Published by Hope Publishing - Digital (H1.8829DP). Original ballad Ideal for Mother's Day or Father's Day, this tender ballad by Joseph Martin is an earnest prayer of thanks for family. Recognizing that today's families come in all varieties, with no two the same, and sometimes with imperfections, this poignant text beautifully captures the need for the church to honor and recognize the care of all families and to build a home of grace.

Choir Sacred Instrumental Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: JX.00-32333 InstruPax. Composed by Book by Cindy Sterling and Sheldon Curry. Arranged by Sheldon Curry. This edition: InstruPax. Choral (Sacred); Choral Worship Cantata; Larger Works; Performance Music Ensemble; Worship Resources. Christmas; Sacred; Winter. Part(s). 75 pages. Jubilate Music Group - Digital #00-32333. Published by Jubilate Music Group - Digital (JX.00-32333). English. Book by Cindy Sterling; Sheldon Curry.A Simple Christmas Pageant is a multi-generational Christmas program. It is brief (35 minutes), intentionally simple, and reminiscent of a slower gentler time (think A Prairie Home Companion meets A Charlie Brown Christmas). There are only two speaking parts: a Storyteller and Saint Nicholas. Cindy Sterling and Sheldon Curry have created a hassle-free, inexpensive alternative to big Christmas musicals. It requires little rehearsal time and few financial resources and is extremely family-friendly. For the most part, the music and carols are familiar, and the congregation sings along with every piece. It is intended for folks who want to provide a relaxed Christmas program the whole neighborhood will attend and enjoy. A Simple Christmas Pageant is a warm, community-building Christmas worship event---sure to become an annual tradition.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797818 By Supertramp. By Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 24 pages. Derek Hasted #6345113. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797818). TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME (Supertramp) - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is an arrangement for 4 guitars (or a large ensemble) of Supertramp’s 'Take The Long Way Home'.The original is nothing less than spectacular, running for a full 5 minutes with verse, chorus and instrumental breaks, and utilising rich orchestration and texture. I’ve captured all of the material in my arrangement, changing the key just slightly so that the shapes and melody are comfortable, and simplifying one or two non-guitar-friendly progressions in the breaks. The bass-line and harmony are close to the original. Guitar 4 could be played an octave lower on a contra guitar, although I’ve used subharmonics in the opening to give the illusion of a deeper bass than a guitar can manage. In order to make the piece music-stand-friendly, I’ve needed to use repeat marks meaning that the second verse has the same bass-line as the first, but a simple change in volume will provide a suitable feeling of building as the piece progresses. The opening section needs to imitate the indefinite sustain of high-pitched violins. By using harmonics across all four parts, and interleaving the repetitions, we can get a convincing sustain (or plucking at random times across the parts, or even a tremolo would also create the illusion of indefinite sustain). But if it doesn’t work in your ensemble, simply start the piece at A and omit all harmonics from that point onwards. My arrangement will suit an intermediate ensemble. Parts 3 and 4 are slightly easier, but skilled players on these lines can make magic happen by a confident use of articulation to shape the music’s texture.I hope you enjoy performing this!

Instrumental Solo,Percussion - Level 3 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1144558 Composed by David Oosse. This edition: Interactive Download. Classical,Contest. Individual part. 6 pages. Duration 260. David Oosse #1sortUrmgC4z7A8eT8O2W. Published by David Oosse (A0.1144558). Key: D minor.A New Beginning is a marimba solo written based on the many personal and internal changes and revelations I had within the first few months of leaving my home town for more than a couple weeks for the first time. Not only was leaving alone a new beginning, but the opportunities and accomplishments, as well as the hardships and the failures, have already brought an entirely new meaning to my own life, as well as those of others around me. The piece itself represents uncertainties and instabilities leading to new opportunities and personal development, paralleled with a passion and a drive to thrive in a world of seemingly endless possibilities. The structure is roughly as follows: Wondering, unknowing, expecting, renewing, rebuilding, unknowing yet trusting, expecting and thriving, and looking beyond. Duration: 4:20 Equipment: 5.0 Oct. Arranged by Chris Gorman. Jazz. Brass Band. 25 pages. Chris Gorman #690527. Published by Chris Gorman (A0.1086327). In August 1956, Duke Ellington and his orchestra were in Canada, performing in the same city as the ongoing Stratford Shakespearean Festival. Curious, Ellington and his longtime composer/arranger Billy Strayhorn talked to festival staffers, and Ellington soon announced his next album project would be a conceptual piece, paying tribute to Shakespeare's varied works with appropriate jazz compositions. In addition to the Such Sweet Thunder album, he promised the entire suite would be performed at the 1957 edition of the festival. Ellington and Strayhorn began building a home library of Shakespeare, seeking out Shakespeare experts, and reading through the canon during orchestra downtime. The title comes from Act IV scene i of A Midsummer Night's Dream, where Hippolyta says: I never heard / So musical a discord, such sweet thunder. The suite that would constitute Such Sweet Thunder was written in just under three weeks and recorded in early 1957. Although most of the compositions were created for the suite in conjunction with Strayhorn, a few were versions of older Strayhorn songs that were reworked and re-titled for the collection.

DaCapo Primary Music #904157. Published by DaCapo Primary Music (A0.1315421). This book contains 66 songs for the instrumentalistThe Complete Instrumentalist Two is the second book in a series for instrumental players, designed to help develop excellent musicianship. It is written in stick notation* with an additional five line stave so that pupils or teachers can write out the music in whichever clef or key they choose to use. The songs are grouped by the number of notes in the piece and are mostly diatonic with a few pentatonic and modal pieces. As with all of the DaCapo books it is left to the teachers to decide which section of the book to start with. Tempos and dynamic markings are also left to the teachers and pupils. We have suggested activities that can be applied to the entire repertoire and there are some extra ideas for specific pieces included on some pages, along with extra information for the pupil. In many instances the songs have been reworded as it was felt that the subject matter or use of language was a barrier for some pupils. There are a few pieces where this may still be true but we have decided against rewording because of the cultural or historical aspect of the song and the opportunity to educate children beyond the music (e.g. spirituals).Whilst every attempt has been made to source music in the public domain we would like to know if errors have been made. We hope that you enjoy the next step to becoming a Complete Instrumentalist.Jane Cutler Carl Herring 2012*stick notationThe purpose of stick notation is to build excellent inner hearing. You can't guess the intervals – they have to be known or learned via the solfa in order to hear the music from the page. Pupils can then translate and transfer this to their instrument and then onto a five-line stave.• We show the rhythm only - with solfa syllables under the relevant note• No note head used unless for a minim, dotted minim or semibreve• The home note or tonic of each piece is indicated by an emboldened solfa syllable e.g. d r m f s shows do as the tonic • Where notes fall under or above the home note or tonic, they are indicated thus: s, d’• A tick’( I ) has been used instead of bar lines. You can find more DaCapo pieces for young instrumentalists at DaCapo Music Shop

Un ángel de marfil (Ivory Angel), Celtic Song by Gustavo Fuentes

Small Ensemble Cello,Flute,Soprano Recorder,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.900403 Composed by Gustavo Fuentes. Arranged by Gustavo Fuentes. Celtic,Folk,Holiday,New Age,World. Score and parts. 5 pages. Gustavo Fuentes #3637513. Published by Gustavo Fuentes (A0.900403). Ivory Angel. Celtic music song composed by Gustavo Fuentes, arranged for three voices. Two melody instruments, such as tin whistle, low whistle, flute, recorder, piano or violin, and low voice like cello or bass, with chords for piano or guitar. The audio is from to the Gustavo Fuentes CD Almas en vuelo that you can listen to on Spotify. The Celtics strongly believed in the elements of nature. They believed that animals, plants and even rocks had a life and a spirit. And they considered trees to be the most important elements. Trees symbolized life: the roots were in the Underworld, the branches in the Otherworld and the trunk in the Middle Earth. Trees gave the Celtics wood to build homes and weapons and to shelter them from the cold. They also shielded them from the sun with their shadow. Trees gave them fruit to eat and they lodged birds, the messengers of the Gods, in their branches. Trees protected people’s spirits and so each person was assigned a sacred tree according to their date of birth.Even today we still have spirits and objects that protect us. In the case of artists, their own art is often their protector. The title of this song refers to the ivory angel, the piano, however, this song is dedicated to all the instruments that help us express ourselves and prevent us from being lonely, silent or forgotten.

Silent Night (Bb) (Euphonium Octet - Bass Clef)

Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813984 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 11 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636627. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813984). Euphonium Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (11 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a Euphonium Octet, written in Bass Clef, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There is also a version for a Euphonium Octet, written in Treble Clef, if you prefer. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813986 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 12 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636629. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813986). Included are a score and a complete set of parts (12 pages). Also, in addition to this version for a Euphonium Octet, written in Treble Clef, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There is also a version for a Euphonium Octet, written in Bass Clef, if you prefer. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. Horn,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.814533 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. 11 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636617. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.814533). Brass Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. Also, in addition to this version for a Brass Octet, consisting of 4 Trumpets, 1 French Horn and 3 Trombones, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles.
