The generating complex {6,5,5,9,7} conforms the DNA of the whole work and is present in both formal structure and harmony or melody. The funerary sequence of the Gregorian, ‘Dies irae, dies illa’ (On the day of the wrath, that day), hangs throughout the piece until it becomes evident and dominates the spirit. The death precedes to a new life.---Esta obra é uma homenagem a Thomas Mann, quem publicou A Montanha Mágica em 1924 e recebeu o prémio Nobel de Literatura em 1929. Segundo as palavras do próprio autor, a novela é uma viagem à decadência que se vive num Sanatório de montanha dedicado a curar a tuberculose. Basada en el Estudio de Pizzicato para la Mano Izquierda, extraÃdo del Método denominado: Escuela de la Mandolina, escrito por el compositor italiano y virtuoso de dicho instrumento, Carlo Munier. Carlo Gennaro Pasquale Munier, más conocido como Carlo Munier; nació en Nápoles el 15 de julio de 1859 y falleció el 10 de Febrero de 1911. Fue un mandolinista italiano que abogó por el reconocimiento de la mandolina como un instrumento de la música clásica . El Maestro Silvio Ranieri en 1925 describió a Munier como uno de los principales pioneros en la reactivación del repertorio de mandolina, un repertorio que con Munier comenzó a alejarse de las limitaciones del estilo popular (valses, serenatas y marchas de moda) para acercarse a las formas de música de arte.
