Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012713 Composed by Monica Bergo. Contemporary. Score. 10 pages. Moni Bergo #5742995. Published by Moni Bergo (A0.1012713). Music and song composed by me ALL AS BEFORE Tired flower bends the head photos in carved marble sad smell of the past along your tree-lined avenue how much peace in this place where you stand hidden cobwebs on your time and the scent of regret while I touch your beautiful face I ask myself who decided that your time would stop and that for you all would be over I, minstrel of my time, tell a thousand stories chronicles written in pencil real-life stories story now finished my fingers still drive, find notes and then the enchantment to disperse them in the wind there was a king in love, by a bewitched spell, with the madwoman his queen and everything comes back as before there tucked away in a corner There is a pathetic clown Look closer: it’s a little girl and everything comes back as before You clown what would you do? You want to approach the king and then you want to tell him of her polluted heart but him, he does not want to be touched and you have to amuse her smile and do not tire continue your ... dance ... in the void and silence suspended in time for your queen and everything comes back as before before your leap do you want to fly high mixed-up Icarus you have fallen into emptiness the beating of the heart makes too much noise rumbles here within into emptiness and silence no, do not love me, now or ever and hang on till the ultimate pain she'll pressure you and insinuate herself into your mind and end by doing you harm but I invisible to your eyes and I want to hug you, you do not want I would like to tell you what you do not know of me and then on swings of fantasy my hand close to yours we'll soar to the heights where she is not there if you want I will reinvent myself for you And I may please you ,I know but with your eyes you’ve already answered me and hidden I'll go .. The winter does not end the cold seems eternal here the sun dies ,effaces itself and then disappears Once upon a time there was or still is, who knows a minstrel that no longer has a court and he belongs to nobody, and no one will stop him while closing the door ,the king will delete him abracadabra here in my Kingdom nothing caresses, no kiss of goodby my name in history was written in pencil to be able to delete from a faded page the mind has its woodworm and you can not heal it past, present and she who reigns everywhere pages of your life flowing through my fingers for a king, tired and sick, who has not had a happy ending the spell is broken and now the veil has fallen regret makes its way into him and the minstrel would approach him puppet in love ,now disconnected from your wires seek your child and there is nothing like before there is the sunset in your eyes but I'm here by your side a daddy and his little girl and there is nothing like before .... ..... the be.

It has certainly changed its name.Musically, this last piece has a certain tango aura.<br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> Why eleven pieces and not more? The truth is that - incredibly as it mayseem - I didn't find any place called "Twelve" something. Yes thereare such names in other languages, but I wanted to keep some consistency. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.972647 Composed by James Siddons. Arranged by James Siddons Music and Writings. 20th Century,Blues,Concert,Jazz,Spiritual. Score. 12 pages. James Siddons Music and Writings #4350581. Published by James Siddons Music and Writings (A0.972647). About the Sonata Hymnica Series Program Note Composer James Siddons draws on the ethos of American rural hymns and spirituals to create evocations of the deeper, larger meaning of familiar church melodies. These sonatas for piano solo explore these deeper meanings in a variety of contemporary musical influences, while keeping in mind the acoustics of small rural churches of the late nineteenth century, with wooden floors and walls, high ceilings, and dimensions determined by local builders who knew how to shape a room for excellent acoustics in an age of no electricity and no microphones. These sonatas are but partly about the specific melodies and words, and mostly about their meaning in spiritual contemplation . . . and the piano, resonating, reverberant, sometimes whispering---as a sacred harp. Although these sonatas have no specific titles, the first sonata may be thought of as the Prayer Sonata, the second as the Travel Sonata, as in a spiritual journey, and the third sonata is about our greatest fear, that of being alone and without God. Sonata Hymnica No. 3 draws on two melodies from the African-American experience. One, Were You There (When They Crucified My Lord)? was first published in 1899 in W. E. Barton’s Old Plantation Hymns but existed earlier as a folk hymn. It became the first spiritual to be included in a major hymnal, The Hymnal 1940 of the Episcopal Church in the U.S.A. Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child was sung by the Jubilee Singers of Fisk University from 1870 on, and was published in the Rev. Dr. Barton’s Old Plantation Hymns in 1899. Performance Note The pianist must keep in mind that these sonatas are about playing the piano as much as playing a composition. Musical effects characteristic of the piano and descriptive of the memory in American culture are the substances of these piano solos. Touch is important: in many places, several dynamics are called for on the same beat. Duration --- . Sonata Hymnica No. 3 --- 9 minutes. About the Composer Composer, musicologist, and pianist James Siddons studied composition with Dika Newlin, a protégé of Arnold Schoenberg, and electronic music with Merrill Ellis, founder of the electronic music program at the University of North Texas, where he also earned a PhD in musicology. After a year at the University of London, where he studied musical analysis at King’s College and electronic music at Goldsmiths’ College, Siddons spent two years in Japan as a research scholar at Tokyo University of Arts, participating in the Ethnomusicology Seminar of Fumio Koizumi. Siddons has also studied theology and liturgy at the Duke University Divinity School. In addition to books and articles on contemporary music and music in Japan, Siddons was written compositions in many genres. Recordings of his piano performances are available at online streaming services. His website is www.JamesSiddons.com His performing rights organization is ASCAP.

Etude in C, Le Couppey-Nolte
Piano solo
Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987083 Composed by Eric Paul Nolte …
(+)
Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987083 Composed by Eric Paul Nolte and Felix Le Couppey. Arranged by Eric Paul Nolte. Contemporary,Instructional. Score. 5 pages. Eric Paul Nolte #1954995. Published by Eric Paul Nolte (A0.987083). This piece is a free adaptation and a complete reworking of a study by Felix Le Couppey (1811-1887), from his L'Agilité, Opus 20, 25 Progressive Studies for Mechanism and Light Touch. In its original form, this study was a charming little piece of musical fluff. But getting it up to speed reduced me to tears! It also gave me an epiphany of immense power that transformed my technique. Suddenly I could play faster than I had ever thought possible, and I could do so with a thrilling ease! This epiphany emerged from the spluttering frustration I felt over my inability to play these sixteenth notes at Le Couppey's metronome marking of 144. It dawned on me that I couldn’t play fast enough because I was tripping over my own fingers when I used the overly articulated technique of moving the fingers by the lift, throw, relax method. This superfluous motion creates an impenetrable barrier, a speed wall, as does playing legato scales by passing the thumb under the palm, when shifting hand position up and down the keyboard. So I found another way-which I’ve since learned was known to every pianist who ever achieved prodigious speed. Here’s how to bring this piece up to speed with ease: Be sure to practice this piece with each hand alone. For each group of sixteenth notes, gently place the four fingers down simultaneously, to get the feel. Think of your arm, from elbow to fingertips, as something like a kitchen utensil, such as a spatula. Moving your right arm as a unit, place your finger tips down into the key bed, depressing all four notes at once, as a block chord. Make sure that all the fingers remain stiff (not rigid with tension, but just stiff enough to resist collapsing upwards.) Slowly lift and then play each group by placing all the fingers down with a rotation of your forearm, calm and relaxed, with the fingers rolling through the notes at the speed of a brief snare drum roll: Rrrrip! To rip through this group of notes like this takes no more effort than to place those four fingers down, calmly, all at once! Then, with a quick shift up or down the keyboard to get into position for the next group, that’s the whole trick for playing such passages with astonishing speed and ease! It takes time and effort to get the knack here, but the result can be transformative and thrilling! As for my adaptation of this study, I believe it offers intermediate advanced players the chance to enjoy a great leap in technique like the one I experienced, and also offers a piece of music that one might not blush to play outside the practice room-perhaps bringing it at least into the living room for a soirée, if not into the concert hall. To make this adaptation, I wrote a grumbly bass line with lungs, and nice fat chords to flesh out most of the skinny little triads that accompany the original study’s fast passages. I added a brooding, chromatic introduction that features as a melody the accompanimental figure of a broken triad that Le Couppey wrote a few times on the second page, in various inversions. I employed this broken chord figure several more times in both hands, and also added a little coda, sprinkled with sparkle. Playing time is about 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030831 Composed by Michael C. Brown. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score. 23 pages. Michael C. Brown #4051. Published by Michael C. Brown (A0.1030831). This piece celebrates the life and mourns the loss of my granddaughter, Paisley Gladys Hogan, who was but 2 months old when she was called to Heaven. These are the words I wrote just before her funeral.... I. The Presence - She was here. I held her the day she was born. I held her and watched her smile at me less than 24 hours before she departed. She only knew love. No one around her ever showed her anything else that humanity had to offer; like hatred, heartache, pain, control, or anger. II. The Shock - She feels a Hand beckon her to leave her mortal coil, and she enters into a world we cannot yet reach.. With no one home, her former body ceases to wake. The unimaginable has happened and we struggle to reverse it. Finally, it becomes clear that we cannot. She sees us cry and she wonders what is happening. Having never known sorrow, she only sees that love didn't cause this response. She wants to comfort us with the love she knows, but we do not yet sense it. III. The Questions - One word has confounded mankind from its creation; Why? We have never found an acceptable answer. We ask, Why did this happen? and What did I do? and What didn't we do right? and Why couldn't it have been me? among others. We only know that her absence has carved holes in our hearts shaped like her. She tries to tell us, You can still love me. I just cannot be seen by you now. It does not mean your love cannot make me happy. I still want it. I still feel it. Please feel my love for you. IV. Letting Go - The day comes to bid farewell to the vehicle by which she came to us. We struggle to cope that we will see her face no more except in pictures. Because of the brevity of her life, memories are few to relive, but to do so is to recall happiness. In sorrow, we return her to the earth. All that is left is to return to recall, to talk to her, to bring flowers and other gifts, and to await the day we follow her. V. Remembering - The days and years follow. Normalcy slowly sets back into our lives. The holes in our hearts will never fully heal. But the salve of her love and her memory help to soothe the ache. We still return to where we placed her mortal home, where we laugh and cry in tandem, where our hearts ache to fill the void left by her departure. It will never really get better, but it will become easier for her love to dull the sting of her absence. VI. The Reunion - One by one, we will feel the same Hand bid us to come. The same events will befall those left behind each time. One by one, she will greet us as we reunite with her. We marvel at how she has stayed with us as we stay to comfort those we had just bidden farewell. The rest cannot be imagined by we that remain..........

Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.1069957 Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Pop. Accompaniment. Duration 230. Boothe Publishing #4633659. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.1069957). After our first child arrived I realized that I wasn't free any longer. My mind returned to the good old days when I was free to daydream and do whatever it was that I wanted to do. When I was younger I had wanted to grow up to be a bird, a frog, an ant or a baby bee, but I had grown up to be a man, and now I had a wife and a baby son. Things were not the way I had imagined they would be. Now I had to go to work every day to pay the bills, and I didn't even like my job. It felt like I was bound in chains that were unbreakable. There seemed to be no way out, but there was a way out. All I had to do was accept that life had changed, that I had changed, and I needed to make the best of it. After making that decision life got better and better. I realized that the true plan for life was to create our own homes and families, and that sooner or later we will all return to our heavenly home. I love being home, and at the homes of my siblings, friends, and parents. Home is not really a physical place so much as it is where we are surrounded by people who love us. For me, being home is being where I am loved and accepted.

Written in 1965, Friday Night proved that ragtime was alive and well, even if the ragtime era officially ended in the early 1920's. The composition's syncopated rhythms and thick harmonic textures immediately captivate your attention, drawing you into a whirlwind of musical complexity. It's a delightful puzzle for the ears, where every note and accent is meticulously placed, creating a rhythmic tapestry that's as intricate as it is engaging. What truly sets this ragtime work apart is its ability to seamlessly blend tradition with innovation. While firmly rooted in the ragtime genre's rich heritage, it fearlessly pushes the boundaries, introducing unexpected harmonies and surprising twists that keep you eagerly anticipating what's next. It's a testament to the composer's profound respect for the past and his daring vision for the future. The final page of the sheet music contains special program notes by Donald Ashwander.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818282 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by edited by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Classical. Score. 17 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #4967137. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818282). Franz Joseph Haydn was born in 1732 in a small village in Austria, near the Hungarian border. ♫ His father was a wheelwright and a leader of the town. His mother had been a cook in the palace of a Count. His father had taught himself to play the harp. His family was musical and often sang together (16 brothers and sisters). His father saw that he was extremely musical and that he couldn’t get the education he needed in his little village. When he was 6 years old, he was sent to the home of a relative about 7 miles away to study to be a musician. He never lived with his parents again. ♫ In 1752 he was employed by Count Karl Joseph Morzin, leading the Count’s small orchestra and writing the first of his symphonies. ♫ In 1760 he married Maria Keller. They had a very unhappy marriage, producing no children. ♫ In 1760 Count Paul Andre Esterhazy (one of the wealthiest and most important nobles in the Austrian empire) hired him as assistant director of music. In 1766 at the age of 34, Prince Nikolaus Esterhazy appointed Haydn his Director of Music. His job was divided between the Esterhazy palace in Austria their palace across the border Hungary. ♫ Haydn dedicated Piano Sonata 40 to Princess Marie Esterhazy. He worked for the Esterhazys for the next 28 years, writing hundreds of pieces of music for the prince. After about 15 years, he signed a new contract allowing him to write music for other customers. Haydn’s reputation grew to international fame. ♫ Haydn wrote 104 Symphonies. Not unlike George Washington, nicknamed the “Father of our Countryâ€, yet had no children, Haydn is known as the “Father of the Symphony.†♫ Napoleon captured Vienna in 1809. Napoleon, himself, ordered an honor guard be placed at Haydn’s home where Haydn lay dying. ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit this screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1254257 By Gabriel Lagos. By Gabriel Lagos. Arranged by Gabriel Lagos. 19th Century,Classical,March,Romantic Period. Score. 5 pages. Lagos Music #847828. Published by Lagos Music (A0.1254257). The third movement is done! Plenty of crunchy diminished and augmented fifth intervals in this work to give it some darkness. I also chose to keep the register fairly low. The feeling I'm trying to capture: despair; knowing that everyone's fate is to fade into the wind and there's nothing anyone can do about it. There's nothing wrong with that; I've come to a place where I no longer fear death, but it's a reality of life that, at times, is impossible to ignore. There is a positive side, though. For one, the contrasting section is in A flat major and picks up tempo briefly! Before inevitably falling back into F minor... Also, on a funny note, the entire main theme is based off of an old song I wrote for my high school rock band (in like, 2004-ish?), using a commonly used chord progression: I, VI, iv, V7. This was when I was first learning to write music but I remember always thinking it would sound good as a funeral march. The song was called One More Life and the lyrics were about shedding the old, beginning anew, asking the universe for one more life. It feels good to finally have written this movement, though. I hope you enjoy it :)Thank you,Gabe.

Michael Butkus-Bomier #3603893. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862661). There just is no denying the virtuostic demands of this Horowitz showpiece. What editing HAS been done is to remove and replace most of the flying LH octaves, using just the low or the high note, leaving the shape of the line intact, but eliminating all the leaping about. There are both American and European editions of this piece which are so laden with graphic information outside the realm of pitch initiation such that it is nigh onto impossible just to read this thing, given its key signature, which would NOT, as some might feel, have benefited from being transliterated into Eb minor. So, this is the best GateWay can do to make this WAY COOL piece at least accessible. Note that there are ZERO 10ths in the piece, and the octaves, whilst persistent, are as wide as you will have to span. Pedal it like a wild horse! MBB.

The meaning of this song is that if we right something down like a message or film tape so on you can then hide it good well sometime in the future the item will still be there as long as it is not destroyed thus it will travel in the future the best way is on paper writings or stone tablets because in the future they may have or may not have the same technology as we do today for videos or tapes so on to see it or hear the message if someone in the future finds it off course it would have to be preserved from things like weather that can destroy it well the old saints preached the gospel everywhere but also wrote it down and hid it well well by miracle by praying GOD preserved it and now we got the holy bible this is proven that there was no way in the world that this holy bible could have survived preserved all these years unless GOD preserved it which he did this is the story of how the holy bible survived the time they found it they found it in different books lots of them in different places of the world this proves there must be a GOD out there who preserved it the HOLY BIBLE thus the song says s o s reaching the future thus it means as i said above

Published by Gavin Koh (A0.1415941). The Nuovo series is a new series of music where I take the bass line of an existing piece and create a new melodic line for it. I have taken Mozart's Rondo alla Turca (the final movement from Piano Sonata No. 11, K.331) and replaced the melody for the entire Rondo. If you look closely, the entire bass line is intact as well as most of the dynamics. If the music still sounds distinctly like the original (especially the coda section), well, that was intentional; I didn't want this first piece to be too different.

Notturno in Gb Major of Ottorino Respighi

(+)
Composed by Respighi, O. Arranged by Michael Bomier. Concert, Romantic Period, Standards. Score. 9 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #3622741. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier
Notturno is simply "nocturne" with an Italian aroma. Bella Vita, eh! Many concert works in the standard repertoire are placed in keys with five flats of sharps or more, as this piece illustrates. The reason for this is not mere "virtuosity" or even intellectual hubris. The black-keys afford an access to many kinds of gestures that alternate between the black and white keys, for two hands, in a way that placement in C, F or G simply do not provide. Having the hands in and up over the black keys affords, as in this case, an easy alternation between an upper and lower hand gesture, without having to be in the same keyplane. Why are the black keys easier for this, you might ask, since they are ALSO in a uniform plane? The white keys have no diatonic gaps, but the black keys, forming a pentatonic scale with two gaps, does indeed afford just such a place to place these sorts of piano-drumming gestures. The main distinguishing feature of our setting here is the elimination of this top melody tone, which dies so fast, and yet in standard editions gets smeared across the top of many lines like excess frosting that has already been eaten. Our edition shows when each gesture begins, and does NOT emphasize how long these drawn-out single tones last, over the accompaniment. Spellings are better, and pedaling is included throughout, rather than left to laissez-faire. 10ths are often used here, and are shown are arpeggiandi throughout. The MIDI file playback here does not really convey how much rubato can be applied to this piece, in a most musical and entertaining way, as the composer intended. MBB.

Piano Solo - Advanced - Digital Download Composed by Isadar. Contemporary Classical, Neo- Classical, Activities and Games, Recital, New Age. Sheet Music Single. 9 pages. Published by Mainya Music Publishing (BMI)
Contains:<br> "Throwing The Dice"<br> - taken from the Isadar solo piano collections, "Active Imagination / Reconstructed" (also available on SMP) <br> <br> Sounds like: Liz Story's ("Things With Wings"), Philip Aaberg, George Winston, early Windham Hill solo piano artists<br> <br> Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording<br> <br> Note: A slightly different version of this composition is also heard on the Isadar album, "Reconstructed" (Produced by Will Ackerman)<br> <br> Album & Songbook Review by: Kathy Parsons<br> <br> I love this CD! It constantly amazes me how many outstanding composer/pianists there are out there - especially in relation to the few who are highly (commercially) successful within this broad genre. I would say that Active Imagination definitely belongs near the top of the heap. Isadar’s style is original, and his pianism is excellent. He lists his inspirations as Liz Story, Keith Jarrett, and Bill Evans, and I can hear traces of all three in his playing, but find his composing and playing styles to be uniquely his own.<br> <br> The first three tracks are lively and upbeat (“Active Imagination”, “Throwing the Dice”, and “Where the Wild Things Are”) with an easy, jazzy, improvised feel. The meter changes are fascinating, and the bluesy beat on “Wild Things” is infectious.<br> <br> From there, the mood seems to gradually darken and become more introspective. “Waiting” is a beautiful, flowing mood piece full of questions and a lovely melody line. Isadar’s cover of Liz Story’s “Wedding Rain” is wonderful - this is a piece I often work on with my advanced students, and everything about Isadar’s interpretation of the piece seems right without being a carbon-copy of Liz’s recording.<br> <br> “Feu Follet (the ‘spook’ light’)” has a nice, easy flow with a strong sense of mystery; it also has an unusual rhythm that lightens the mood and adds a bounce. “Uncertainty” is cooler and more aloof, but gorgeous in its flowing introspection - that it ends with a major chord, feels like the soul-searching has had positive results. “Love Chaconne” is the closing track, and is the longest and most abstract piece on the CD. The left hand plays a repeated pattern while the right hand goes off in several different directions (one of the primary characteristics of a “chaconne”). Beautiful in its simplicity, this is the only track that seems to contain an element of pain and sorrow, but never dissolves into melodrama.<br> <br> Active Imagination is excellent from start to finish and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes solo piano with substance and complexity, but is still accessible, melodic, and rhythmic. Bravo amundo!<br> <br> Active Imagination Sheet Music Collection is the companion songbook to Isadar’s 1999 CD release, Active Imagination. The CD was one of my favorites for the year when I reviewed it for the print version of “Wind and Wire” magazine, so I was really looking forward to the sheet music! Transcribed note-for-note by David Shenton of ShentonMusic.com (I proofed about half of the book, so I can attest to how accurate it is!), it is up to you to make the music sound as close to the CD as you want or to interpret the music and make your own statements with it.<br> <br> One thing that really stands out about this collection is how much FUN it is to play. The rhythms are interesting and catchy, and the mood in several of the songs is playful and upbeat. This is especially true with the title song, “Throwing the Dice,” “Where the Wild Things Are,” and “Feu Follet (the ‘spook’ light).” “Waiting,” “Love Chaconne,” and “Uncertainty” are slower, more introspective, and a bit moody, making this a sheet music collection that contains a variety of moods and styles. The only piece missing from the book is Liz Story’s “Wedding Rain,” but the sheet music for that song is available in some of Ms. Story’s own collections.<br> <br> Early-advanced players should have no trouble with this music. The timing on some of the songs is a little bit tricky, but if you count it as you are learning it, it will fall into place.<br> <br> If you haven’t heard the CD, check it out, too! This book is available here from SMP, isadar.com and amazon.com. Highly recommended!<br> <br> Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more...<br> <br> Also available as sheet music in physical songbooks, digital downloads, as well as software for Yamaha Disklavier player-pianos.<br> <br> For more information, visit his website at: http://www.isadar.com

Contains:<br> "Waiting"<br> - taken from the Isadar solo piano collections, "Active Imagination / Reconstructed" (also available on SMP)<br> <br> Sounds like: Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Vince Guaraldi, Liz Story, George Winston, early Windham Hill solo piano artists<br> <br> Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording<br> <br> Note: A slightly different version of this composition is also heard on the Isadar album, "Reconstructed" (Produced by Will Ackerman)<br> <br> Album & Songbook Review by: Kathy Parsons<br> <br> I love this CD!

With this sheet music, you can play “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” on piano!<br> <br> The full melody is included in the piano part, so it makes for a perfect instrumental (piano solo) cover.<br> <br> The famous duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside" was written in 1944 by Frank Loesser, who regularly performed the song at celebrity parties with his wife, Lynn Garland.<br> <br> In 1949, the song appeared in the film "Neptune's Daughter", and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song!<br> <br> The song is clearly winter-themed (talking about the blizzard outside!), but it doesn’t mention anything holiday-related. Anyway, the song is generally considered a Christmas song.<br> <br> Of course, the song has been covered by countless artists since the 40s.<br> <br> Some of the most memorable recordings include such fantastic duos as Louis Armstrong and Velma Middleton, Ray Charles and Betty Carter, Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton, Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles!<br> <br> “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” also appeared in an episode of Glee (“A Very Glee Christmas”, Season 2, Episode 10), where it is performed by members of the Glee Cast (Blaine Anderson/Darren Criss and Kurt Hummel/Chris Colfer).<br> <br> Time for you to play it!<br> <br> <br> Here are the full lyrics to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”:<br> <br> [VERSE 1]<br> <br> I really can't stay (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> I've got to go away (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> This evening has been (been hoping that you'd drop in)<br> <br> So very nice (i'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)<br> <br> My mother will start to worry (beautiful what's your hurry?)<br> <br> My father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar)<br> <br> So really I'd better scurry (beautiful please don't hurry)<br> <br> But maybe just a half a drink more (put some records on while I pour)<br> <br> The neighbors might think (baby, it's bad out there)<br> <br> Say what's in this drink? (no cabs to be had out there)<br> <br> I wish I knew how (your eyes are like starlight now)<br> <br> To break this spell (i'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)<br> <br> I ought to say, no, no, no sir (mind if I move in closer?)<br> <br> At least I'm gonna say that I tried (what's the sense in hurtin' my pride?)<br> <br> I really can't stay (oh baby don't hold out)<br> <br> But baby, it's cold outside<br> <br> [VERSE 2]<br> <br> I simply must go (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> The answer is no (but baby, it's cold outside)<br> <br> Your welcome has been(how lucky that you dropped in)<br> <br> So nice and warm (look out the window at this dawn)<br> <br> My sister will be suspicious (gosh your lips look delicious)<br> <br> My brother will be there at the door (waves upon the tropical shore)<br> <br> My maiden aunts mind is vicious (gosh your lips are delicious)<br> <br> But maybe just a cigarette more (never such a blizzard before)<br> <br> I've gotta get home(but baby, you'd freeze out there)<br> <br> Say lend me a coat(it's up to your knees out there)<br> <br> You've really been grand (i thrill when you touch my hand)<br> <br> But don't you see?
