Saxophone Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1341915 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Christian,Christmas,Holiday,Traditional. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #927425. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1341915). Joy to the World is an English Christmas carol written by the English minister and hymnwriter Isaac Watts in 1719. Here are some interesting facts about the song:Originally a Poem: Joy to the World was originally a poem, not a song.Inspiration: Isaac Watts wrote the lyrics with Jesus's second coming in mind, not His first coming, inspired by the latter half of Psalm 98.Musical Origin: The melody for Joy to the World is attributed to George Frideric Handel and arranged by Lowell Mason. The first four notes of the song are the same as the chorus Lift your heads from Handel's Messiah. Not Intended as a Christmas Carol: The song wasn't intended to be a Christmas carol, as its original version had no such link with Christmas. It adapted Psalm 98, celebrating Jesus's role as King of his church and the world.Popularity: Since 1719, Joy to the World has remained one of the most-published hymns in Northern America and has been recorded by various artists.Joy to the World is a timeless piece of art that has withstood the test of time and continues to be enjoyed and appreciated by generations, making it a significant part of Christmas celebrations.

Saxophone Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Baritone Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1148916 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 10 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #749049. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1148916). This arrangement adapted for baritone saxophone trio was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change in key, so that it is comfortable for all instruments in the formation, thus maintaining the essence of the striking melody, as well as using it for ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (To Joy), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as the instruments in a symphony, thus creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form that was to be adopted by Romantic composers. This is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy..

Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845229). I have never been where there are endless deserts backed by majestic mountains, but this is what I think it would look like. Far Reaching Vista (From Here to Eternity) is a Tone Poem for Instrumental Trio reminiscent of Les Six (the Parisian composers Poulenc, Auric, Durey, Milhaud, Honnegar, Tailleferre). I have used 20th century harmonies, alternating Time Signatures of 4/4 and 6/4, and many, many markings which require interpretation and musicianship. It is a rhapsodic concert/recital piece that shows great ensemble playing. 6 page score, 2 page parts6:00 minutes

Saxophone Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1341911 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Christian,Christmas,Holiday,Traditional. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #927421. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1341911). It Came Upon the Midnight Clear is an 1849 poem and Christmas carol written by Edmund Sears, a pastor of the Unitarian Church in Wayland, Massachusetts. The lyrics were set to the tune Carol by Richard Storrs Willis in the United States, while in Commonwealth countries, the lyrics are set to Noel, a later adaptation by Arthur Sullivan from an English melody. The whole song comprises five stanzas, and some versions omit certain verses. Interestingly, the Christmas carol doesn't explicitly mention the birth of the Savior, making it unique among Christmas songs.

Saxophone Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1341909 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Christian,Christmas,Holiday,Traditional. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #927419. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1341909). Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is a well-known Christmas carol with exciting facts surrounding its creation and evolution. Here are some intriguing details about the song:The original song was published as Hark, How All the Welkin Rings in the 1739 Wesley hymnal, Hymns and Sacred Poems. The second line, as written by Charles Wesley, read Glory to the King of kings, not Glory to the newborn King. The change from welkin to herald angels was made by George Whitfield, altering the meaning of Wesley's metaphor. The tune we usually associate with Hark! The Herald was written by Felix Mendelssohn in 1840 and was not intended as a sacred song. Mendelssohn wrote it to commemorate the four-hundredth anniversary of Gutenberg's printing press. The song was initially intended to be sung to the same tune as Charles Wesley's Easter hymn, Christ the Lord Is Risen Today. In 1855, British musician William Hayman Cummings adapted Mendelssohn's secular music to fit the lyrics of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing by Charles Wesley. The hymn highlights the virgin birth, the universal application of the coming of the incarnate Deity to all nations, and the significance of Christ's birth in Bethlehem. These facts shed light on the historical and musical significance of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, adding depth to its enduring popularity as a Christmas carol.
