Valse Sentimentale is in ternary form, in 3/4 time and romantic in nature The first section is a gentle waltz in concert B flat minor minor and the second section by contrast is in G flat major and takes on a barcarolle like quality but remaining in 3/4 not the traditional 6/8. It returns to section one again and the coda brings back a short reminder of the barcarolle theme in B flat major to finish. The range of the Saxes are around two octaves- Each part is equally divided to avoid the 1st Sax and 2nd definition. I have set it to intermediate level. It would work well for a variety of occasions. The full score is on the you tube link for you to assess suitability. It is around 5 mins 50 in length. Price is for the full score and parts. Flute duet, Violin duet, Clarinet duet, Oboe duet and Solo Piano versions are also available.

Grá, (Irish for Love), is a beautiful original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for two Alto Saxophones.
This duet is inspired by the Irish sean-nós style of singing. Originally sung unaccompanied in the Irish Gaelic language, in more recent times the melodies have been adapted as instrumentals, harmonised and given accompaniment. The songs are most often about love and loss and Grá aims to capture this melancholy mood.
Grá is written for players at an intermediate standard and upwards. Expressive throughout, the first part of the melody is played above a drone. Simple accompaniment then builds towards a climax before the melody slips away like a distant echo. Players can add their own appropriate ornaments and variations to the melody if they wish. This duet is inspired by the French Chanson style associated with café life in Paris and beyond. This music has its roots in La Belle Epoque and was popularized by singers such as Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour. Long associated with romance, L’Amour is just what’s needed when love is in the air.
L’Amour is written for players at an intermediate standard and upwards. The melody should always flow; following the articulation in the score and adding plenty of expression will help convey the style. L’Amour has a performance time of around three minutes.
