French-Brazilian pop group Kaoma recorded the song a few years later for their 1989 album "Worldbeat", and renamed the song "Chorando Se Foi (Lambada)".
Although their cover lead to a lawsuit due to the unauthorized translation, Kaoma's "Lambada" became a huge international hit, with more than 5 million copies sold worldwide!
