Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891206 Arranged by Dandelion Music Press. Contemporary,Folk,World. Octavo. 15 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3104497. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891206). This tender lullaby is a touching memorial for an end of life commemoration of a parent or caregiver. Here is a great opportunity to collaborate with a children's or youth choir and Irish instrumentalists, or to freely substitute any treble solo and Western instrumental equivalent.Included in Project:Encore 2017, Quarter 1 Lost Songs of Ancient Ireland, for Mixed Choir with Treble Descant, Piano or Harp, Bodhran, Irish Flute, and Violin, is a three-movement song cycle that focuses on the shifting relationships over the scope of a lifetime from the differing perspective of each person involved.I. Old Beggarman- Two interwoven jigs, It Was an Old Beggarman, Weary and Wet and Ag an mBóithrÃn Buà (At the Yellow Little Road), of both a young lady's observation of a wandering beggarman and his unrequited, possibly unexpressed, love for her. They are offered together as alternate perspectives from potential romantic partners, and features lilting, mouth music, or portaireacht bhéil (port a'bhéil, mouth-singing) as it is known in Irish Gaelic.II. I Would Rock My Child to Sleep- A sentimental Irish lullaby Irish lullaby Do Chuirfinnse Féin Mo Leanbh a Chodladh (I Would Put My Own Child to Sleep) highlights the shifting roles of a caregiver: the parent full of hopes of the parent for the child morphing over a lifetime into a blessing from the grown child to the aged parent. Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative: 1. hopes of the parent for the child 2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance 3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent? 4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infantIII. The Drummer- An energetic reel, a combination of Maidin Fhómhair, nó CailÃn Péacach (The Harvest Maiden, or Sprouting Maiden) and Cormac Spáinneach, nó An Drumadóir (Cormac Spaineach, or The Drummer), alternating between romantic partners encased by a nostalgic love song, suggesting the passing of a lifetime.Commissioned by Cora Voce; Tacoma, WAMovements available for purchase separately.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.949299 Composed by Jean Ahn. 20th Century,Contemporary. Octavo. 14 pages. Jean Ahn #4632463. Published by Jean Ahn (A0.949299). Text from Little PrinceThe little prince went back to look at the roses again. You're not at all like my rose. You're nothing at all yet, he told them. No one has tamed you and you haven't tamed anyone. You're the way my fox was. He was just a fox like a hundred thousand others. But I've made him my friend, and now he's the only fox in all the world. And the roses were humbled. You're lovely, but you're empty, he went on. One couldn't die for you. Of course, an ordinary passerby would think my rose looked just like you. But my rose, all on her own, is more important than all of you together, since she's the one I've watered. Since she's the one I put under glass. Since she's the one I sheltered behind a screen. Since she's the one for whom I killed the caterpillars (except the two or three for butterflies.) Since she's the one I listened to when she complained, or when she boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing at all. Since she's my rose. ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Bach Little Fugue in G Minor for Double Reed Choir BWV 578

Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796870 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Baroque,Concert. Octavo. 29 pages. Stephanie Daige #3377603. Published by Stephanie Daige (A0.796870). This little fugue is one of Bach's most famous and beloved organ works. Re-imagined for double reed choir, it is a challenging and fun setting for this fugue. The different instruments take turns entering with the subject of the fugue, and interplay back and forth with the other instruments. The timbres of the different instruments adds a whole new textural dimension to this already fascinating work by J.S. Bach. I considered the need to breathe for each of these wind instruments, which obviously wasn't an issue for the original version intended for organ. This piece would be appropriate for advanced high school students, college students, or professionals. It would do well in a chamber music concert, in a church, or between acts of a larger ensemble concert, perhaps in another location of the auditorium while a (quiet!) set change is taking place. It would also work well as prelude or lobby music. The duration is just over three minutes (or longer if you prefer to take it slower). Each measure is numbered individually for convenience during rehearsals. I hope you will enjoy performing this piece as much as I have enjoyed arranging it! There are also versions of this piece available for wind and brass quintets. Please check out my other arrangements at: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/stephanie-daige/6875

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1262362 Composed by Sally Whitwell. 21st Century,Contemporary. Octavo. 17 pages. Sally Whitwell #855402. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1262362). On the morning of 2 March 2020, I finished writing the first draft of this song. It was the same morning that the New South Wales Rural Fire Service announced that for the first time since July 2019, the state was free of active bush and grass fires. At the time it felt quite euphoric. We’d been through a lot. Little did we know what was coming just a few days from then, when the Covid19 global pandemic reached our shores. It’s a virus that would kill millions across the world, and disable millions more, long term. It forced us, globally, into a kind of reckoning the like of which we had never experienced before. Non pharmaceutical controls like lockdowns, mask mandates, social distancing and ventilation standards were employed to keep us safe from this airborne virus, whilst scientists worked round clock to develop vaccines and treatments.Technically, the declaration of a pandemic is still active, but governments and people have somehow decided for themselves that it is all over. No one takes any precautions any more. Governments have stopped reporting statistics. People who know they are infected are going about their business with no thought for others. Meanwhile, many of the immune-compromised, the disabled, the vulnerable, are unable to safely leave their homes and engage in activities out in the world. I know this, because I am a carer for a vulnerable person. What this whole exercise has taught me is that people in the world are actually much less kind than I thought they were. Humans do not really care for each other. People attack me for wearing a mask, tell me that I’m virtue signalling and that I look ridiculous (as if I care how I look). I’ve asked questions about workplace Covid safety and been informed that it’s “a bit rich†that I’m asking at all, when everything is now safe. A friend’s diagnosed Long Covid symptoms were cruelly minimised or completely dismissed “Oh, it’s not Covid. How old are you? In your forties? It’s your hormones, it’s the menopause.†The fatal combination of sheer selfishness, rampant misinformation and DISinformation continues, whilst people waltz around spreading a deadly virus with no thought for the grief that will undoubtedly ensue. It boils down to this: if we want to continue as a species and to have a planet on which to reside, we have to stop with the Self Care and start with the Community Care. A choir is the perfect instrument for expressing these notions, through the unique power of the massed first person plural. My wish for this piece is that it spurs performer and listener alike into some kind of action. Please consider the effect your actions have on others, and on the planet, and make any changes necessary, however inconvenient or difficult they are. Otherwise, there’s really no point.Sally Whitwell 11 July 2023.

Stabat Mater

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1187117 Composed by Annemieke Lustenhouwer. Contemporary. Octavo. 130 pages. Annemieke Lustenhouwer #786752. Published by Annemieke Lustenhouwer (A0.1187117). What happens when you close your eyes and you see yourself standing next to Mother Mary when Jesus dies? What do you see and what do you feel? That was what I’ve been asking myself for years when I read the text Stabat Mater. This composition tells about this experience and this questions. Sometimes a motif tells quite literally about this story, like the moment when Jesus is nailed down the cross: first the right hand, then the left hand and finaly with one nail both feet. In the first part of the composition, the viola tells with sforzato accents about this. This Stabat Mater is not only an expression of the pain of the Virgin Mother, but is also a tribute to JS Bach as well. Bach is by some seen as a fith evangelist. Nowadays there are still a lot of people who are affected by how his music tells about biblical stories, like I am. In this Stabat Mater I use the number 5 to express that: the first part is written in 5/4th and the last part Quando corpus et Amen is written with 5 parts in the choir. There can also be found a reworked choral in the choir passages of  O quam tristis et afflicta. It is the choral Wie nahe mir mein Ende from BWV 166.Polyfony is a returning presence in this Stabat Mater. I had an visual idea about this. When I was young I saw in an exhibition a tapestry with all kinds of colours and threads, and everything felt in motion. It was a kind of organized mess, but it was beautiful and felt perfect. I wondered if I could manage to express this idea in music as well. Under one of the polyphonic passages there is a Latin-American dance rhythm to express that motion. I heard that rhythm in my childhood in a rhythmbox of the keyboard of my dad. Another passage has the baroque sarabande-rhythme underneath in the double bass.A lullaby-feeling in some parts of the Stabat Mater tells about another story that got intertwined with this composition. It’s the story of a mother who rocks her terminal dying little son in her arms. I once read that story and it felt connected with the Stabat Mater text for a long time. I decided to express that as well. This composition is dedicated to the Dutch conductor Geert van den Dungen. However I saw many conductors, while playing the oboe and clarinet from a young age, there was nobody who let me think very deeply about music. Geert was the one who changed that for me. I started to study scores and developed a great interest in music analysis and music psychology. Many moments of inspiration and understanding for this Stabat Mater happened on choir rehearsals and concerts where Geert was working. I am very grateful for that.Conductors score with parts for the string players.

The Lord asked Saint Peter; And you, who do you think I am? Around this pericope Quintus N. Sachs built this song for SATB and piano, with chords for the combo. The song starts with two little solo lines for male voices. In the second part, the O-Antiphons are set to music, which makes this song perfectly fit for the Advent.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1265200 By Britney Spears. By Cathy Dennis, Christian Karlsson, Henrik Jonback, and Pontus Winnberg. Arranged by Jason Howard. A Cappella,Contemporary,Pop. Octavo. 9 pages. Jason Howard #858044. Published by Jason Howard (A0.1265200). This arrangement of Toxic is a fresh take on the popular 2000's hit! Taking inspiration from the original and several other different covers of this song, I've written out what is probably one of my favorite arrangements I've written. It's sure to challenge your performers and keep your audience engaged from start to finish! It starts with a soft drone in the Basses that continuously adds chord tones and volume to build sonic intensity and set the tone right out of the gate! We then move on to a slowed down first verse with the melody supported only by chords in the choir. Vocal Percussion leads us into a tempo change and explosive snippet of the melody before the piece hits its stride. Lots of upbeats, syncopations, and altered melodic tones throughout adds a high level of difficulty to this piece. As we get to the end of this piece, the ensemble will suddenly alter time to a half time feel that not only adds to excitement but also helps to bring the piece to a dramatic closing. This is written for Solo voice and SSAATTBB choir and a Vocal Percussionist. As with most of my arrangements I leave many of the syllables blank to encourage the director/performers to put their own spin on the arrangement with their own choice of syllables! Suggested syllables in certain spots and all necessary melodic lyrics have all been included for you!I hope that you and your group enjoys my arrangement! If you do (or even if you don't), please leave a comment and let me know! As a current full time band director who would love to be able to do this full time one day, any and all critiques are appreciated, and I'm particularly interested in formatting suggestions! If you would rather email me than leave a comment, shoot me an email at jhowardarranging@gmail.com!A little about me:My name is Jason Howard, and at the time of this publication, I'm going into my 5th year as a band director at the middle and high school levels. I have quite a bit of experience with arranging of various types of vocal and instrumental ensembles and combos. Most are for personal use, but as I get time, I hope to publish more and more for public consumption! Primarily, I focus on popular music, and I one day hope to bring important and influential classical musics to audiences and younger students everywhere!

4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infant III.

SATB chorus divisi - Digital Download SKU: BJ.1231 Composed by Enrico Miaroma. Secular. Octavo. 16 pages. Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital #1231. Published by Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital (BJ.1231). 8.27 x 11.7 inches.Contents:My song FarewellTwo compositions to lyrics by Indian Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore: My Song and Farewell. Enrico Miaroma, Italian composer and choral conductor, writes about the pieces: Farewell was composed in 2011 for a youth choir of 45 young adults, working and having fun together in Arco (Trentino), for one marvellous week together with Gary Graden and myself. My aim was to compose a piece that young choristers would appreciate after intense and joyful days together. Through my music I wanted to share the range of emotions and the hardship of parting when they were to go home to their native countries again. The choice of such a beautiful and evocative text helped me a great deal to achieve this. Farewell is recorded by S:t Jacobs Chamber Choir and Gary Graden on the cd To the Field of Stars (Footprint Records FRCD 083). My Song is like a little brother to Farewell. From the very beginning, I had a strong feeling that the assonance between the words of the title, 'my song', and 'my son', was intended by the poet. Throughout the composing process, this kept coming back to me, bringing my little son, Giovanni, who is four years old, to mind. I would like My song to be a gift from a father to his son, for his future life: 'This song of mine, my child, will wind its music around you'.John Quinn, MusicWeb International on Enrico Miaroma and Farewell: The choral writing is rich and he harnesses the emotions in the text most effectively. It's an eloquent piece, very well written for voices and it conveys well, I think, some of the emotions of valediction, including dignity..

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.926666 Composed by Michael A. Morizio. Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 15 pages. M.A. Morizio #3588437. Published by M.A. Morizio (A0.926666). In 1 John, we witness the Apostle (that Jesus loved) writing as the elder statesman of the faith in the last third of the 1st century. In chapter two, verse seven, John refers to the church as beloved and proceeds by telling them of a new commandment. He says (verses 9-11), Whoever loves his brother, abides in the light and there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. From this text, John immediately segues into verses 12-14, to affirm for his followers that as far as they are concerned, there is no darkness in them for they are the children of the Light to whom he was earlier referring. John achieves this transition by employing yet another 1st century Hymn to Christ, which I have entitled, Through His Name. This anthem is an affirmation of the faith, first to the little children, then to the fathers, and then to the young men. What is very interesting is that the first stanza is written in the present tense (I am writing to you) but the second stanza, with very similar wording, is written in the past tense (I have written to you). It’s as if to say, you heard the Gospel message before, and you believed, and I am writing it to you again, so that you may continue to believe.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835452 Composed by Stuart Brown. 20th Century,Contemporary,World. Octavo. 211 pages. Stuart Brown Music #5990681. Published by Stuart Brown Music (A0.835452). A fantastic offer price for the full score and all parts! ... Looking for something to add a sense of oriental exoticism to your amateur orchestral/choral concert? This may be what you're looking for! This charming little suite of six dances lasts about 15½ minutes. It consists of a Pavane, Bourée, Sarabande, Allemande, Basse Danse and Galliard, which vary widely in character. As a whole the suite provides some interesting challenges for both performers and listeners. Apart from conventional strings, flute and harp (which can be either pedal or lever) you will need:- One or maybe two Arabian ouds. The parts are playable also on a fretless acoustic guitar. (Needs to be fretless because of the quarter-tones in some of the Arabic modes used.)- A cimbalom (the part can be played on a piano also, with slight modification). You might get away with using a hammered dulcimer but you'd need to make a number of compromises.- A doumbek and a djembe. These beautiful drums are a must for Middle-Eastern or African music. They're fairly easy to find, though finding somebody who can play them properly may take a bit more doing!- Finger cymbals and a gong. These are regular western instruments.- A wind-chime. Anything that produces a nice shimmering spangle of sound will probably do!- A group of singers (SATB). Nothing particularly challenging but see below. The primary oud part, the strings and the singers need to have sufficiently good intonation to pitch quarter tones. These are the exception rather than the rule, but nevertheless play an important part in the character of the music. Apart from this, the music is relatively straightforward and probably playable by any reasonably competent amateur or high school orchestra. In the spring of 2020 I wrote a set of short music tracks for a charity of which I'm a trustee. In order to protect my intellectual property rights in the music, I decided to bring it together into an attractive if not intellectually challenging little suite, hence An Omani Dance Suite. Originally the dances were all in Arabic quarter-tone temperament, but obviously quarter-tones cannot be played easily (if at all) on the flute, harp and cimbalom. So I have made some adjustments but retained the Arabic temperament wherever reasonably possible. I had thought initially of using a santur instead of a cimbalom, but the santur lacks the range and the dynamic capability to be used with a string chamber orchestra. The cimbalom doesn't need to be a concert grand model; in fact it doesn't even need to have dampers. The Omani was something of an afterthought: a musician friend of mine had worked in Oman and commented on how authentically Omani the Basse Danse sounded. The period of composition coincided with a time when I was really missing friends in Vietnam and Romania, so somehow influences from those countries found their way into the music.I'm not bothering with performing rights for this - just go away and enjoy the music! ... but if it inspires you find out more about the charity work that inspires me, feel free to get in touch!https://www.facebook.com/stuartbrownmusic/

Saturnalia Song for voices, wind, brass and percussion

Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576366 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Christmas,Classical,Contemporary,World. Octavo. 27 pages. David Warin Solomons #18013. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576366). A vivid and at times raucous celebration of Saturnalia, in Latin, for an ensemble of voices and instruments (including various percussion, woodwind and brass instruments). The sound sample is a sung performance by the composer with an electronic preview of the instruments. Further explanations: Song for Saturnalia - a raucous and fun romp - in whole tones (since there is scant evidence of the types of scales used in those days - whole tones just seem to work in this context). The Latin words make references to relatively modern times but the spirit of Saturnalia is timeless, after all. The pileum (also written pilleum) is the little cap that slave wore during Saturnalia to show they were free men and women on that day - they would point to their cap and say libertus sum (I am a free person) and omnes aequales sumus (we are all equal). The words (and translation - both by me) are as follows: Saturnalia Song Io Saturnalia! Hodie igitur dominus noster non es. [Hooray, it’s Saturnalia, so today you’re not our boss] Hodie omnes aequales sumus. Io! [Today we are all equal, hooray!] [spoof of USA Anthem] Salve O Frutici [Hi there, Bush] Ecce meum pileum: [Look, see my little cap of freedom] libertus sum [I’m a free man] [spoof of UK Anthem] Salve O Campestri [Hi there, Blair] Ecce meum pileum: [Look, see my little cap of freedom] libertus sum [I’m a free man] [spoof of German Anthem] Salve O Candelari [Hi there Brandt] Ecce meum pileum: [Look, see my little cap of freedom] libertus sum [I’m a free man] Io Saturnalia, Io! [Hooray, it’s Saturnalia, hooray!] [Note on the invented names (used in the vocative in the song of course): Fruticius is based on the word frutex a bush - it’s also used to mean blockhead in Roman comedies, but I can’t help that!. Campestrius is based on campester - a plain or place of clear ground (Blair is the Celtic equivalent word - a forest clearing!) Candelarius is based on candela - a taper or candle - ie something burning hence Brandt (yes, I know he’s earlier than the other two politicians, but, hey, it’s all a bit of anachronistic fun!)].

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522059 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. A Cappella,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 10 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #4628229. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522059). This is a dramatic and attractive setting of the traditional text by Nahum Tate (1652-1715). Tate was an Anglo-Irish poet, hymn writer and lyricist, who became Poet Laureate in 1692. He’s best known for The History of King Lear, his 1681 adaptation of Shakespeare's play. He also wrote the libretto for Henry Purcell's timeless opera, Dido and Aeneas. The traditional melody of While Shepherds Watched is well-known, but this new setting brings in a wealth of new musical material. This is a tuneful work and is sure to be enjoyed by your singers and audiences alike. It is in 2/2 time throughout but journeys through several contrasting keys. It’s also available for SSA and SAT choirs with keyboard accompaniment.  There’s an a cappella section in the middle and more suited to experienced singers. The piano part is not difficult and should be within the reach of any competent pianist. This piece would be ideal for Nativity presentations or would make an excellent addition to your Christmas service or concert. With a duration of 03:05 the vocal ranges in the SATB version are as follows: Soprano: D4 – G5; Alto A3 – D5; Tenor: C3 – E4 and Bass F2 – C4. If you like this choral piece, you might also be interested in other Colin Kirkpatrick Nativity Anthems in this series And a Star is Shining in the East, See this Little Town, I Saw Three Ships, Sing! Morley #5044269. Published by G. M. Morley (A0.500704). This fun little love song comes from Vampire Weekend's fourth album, Father of the Bride, released in early 2019. The original is a duet featuring the female vocals of Danielle Haim.Writer, Ezra Koenig has said of the song I always wanted to do a song that was insanely simple, that was just listing things that go together... It's probably the most wholesome Vampire Weekend song.Although the simplicity of the original song remains, there are some challenging arpeggio's and runs for soprano and alto parts in the latter half of the piece. This version is suitable for weddings and pop or community choir performances. If you would like to contact me about this arrangement or would like to request something specific, please message me via my page: https://www.facebook.com/GMMorleyMusic/ If you perform this piece, I'd love to hear from you.

The tunes are and light and playful but the complexity makes it suited to a Cathedral or Church setting. The oratorio itself (The Poohratorio, composed in 1977) has not yet been published here due to copyright on the works of A A Milne, but the melodies are entirely mine. You may be able to guess some of the characters whose leitmotifs in the oratorio are used in this setting. In particular, the lesser doxology (Glory be to the Father) makes great use the theme of Eeyore, the complaining donkey. The sound sample is performed by Matthew Curtis of choraltracks.com.

Grace Kelly

By Mika. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Score. 16 pages. Published by Sandra Milliken
Grace Kelly is a song by the British pop singer Mika, released in 2007. It also appeared at the same time on his album Life in Cartoon Motion. The song entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 3 and one week later it jumped to No. 1, where it remained for five weeks. It ended 2007 as the year's third biggest-selling single in the UK.It also went to #1 on the Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, Norway and Turkey singles charts.<br> <br> The song is titled after the Academy Award winning film and stage actress Grace Kelly who went on to become Princes Grace of Monaco. The lyric "So I tried a little Freddie" is a reference to Queen'sFreddie Mercury, to whose singing voice Mika's has been compared.<br> <br> The song was designed to be a mocking satire of musicians who try to reinvent themselves to be popular. Mika wrote the song after feeling frustrated with record company executives who wanted him to change his sound to fit the common pop mould - to be "more like Craig David". After one such interview, Mika wrote the song saying "I can be any colour you want, what the hell do you want me to be, should I look older, should I bend over just to be put on your shelf. What is it that you want? You don't know what you want so I can be every color of the rainbow.' And at the end I was like, 'all you think about is money, so "kerching"! - take that.' And that was the song."<br> <br> A fun piece for audience and singers alike, with some vocal and rhythmic challenges, as well as occasional divisi parts, thrown in for good measure.
