Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1135456 Composed by Carl Czerny. Arranged by KlavarScore. 19th Century,Instructional,Romantic Period. Score. 25 pages. KlavarScore #735494. Published by KlavarScore (A0.1135456). Book 5, containing the exercises 89-110 from Carl Czerny's 110 Easy and Progressive Exercices as an addition to the free Klavarscore Beyer Piano Course (See www.klavarscore.org). This book in Half-Letter/A5 format can be sight-read from a tablet or e-book reader. It is also possible to print two pages on one Letter/A4 sheet in landscape orientation. In this book you will find links for free download of the audio files and KlavarScore Scrolling files, so you can play these pieces (with an appropriate app) from your cellphone, tablet or desktop PC. Perhaps not only for exercising, but also because it is such nice music to play and hear..... Books 1-4, also containing 22 exercises each are also available. By practicing the exercises found in this and the remaining 4 books of this series, the student will quickly discover how Czerny must have intended these to be much more than simple exercises. As exercises, Czerny would of course want them to be meticulously practiced, revisited and improved upon, but in doing so, students will find them to be very pleasurable pieces of music to play, even for the enjoyment of an audience. These books contain instructions in Czerny's own words. Translations of Czerny's words are included in the Prefaces or in some cases as footnotes after the exercises, regarding choosing a proper tempo, the proper playing of ornaments, etc., mostly taken from Czerny's Piano School, Opus 500. In this way, Czerny himself becomes the teacher to students in need of one. Carl Czerny (1791-1857) was an Austrian composer, teacher, and pianist of Czech origin whose vast musical production amounted to over a thousand works. His books of studies for the piano are still widely used in piano teaching. He was one of Beethoven's numerous pupils, Franz Liszt was his most famous pupil. Source: Wikipedia.

Piano Solo - Intermediate - Digital Download By Various. Arranged by Mario Stallbaumer. 3 pages. Published by Mario Stallbaumer
With this sheet music, you can play “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” on piano!

The full melody is included in the piano part, so it makes for a perfect instrumental (piano solo) cover.

The famous duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside" was written in 1944 by Frank Loesser, who regularly performed the song at celebrity parties with his wife, Lynn Garland.

In 1949, the song appeared in the film "Neptune's Daughter", and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song!

The song is clearly winter-themed (talking about the blizzard outside!), but it doesn’t mention anything holiday-related. Anyway, the song is generally considered a Christmas song.

Of course, the song has been covered by countless artists since the 40s.

Some of the most memorable recordings include such fantastic duos as Louis Armstrong and Velma Middleton, Ray Charles and Betty Carter, Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton, Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles!

“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” also appeared in an episode of Glee (“A Very Glee Christmas”, Season 2, Episode 10), where it is performed by members of the Glee Cast (Blaine Anderson/Darren Criss and Kurt Hummel/Chris Colfer).

Time for you to play it!

Here are the full lyrics to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”:

[VERSE 1]

I really can't stay (but baby, it's cold outside)

I've got to go away (but baby, it's cold outside)

This evening has been (been hoping that you'd drop in)

So very nice (i'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)

My mother will start to worry (beautiful what's your hurry?)

My father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar)

So really I'd better scurry (beautiful please don't hurry)

But maybe just a half a drink more (put some records on while I pour)

The neighbors might think (baby, it's bad out there)

Say what's in this drink? (no cabs to be had out there)

I wish I knew how (your eyes are like starlight now)

To break this spell (i'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)

I ought to say, no, no, no sir (mind if I move in closer?)

At least I'm gonna say that I tried (what's the sense in hurtin' my pride?)

I really can't stay (oh baby don't hold out)

But baby, it's cold outside

[VERSE 2]

I simply must go (but baby, it's cold outside)

The answer is no (but baby, it's cold outside)

Your welcome has been(how lucky that you dropped in)

So nice and warm (look out the window at this dawn)

My sister will be suspicious (gosh your lips look delicious)

My brother will be there at the door (waves upon the tropical shore)

My maiden aunts mind is vicious (gosh your lips are delicious)

But maybe just a cigarette more (never such a blizzard before)

I've gotta get home(but baby, you'd freeze out there)

Say lend me a coat(it's up to your knees out there)

You've really been grand (i thrill when you touch my hand)

But don't you see? (how can you do this thing to me?)

There's bound to be talk tomorrow (think of my lifelong sorrow)

At least there will be plenty implied (if you got pnuemonia and died)

I really can't stay (get over that old out)

Baby, it's cold outside

Vocalise of S. Rachmaninoff Op.34, No.14 for Piano Solo

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862647 Composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Arranged by Michael Bomier. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #3584637. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862647). The Vocalise is a time-honored recital program item. Yet, there are only a handful, no pun intended, I guess! of reasonable arrangements for piano solo. The Kocsis setting has a TON of extra arpeggios, mostly derived from the orchestral treatment by the composer. My setting here takes the most economical and stylistically precise approach to integrating the original melody and accompaniment into a single musical expression. There are NO notes that are not directly on the page of the accomp or the tune. Notwithstanding, the piece is by no means a simple one, given its key, and the composer's penchant for borrowed chords. So, we have done our best to make the altered spellings both clear and still voice and key-relevant. A nice four-pages-facing layout for a single-sided printer. A modest tempo is presented, and the piece can go faster if you have the time to practice it enough! New edition has some changes to R-L hand distribution, and three editorial fixes. MBB .

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862655 Composed by Tschaikowsky, P. Arranged by Michael Bomier. Concert,New Age,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #3590255. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862655). June, it's a nice month anywhere in the world. Nice enough to write music about. Here is Tschaikowsky's piece, with some of its superfluous complexities altered just enough to provide a pleasing playing experience, at any time of year!Very few passages contain anything but original notes, although some of them have been re-assigned to the opposite hand. Again, our emphasis on the rhythmic beginnings of each note, and our commitment to clarity require that some ties and longer durations be expunged, in favor of seeing the shape of the gesture at hand, so to speak! MP3 file. 4 pages, single-sided printing recommended. New version as of 6/23/20 with better editorial detail. Original key, full-length, as always. MBB.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.828263 Composed by Paul Thurmond. New Age,Pop,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 3 pages. Paul Thurmond #4969097. Published by Paul Thurmond (A0.828263). Use: Prelude, Offertory, CommunionI have a nice view from my studio window on the second floor of my house. It overlooks our big backyard, some trees and brush, a couple of fields, and some small mountains in the distance. My studio is set up so that as I play I can look outside. This year in Tennessee we’ve had more snow than normal. There have been many school closings. Even Tennessee Tech shut down at times, which hardly ever happens. So I’ve had some opportunities to sit in my studio in the middle of the day, look out my window at the beautiful falling snow, and write music.I began today’s piece a few weeks ago, during one of the largest snowfalls I’ve seen since I moved here from Wisconsin. I composed a few measures that I liked, couldn’t think of where to go next, and put it aside for a time. For the next few days I kept coming back to it, always liking what I had already written, but not able to add anything new. Then we had another snowfall. This time I was able to finish the basic structure of the piece, but I got stuck when I started to polish it up.A couple of days ago it snowed yet again, and I completed the work and recorded it.Today is Saturday, and it’s not snowing as I write this. However, they’re predicting more snow on Monday, which is usually the day I edit my blog posts. [Last minute update: No snow on Monday, although we did get 2 inches of rain.]Apparently, this piece owes its existence to frozen precipitation. I considered naming it Paean to the Snow Muses, but I think I’ll stick with my original title, February.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1350503 By Frank Sinatra. By James Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn. Arranged by Martyn Clive Johnson (aka Martycli Piano Guy). Contemporary,Jazz,Pop,Ragtime,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Martyn Johnson #935306. Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1350503). I take this classic tune through 2 keys - C major and Db major. It is basically a stride piano version but the right hand owes a lot to ragtime too. It should be played with a nice swing rhythm ie tied triplets not straight quavers (eighth notes) and with a bit of a bounce!I don't include fingering or dynamics of which no two piano teachers would agree on, so I leave this to the discretion of the player. I do include chord symbols which I always find most useful in learning a tune. Please note this is a piano solo and doesn't show the notation for the other instruments included on my youtube upload ie strings and bass. I write all my tunes to stand up as piano solos so it sounds perfect when played as a piano solo. It's a lovely tune and I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did arranging it.

This is my version of La Vie En Rose the classic French chanson. I take it through 3 keys - D, Eb and E major. I play it in a moderately upbeat stride piano style and elaborate a little on the melody. It's a lovely haunting melody with a nice chord structure. I include chord symbols which always help me to learn and remember tunes. I don't include fingering or dynamics which you would never get two piano teachers to agree on so I leave these up to the discretion of the individual pianist. Please note this is a piano solo only and I don't notate the other instruments on my youtube recording but I write all my music as piano solos so they sound perfect as such.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.828227 Composed by John Hatton. Arranged by Paul Thurmond. 20th Century,Baroque,Christian,Sacred. Score. 7 pages. Paul Thurmond #4968929. Published by Paul Thurmond (A0.828227). Tune: DUKE STREETUse: Prelude, PostludeOne Sunday my church was singing Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun as the opening hymn. It’s our tradition that the last stanza of a hymn is sung in unison, so that I as the organist can change the harmonization and keep things interesting. Sometimes I know ahead of time what I’m going to do, and sometimes I make it up on the spot.On this particular morning I planned on being spontaneous. (Can spontaneity be planned?) When we got to the final stanza, I threw on the 16′ pedal reed and went to town.I don’t know if this is the case for all musicians, but while I’m playing my brain is working on several different levels. Most of these are involved in actually playing the music, but there’s also a running commentary on how things are going. This commentary is usually really boring: It’s going okay. It’s going okay. It’s going okay. Sometimes the messages are more interesting: Uh-oh. She just dropped her mute. I missed that chord; remember to circle it when we’re done. My page turner appears to be on fire. So: We’re in the final stanza of Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun. Big, majestic hymn. Over a hundred congregants and choir members are enthusiastically singing in unison. I’m leading them from the organ with an improvised accompaniment that involves all of my limbs. It’s fair to say that I was concentrating hard.Suddenly the commentary part of my brain breaks in: Dude, your feet are totally playing Canon in D. Cool!Canon in D is the most famous work of Johann Pachelbel, a German composer who preceded Bach by a few decades. It’s overused at weddings, but it’s actually a really good piece of music. The original is for three violins and a basso continuo part, which would usually have been played by harpsichord and cello. In this case, the basso continuo plays the same eight measures again and again throughout the piece. This technique of repetition is called a ground bass. While that’s going on, the violins play several different themes on top of it.When I was improvising that Sunday, my feet had accidentally wandered into that ground bass part, which happened to fit nicely with the melody we were singing. During the sermon (sorry Pastor!) I started going through the violin themes in my head, seeing if any of them could also match up with the hymn tune. Some of them worked and some didn’t. I decided to write a sort of theme and variations, where the hymn tune appears in various forms. Sometimes it’s played along with one of the violin themes, and sometimes a violin theme serves as an interlude on its own. And except for one passage, the left hand is always playing some version of the basso continuo theme. I also changed the meter from 4/4 to 3/4 to make it more interesting. It culminates in a climax worthy of a king. I hope you enjoy it.

I had a lot of fun writing this piece. The idea came from one of my composition friends from my time at University. He enjoyed writing a lot of anime style music - especially using the anime chord progression which is what I use in the composition. I didn’t want to the piece to sound too much like an anime opening so I did alter the chord progression a little here and there just to make it’s own thing.I am quite happy with how this piece turned out though, the chord progression does provide for some really nice and smooth voice-leading which makes the whole composition more seamless. There are a few different melodies in this piece although I did try to use the one melody and create the other ones based off of that. That is a skill I’m still working on and it really pays off when it’s done well.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.903600 Composed by Mel Stallwood. 20th Century,Jazz,Ragtime,Standards. Score. 5 pages. Mel Stallwood #3550643. Published by Mel Stallwood (A0.903600). This is a composition about Autism, which affects a member of our family, Joshua, who despite his condition has remarkable and wonderful qualities, as do his immediate family who, it’s fair to say have been to hell and back. I personally, sometimes have problems coping with the best of people and can be most intolerant sometimes but my amazing wife manages somehow to cope with me (most of the time). However, the sort of problems and challenges families with autistic children face daily, weekly, yearly is simply herioc and very underestimated. Anyway music is the only thing I seem to be half decent at so I dedicate this piece to Josh who I know one day will be perfect. The piece begins and ends with a stride style novelty piano tune and has sad and emotional themes and modulations throughout. There is a brief minor melt down depicted in the music and interaction issues but there is (has to be) a nice jolly happy ending which is the rag/stride style.

Hear it on YouTube:https://youtu.be/XeU6fM0Uyd4I make piano solo arrangements for my students of songs that they love! My goal is to create something that sounds beautiful as a standalone piece of music, but most importantly, that it actually makes pianistic sense. Sometimes I even hide exercises in the arrangements that I want a student to work on. All of my arrangements are usually made for a specific student, so the results will always vary. This arrangement was made for a late beginner working in Level 1-2 of the Alfred's Masterwork Classics series. Nice and easy simple triad patterns in the left hand, blocked and broken. This happens to work very nicely in this song. Lullaby-ish quality throughout. Very sweet rendition of a very popular song.Pedal and fingering suggestions are included.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017150 Composed by James Babcock. Contemporary. Score. 35 pages. James Babcock #6350295. Published by James Babcock (A0.1017150). FROM CHILDHOOD – Piano accompaniment only. 35 pgs. (Violin part. 15 pgs. Sold separately SO. .) Four easy to Intermediate violin solos for instruction and performance. With piano accompaniments. Each of the four pieces is available separately on SMP. (1) MARGARET DANCING. (SO. ) Like a Beethoven song and country dance, this piece offers pleasing melodies for the beginner who is well along, both to study and to perform in recital. (2) MUSICBOX. (SO. ) This short easy piece imitates the sound of a music box, including its running down at the end. For instruction it can serve to introduce the student to light staccato bowing or up and down slurred staccato bowing. For performance it can serve as an amusing interlude. (3) HYMNSONG. (SO. ) In the form of an etude, this piece consists of a simple theme with numerous variations, somewhat like Paganini’s famous Caprice 24. Of intermediate difficulty, it offers double stops, tremolo, and various bowings. For performance it can be played as is or it can easily be shortened by omission of one or more passages. (4) MOTHER’S STORIES. (SO. ) Varying from sweet to dramatic, this simple composition offers an opportunity for emotional interpretation. Intermediate from that standpoint, It is otherwise basically easy. A nice recital piece. Your compositions are charming and melodic, useful both for training and performance.-Thomas Lindsay, former concertmaster, Virginia Beach Symphony and New Jersey Pops.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987083 Composed by Eric Paul Nolte …

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987083 Composed by Eric Paul Nolte and Felix Le Couppey. Arranged by Eric Paul Nolte. Contemporary,Instructional. Score. 5 pages. Eric Paul Nolte #1954995. Published by Eric Paul Nolte (A0.987083). This piece is a free adaptation and a complete reworking of a study by Felix Le Couppey (1811-1887), from his L'Agilité, Opus 20, 25 Progressive Studies for Mechanism and Light Touch. In its original form, this study was a charming little piece of musical fluff. But getting it up to speed reduced me to tears! It also gave me an epiphany of immense power that transformed my technique. Suddenly I could play faster than I had ever thought possible, and I could do so with a thrilling ease! This epiphany emerged from the spluttering frustration I felt over my inability to play these sixteenth notes at Le Couppey's metronome marking of 144. It dawned on me that I couldn’t play fast enough because I was tripping over my own fingers when I used the overly articulated technique of moving the fingers by the lift, throw, relax method. This superfluous motion creates an impenetrable barrier, a speed wall, as does playing legato scales by passing the thumb under the palm, when shifting hand position up and down the keyboard. So I found another way-which I’ve since learned was known to every pianist who ever achieved prodigious speed. Here’s how to bring this piece up to speed with ease: Be sure to practice this piece with each hand alone. For each group of sixteenth notes, gently place the four fingers down simultaneously, to get the feel. Think of your arm, from elbow to fingertips, as something like a kitchen utensil, such as a spatula. Moving your right arm as a unit, place your finger tips down into the key bed, depressing all four notes at once, as a block chord. Make sure that all the fingers remain stiff (not rigid with tension, but just stiff enough to resist collapsing upwards.) Slowly lift and then play each group by placing all the fingers down with a rotation of your forearm, calm and relaxed, with the fingers rolling through the notes at the speed of a brief snare drum roll: Rrrrip! To rip through this group of notes like this takes no more effort than to place those four fingers down, calmly, all at once! Then, with a quick shift up or down the keyboard to get into position for the next group, that’s the whole trick for playing such passages with astonishing speed and ease! It takes time and effort to get the knack here, but the result can be transformative and thrilling! As for my adaptation of this study, I believe it offers intermediate advanced players the chance to enjoy a great leap in technique like the one I experienced, and also offers a piece of music that one might not blush to play outside the practice room-perhaps bringing it at least into the living room for a soirée, if not into the concert hall. To make this adaptation, I wrote a grumbly bass line with lungs, and nice fat chords to flesh out most of the skinny little triads that accompany the original study’s fast passages. I added a brooding, chromatic introduction that features as a melody the accompanimental figure of a broken triad that Le Couppey wrote a few times on the second page, in various inversions. I employed this broken chord figure several more times in both hands, and also added a little coda, sprinkled with sparkle. Playing time is about 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1408123 By Damien Gauci. By Damien Gauci. Classical. Full Performance. Duration 178. Damien Gauci #990693. Published by Damien Gauci (A0.1408123). This piece originally began with the idea of the repeated chords in the right hand which I came up with near the end of 2018. I stumbled across this chord progression and developed it into the first eight bars of the composition. I liked the sound of the main section so I decided to use a Rondo form which is structured as ABACA with section A as the repeated chords in the right hand.It was a lot of fun to write this piece and I learnt many new things whilst writing, especially creating a good structure and developing the A section when it returns throughout the piece. The middle, near to the end section with the Alberti bass gives it a nice break between all of the heavy repeated notes. That's one thing I would have done differently in this piece; separate it a little bit more from the heavy repeated chords. The context and idea behind this piece is a bit more abstract than my other pieces as I usually aim to have a story behind my music but it was born out of a musical idea rather than a philosophical one. However, it seems to convey a frantic mood as well as some times for rest and slowing down. There are some sections that I personally think are still a bit basic, which I think with more experience I will be able to write better. I would have to say the start of the second page, or the ascending chords part sounds quite nice. Overall, I'm fairly happy with the end result, and I have another piece to fully release in the near future. I plan on narrowing down certain parameters to further develop my composition techniques and skills.

I was very taken by Ferruccio Busoni’s transcription of J.S. Bach’s Chorale Preludes for organ. I am not familiar with the original version mainly because I don’t enjoy listening to organ music; except when it is in a jazz context, like Jimmy Smith and Joey DeFrancesco.Using Busoni’s version as a model I re-did all nine of his Bach Chorale Preludes in my fashion and then I realized that I needed three more to make a nice simple dozen. So I looked at Max Reger’s transcriptions of the Bach Chorale Preludes and found three that would fit into my twelve-movement work.I. Andante … Komm, Gott Schöpfer, heiliger GeistII. I intentionally avoided the more usual pure soul. This neo-classical piano prelude was composed in Bremen, Germany, on 19 April 2020. The composer's recording of this piece is included in the compilation album Dream Chasers vol 2 of the label Yellow Rose Records (released on 6 November 2020). The track was placed at the top, since, in the words of the label's manager, Eldar Ibrahimovic, Your song was just too nice and very representative of our idea, so we had no choice but to put it up first.
