Improvisation On Tchaikovsky`s Cherubic Hymn

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889429 Composed by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Christmas,Concert,Contemporary,Easter,Standards. Score and parts. 17 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #4727333. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889429). „Improvisation On Tchaikovsky`s Cherubic Hymn. It is an original Harp improvisation to be accompanied by an adaptation for strings inspired by Tchaikovsky`s choir piece „Cherubic Hymn. The harmonic structure of Tchaikowky`s original work has been faithfully reproduced, so all credits for this piece goes to him. Rather than an arrangement, the outcome of this adventurous experience resulted in an improvisation for the Harp. With the added melodies on the Harp and the stringed instrumental caracter of the orquestral adaptation, the piece gains a stronger tone contrast, keeping at the same time its deep spiritual beauty, thus bringing it to a wider range of public and performance choices. it is very easy to perform, yet it moves deeply both performer and public. The piece is appropriate for beginner students. It can be used in serious concerts and all kinds of cultural events. It is a very Spiritual piece, it induces a wonderful mood in Baptism or Christmas celebrations. One can get married to it. The piece is also appropriate to honor someone in a funeral. Although this score was composed in full intent to be performed as written, the Harp part can be played by itself and the orquestral arrangement from the Hymn can also be performed without the Harp. This score was conceived so that without adaptations, the Harp the orchestra and the original Choir could perform at the same time. Or intercalated „Ad Lieb, the Harp with the choir, or the orquestra with the choir. Instead of a full string orquestra one can also use just a string quartet and a doublebass. A Little Historical Note. „The Cherubic Hymn is part of the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom written in the fourth century by the Byzantine saint, honored as such by both Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches. In the context of the liturgy, the hymn is sung during the most mystical and spiritual part of the service as a prelude to the transubstantiation of bread and wine into the real presence of Our Lord. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the inspiring Master and genial composer with whom I had the happy causality to write this improvisation or „collab was born in; 25 April/7 May 1840 – 25 October/6 November 1893, was a Russian composer of the late Romantic period, he created an outstanding number of unique musical masterpieces. Tchaikovsky was honored in 1884, by Emperor Alexander III, and awarded a lifetime pension. Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love the wonderful painting and cover design, this work is dedicated to her. Special Thanks to Tchaikovsky, Nina and Stray Queen Mimi, Carlinhos, Maria Pontinha, Maria Joaninha, Schwarzenegger, Maria Koboldinha. For all Living beings on Earth, for all our Ancestors, Thank You for all of You All Your Love and Compassion. Love Forever. Disclaimer: The score was written on Finale and the sound file was produced with Garritan instruments. Thank You very much that You toke Your Time to read this text and to listen the file. I hope You enjoy it, Sheers…

My Mother had some sad news to give me. Dad was very ill. My whole life flashed before me. My parents were always 200% supportive of all my artistic endeavors. None of my success would have been possible but for my Dad and Mom. My memories of my Dad and my Mom flooded my mind like a deluge. When I heard the news about how gravely ill he was I thought to myself that so often we give thanks, honor, or show our love when it is too late. Who wants to be that person? I was finally in the unique position to show my gratitude and love to my parents in the most special way that I could - through music from my heart and soul. I got the courage to look deeply within and then I began to write what was to become the first and second songs, respectively Tears from My Eyes: Remember Your Feelings and Tears from My Eyes: Reflection and Contemplation on my Tears from My Eyes: Songs from my Soul album. You will now be able to do just the same for your loved ones with this new music. Your intermediate level to advanced students and even professional musicians should find this to be a welcomed piece to learn and master. It looks deceptively simple but the learning and challenge comes from two smaller sub-ensembles playing together in their own collective units legato con moto while playing together as a whole music ensemble Everyone will enjoy and bathe in the beautiful harmonies that will resonate when the entire music ensemble begins to listen to each while playing together as a group. Your musicians will hone their skills in playing together with just the right balance that this song requires. Your musicians will also hone their skills for subdividing and maintaining an inner beat that is in sync with your conducting because there is no percussion and the notes are freely flowing on and off the down beat yet not sounding heavily syncopated when performed. When will you know when you have achieved the right balance and flow of the music? You will know when, because you will hear it and feel it when it comes into place. But I can help you with all of this with what I have to offer you today. I share with you now the final and 5th movement to Tears from my Eyes - Onward and Upward (for String Orchestra). This particular was created and produced after the Songs from My Soul album was sent for distribution. So, this song has yet to be officially released. All five movements will be released as an album Mourning in the Rain. This 5th movement Onward and Upward has a decisive emotional resolution and conviction in its pathos. The dynamics reflect accordingly ranging from mf to fff indicative of overcoming adversity and grief. Imagine overcoming despair, rising out of grief and depression and finally seeing the light of day - to join the ranks of the living and re-embracing life once again.Contact info: Tito AbeledaVisionary Quest Recordshttps://www.visionaryquestrecordsEmail: tito@visionaryquestrecords.comFollow Tito on Social Media:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/titoabeledaTwitter:

Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.861927). The American Seasons (score – violin and string orchestra) MO148AScore (parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor99 pages - 38:00 minutes in length The American Seasons(Seasons Of An American Life)The American Seasons (Seasons Of An American Life) is a concerto for Violin And Chamber Orchestra. Composed in 1999, the music celebrates the various stages of an American life at the waking of the 21st century. Constructed in four movements and representing four stages of life, birth, adolescence, maturity and old age, the music also pays homage to Shakespeare's Seasons Of Man His acts being seven ages, incorporated throughout the work.Spring introduces the ideas of birth and infancy. After the principal theme has been stated, there is a violin cadenza encountering all twelve major keys and a 13/8 time signature representing the ancient golden ratio. These elements recall birth with all the possibilities a new life offers. Ending the movement, the principal theme is repeated with more complexity... as if posing life's questions.Summer represents the excitement and bravado of youthful adolescence and young adulthood. For the style of this movement I use a happy-go-lucky Blues voice which melds into Swing. I identify swing rhythm in all of 20th century American music culture as a common thread that runs through Ragtime through Rock and Roll on to Rap. Swing means testing the waters and pushing the envelope for lovers and soldiers.Fall is the slow movement symbolizing the wisdom of maturity. It is a peaceful theme with nostalgic strokes. It is a time for sincere reflection and enjoying ones accomplishments in life.Winter embodies the complexities and knowledge of an older person and that of a dying person. The movement begins with the principal them from Spring, but with a dissonance that emanates from a lifetime full of emotions and responsibilities. In the middle of the movement is a transition to an old world. I use my personal ancestry from Ireland as a foundation from which to rediscover one's lineage and explore the meaning and value of a cultural legacy. The exploration evolves into a four- and five-part fugue with a reel, jig, air, countered bass and the motif from the principal theme. All these elements, dances and melodies appear simultaneously and converge to form a unique insight to life's consequences from a historical perspective. Following the fugue, the principal theme finds its way back in. It sounds much as it did at birth. In the end, the solo violin cadenza carries the last earthly breaths before the violin and orchestra once again join in harmony to focus on a new life being transformed somewhere else. Life's four seasons in perpetuity. String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742492 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Baroque,Concert,Standards,World. Score and parts. 57 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #5041947. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742492). Around the year 1726, John Walsh, a London music publisher, created a wonderful forgery in order to run around the copyright laws of the day: he pretended to pirate an edition supposedly published by the House of Roger in Amsterdam. This forgery included 12 Sonatas for solo instrument and continuo which had been composed by one George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). Around 1793 the House of Arnold published the same set, omitting two of the original 12 and replacing them with two others by Handel. So at this point there were a total of 14 solo sonatas available to the public. In the year 1879 Friedrich Chrysander issued these 14 works and several others in volume 27 of the German Handel Society’s Gesamtausgabe of Handel’s works. Since then they have been edited from this scholarly work many times, and afflicted by all sorts of permutations which reflect the various styles of performance in vogue over the years. One finds editions stripped of ornamentation but loaded with articulation and dynamic markings at one end of the spectrum, and editions with modest stenographic and florid ornamentation at the other. The Sonata in C Minor (London: 1712) is a pure example of the middle phase of the solo sonata da chiesa [church sonata]. The first three movements are indicative of the style found in sonatas derived from the disruptive canzona of the early 17th century. An initial slow movement with walking bass is followed by an imitative movement (in this case, a fugue with a chromatic subject), which in turn leads to an Adagio. This latter movement in the relative major is a ricercare containing several imitative entrances. The finale is a spirited binary-form Bourrée angloise, an item taken over from the French ordre or dance suite. The extraordinarily short length of this movement seems to indicate that a trio is missing here; therefore, I have added the bourrée from the Royal Fireworks Music of 1749 to act as a trio, but players are certainly free to omit it. Adding a series of variations based on the chord changes of the Bourrée angloise would be an alternative way to lend weight to this final movement.Taken from https://www.idrs.org/scores/Lehrer/DRArch/69HandelSonataCm.html

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1202559 Composed by W. A. Mozart (1756 – 1791). Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Classical,Contest,Festival,Standards. Score and parts. 125 pages. Jmsgu3 #800938. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1202559). Sonata No. 6, “Durnitz†for String OrchestraScore and performance parts:  Score: 66 pages. Duration: ca. 29:28 Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284, also known as the Durnitz Sonata, is a solo piano piece composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1775. It is one of Mozart's more complex and ambitious sonatas and is generally regarded as one of his greatest works for the instrument. The sonata is divided into three movements:1.   Allegro - The first movement is a fast-paced and energetic sonata-allegro form, characterized by its lively theme and virtuosic passages. The movement begins with a bold and dramatic opening statement, followed by a series of contrasting themes and variations. The development section explores new harmonic and rhythmic territory, while the recapitulation brings the movement full circle with a restatement of the main themes.2.   Rondeau en Polonaise - The second movement is a graceful and elegant rondo in the style of a polonaise, a popular dance of the time. The main theme is a lilting melody that is first presented by the right hand and then repeated with variations throughout the movement. The middle section features a contrasting theme in a minor key, which is then developed and expanded upon in the latter half of the movement.3.   Theme and Variations - The final movement is a set of six variations on a theme, which is introduced at the beginning of the movement. Each variation explores a different aspect of the theme, from playful embellishments to dramatic flourishes. The final variation brings the piece to a rousing and triumphant close.Overall, Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284, is a masterful example of the composer's virtuosity and innovation and remains a beloved and influential work in the piano repertoire. Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284 is also known as the Dürnitz Sonata because it is believed to have been composed for Count Johann Joseph Anton von Dürnitz, an accomplished amateur flautist who was a patron of Mozart.Mozart was in Munich in 1775, and he met Dürnitz there. According to Mozart's letters to his father, Dürnitz played the flute very well, and Mozart was impressed by his abilities. It is believed that Mozart composed this sonata specifically for Dürnitz, who may have performed it with Mozart accompanying him on the piano. No concrete evidence supports the theory that the sonata was named after Dürnitz, but it is widely accepted as the most likely explanation for the nickname. In any case, the sonata remains one of Mozart's most popular and beloved works for solo piano.

Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 44 pages. Regis Bookshar #714847. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1112894). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - String Orchestra - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a String Orchestra, consisting of 3 Violins, 2 Violas, 2 Violoncellos and 1 Double Bass, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (44 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a String Orchestra, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533701). Concerto for Portatif Organ and Strings (2006) was commissioned by the Harvard Baroque Chamber Orchestra and its director, Robert Mealy. The work is dedicated to organist Nancy Granert, for whom the solo part was written. The work was commissioned in celebration of the von Clemm Chamber Organ at The Memorial Church, Harvard University, built in 2006 by Klop Organ Builders. As with many of my works, relationships between old and new musical concepts are explored. In this piece, musical aspects of the Baroque organ concerto tradition (and Baroque style string playing) co-exist with more contemporary musical elements. In particular, the directness of expression found in many Baroque concertante works is present throughout. Musical material is shared between the movements in a motivic fashion. The title of the first movement, Bricolage, is defined as “something made or put together using whatever materials happen to be available.†Thus, the musical material for the movement is of varying characters; these elements are assembled together in ways that allow them to comment on and inform each other. Some of these musical elements include: a traditional “overture†texture, a Basse de Trompette texture (with an organ reed stop in the left hand) common in French Baroque organ music, and the French keyboard toccata style. The second movement, Elegia, is dark and searching in tone. It begins with a rageful roar before quieting down to introduce its basic musical material – a simple “lament†theme in a folk-inflected style. This material is used for further explorations, building to passionate climaxes. Finally, the opening music returns, but this time with a whisper. The movement winds down to a sad conclusion. After the soul-searching of the second movement, the third movement, Rondeau, is sprightly and energetic. The basic material is a set of Baroque and Classical-style figurations (with a few American gospel inflections thrown in), firmly grounded in G major. After minor diversions, the original material continues to return and ends the work with unfettered joy.

Published by Saturn Strings (A0.527308). This little suite for beginner string orchestra aims to put into practice as many of the different technical aspects of the ABRSM Grade 1 exam as possible, whilst remaining a fun piece to play! The cheerful first movement is in D major. There is some use of open string double stops and a chance for the 2nd violins to show off their left hand pizzicato, whilst the legato cello melody in the middle section explores the 1234 chromatic finger pattern. The short second movement, which is really no more than a brief interlude, is in A major, and provides the opportunity to focus on controlling slurs and legato bowing. 4th fingers instead of open Es in the 1st violins are desirable but not compulsory! Finally, the third Latin-inspired movement is a syncopation-filled exploration of the E minor natural scale. If you have some percussion instruments at hand please feel free to get creative and add them in wherever you like! The piece can be played without double basses, but if there are none it might be an idea for one desk of cellos to cover the bass part in the first movement middle section. 3rd violins are only necessary if there are no violas, or if violas need an extra boost!

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1209097 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827). Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. 19th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Traditional. Score and Parts. 19 pages. Jmsgu3 #807198. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1209097). 5. Allegro ma non troppo.Beethoven's Bagatelles Op. 33 are pretty typical of his early style, retaining many compositional features of the early Classical period.  The first bagatelle is arguably one of Beethoven's most well-known pieces. While they may seem light-hearted and not to be taken too seriously, they are still well-crafted works that embody the younger Beethoven's style. The Bagatelles Op. 33 were composed by Beethoven in 1801-02 and published in 1803. Bagatelles are shorter and less complex than sonatas, often consisting of a single movement. They were intended to be played as light entertainment or as encores at the end of a concert.Bagatelle No. 5 of Beethoven's Op. 33 is a short piece that showcases the composer's mastery of melody and harmony. The piece is in the key of C major and is written in a simple ternary form, with a lively and playful opening theme that is followed by a contrasting middle section in the homotonic key of C minor. The opening theme is characterized by its use of syncopation, which give it a lively and energetic feel. The middle section, on the other hand, is more introspective and lyrical, with a more subdued and melancholic mood. The piece ends with a return to the opening theme, which is now played in a surprising and forceful manner. Overall, Bagatelle No. 5 is a charming and delightful piece that showcases Beethoven's skill in creating memorable melodies and harmonies within a concise and compact form.

Londonderry Air arranged for String Orchestra.<br> <br> A big band version of the song is used as the theme for The Danny Thomas Show (a.k.a. Make Room For Daddy).<br> <br> "Danny Boy" was used to represent Northern Ireland at the start of the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, sung by a choir of children on the Giant’s Causeway.<br> <br> On November 25, 2014, the Vancouver Canucks used the song in honor of the recently deceased Pat Quinn, who played and worked in many executive capacities for the team.<br> <br> There are various theories as to the true meaning of "Danny Boy". Some listeners have interpreted the song to be a message from a parent to a son going off to war or leaving as part of the Irish diaspora.<br> <br> The 1918 version of the sheet music included alternative lyrics ("Eily Dear"), with the instructions that "when sung by a man, the words in italic should be used; the song then becomes "Eily Dear", so that "Danny Boy" is only to be sung by a lady". In spite of this, it is unclear whether this was Weatherly’s intent.<br> <br> Why the name Londonderry Air? Londonderry and Derry refer to the same place, a city in the north of Ireland, and also to the surrounding county. Supposedly the city of Derry was founded by St. Colmcille, although archaeological evidence shows that people were living there thousands of years earlier. There is an excellent museum in the city, which is worth a visit if you want to find out more. The name of the city was actually "Doire", corrupted to "Derry" by people who can’t pronounce Irish. It thought to derive from an Irish root meaning "oak tree".<br> <br> Moving quickly along in history, about a millenium later the government of England was having a difficult time colonizing Ireland because of the fierce and warlike clans living there, especially in the north of the country, Ulster. The monarchs of England, almost all of whom were notorious cheapskates, were continually looking about for ingenious ways to conquer places without actually having to put up the money themselves, or run the risk of unpopularity if they lost. In the case of Ireland, some of these schemes of the "Brish gummit" (as it is termed nowadays in Ulster) are still producing unfortunate long-term consequences.<br> <br> In 1608, King James I gave the city of Derry to the City of London corporation. I guess the deal could be summed up by saying that if the City of London could figure out a way to chase all the inhabitants out of Derry, they would be allowed to keep the loot, minus a percentage for the King of course. If they lost, well too bad. In celebration of this historic agreement, the name of Derry was officially changed to Londonderry. (For further information, check out the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s History of Derry.)<br> <br> The linguistic outcome of all this today is that, if you think that King James’s deal with the City of London was a good idea, you call both the city and county "Londonderry". If you do, you are probably a supporter of the Unionist movement that seeks to keep Ulster a part of the United Kingdom. If you think it was a bad idea, you call both "Derry", and you are probably a supporter of the Irish Nationalist cause. Or you might just be someone who thinks it’s confusing for kings to be going around changing the names of places all the time for no good reason.<br> <br> You can find plenty of discussion about the political side of the question elsewhere, but here let’s look at the musical side. We have an air, collected in county Derry/Londonderry, and it doesn’t have a title. What do we call it?<br> <br> If you were a proper Victorian, there’s no way you were going to call it the Londonderry Air, much less the Derry Air, because of the improper sentiments that these titles might suggest. My parents tell me that in their youth in Australia, it was usually called the Air from County Derry. (This would, I suppose, support Winston Churchill’s theory that Australia was inhabited by "convicts and Irishmen".)<br> <br> My mother also sends the following information, referring to an arrangement of the tune by the Australian composer Percy Grainger:<br> <br> Just another note about Danny Boy, that I grew up in Australia believing to be the Air from County Derry. We were looking through some LP’s last night (back to vinyl yet!) and found a Mercury Wing Classical Favorites stereo LP SRW18060, COUNTRY GARDENS and other favorites by Percy Grainger {played by} Eastman-Rochester Pops, Frederick Fennell, conducting. The cover notes included the following: "Irish Tune from County Derry was harmonised in memory of Irish childhood friends in Australia." Considered by many to be Grainger’s masterpiece of harmonization, the tune was collected many years ago by Miss Jane Ross of New Town, Limavady, Ireland. Grainger has set it for many instrumental combinations. So there’s another variant on the name for it. It doesn’t say who wrote the notes, but the bits in quotes for each of the works on the record are Grainger’s original comments.<br> <br> The references to Londonderry Air that I’ve seen don’t go back any earlier than the late 1930s. For example, the Glenn Miller Orchestra recorded Danny Boy (Londonderry Air) in February 1940. Bing Crosby’s version was recorded in July 1941 (reference). (So many different things I could check up on!) Londonderry was an important American naval base during WWII, but the US hadn’t come into the war in 1940.<br> <br> Need an anthem fast?
