Published in 1903, The Favorite is subtitled “A Ragtime Two-Stepâ€, which suggests a slower tempo to fit the two-step dance. This arrangement of The Favorite is arranged as a duet for two Violins. Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. A Piano Accompaniment track is available.Valse Sentimentale is in ternary form, in 3/4 time and romantic in natureThe first section is a gentle waltz in G minor minor and the second section by contrast is in E flat major and takes on a barcarolle like quality but remaining in 3/4 not the traditional 6/8. It returns to section one again and the coda brings back a short reminder of the barcarolle theme in G major to finish.The range of the violins are around two octaves with the top note- top E flat appearing once. Bowing is excluded and left to the performer.Each part is equally divided to avoid the 1st violin and 2nd definition. I have set it to intermediate level but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess. It would work well for a variety of occasions.It is around 5 mins 50 in length.Price is for the full score and parts.Flute duet, Clarinet duet, Oboe Duet, Alto Sax Duet and Solo Piano versions are also available

It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a duet for two Violins.It’s Been a Long Long Time is best known to modern audiences as the song at the end Avengers: Endgame, where Steve Rogers, after seventy years, finally gets to dance with Peggy Carter. The song of course, is much older. Two versions of It’s Been a Long Long Time topped the charts in late 1945, and as US servicemen returned from Europe and the Pacific, it perfectly caught the mood of the times. One version was by Bing Crosby, and the other by the Harry James Orchestra featuring Kitty Kallen on vocals. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both parts enjoying plenty of melodic interest. The overall performance time is just over two and a half minutes. Joe Procopio AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BEETHOVEN DUETS By Joe Procopio Because of the complexities, range and sonorities inherent in all of the Beethoven Symphonies, it may seem impossible to transcribe any one movement as a duet that is true to the composer. Nevertheless, I believe these duets contain the heart, soul and essence of Beethoven’s melodies, rhythms and expressions; even though these works are tiny when they are compared to the Master’s great musical creations which have no equal. In fact, there is no comparison. However, my sincere hope is that since I have rendered some of Beethoven’s music as duets, his music is now more readily available to all permitting a greater number of musicians and all the people who hear their performances to come to know and love a bit of the world’s most valuable, breathtaking and beautiful music. In truth, Beethoven’s music has stood the test of time. He astonished people in his day whenever he performed his music or had his music played. He still does today. To be sure, his music has enhanced and enriched the lives of many of us for over 200 years. In performing and listening to these Scherzi you will find the whole of each work a marvel of Beethoven’s skill with sections reaching the sublime. Few composers have been able to write down on paper music of such incredible beauty that it reflects the awesome splendor of God’s creation. Joplin lived for a while in Sedalia, Missouri and the Maple Leaf Club in that town is thought to have provided the name for this composition. It provided Joplin with a steady income for the rest of his life, and while he requested that it be played at his funeral, his wife refused as she felt it inappropriate. It was the first track on Joshua Rifkin’s famous 1970 revival recording of Joplin’s music and, never waning in popularity, it has featured in hundreds of films.This version for Violin Duet includes all four sections of the original composition. The tempo in recorded versions varies widely between 72 and 126, so the marking of 92 is a suggestion only. At the time, French art culture was fashionable, and Paul McCartney used to pretend he was French despite no knowledge of the language. Later John Lennon suggested Paul should write a song recalling those times. Paul asked a friend’s wife, who happened to be a French teacher, for help with the French lyrics.This version of Michelle is arranged as a duet for two Violins. It is in Concert D minor and Ternary form, I have set it at early intermediate as the Violin range is around 2 octaves and a dotted crotchet quaver is the most complicated rhythm. I have left the bowing to the performer.The youtube link has the full score for you to assess suitability.It is around 4 minutes in length and very suitable for a number of situations.Price is full score and parts Flute and Clarinet versions are available.

Øب aims to capture the melody and spirit of this timeless music.Øب is written for players at an advanced intermediate standard and upwards.
