Mixed Percussion Accordion,Acoustic Guitar,Electric Bass Guitar,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105258 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Celtic,Country,Folk,Irish. Full Performance. Duration 233. David Kai #708518. Published by David Kai (A0.1105258). A song celebrating the people of Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador in Canada who helped close to 7,000 stranded airline passengers after September 11, 2001. The story of Gander and the surrounding towns has been immortalized in the Broadway show, Come From Away. The song is written in a Celtic/Newfoundland style. This song features the use of an Ugly Stick, a traditional Newfoundland percussion instrument. WHEN THE WORLD DROPS IN TO TOWN Words and music by David Kai ©2020 On the 11th of September, in a quiet little town In a place that they call Newfoundland, all the planes were coming down Just how many were arriving, it was hard to know or tell In a quiet town in Newfoundland on the day the towers fell. With ten thousand waiting on the ground, seven thousand on their way The schools and halls and churches were preparing for their stay And not only in Gander, but in places all around ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town. Chorus: So raise a glass to them, let’s sing a song to cheer For all the workers, cooks and clerks, for all the volunteers Who showed such kindness, who stepped up when chips were down ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town All the stores they opened up their doors, the supplies, how fast they flew! “Take it all to help the plane people, it’s the least that we can do!†Aunt Winnie baked two dozen of her partridgeberry pies She said, “I think those plane people will be in for some surprise!†So the people were all settled, and much to their delight There were home-cooked meals and showers in homes, even trips to see the sights Though they came from countries ‘round the world, they did seem to all fit in And in kitchen parties here and there, new found friends were being screeched in. Chorus: Soon the skies, they were reopened, just a week and they were gone Though the planes took off into the skies all the memories lingered on For what they all remember, and what’s talked of to this day Is how townsfolk cared for people who had come from far away. So let’s sing and let’s be thankful, for each and every one Who showed us how to live together in the year two-thousand one, Let’s celebrate their kindness, for we never will forget, That in Newfoundland a stranger’s just a friend you haven’t met. Chorus:.

Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576279 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 4 pages. David Warin Solomons #15653. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576279). This song was inspired by my initial reactions to the realization that I am infertile. In my case this was due to Kallmann's syndrome I am now perfectly happy with my infertility, after all, there is much else to do in the world and Dawkins' selfish gene can simply go spin its plot elsewhere: my children are my compositions, and they populate the world in their own way with joy, humour and thoughtfulness... wherever they will... ... However, I know there are many who are not happy with childlessness, so I dedicate this song to them ....and to my past self. The sound sample is my own performance. Here are the words: Learn this my child, who never hears my word Your luck is out, you are but but a poem deaf to change You are a romantic ramble on absurd round which the childless brain desires to range Hear this my daughter, blind to loveliness Your love is mine, untouchable, unknown to all Save to a song befitting her distress Whom Sappho loved but answered not her call See this my eunuch, watching others` joy Your luck was in, your luck was in You threw it far away, too far away for its return Save to another and another boy while I look on, unmoved as from a star Taste this my tears grown cold Resigned and pure Your love is his I know not whose nor do I care Yet love I would, and yet cannot be sure that another`s love could now be mine to share Warm this my heart These strings beget my child Their luck is in Their love is mine So close, my son! My daughter`s breath sings Through my fingers styled Sings to herself All other children shun © David W Solomons Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOB34ds34Tk

Baritone Horn TC,Euphonium,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552857 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 18 pages. Jmsgu3 #3511309. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552857). Duration: ca. 2:17 Score: 10 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 5 pages. A proven audience pleaser - perfect for a recital encore!Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. As a matter of fact, most music historians consider him one of the foremost Romantic era composers. Consequently, his music is part of the international standard classical repertoire. Grieg moreover used Norwegian folk music in his own compositions. Consequently, he ushered Norwegian music to transnational consciousness. Furthermore, he forged a national musical identity for Norway. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and Bedřich Smetana in Bohemia. Legacy Grieg is especially celebrated in the city of Bergen. For example, the city has erected numerous statues depicting Grieg. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. As a matter of fact, there is also a museum located at his former home in Troldhaugen. Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (Op. 46) Grieg wrote incidental music for the purpose of illustrating a play by Ibsen known as Peer Gynt. The play includes, in particular, the famous selection entitled, In the Hall of the Mountain King. In this composition, Grieg indeed depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, thereupon striking his skull on a boulder. He wakens forthwith in a highland bounded by angry gnomes. Consequently, the music of In the Hall of the Mountain King represents the mad gnomes taunting Peer. Therefore, each time the theme repeats it gets louder and faster. In the end, Peer surprisingly escapes from the mountain. Holberg Suite and Misc. Summary It must be remembered that Grieg originally wrote his Holberg Suite for the piano. In other words, he only later arranged it for strings. Further, Grieg composed by and large many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.

The Daedalus and Icarus Journey

Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.942097 Composed by Apostolos Paraskevas. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 11 pages. Silver Sickle Publications #6104711. Published by Silver Sickle Publications (A0.942097). This guitar and vocal work were originally set on the Robert Frost poem ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening’, and was written for a lecture series at Boston University given by Lukas Foss entitled ‘Words on Music. Some years later I set out to publish the work and found that the estate of the late R. Frost frowned upon this particular practice and after a second failed attempt to get permission to publish the work, I decided to write my own verse for this composition (my first actually) and use a subject familiar to me, the story of Daedalus and Icarus Journey to freedom. After his arrival in Crete, Daedalus found that Minos would not let him leave. He subsequently obtained wax and feathers and fashioned wings for himself and his son Icarus. With these they succeeded in flying away, but Icarus, flying too near to the sun, melted his wings, fell into the sea near Crete, and drowned; Daedalus escaped to Italy only to fall into the hands of the local King Kokalos who drowned him in hot water. The Daedalus and Icarus JourneyEscape from here is what I’ll doI have a plan I thought it throughThe waves beneath us deadly wildI’ll fly up high, it’s just the sky That was a dreadful thing to sayTo fly so high, you can’t survive.Your wings, your soul and frozen smile,The sun will burn and you will die. The Death you seek I am sure you’ll get,He’s there for you he won’t forget. He will be fast and kind with you,If He survived why not you too? It’s time to go the sky gets blueMy mind will be so close to youYou cannot scare me I have to try,The time is right, let’s say goodbye. Text by Apostolos Paraskevas

Small Ensemble Flute,Piano,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008082 Composed by Connie Pwll Walck Tyler. Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 14 pages. Connie Tyler #4607671. Published by Connie Tyler (A0.1008082). This piece, for soprano and alto duet with piano and flute, speaks of the persistence of the dove, the peace maker, faced with war, famine, poverty, etc. It was written when the United States went to war with Afghanistan and Representative Barbara Lee stood up and was the lone voice against war. Although the piece is secular, the use of the symbol of the dove would work well in religious services. The piece involves a two against three rhythm which suggests the difficulties the dove faces flying for peace against the overwhelming odds of war. The .mp3 file is computer generated with choral oohs for the voices. The words are:Now the dove flies, sails the war-torn skies, feels the wind rip through her wings.Tossed and turned now, cries of war howl,tear-ing through her, and she still sings. Sings to march-ers on crowd-ed streetssing-ing songs of love and songs of peace.Tips her wings to those who dare stand tall, speak re-sound-ing no's in hal-lowed halls. They say that that sin means to miss the mark.I have so man-y times aimed in the dark.We fail in lit-tle ways, be-tray our friends. It was-n't planned that way.Dis-trac-tion leads to e-vil ends. The sha-dow fear clouds our at-ten-tion.Mind falls a-stray in-to dis-sen-sion. Ig-no rance can twist the dartand then it falls far from the mark. Na-tions, too, a-stray our free-doms bend‘til some have bombed away all chance at friends. We see glo-ry mag-ni-fied.Shout our prais-es to the to the skies.Build our mon-u-ments to our wars,for-get-ting the needs of of weak and poor. And still the dove flies while the earth criespol-lu-ted with more de-bris of war.Child-ren sick now, soldiers cry foul!Dove is weep-ing and yet she hums. Hums to child-ren who diede-spite moth-ers' deep cries.Sings to young who march to war,de-spite fa-thers' out-raged roars.Wings o-ver fa-mine and drought,pol-lu-ted wa-ter, pol-lu-ted ground.Folds us un-der her down-y breast.Warms us in her gen tle nest. Yes, the dove flies. Sails the wa- torn skies.Feels the wind rip through her wings.Tossed and turned now cries of war howltear-ing through her and yet,and yet she sings. Voice Duet Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.779671 Composed by Arthur Le Clerq. Arranged by Kim Kirkman. Broadway,Contemporary,Musical/Show,Traditional. Score. 4 pages. Kim Kirkman #6697501. Published by Kim Kirkman (A0.779671). This is a wonderful old comedy song. This is in C major - the high key for sopranosI have put in the first verse that Tessie sings, plus the spoken part. I have changed some of the words of the spoken part to update them.I have then constructed a third verse from other verses that Le Clerq wrote. To sing it exactly like Tessie please repeat first verse.Words:Verse:For years a fairy queen I've bin', For years I foiled the demon king. But alas, I'm getting on, The years have flown somehow,And I feel that Fairy Snowdrop isn't wanted now.Chorus One:Nobody loves a fairy when she's forty.Nobody loves a fairy when she's old.She may still have her magic power, But that is not enough,They like their bit of magic from a younger bit of fluff. When once your silver star has lost its glitter,And your tinsel looks like rust instead of gold.Your fairy days are ending when your wand has started bending.Noone loves a fairy when she's old.Spoken:T'was I who found the magic wand, I will not tell you where.T'was I who found young Tinkerbell, her head was full of airI’ve been a fairy of the flowers, and fairy daffodils,I’ve been a fairy of the wind, and suffer from it still! In certain covered valley hills I go down to the glenBeen loved by all the children and run after by the men. Huh!Noone could touch me at me splits, me splits were all the rage,Until the night woodman left his chopper on the stage, what a mess!Verse 2:Nobody loves a fairy when she's forty.Nobody loves a fairy when she's old.As far as I can see they try to push you off the map,When once your wand has withered and your wings refuse to flap. When you have lost your little fairy dimples,And the mothholes in your dress let in the cold,It seems that they would sooner listen to a blinkin' crooner,Noone loves a fai-y when she's old!

DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (Original version) With this edition, the original version of Wagner’s opera Der fliegende Holländer [The flying Dutchman] WWV 63 is made available to the public for the first time in piano score form. The score on which the edition is based was published in the Richard Wagner-Complete Edition 1983: Richard Wagner. Collected works Vol. 4, I-II, The Flying Dutchman. Romantic opera in three acts (original version 1841), edited by Isolde Vetter (Schott Music International, Mainz, RWA 104-10/RWA 104-20).†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Wagner, at the time a completely unknown Kapellmeister in France, trying to get a foothold in Paris, saw the opportunity for a stage work that would meet the fashion at the Paris Opera of performing several short works one after another. Der fliegende Holländer, conceived in 1840 and composed in 1841, seemed to him suited to the purpose. In 1841, even when Wagner no longer counted on a success in Paris, he still held to the conception of a one-act opera and offered the work to German opera houses under the title of “Romantic Opera in One Act and Three Scenesâ€. This version is set in Scotland, taking as the literary model for the opera Heinrich Heine’s novel fragment “From the Memoirs of Mr. Schnabelewopskiâ€, and the protagonists have English names. This version was never performed in Wagner’s lifetime. Beginning in 1842, the work went through a tale of constant revision: Even before the Dresden premiere (2nd January 1843) Wagner undertook fundamental alterations. He transposed the location from Scotland to Norway, changed character’s names as appropriate, divided the opera into three acts – not least due to considerations of scene changes – and transposed Senta’s Ballad from A minor to G minor. It was in this version that the score of the opera went to print in 1845. For a performance in 1860 he composed the later so-called ‘Tristan’ or ‘Redemption’ ending to the Overture. Until the very end of his life, Wagner contemplated a plan for a final score or a definitive vocal score: it never came to be, so that to this day, as with Tannhäuser, we still do not have Der fliegende Holländer in a final version. Based on the research conducted in the creation of the Complete Edition, our editions contain, in one case the original version of 1841, while the other essentially goes back to the first printing of the score of 1845, but with the addition of the source material for the retouchings dating from 1842 to 1889. VOCAL SCORES The original version of the opera was made available for the first time in a vocal score in 2005 (ED 8065). The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).Les opéras de Richard Wagner paraissent pour la première fois sous forme de piano-chant chez Schott en version originale. Sont déjà publiés dans la série : L’Or du Rhin, Lohengrin, Parsifal et Le Vaisseau fantôme (première version de 1841 et version 1842-1880). Les autres opéras de Wagner représentés à Bayreuth paraîtront d'ici 2013, année anniversaire de la naissance du compositeur.

Small Ensemble Cello,Flute,Soprano Recorder,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.900399 Composed by Gustavo Fuentes. Arranged by Gustavo Fuentes. Celtic,Folk,Holiday,New Age,World. Score and parts. 3 pages. Gustavo Fuentes #3534751. Published by Gustavo Fuentes (A0.900399). The sweetness of Silence. Celtic music song composed by Gustavo Fuentes, arranged for three voices. Two melody instruments, such as tin whistle, flute, recorder or violin, and low voice like cello or bass, with chords for piano or guitar. The audio is from to the Gustavo Fuentes CD Almas en vuelo that you can listen to on Spotify.Lovers communicate in unique and diverse ways. They use words of love, loving glances and tender caresses to share in the joy of being together. But one of the most enjoyable things a couple can share is silence. Being silent, perhaps holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes, can communicate plenty. Merely knowing the other person is right there by your side with love, affection and understanding is one of the most gratifying feelings in the world. And that is what this song is about: love, lovers and shared silence.

Christian,Easter,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 1 pages. Stuart Brown Music #782621. Published by Stuart Brown Music (A0.1182872). The accompanying score and a choral bundle are also available from this website. The composer writes: 'On That Cross' is a powerful reflection on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. I came up with the lyrics at around 3am in the morning of 3rd December 2014 sitting at a desk in room 703 of the De Syloia Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam. Often I find that my periods of working abroad give me the space to think of things in new ways. This song is a good example of that. One look at the first page of the score of 'On That Cross' is all you need to realize that this is not a case of a choir singing with a piano accompaniment. I put the piano part above the choir in order to dispel that misconception. So if it's not that, what is it? I wanted to demonstrate that it is possible to approach a subject from two completely different points of view, without either point of view being compromised by the other, and yet the result can nevertheless be a beautiful synergy. That is what the pianist and the choir are doing here. Each is meditating upon the cross of Christ, but from two totally unrelated points of view and yet somehow combining in a way that is almost hypnotically beautifully. There is little obvious relationship between the choir's and the piano's music; and yet each is reconciled to the other ... and there's a very good reason why I wanted the music to speak of such reconciliation. In late 2014 people in Iraq were being beheaded, crucified and generally killed in the most brutal and sadistic manner possible. Their only ‘crime’ was to dare to call themselves Christians. You can say what you like but in my book nobody has the right to tell anybody else what they should believe, much less murder them on religious grounds. The thing that incensed me almost to the point of incandescence was that the perpetrators of this unspeakable evil dared to justify their actions by claiming that they were acting on behalf of their god. So in such frame of mind I started to write the lyrics to 'On That Cross'.The first words that came into my mind were “Oh men who dare to call on gods to justify your hatred – of this be sure …†and I wanted to follow that with threats of eternal damnation, torture in hellfire and so on. Except that the words that flowed out of my fingers onto my computer screen were not like that at all. “Of this be sure – I love you still, my cross your salvation from all the sin of man.â€It doesn’t get much more powerful than that. I may be incapable of loving the people of ISIS, ISIL, DAESH or whatever one calls them, but my God isn’t. He created them, he sent his Son to die for them … and he is even now ready to save them, as he is you and me. That’s grace.A small group of us sang this at a Good Friday united service in 2016. We sang it unannounced, at the end of the service, when one would have expected people to start getting up from their seats and leaving the church. Nobody did. Not one single person moved while we sang..

Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.551495 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Halloween,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and individual part. 61 pages. Jmsgu3 #5306289. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.551495). DESCRIPTION1. Morning Mood, 2. Ase's Death, 3. Anitra's Dance, 4. In the Hall of the Mountain KingGrieg BackgroundIn the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 â??1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and BedÅ?ich Smetana in Bohemia.LegacyGrieg is celebrated in the city of Bergen. For example, the city has erected numerous statues depicting Grieg. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. As a matter of fact, there is also a museum located at his former home in Troldhaugen.Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (Op. 46)Grieg wrote incidental music for the purpose of illustrating a play by Ibsen known as Peer Gynt. In the end, Peer surprisingly escapes from the mountain.Holberg Suite and Misc. SummaryIt must be remembered that Grieg originally wrote his Holberg Suite for the piano. In other words, he only later arranged it for strings. Further, Grieg composed by and large many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Griegâ??s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.

On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.Register for free lifetime revisions and updates at www.jamesguthrie.com

Instrumental Solo,Oboe d'Amore,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549539 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and individual part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3505889. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549539). Duration: ca. 3:40, Score: 5 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Super-famous instantly recognizable tune, not very difficult - suitable for a recital, funeral or church meditation. Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. The Trombonist's Toolkit Method book
Bass Trombone,Tenor Trombone,Trombone Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.810966
(+)
Bass Trombone,Tenor Trombone,Trombone Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.810966 Composed by Brink, Philip. Instructional,Standards. Individual part. 134 pages. Gordon Cherry #4286489. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.810966). Philip Brink has spent his entire career building the knowledge to assemble this major book on the pedagogy of the Trombone. Below are his words to describe what the book entails. Trombonist’s Toolkit was conceived as exactly that: a resource for troubleshooting one’s playing, for working out problems, for advancing one’s playing skills. It is NOT a method in the traditional sense – no weekly lessons, no planned schedule for arriving at a certain point after a year, two years, etc. The player [you, the reader] can search the topic list for specific problems in need of solution. Most of the topics are organized by general subject areas: air, embouchure, range building, etc. The source for most of what I write is my own personal experience as student, teacher, freelancer and orchestral performer. I owe a great debt of gratitude to teachers, mentors, colleagues and students past and present, for listening to my playing, trying out my concepts, putting up with my questions and so forth. Some of those people are present, some are far away, and sadly, some are no longer living. To all of them I say Thank you, and I hope those of you who read this can recognize what you told me! A word about the organization of the book: most of the concepts requiring practice and/or a physical approach are written out in a special manner; explanatory text is interspersed with exercises detailing a gradual approach to the topic at hand. The appendix contains a number of exercises all together, most of which were developed for my class at Mahidol University College of Music in Thailand. Philip Brink - 2019

Accordion,Double Bass,Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1068894 Composed by Lars Ek…

Accordion,Double Bass,Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1068894 Composed by Lars Ek. Folk,World. Full Performance. Duration 225. Lars Ek Cosmos Music c/o Musik & Underhållningsskrädderiet AB #1921499. Published by Lars Ek Cosmos Music c/o Musik & Underhållningsskrädderiet AB (A0.1068894). Something quite astonishing has happened in the Swedish accordion world during the last couple of years, we´ve got a new idol. It´s astonishing in two different ways: for us who know the accordion world it´s a fact that Lars Ek has been around as a professional accordionist for almost 20 years, since he finished school, second: he has become an idol playing music and in a style that has it´s roots 50 years back in the accordion music history. One could say that Lars Ek, today 35 years old, should have been 85, active in the 30´s. Himself, he confess that he feels kind of secret longing back to a time when accordionists were equilibrists, when accordionists played in a brilliant way, the golden age it was for all accordion music all over the world, an age that we will never meet again. It´s a type of music which is historical but not belonging to the museums, not dead, it´s a typical of music filled with life. Very much so thanks to Lars Ek. It´s a quite notable situation. Lars Ek has been playing the accordion for a long time, he has been playing all types of music that can be played on an accordion. Just some few years ago he met, via phonograph records, the music of Nils Lind and Ragge Sundquist (two legendary Swedish performers from the 30´s and the 40´s, both dead since long ago - they both founded a school and a style) and, of course, also Frosini. And then, finally, Lars Ek felt that it was exactly here, in this style where he belonged. Lars Ek finally came home. Some sloppy listeners say that Lars Ek is copying the music of Nils Lind. Those are listeners who don´t listen. Others say that Lars is a maniac - he plays on an accordion of the Raggie Sundquist brand from 1937 and since a couple of years he also owns and plays an accordion once owned by Pietro Frosini, manufactured in 1927. That´s not mania. The style asks for such instruments. It´s most correct that way. Lars Ek has become incredibly popular. There are many reasons. He has lots of personality, he is a stage personality, he shows enthusiasm and joy while performing, he knows how to attract an audience (and the girls say he´s very handsome). One other reason is that the music Lars performs finds lots of response from the audience. And, please, don´t think it´s only those old ones who were around in the 30´s who love the music - so do even the young ones! Lars Ek x 2 is the name of the record. The explanation is simple. Lars wasn´t able to find a second accordionist to assist him. So, thanks to the technique he is his own second accordionist himself in five of the tunes performed. There is one more explanation. Lars performs melodies linked to the names of Nils Lind, Ragge Sundquist and Frosini, but he also plays five compositions of hes own. Just to show how he wants accordion music to be composed. Lars Ek does not need any recommendation, his records sell anyway. But you´re going to get some final words. This records is, regarding style, very rare to be recorded in 1982, it´s a matter of looking back and to do so with lots of skill, a look back that golden age of the accordion. It´s also a very personal record. The inspiration may very well be Nils Lind, Ragge Sundquist and Pietro Frosini. But it´s Lars Ek who plays. In his personal way. Which means that this is a record played in a very personal way.
