The string trio consists of a completed first movement marked ‘Allegro’ and only a few bars of a slower second movement. In many ways it looks back to earlier composers such as Haydn and Mozart. This transcription for saxophone trio is of the complete first movement only.Included in this arrangement: Full trio score (SAT) Soprano Saxophone part Alto Saxophone part Tenor Saxophone part Baritone Saxophone part (tenor saxophone alternate) There is one instance of altissimo in each of the soprano, alto, and baritone parts. Suggestions are given for alternate notes should that be necessary. The tenor part require no altissimo. Additionally the bari part often goes quite high in its normal range. Trio in B-flat D471 was originally scored for the usual string trio ensemble of violin, viola, and cello. This transcription is for saxophone trio: soprano, alto, and either tenor or baritone saxophones (parts are included for both). It is a straightforward example of Classical sonata-allegro form. This arrangement is in the original key of B-flat major. It is in common time (4/4) throughout. The tempo stays at 'allegro' throughout. Intermediate-advanced players should have no problems with this work.

Danse Noble (1902) Émile Paladilhe (1844 – 1926) Saxophone Trio SAT Danse Noble by Emile Paladilhe arranged for ATB saxophone trio. Danse Noble is an elegant little piece that began life as a work for piano. The alto and tenor saxes trade melody and counter melody statements while the bari sax provides a quiet bass line. The arrangement for saxophone trio is raised one semi-tone from the original key of A to B flat. A good choice for an intermediate group of players. Moderate tempo in 3/4 time with a middle section slightly faster in the parallel minor key. The parts are very independent. Performance time is about 3.5 minutes.  The late 19th century French composer Émile Paladilhe is mostly forgotten today but in his time was well respected and admired. His works were performed throughout the concert halls and opera stages of Europe. Today singers remember him for a few of songs and oboists for his “Solo for Oboe†also known as “Concertanteâ€. Sax players may know that piece too. A transcription is included in the widely available Concert and Contest Collection for Alto Saxophone.

The Trio Sonatas are considered to be among the most important and influential works of the Baroque era, and they continue to be widely performed and studied today.The Bach Trio Sonatas have been successfully transcribed for a variety of ensembles, including wind, string, and brass ensembles. The parts are easily divided among a variety of wind instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and saxophone. In these transcriptions, the original material is retained, but often with some additional orchestration or embellishment. These transcriptions often emphasize the polyphonic texture of the original works, creating a rich soundscape.  The Sonatas have also been successfully adapted for a variety of string ensembles. In these versions, the original two-part texture with the basso is maintained, creating a full and satisfying sound that allows for a more nuanced interpretation of the works.
