The King, by Dennis McCorkle, is a contemporary pop-rock musical of the first two kings of Israel, Saul ben Kish and David ben Jesse and explores the contrasting lives and outcome of each man’s choices in life. [1 Samuel 16:11 - And Samuel said to Jesse: ‘Are here all your children?’ And he said: ‘There remains yet the youngest, and, behold, he tends the sheep.’ And Samuel said unto Jesse: ‘Send and fetch him; for we will not sit down till he come here.’] [Psalm 23 Sacred Melody of David. YAHWEH is My Shepherd I shall not want] SAMUEL leaves SAUL and goes to the house of Jesse in Bethlehem where he chooses DAVID and anoints him as king. DAVID returns to the field and his sheep, trying to understand the meaning of the previous events [Pastures of Green – David and Ensemble]. The next morning, his father Jessie sends one of his servants to ask DAVID to take provisions to his brothers who are on the front line with SAUL engaged in a fierce battle with the Philistines. David leaves the sheep with the servant and goes off to the battlefield. Also included with your order is our new 20 page catalog of over 150 titles at no additional charge.

He sings of the longing to see them again and whether it was all worth it. The song is for a male tenor voice (the MP3 is the composer's voice and only there as a demo to show you how the song goes). Schott Music - Digital #Q19040. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q19040). English.Gavin Bryars has returned once again to the poetry of George Bruce and the 'Five Songs from Northern Seas' are dedicated to his memory in his centenary year. Bryars describes the five evocative poems: They focus on universal qualities - of man's relationship to a harsh environment, to images of coastal life and of the sea, to that resilience and independence of spirit that Glenn Gould identified in The Idea of North and which I admire unreservedly - an acceptance, and even relishing, of the concept of solitude as something positive..

Tenor Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1492638 Composed by Thomas Moore. Arranged by Alex Nunes Rodrigues. Folk. 2 pages. Alex Rodrigues #1069316. Published by Alex Rodrigues (A0.1492638). The Last Rose of Summer is a work deeply rooted in Irish culture, originally penned as a poem by the renowned poet and composer Thomas Moore in 1805. Moore, regarded as Ireland’s national poet, was inspired by an 'Old Blush' rose while staying at Jenkinstown Castle in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The poem was published as part of his Irish Melodies collection between 1807 and 1834, and later set to music by fellow Irishman John Stevenson. The song gained widespread popularity and was incorporated into the opera Martha by the German composer Friedrich von Flotow, which premiered in 1847 in Vienna. This sheet music has been adapted for voice and piano, preserving the original melody true to the composition by Moore and Stevenson. The piano arrangement has been simplified to provide an accessible experience for music teachers who, even without extensive piano skills, wish to accompany their students. This arrangement maintains the melodic and emotional essence of the piece, offering a version that honors its traditional nuances while making it approachable for beginner to intermediate musicians. The Last Rose of Summer captures the essence of melancholy and the passage of time—universal themes reflected in the farewell to the last vestige of a vibrant summer. The melody, paired with Moore’s poetry, evokes a profound sense of loss and longing, with the solitary rose serving as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of life and the seasons. The simplicity and beauty of this piece have made it a classic, both in literature and music, perpetuating Irish tradition and touching the hearts of listeners worldwide.

Published by Alex Rodrigues (A0.1492626).
