An arrangement of The End Of The World, a song covered by many famous artists. includingThe Carpenters; thanks to the phenomenal singing of Karen Carpenter. The End of the World was written by composer Arthur Kent and lyricist Sylvia Dee, who often worked as a team.The Carpenters (officially known as Carpenters were an American vocal and instrumental duo consisting of siblings Karen (1950–1983) and Richard Carpenter (born 1946). They produced a distinctive soft musical style, combining Karen's contralto vocals with Richard's harmonizing, arranging, and composition skills. During their 14-year career, the Carpenters recorded 10 albums along with many singles and several television specials. Karen possessed a powerful singing voice, and close miking brought out many nuances in her performances. Richard arranged their music to take advantage of this, though Karen had a three-octave vocal range. Richard's work with Karen was influenced by the music of Les Paul, whose overdubbing of the voice of wife and musical partner Mary Ford allowed her to be used as both the lead and harmony vocals.[6] By multi-tracking, Richard was able to use Karen and himself for the harmonies to back Karen's lead. The overdubbed background harmonies were distinctive to the Carpenters, but it was the soulful, engaging sound of Karen's lead voice that made them so recognizable. Record executive Mike Curb said it was Karen's voice that took the Carpenters above straight pop music into pop rock.  She was known as a one take wonder and could deliver a strong performance on the first attempt.Richard Carpenter was the creative force behind the Carpenters' sound. First, students will use the 8 va and 8 vb concepts, utilizing the full range of the piano throughout by crossing the hands during play. Second, an imagination of being on the sea requires students to perform the piece with a technique which produces a sound accordingly. Third, frequent dynamic changes mimic danger on the high seas as well as calm conditions. Lastly, students will reinforce their ability to count in 6/8 time. My students have enjoyed playing The Ever Changing C for many years. They enjoy the flow of the piece as well as the challenge of the cross-overs. For details, please consult my biographers. Untransferable is the lived experience, the pain – and consciousness. The approach to this album is conceptual, as a journey from darkness to light, from the forces of oppression to liberation, from thanatos to survival. Musically, this album is also a way of reaffirming that I want, that I need to play and record music that is as authentic as possible, and not what is supposed to be successful in certain contexts. Certainly, the pieces on this album can be performed individually. These eleven works were recorded at Access All Areas Studios, Bremen (Germany); recording and mastering engineer: Nils Völcker. The recordings can be found on all digital streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, TikTok, Instagram, etc.). Until the full release of the album on 19 May 2023, please look out for the individual titles, which appear every four to five weeks.
