Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1117524 By Gloria Gaynor. By Harry Simeone, Henry Onorati, and Katherine K. Davis. Arranged by Stephen Jenkins. 19th Century,Christian,Christmas,Classical,Comedy. 39 pages. Edition BlechMafia #719069. Published by edition BlechMafia (A0.1117524). Weihnachtsboléro - Little Drummer Boy in the style of Ravel's Boléro After promising a friend to undertake that task of combining Little Drummer Boy with Ravel's Boléro I soon came across a small but rather significant problem: Boléro is in 3/4 whereas Little Drummer Boy is in 4/4. Thankfully, Little Drummer Boy works extremely well transformed into 6/8 and this produces a wonderful juxtaposition when combined with the virtually static 3/4 rhythm of Boléro. Boléro is a masterwork of skillful orchestration and enthralling harmony, which results in an incredible crescendo - which lasts for a quarter of an hour! My aim was to achieve this same effect, however in a much shorter time frame! Essentially, this arrangement is based on the structure of Boléro, using elements of Ravel’s harmonic and orchestrational ideas. The importance of the second, contrasting melody is not forgotten, with the famous trombone solo combined with fragments of Jingle Bells and ... voilà ! This arrangement is most effective with a snare drum, but it works well without. Duration ca 5:00 Alternative transpositions are provided: Trumpet 1 in D (recommended), Bb and C Trumpet 2 in Bb and C Horn in F / alt. Flugelhorn in Bb Trombone in C (Bass Clef) and Bb (Treble Clef) For alternative transpositions or any other questions, contact me here: stephen@blechmafia.de.

Brass Quartet Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1289415 By Bill Chase. By Bill Chase, Jeff Moore, and Scott Boerma. Arranged by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary,Jazz,Rock. 34 pages. Jeff Tincher #880161. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.1289415). Here is a song that still thrills me to listen to. If you like screaming trumpets, this song is for you. In the original key from the LP Chase, this song is a fast, driving piece. I have a fond memory of this song and am sorry you can't experience this version anymore. I was working in a department store electronics dept the year Quadrophonic music came out. Quad was the precursor to Surround Sound. To stand in the middle of 4 speakers facing you and here the opening riffs of this song bounce from one speaker to the next is an experience that is hard to describe. There is a youTube video that has the Quad version posted. But it just isn't the same.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1110865 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 28 pages. Regis Bookshar #713160. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1110865). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Brass Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Brass Sextet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases, and also to give them the chance to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (28 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Brass Sextet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1110866 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 28 pages. Regis Bookshar #713161. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1110866). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Brass Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Brass Sextet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 2 French Horns, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Brass Octet, consisting of 3 Bb Trumpets, 2 French Horns, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (40 pages). So, in addition to this arrangement for a Brass Octet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1104138 Composed by H.W. Petrie. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. 19th Century,Children,Comedy,Pop,Wedding. 28 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #707372. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1104138).      Howard W. Petrie was a composer of popular music active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. One of his most popular songs was “I Don’t Want to Play in Your Yard,†published early in his career, 1894. The song underwent a revival in the mid-1950s when Peggy Lee recorded it. It also figured prominently in the popular 1981 film Reds. Lyrics are credited to Philip Wingate, and his first verse sets up the story. Two little girls were next-door neighbors and best of friends. One day, however, a quarrel arose and “hot tears were shared.†One announced, “You can’t play in our yard.†The reply of the other forms the familiar chorus: I don't want to play in your yard, I don't like you any more, You'll be sorry when you see me sliding down our cellar door, You can't holler down our rain-barrel, you can't climb our apple tree, I don't want to play in your yard, if you won't be good to me.      The second verse tells of the reconciliation. The two girls miss each other. They kiss and make up and remain friends “all thro’ life.†But “in sweet dreams of childhood†we still remember the controversy of the yard.      This version features the group's Trumpets somewhat taking the roles of the two little girls. It retains the F major key in which it was written, changes tempo four times (in addition to a few rallentando/a tempo instructions) and includes two short, rather simple cadenzas, one for each Trumpet. It starts (rather incongruously!) with the eight 4/4 measures of “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary†then transitions to ¾ for the remainder of the piece.      Trumpets predominate with melody and lead. However Horn and Trombone do occasionally come to the fore to provide introductions, call-and-response figures and recapitulations. Both Trumpets play a few notes above their staff—G# and A—but for the most part, all instruments perform within their normal playing range. Performance time is about three and a half minutes to perform.      Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes, 34 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box. Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1148567 Composed by Music by Richard Milburn. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Country,Folk,Historic,Traditional. 27 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #748729. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1148567). Listen to the Mocking Bird was first published in 1855. The melody originated with Richard Milburn, a Philadelphia African-American who has been described variously as a panhandling busker and as a musically inclined barber. A songwriter and publisher by the name of Septimus Winner heard Milburn's tune, arranged it, added words, put it into print and claimed credit for its creation under the pseudonym Alice Hawthorne. Supposedly, Winner sold the rights to the song for five dollars. Listen to the Mocking Bird grew to be one of the most popular songs of the mid-19th century, a real hit. Its sheet music, by one estimate, sold more than 20 million copies. It was sung and performed particularly often during the Civil War, and troops used its melody as a marching tune. It remains somewhat of a standard and has been recorded numerous times, especially as a favorite of bluegrass musicians. In the lyrics, the singer is remembering his loved one. She has passed away but he recalls their good life together. They particularly enjoyed the call of the mocking bird, which even now is singing o'er her grave. This arrangement opens in E-flat major with Trumpet 1 introducing the sweetly sad melody, I'm dreaming now of Hally. After the introduction, the tempo picks up to allegro and whirls along. It does slow down several times, and there are four one-measure deviations from the 4/4 time signature: one 6/4, two 2/4s and one 1/4. At measure 65, the key changes to B-flat major for the finale. Trumpets 1 and 2 each play one A-above-their-staff eighth note as their highest pitch; the rest of the music stays well within the normal playing range of the five instruments. Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes, 23 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. Good Morning Good Morning is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It was written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. Inspiration for the song came to Lennon from a television commercial for Kellogg's Corn Flakes.Another reference to contemporary television was the lyric It's time for tea and Meet the Wife, referring to the BBC sitcom. Lennon himself was critical of the track. It's a throwaway, a piece of garbage, I always thought, he once said. I always had the TV on very low in the background when I was writing, and it came over, and then I wrote the songThe song is played at 117 beats per minute, has an unusual rhythmic feel, and uses different time signatures. Beats are played in groups of 2, 3 and 4, and time signature changes frequently. Parts with 5/4 and 4/4 bars alternate, with 3/4 transitions. Most of the song uses simple time, where the beats are divided into two, but the middle eight sections use compound time, where the beats are divided into triplets.

Dubbed the last Beatles song, it appeared on a double A-side single, paired with a new stereo remix of the band's first single, Love Me Do (1962), with the two serving as bookends to the band's history. Now and Then is a psychedelic soft rock balladthat John Lennon wrote and recorded around 1977 as a solo home demo but left unfinished. After Lennon's death in 1980, the song was considered as a potential third Beatles reunion single for their 1995–1996 retrospective project The Beatles Anthology, following Free as a Bird and Real Love, both based on two other Lennon demos of the same names.Instead, it was shelved for nearly three decades, until it was completed by his surviving bandmates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, using overdubs and guitar tracks by George Harrison (who died in 2001) from the abandoned 1995 sessions.Arranged here for brass quartet, the trumpet takes most of the melody.

Sing Joyfully - William Byrd - Brass Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.William Byrd was the greatest British composer of the late Renaissance, and just maybe, the greatest British composer ever. He wrote a huge body of choral music, some of it profound and timeless. He also composed brilliant, virtuoso pieces and his motet-like anthem, Sing Joyfully, a polyphonic setting of Psalm 81, written in 1590, is perhaps his best-known one. It is enchanting to listen to and is fun to sing. Regis Bookshar thought that instrumental performers should have the same opportunity that singers have experienced for years, so he has now transcribed, edited and arranged this wonderful composition for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles, including this one for a Brass Sextet, consisting of 3 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba.Since no tempo is indicated and there are no written dynamic or phrase markings in William Byrd's original score, Regis Bookshar has taken the liberty to add them in order to provide direction and life to the piece. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students, and perhaps even some younger students. It is perfect for concerts, recitals and church services, but could be performed for any occasion. The Sound of Silence is a song by American folk rock duo Simon and Garfunkel, written by Paul Simon. A first version of the song was released in 1964 on the album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., it is an acoustic version. But their producer recorded an electric version without their knowledge the following year, it was part of the eponymous album published in 1966. The song then enjoyed immense success. Here is an arrangement for Brass Quartet (Trumpet, Horn, Trombone and Tuba – Bass in Bb in B.C. or T.C. also available) of this timeless song. The Sound of Silence est une chanson du duo de folk rock américain Simon and Garfunkel, écrite par Paul Simon.
