Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750192 Arranged by Bradley Sowash Music. Christian,Christmas,Gospel,Jazz,Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Bradley Sowash #6135373. Published by Bradley Sowash (A0.750192). They'll think you're improvisingArranged in a Gospel style complete with all the frills including bluesy right–hand embellishments, big left-hand octave runs, sudden stops, and dramatic dynamics. Originally part of a Winter Hymns collection, now available as a single sheet.Musical Map:Right from the start, they will know this isn't a traditional Christmas instrumental. A fully notated jazz solo will have them wondering whether you are improvising. Then it's back to the melody as it modulates from Bb major to G Major. But it's short lived with the energy lifting once more to C major… before winding down to what seems will be a predictable ending. But wait, a deceptive ending cadence holds back that final tonic chord just a bit longer. Don't be surprised to find your listeners unconsciously moving to the deliciously irresistible down home groove.

Piano Solo - Intermediate - Digital Download By Various. Arranged by Mario Stallbaumer. 3 pages. Published by Mario Stallbaumer
With this sheet music, you can play “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” on piano!<br> <br> The full melody is included in the piano part, so it makes for a perfect instrumental (piano solo) cover.<br> <br> The famous duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside" was written in 1944 by Frank Loesser, who regularly performed the song at celebrity parties with his wife, Lynn Garland.<br> <br> In 1949, the song appeared in the film "Neptune's Daughter", and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song!<br> <br> The song is clearly winter-themed (talking about the blizzard outside!), but it doesn’t mention anything holiday-related. Anyway, the song is generally considered a Christmas song.<br> <br> Of course, the song has been covered by countless artists since the 40s.<br> <br> Some of the most memorable recordings include such fantastic duos as Louis Armstrong and Velma Middleton, Ray Charles and Betty Carter, Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton, Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles!<br> <br> “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” also appeared in an episode of Glee (“A Very Glee Christmas”, Season 2, Episode 10), where it is performed by members of the Glee Cast (Blaine Anderson/Darren Criss and Kurt Hummel/Chris Colfer).<br> <br> Time for you to play it!<br> <br> <br> Here are the full lyrics to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”:<br> <br> [VERSE 1]<br> <br> I really can't stay (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> I've got to go away (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> This evening has been (been hoping that you'd drop in)<br> <br> So very nice (i'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)<br> <br> My mother will start to worry (beautiful what's your hurry?)<br> <br> My father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar)<br> <br> So really I'd better scurry (beautiful please don't hurry)<br> <br> But maybe just a half a drink more (put some records on while I pour)<br> <br> The neighbors might think (baby, it's bad out there)<br> <br> Say what's in this drink? (no cabs to be had out there)<br> <br> I wish I knew how (your eyes are like starlight now)<br> <br> To break this spell (i'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)<br> <br> I ought to say, no, no, no sir (mind if I move in closer?)<br> <br> At least I'm gonna say that I tried (what's the sense in hurtin' my pride?)<br> <br> I really can't stay (oh baby don't hold out)<br> <br> But baby, it's cold outside<br> <br> [VERSE 2]<br> <br> I simply must go (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> The answer is no (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> Your welcome has been(how lucky that you dropped in)<br> <br> So nice and warm (look out the window at this dawn)<br> <br> My sister will be suspicious (gosh your lips look delicious)<br> <br> My brother will be there at the door (waves upon the tropical shore)<br> <br> My maiden aunts mind is vicious (gosh your lips are delicious)<br> <br> But maybe just a cigarette more (never such a blizzard before)<br> <br> I've gotta get home(but baby, you'd freeze out there)<br> <br> Say lend me a coat(it's up to your knees out there)<br> <br> You've really been grand (i thrill when you touch my hand)<br> <br> But don't you see? Film/TV,Jazz,Multicultural,Singer/Songwriter,Standards,World. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #811114. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1213917). Yesterday When I was Young is a song composed by Georges Garvarentz and written by Charles Aznavour and released in September 1964. The original French title translates to Just yesterday or Not so long ago.It is considered one of Aznavour's greatest hits. The English-language lyrics, written by Herbert Kretzmer, tell of someone reflecting on his life, recalling how he had wasted his younger years.Lyrics:[Verse 1]Yesterday when I was youngThe taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongueI teased at life as if it were a foolish gameThe way the evening breeze may tease a candle flameThe thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I plannedI always built, alas, on weak and shifting sandI lived by night and shunned the naked light of dayAnd only now I see how the years ran away[Verse 2]Yesterday, when I was youngSo many drinking songs were waiting to be sungSo many wayward pleasures lay in store for meAnd so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to seeI ran so fast that time and youth at last ran outI never stopped to think what life was all aboutAnd every conversation I can now recallConcerned itself with me, me and nothing else at all[Verse 3]Yesterday the moon was blueAnd every crazy day brought something new to doI used my magic age as if it were a wandAnd never saw the waste and emptiness beyondThe game of love I played with arrogance and prideAnd every flame I lit too quickly, quickly diedThe friends I made all seemed somehow to drift awayAnd only I am left on stage to end the play[Outro]There are so many songs in me that won't be sungI feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongueThe time has come for me to pay for yesterdayWhen I was youngYoung, young...

Piano Solo, Piano/Vocal/Chords - Intermediate - Digital Download By Elvis Presley. Arranged by Mario Stallbaumer. 4 pages. Published by Mario Stallbaumer
With this sheet music, you can play "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley on piano! It's an accurate, carefully created piano arrangement of the full song. The entire melody is included in the piano part, so it makes for a perfect instrumental / piano solo cover. Of course, you can also use this piano arrangement to accompany a singer, or sing along yourself - this sheet music includes a system for the singer, as well as the song's full lyrics. Elvis Presley recorded the song for his 1961 musical film "Blue Hawaii". Released as a single in the same year, it became one of his biggest international hits, topping the charts in various countries. At Elvis' live performances in the 60s and 70s, he usually sang "Can't Help Falling in Love" as the show's finale. It would also be the last song he would ever perform live (at his final concert at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis in June 1977). Today, "Can't Help Falling in Love" is Elvis Presley's most-streamed song on Spotify (played over 400 million times)! Needless to say, the beautiful ballad makes for a wonderful piano arrangement!

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1398210 By Jane Taylor. By Tune by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by John Scott. Children. Score. 1 pages. John Scott #981317. Published by John Scott (A0.1398210). This piano arrangement of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star features a soft and gentle atmosphere... gentle enough to calm those energetic little ones and put them to sleep (lullaby). The sweet effect has been heightened through the adaptation of the melody, as well as the harmonising parts, and the introduction of a short interlude in the middle of the piece as a bridge between the first and second verse. The piece is appropriate for intermediate pianists who are starting to learn four-part scores. It is perfect for practising the skill of playing different rythms at the same time. It starts in a simple way with only two simple parts and then it introduces more parts one by one, until four parts are featured. It has also been set to the simple key of C-Major for a less confusing practice session. And of course... the little kids won't be able to help themselves when you play them their favourite song...they will sing along...doesn't get any sweeter...

White Piano International Publishing #707500. Published by White Piano International Publishing (A0.1104290). FROLICAdvanced Intermediate Piano Soloby ROBERT VAN HORNE  9 pagesDuration is about 3:20 In 1995, while performing at Nordstrom Valley Fair in San Jose, CA, I was asked to participate in a group of other Nordstrom pianists from all over the United States in a charitable Holiday project to benefit the “Make A Wish Foundation.†I was told to record several Holiday pieces and submit them to the main office in Seattle. It was a sunny Saturday morning in May when I recorded in my home a few of my favorite holiday songs, like Silent Night, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and other Christmas carols. After doing this, I asked myself, why don't I compose a new instrumental piano piece and submit it along with the other familiar demo examples. I imagined children playing in the snow, sledding down hills, their excitement on Christmas morning, and the wonderful spirit of the holiday season. After a little while I composed this piece. I then thought to myself; “I’ll call it CHRISTMAS FROLIC. Even though Nordstrom never used this piece on their Holiday CD, I performed it for audiences. I remember once telling a friend, “Here’s a new piece I composed called CHRISTMAS FROLIC, however, it can only be played during the Christmas season. My friend replied; “Robert, why don’t you just call it FROLIC, then you can play it all year long. The sheet music is clearly notated with dynamic and articulation marks, phrasing, pedal indications, suggested fingerings and appropriate musical terms for playing. This advanced intermediate piano solo can be played year around. It is an excellent teaching piece that can be used in recitals and school musical events and makes and excellent encore for professionals. It is a delightful musical listening treat for audiences and ideal for more advanced piano students. FROLIC was recorded as a piano selection in 1998 on Robert’s CD entitled PIANO & MEMORIES. The audio sample from the album has accompanied orchestral instrumentation and is not included in the piano sheet music. Robert Van Horne is a long standing member of ASCAP. Published by Indigo Mesa Music LLC (A0.1120779). “how silently, how silently the wondrous gift is given†A piano solo evocative of quiet snow falling, the inward times of winter, and the miracle of a holy birth. Kathleen's notes: The light is born in the dark. The particular hush of winter, of midnight, of a miraculous birth, and of transcendence. (Several times I have tried to create a section for this piece where the music “gets big†and every time I have decided that, while I liked all my new music very much, it just didn’t belong in this piece. Alas, it doesn’t belong in any other piece, either, since it’s clearly created out of motives from The Rebirth of Light. This solo just wants to stay intimate. I am merely the composer and piano player and do not have the authority to override that sweet intimate mood.) Advanced: requires delicacy of touch and, to be comfortable, ease in playing octaves with extra notes inside. Suitable for use in church.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1203048 By Isadar. By Isadar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,New Age. Score. 7 pages. Mainya Music Publishing (BMI) #801732. Published by Mainya Music Publishing (BMI) (A0.1203048). Contains:Numb - taken from the Isadar solo piano collection, The Purple Heart (improvisational solo piano) (available soon on SMP) Sounds like: Keith Jarrett's Köln Concert, Bill Evans, Liz Story, George Winston, early Windham Hill solo piano artists Transcribed by:  David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording Album & Songbook review by:  Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):The Purple Heart is Isadar’s solo piano tribute and memorial to the people who lost their lives in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Recorded as a 56-minute improvisation on 12/25/02, the music is thoughtful, somber, and quite elegant. There are actually thirteen pieces on the CD, but they segue into each other, making it difficult to tell where one song ends and another begins. This is very definitely NOT a problem, as the album unfolds naturally and organically, asking questions, looking inward, and expressing shock and grief. However, this is not music about only despair or rage. I also hear hope and determination as well as quiet reverence - the strange mix of emotions we all felt during those dark days. Titles include From Cradle to Coffin, Bravery, Numb, New York Skyline, and Truth. Isadar has a wonderful way of wearing his heart on his musical sleeve, pouring deep emotion and heartfelt expression into his music. The music was recorded in one take, but rather than meandering all over the place, Isadar used recurring themes that make the work cohesive and consistent enough to hold together even after many listens. This is a very strong and passionate work, but it was recorded with a rather quiet voice which allows it to be very comfortable and soothing background music as well as evocative solo piano music for concentrated and focused listening. The Purple Heart Sheet Music Collection is a note-for-note solo piano transcription of Isadar’s 2003 memorial CD by the same name (transcribed by David Shenton). The recording and book are a tribute to those who died in the attacks of 9/11/2001. The music was recorded in one take and although there are thirteen titles, the pieces segue into each other, creating a seamless 56-minute improvisation. The book indicates where the various pieces begin and end, but can also be played as one long piece. Although the theme of the music is very somber and bleak, the music covers the broad range of emotions we all felt during that period - anger, sadness, hope, determination, resolve, fear, grief, etc. Although the recording is an improvisation, Isadar incorporates a recurring theme that holds the work together as a single entity. Some pieces are very slow while others are lively and even fast. All thirteen pieces are in C minor/Eb major, but the variety of moods and tempos keep the music evolving without becoming repetitious. When the recurring theme pops up, it’s like seeing an old friend! The difficulty in playing someone’s improvisation is that the creation of the music was spontaneous and free-flowing. It isn’t easy to read an improvisation and give the music that quality of freedom. Less advanced pianists might find this frustrating. The time signatures change frequently, but a competent pianist will have no trouble with that. As I was playing this book, I sensed that I was looking directly into Isadar’s heart and feeling what he was feeling as the music was being born - a very powerful experience! Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, featuring today's biggest names in solo piano music.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596539 Composed by Juan MarÃa Solare. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score. 7 pages. Juan Maria Solare #3880115. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596539). Listen: https://soundcloud.com/juan-maria-solare/ausenteAusente (Abstent) is an atonal milonga. If Franz Liszt composed a Bagatelle without tonality, why not a milonga without tonality. This piece is placed somewhere between classical music and new tango. Moderator Louis Barabbas wrote about Ausente for the BBC blog Fresh On The Net nr. 305 (19 November 2018), http://freshonthenet.co.uk/2018/11/faves305 Described as 'somewhere between classical music and new tango' the artist’s phrasing here is telling: somewhere rather than something. For in Juan Maria Solare’s Ausente (absent) we are certainly transported. Each angular phrase jutting up like stone columns or distended stalactites in a limey cave. The trickling thrust of its furtive intent feels somehow elemental yet focused through an urban noir prism, drops of heavy water in varying temperatures, some icicles and some steam, shards of smoky light poking around slow moving fan blades and between the rusty teeth of ancient window grills, monstrous warped shadows cast up from humble orphaned minutiae. Music as beautiful and unsettling as it is hard to dance to. The idea of dancing this piece was a surprise for me, since tango music doesn't need to be danced to (you can also just listen to it). But if you wonder how this tango would appear danced, imagine it is not called tango but contemporary ballet rooted in tango - and suddenly you find ways of dancing it... provided an open-minded choreographer is on board! If someone wants to dance this music in the style of the tango of 1920, they will have a hard time. It would be like trying to dance Strawinsky's Le Sacre du printemps as if it were the Blue Danube Waltz. Juan MarÃa Solare http://www.JuanMariaSolare.com

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1200229 By Skeeter Davis. By Arthur Kent and Sylvia Dee. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Pop,Rock,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Timothy Stapay #799031. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1200229). An arrangement of The End Of The World, a song covered by many famous artists. includingThe Carpenters; thanks to the phenomenal singing of Karen Carpenter. The End of the World was written by composer Arthur Kent and lyricist Sylvia Dee, who often worked as a team. The Carpenters (officially known as Carpenters were an American vocal and instrumental duo consisting of siblings Karen (1950–1983) and Richard Carpenter (born 1946). They produced a distinctive soft musical style, combining Karen's contralto vocals with Richard's harmonizing, arranging, and composition skills. During their 14-year career, the Carpenters recorded 10 albums along with many singles and several television specials. Karen possessed a powerful singing voice, and close miking brought out many nuances in her performances. Richard arranged their music to take advantage of this, though Karen had a three-octave vocal range. Richard's work with Karen was influenced by the music of Les Paul, whose overdubbing of the voice of wife and musical partner Mary Ford allowed her to be used as both the lead and harmony vocals.[6] By multi-tracking, Richard was able to use Karen and himself for the harmonies to back Karen's lead. The overdubbed background harmonies were distinctive to the Carpenters, but it was the soulful, engaging sound of Karen's lead voice that made them so recognizable. Record executive Mike Curb said it was Karen's voice that took the Carpenters above straight pop music into pop rock.  She was known as a one take wonder and could deliver a strong performance on the first attempt.Richard Carpenter was the creative force behind the Carpenters' sound. An accomplished keyboard player, composer and arranger, music critic Daniel Levitin called him one of the most gifted arrangers to emerge in popular music. The duo's smooth harmonies were not in step with contemporary music, which was dominated by heavy rock. Instead, the Carpenters strove for a rich and melodic sound, along the same vein as the Beach Boys and the Mamas & the Papas, but with greater fullness and orchestration including frequent use of small string and horn sections and introspective lyrics centred around relationships. Richard also admired the musicianship and arranging skills of Frank Zappa, and the two briefly met backstage at the Billboard Forum in 1975.End Of The World: Lyrics:Why does the sun go on shining? Why does the sea rush to shore?Don't they know it's the end of the world?'Cause you don't love me any moreWhy do the birds go on singing? Why do the stars glow above?Don't they know it's the end of the world? It ended when I lost your love[Bridge]I wake up in the morning and I wonderWhy everything's the same as it wasI can't understand, no, I can't understandHow life goes on the way it doesWhy does my heart go on beating? Why do these eyes of mine cry?Don't they know it's the end of the world? It ended when you said goodbyeWhy does my heart go on beating? Why do these eyes of mine cry?Don't they know it's the end of the world? It ended when you

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1427036 By Billy Williams. By Fred E. Ahlert and Joe Young. Arranged by Martyn Clive Johnson (aka Martycli Piano Guy). 20th Century,Broadway,Comedy,Jazz,Musical/Show,Ragtime. Score. 8 pages. Martyn Johnson #1007767. Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1427036). My arrangement is a tribute to the old Fat's Waller recording. It's not copied from that rendition at all but I have arranged it as a stride piano piece and hope it exudes some of the joy that Mr Waller brought to it.I take it through three iterations in C, Db and D major, going up a semi-tone each time - so plenty of practice in trickier keys. I don't include dynamics in my notation nor fingering and pedalling as I prefer to leave these to the discretion of the individual pianist. You will never get two piano teachers to agree on these things. I like to give the reader the notes as simply as possible and leave the interpretation up to them. Similarly with voicings - some notes will be held longer instinctively by the pianist than others and do not need to be placed in separate voicings to make them difficult to read. The stride piano left hand often contains 10ths which can be too large a span for some pianists. The solution is to roll them or to just play them as a single bass note on the root of the chord or as an octave. This is a wonderfully joyous piece and I hope you get as much pleasure from learning and playing it as I did arranging it.

We don't know , but Mother Wolf walks along many dangerous paths within her territory . She hunts and kills so she can survive and keep her young with her . She devoted herself to her pups and protects them, being careful not to spoil them . They will need to learn to face danger, too. In all she does, Mother Wolf is loyal, intuitive and endures with great strength. I wonder if we can live at Peace with Mother Wolf and with each other? I pray we can and will ! Yiling Huang .

It constantly amazes me how many outstanding composer/pianists there are out there - especially in relation to the few who are highly (commercially) successful within this broad genre. I would say that Active Imagination definitely belongs near the top of the heap. Isadar’s style is original, and his pianism is excellent. He lists his inspirations as Liz Story, Keith Jarrett, and Bill Evans, and I can hear traces of all three in his playing, but find his composing and playing styles to be uniquely his own.<br> <br> The first three tracks are lively and upbeat (“Active Imagination”, “Throwing the Dice”, and “Where the Wild Things Are”) with an easy, jazzy, improvised feel. Isadar’s cover of Liz Story’s “Wedding Rain” is wonderful - this is a piece I often work on with my advanced students, and everything about Isadar’s interpretation of the piece seems right without being a carbon-copy of Liz’s recording.<br> <br> “Feu Follet (the ‘spook’ light’)” has a nice, easy flow with a strong sense of mystery; it also has an unusual rhythm that lightens the mood and adds a bounce. “Uncertainty” is cooler and more aloof, but gorgeous in its flowing introspection - that it ends with a major chord, feels like the soul-searching has had positive results. “Love Chaconne” is the closing track, and is the longest and most abstract piece on the CD. The left hand plays a repeated pattern while the right hand goes off in several different directions (one of the primary characteristics of a “chaconne”). Beautiful in its simplicity, this is the only track that seems to contain an element of pain and sorrow, but never dissolves into melodrama.<br> <br> Active Imagination is excellent from start to finish and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes solo piano with substance and complexity, but is still accessible, melodic, and rhythmic. Bravo amundo!<br> <br> Active Imagination Sheet Music Collection is the companion songbook to Isadar’s 1999 CD release, Active Imagination. The CD was one of my favorites for the year when I reviewed it for the print version of “Wind and Wire” magazine, so I was really looking forward to the sheet music! Transcribed note-for-note by David Shenton of ShentonMusic.com (I proofed about half of the book, so I can attest to how accurate it is!), it is up to you to make the music sound as close to the CD as you want or to interpret the music and make your own statements with it.<br> <br> One thing that really stands out about this collection is how much FUN it is to play. The rhythms are interesting and catchy, and the mood in several of the songs is playful and upbeat. This is especially true with the title song, “Throwing the Dice,” “Where the Wild Things Are,” and “Feu Follet (the ‘spook’ light).” “Waiting,” “Love Chaconne,” and “Uncertainty” are slower, more introspective, and a bit moody, making this a sheet music collection that contains a variety of moods and styles. The only piece missing from the book is Liz Story’s “Wedding Rain,” but the sheet music for that song is available in some of Ms. Story’s own collections.<br> <br> Early-advanced players should have no trouble with this music. The timing on some of the songs is a little bit tricky, but if you count it as you are learning it, it will fall into place.<br> <br> If you haven’t heard the CD, check it out, too!
