece progresses. The opening section needs to imitate the indefinite sustain of high-pitched violins. By using harmonics across all four parts, and interleaving the repetitions, we can get a convincing sustain (or plucking at random times across the parts, or even a tremolo would also create the illusion of indefinite sustain). But if it doesn’t work in your ensemble, simply start the piece at A and omit all harmonics from that point onwards. My arrangement will suit an intermediate ensemble. Parts 3 and 4 are slightly easier, but skilled players on these lines can make magic happen by a confident use of articulation to shape the music’s texture.I hope you enjoy performing this!

Large Ensemble Flute,Mandolin,Oboe,Soprano Recorder,Tenor Recorder,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.917070 Composed by Georg Philipp Telemann. Arranged by John Goodin. Instructional. Score and parts. 52 pages. Rosie and Earl Music #4347897. Published by Rosie and Earl Music (A0.917070). G.P. Telemann was one of the most prolific composers in history. According to Steven Zohn in his Music for a Mixed Taste: Style, Genre, and Meaning in Telemann's Instrumental Works (Oxford University Press, 2008) the menuets in this collection were first published by the composer in Hamburg in 1728 under the title Sept fois sept et un menuet (Seven times Seven plus One Menuets), and most likely were issued to subscribers in groups of seven throughout the year. While only a combined score with melody lines in the treble clef and figured bass has survived, an advertisement from the time suggests that either part may have been available on its own. These arrangements have been created by raising the bass line into the treble clef, creating a part playable by mandolin, violin or any other instrument capable of reaching the G below middle C. I was able to preserve the shape of the bass lines in most cases although I did sometimes have to ignore octave leaps and, in two or three spots (with great reluctance), I was forced to change a note. These duos are both educational and fun. They are suitable for both private enjoyment and public performance and make excellent teaching tools.
