Kevin G. Pace #860411. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1267863). A bold, dramatic choral composition depicting the miracle of Jesus walking on the sea.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.Text:Drained of strength and in despair, disciples rowed all nightIn a storm upon the sea, the Sea of Galilee.Clashing, crashing inverse winds in darkness without lightBrought the Savior from the mount, from the very heights.Frightened when they saw Him come, perceiving not his form,Jesus said, “O, it is I.†The boisterous waves were high.Peering, nearing as He walked right through the raging storm,Jesus said, “Be not afraid,†though nature then was torn.Treading on the water’s edge and almost dawn that morn,Jesus calmed the troubled men; his strength not at an end.Talking, walking to the boat, disciples still forlorn,Powers of divinity were seen as newly born.“Of a truth thou art the Son,†the very Son who showsMiracles engulf each heart when faith becomes a part.“Of a truth thou art the Son,†reveals a witness grown.Walking on the sea became pure testimony known.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.779348 Composed by John Stafford Smith. Arranged by Shelton Ridge Love. Folk,Holiday,Patriotic. Octavo. 14 pages. Shelton Ridge Love #3096887. Published by Shelton Ridge Love (A0.779348). Arranged for SATB choir with piano duet (one piano, four hand) accompaniment, this majestic arrangement of The Star-Spangled Banner is perfect for every American patriotic concert or celebration. After a fanfare opening, the audience is invited to participate in the pledge to the flag and the first stanza. The choir then sings the lesser-known second stanza, concluding with a triumphant coda.At this time, the companion recording includes only digitized voices, so the lyrics for the entire arrangement are included below. (Lyrics by Francis Scott Key)America! America!God shed his grace on thee!O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.O say, does that star-spangled banner yet waveO'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?O thus be it ever when free men shall standBetween their loved homes and the war's desolation!Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the head'n-rescued landPraise the pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation! Then conquer we must when our cause it is just,And this be our motto: In God is our trust! And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall waveO'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!Ah! America!

Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1388554). Program Notes: The fact that the text for this work even exists is a miracle. It was written by Abraham (Abramek) Koplowicz, a Jewish boy who was exterminated by the Nazis during the Holocaust. Abramek was born in 1930 in Lodz, Poland, and died 1944 in that country's infamous concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau. He wrote this poem during the time that his family was trapped in the Lodz ghetto. This poem was not found until 1983 when Eliezer (Lolek) Grynfeld, the poet's half-brother, discovered it among their late father's belongings. Choristers who sing this work will be transported on a magical flight around the world through time and space along with their audiences. —A Dream (Marzenie)When I am twenty years of age,I will burst forth from this cageAnd begin to see our splendid EarthFor the first time since my birth! In my motorized bird I’ll soar so highAbove the world, up in the sky,Over rivers and the seas, With such stupefying ease,With my brother wind and sister cloud, I’llMarvel at the Euphrates and the Nile; The goddess Isis ruled the land that linksThe Pyramids and the massive Sphynx.I will glide above Niagara Falls,And sunbathe where the Sahara calls; If I want to escape the scorching heat,I will fly up north to an Arctic retreat.I will top the cloudy peaks of Tibetan fameAnd survey the fabled land whence the Magi came. From the Island of KangaroosI’ll take my time and cruiseTo the ruins of Pompeii      At the edge of Naples Bay,I’ll continue to the Holy Land, then seekThe home of Homer, the celebrated Greek.More and more astonished will I growAt the beauty of the Earth below. In all my travelling I’ll be twinnedWith my siblings, cloud and wind.—Abraham (“Abramekâ€) Koplowicz (b. 1930, Lodz, Poland, d. 1944, Auschwitz-Birkenau)Translation by Sarah Lawson and MaÅ‚gorzata Koraszewska© Copyright 1993 by Eliezer Grynfeld. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1018115). A sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mark R. Fotheringham. Text: Tread the strait and narrow path, though the goal seems far from sight. Walk with knowledge through the day; walk with faith throughout the night. Confidently take each step. You're marching for the right. When following our Savoir Lord, you're walking in the light. Step by step we make our way, knowing we are never lost Jesus Christ has paid our toll, counting it but little cost. Travel through the heat of day, or struggle on through frost. Our Lord will be there by your side through calm or tempest tossed. When the path is strewn with stones, obstacles hedge up the way, Hold a true course if you can. Wander not nor go astray. Bid the saints to render aid, support you in the fray. One day you'll walk back unto God to rest and ever stay.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008087 Composed by Connie Pwll Walck Tyler. Christian,Contemporary,Jewish,Sacred. Octavo. 48 pages. Connie Tyler #4765403. Published by Connie Tyler (A0.1008087). What is Wisdom? In Proverbs 8:5-11 she says,Learn prudence, acquire intelligence, …take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold, for Wisdom is better than jewels. This suite of three songs is appropriate for use in a Christian or Jewish religious service or a secular concert. It includes a short audience participation possibility at the end of the last song. All are written for flute, piano, ethnic drum, SATB plus a high soprano part that can be a soloist. The drum part is written out, but could be improvised. The first song, Hear My Call, is short (1:49) and could be used as a call to worship in a religious service. The second song, God Created Me, (4:36) is an anthem of praise using the wonderful words of the creation of Wisdom in Proverbs 8:22-36 with a descant of the creation story in the book of Ben Sira 24:3, found in the Apocrypha. The tenors and basses sing the comparison of Wisdom with the trees of Israel, also found in Ben Sira, all in praise of Wisdom. The third song, Choose Life, (1:16) includes a chant that can be sung by the congregation or audience along with the choir. This could be used as the final hymn in a religious service. All three songs can be used separately or together. At the end of the score you will find a copy of the congregational chant which can be copied and placed in an Order of Service or Program. Purchase includes the right to make eight photocopies. For additional copies please purchase another score from sheetmusicplus.com. The recording is electronically produced and therefore has choral oohs without words. All three songs are on the recording, and at the end there is a flute rendering of the chant.. This is not intended to stand alone, but to be sung, as directed, with the last part of the choir song, Choose Life.

Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1472849 Composed by Todd Marchand. Christian,Sacred. 5 pages. Con Spirito Music #1050479. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1472849). “That We May Give Ourselves” is a short anthem based on a traditional collect — a prayer comprising an invocation, petition, and conclusion — that appears in various Anglican prayer books. The invocation, “Eternal God and Father, by whose power we are created and by whose love we are redeemed” acknowledges the eternity, creative power, and redeeming love of God. The petition, “Guide and strengthen us by your Spirit, that we may give ourselves to your service, and live this day in love to one another, and live this day in love to you” asks for the aid of the Holy Spirit in service to God and recalls Jesus's words in the Gospel of Matthew, 22:37-39: “And [Jesus] said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”The conclusion, “through Jesus Christ our Lord,” reflects the mediating role of Jesus Christ the Son, as expressed in I Timothy 2:5 (“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”) and Ephesians 2:18 (“For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father”).Appropriate at any time of year, this short anthem of dedication is an ideal offertory selection. ©Copyright 2024 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). Published by Marilena Zlatanou (A0.1372416). PAPYRUS OXY.1786 Fragment of hymn to the Holy Trinity (end og 3rd cent. AD)Found on papyrus at ancient Oxyrhynchus (Egypt), written in Ancient Greek and in ancient Greek musical notation, transcribed to modern notation and published in Documents of Ancient Greek Music (edited and transcr. by E. Pöhlmann and M.L. West, Clarendon Press/Oxford, 2001).(...All praise through us the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost...) The first 15 bars are written as printed in the above-mentioned publication and simply distributed to the choir voices. The rest is my attempt to incorporate this fragment in an a cappella SATB choir piece, in an effort to combine my knowledge and inspiration of both ancient Greek music and Byzantine hymnography, as well as classical choir writing.Duration: ca 5'' Phonetic transcription in the Latin alphabet is notated right below the original Greek text, English translation, and a key to Greek Pronunciation are provided on the title page. The mp3 file provided is exported from the sibelius fileFor more information on the arranger, (member of TONO, the Norwegian copyright org.), please visit website www.zlatanou.net

SATB choir unaccompanied - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.7.0720-E Composed by Stephen Chatman. Instrument parts. 36 pages. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #7.0720-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.7.0720-E). English.Due South is one in a series of four choral suites that explore the cultural and natural wonders of various regions of North America. Stephen Chatman’s choral settings are broad in scope and tone; the tone painting evokes the stunning landscapes and their diverse communities. Both his original texts and those of poet Tara Wohlberg capture the enchanted worlds of North, South, East, and West.1. Arise is the short opening of this suite of five pieces, and is set to glorious homophonic music with rising motives in the lower voices.2. What's Cookin'? takes its sweet time tantalizing the listener with all the menu items of a truly Southern feast. Music, set to a slow tempo in swing eighths, makes the recitation tempting, if not downright sultry.3. Bugs is a soundscape of insects and their songs. Precise vocal effects make this challenging but also whimsical, and the result is pure fun.4. Love, O Love recalls an old-fashioned love letter in which the writer compares the beloved to the moon and the sun and pledges eternal love. The music begins with lush chords sung together, moves to an over-arching soprano line with gentle undulations in the lower parts, and finishes with the choir singing together again, Love shines on you, my only one.5. A perfectly apt finale to this choral suite, Kentucky Derby begins with a nod to My Old Kentucky Home, and then it's off to the races, literally. The text of the suite is declaimed rapidly in patter-song format, almost as if the chorus is calling race as it progresses. A tour de force, and truly, ..a wild ride!

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.972650 Composed by James Siddons. Contemporary,Opera,Ragtime. Octavo. 79 pages. James Siddons Music and Writings #4898807. Published by James Siddons Music and Writings (A0.972650). Two Views of Scott Joplin is an exploration of a personal and artistic crisis that Scott Joplin, the King of Ragtime, went through between 1904 and 1906. This crisis was precipitated by the untimely death of Freddie Alexander in September 1904, to whom Joplin had been married only ten weeks. Knowledge of this marriage was lost to history for almost a century until the Joplin scholar Edward A. Berlin discovered the newspaper obituary, which is quoted in the bass solo in Part II, The Obituary of Freddie Alexander. Apparently, Scott Joplin, already inspired by the progressive ideals of Booker T. Washington, saw a path to social and artistic betterment through his love of Freddie, a daughter of a refined family. During this period, Joplin used the title rag less often in his piano-solo works, and nurtured an interest in opera (he had long been active in vaudeville as well as ragtime piano). He seems to have lost his sense of direction in 1905 and 1906, until led by his publisher John Stark to move to New York City in 1907. Once there, apparently growing out of his grief, Joplin studied with an Italian opera singer and composer, composed his folk opera Treemonisha, and composed Wall Street Rag and his other late masterpieces for piano. Joplin died in April 1917 following two years of debilitating illness. Joplin left almost no personal writings, such as letters or diaries. To create an impression of autobiography, Two Views of Scott Joplin consists mostly of words and music written by Scott Joplin, and piano music composed by two close associates, the composer-pianists Louis Chauvin and Scott Hayden. These words come from Treemonisha, from Joplin’s little-remembered vaudeville and parlor songs, and also from text in his sheet-music---copyright notices, publishers’ addresses, titles and subtitles of rags, performance directions. In most cases, selected lyrics are extracted from songs and paired with piano-solo themes. These ingredients are combined in creative ways to express the biographical narrative. Instrumental themes are re-cast as necessary to express their newly-attached lyrics. But in no place can any of the music in Two Views of Scott Joplin be considered an arrangement of a given, intact composition, nor a medley of tunes, nor a theatrical revue. The character development and dialogue found in Scott Joplin’s Struggle with Destiny (Part II, No. 3) is my own biographical interpretation of Joplin, based on known evidence and on his music. The score contains extensive Performance Notes for performing this 16-minute work as a choral work or as a short opera scene.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012178 Composed by Duncan Krummel. 20th Century,Contemporary. Octavo. 5 pages. Krummel Music Publishing #3629849. Published by Krummel Music Publishing (A0.1012178). A Prayer is for SSAATTBB. The text, by Sara Teasdale, is a triumphant pledge to love unabashedly until your dying day. The work frames this theme within a question. Is it right to love this way? Is it safe? Appropriate for any concert, the work represents moderately challenging harmonic content, and an opportunity for choirs to discuss text setting and the deeper meaning music can supply text. Run time is between 3.5-4 minutes. Duncan Krummel is a member of ASCAP.
