Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813707 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474529. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813707). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Clarinet Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but if you are considering using this selection for church services in which a congregation may sing along, I would suggest that you look for the arrangements of either I Vow to Thee, My Country, O God, Beyond All Praising, O Spirit All Embracing or Thaxted, also by Regis Bookshar. They are all based on the same excerpt from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Clarinet Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Jupiter based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gusta.

Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796738 By Justin Timberlake. By Johan Schuster, Justin Timberlake, Max Martin, and Shellback. Arranged by Gary D. Belshaw (ASCAP). Dance,Pop. 45 pages. DR GARY D BELSHAW #4302777. Published by DR GARY D BELSHAW (A0.796738). For Advanced Intermediate Clarinet Choir. 40 pages, including one sample part page for display here. Duration: 3 minutes. This uptempo, disco- and soul-pop number with punk influences debuted as Justin Timberlake's fifth U. S. No. 1 single and is one of the top 20 longest running No. 1 singles on the Adult Contemporary chart. This arrangement spreads the almost uncontrollable joy among all the players in your ensemble, and its appeal will be to young and old alike. Its Advanced Intermediate difficulty will be sufficient enough to wow and yet accessible enough for an audience filled with pop-music lovers and arts aficionados alike. An optional cut from Rehearsals C to I makes this an ideal encore on a recruiting or publicity tour: short, but...wow!Thank you for considering this work; your reviews of my work are really important to me. Follow Gary D.Belshaw Music on Facebook and Twitter (@GaryDBelshawMus). A like on this Sheet Music Plus page will be deeply appreciated.Take pride in your copy of this work. 1. Avoid cheap 20-lb office supply paper. Invest a couple extra bucks in some 22- or 24-lb. paper. 2. Avoid bright white papers: look for beige, tan, or natural paper. 3. Always use a smooth-finish paper stock. 4. One final thought: if you have access to a printer or copier that will take 9 x 12 stock, your pages will be more like traditional printed music in size. Obtaining paper stock with the other elements listed above will result in music sheets that would look startling similar to products from long-established publishing houses.

Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813065 Composed by Traditional French Melodies. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. 22 pages. Regis Bookshar #6096679. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813065). Clarinet Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Burgundian Air/March of the Three Kings, has been arranged for 5 Clarinets by Regis Bookshar. It incorporates two Traditional French melodies into one exciting arrangement, which, I'm certain, will entertain both performers and audiences alike. It is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for Christmas concerts and church services but could be performed anytime and anywhere. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (22 pages). It begins with a Burgundian Air, played by a solo instrument. The melody is then played by two instruments in harmony before the rest of the ensemble joins in. This is followed by the March of the Three Kings, a Provencal melody (La Marche Des Rois Mages) which dates from the 13th century and recalls the Three Kings of the Christmas story. The peasants probably sang and danced to this tune, even perhaps honoring their own folk heroes, the French dukes, dressed in their shining armor and carrying brilliant banners, as they marched off to the Crusades. Georges Bizet utilized this tune as a farandole, or stately dance, in his incidental music for Alphonse Daudet's play L'Arlesienne (The Girl from Arles). There is a fugal section in which each instrument enters, playing an embellished version of the tune before concluding the arrangement. Also available are other settings of these two Traditional French melodies for a variety of instrumental ensemble as well as numerous other arrangements in a variety of styles. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. You may find something else which might interest you as well. I'm certain that students will enjoy playing this arrangement.

I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of O God, Beyond All Praising based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, will continue to ent.

Regis Bookshar #6480789. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813797). O Spirit All-Embracing (Thaxted) (Bb) (Clarinet Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of O Spirit All-Embracing, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. However, if you are looking to perform this selection for concerts or recitals, I would suggest you look for the arrangement of Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets), also by Regis Bookshar. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Clarinet Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,Contra Alto Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764956 Composed by Lori Archer Sutherland. Contemporary,Folk,Standards. 50 pages. Lori Archer Sutherland #4597193. Published by Lori Archer Sutherland (A0.764956). For clarinet choir (Eb, 4 Bb, Alto, Bass, Eb Contra, Bb Contra. Alternate Bb parts included for Eb and Alto. Basset horn part included (doubles Alto)).You may print multiple parts as needed for your ensemble. The Monk’s Turned Topsy-Turvy is an original fantasy for clarinet choir, based on the old French-Canadian children’s song, Ah! Si mon moine voulait danser! (Danse, mon moine, danse). The title is a play on words: moine means both monk and spinning top in French. The lyrics speak of persuading mon moine to dance by offering various articles of clothing, such as a hood or cap. After a brief, yet bold, introduction, the piece jumps into a straightforward rendition of the tune. From there, the melody is repeated, bringing in other voices and added flourishes. While the tune starts to repeat a third time, it doesn’t get to finish its full statement. It’s interrupted by a run up through the ensemble into a rollicking 7/8 section. With a rhythmic accompaniment underneath, the jaunty melody begins in the third clarinets. The upper instruments take over briefly in 6/8, then the tune returns to 7/8. After a quick breather, the accompaniment introduces an upward sweep motif. This alternates with the accompaniment pattern heard at the beginning of the 7/8 section. The lower voices then take control, driving downward into a different tonality and mood. An undulating accompaniment sets a dreamlike feel, with different voices quoting fragments of the theme. The accompaniment transfers between voices throughout the section, eventually changing back into a 3/4, then a 2/4 feel, resulting in a transition back to the original feel of the piece. The low voices get the melody, with rhythmic accompaniment and racing runs throughout the other sections. The melody goes a bit topsy-turvy before the group comes together in the descending quarter note motif from the beginning of the piece, bringing us to the coda. There’s one final quote of the opening of the main theme from the low voices, leading to a whirlwind in the first and Eb with accented notes and suspensions underneath. The Eb pipes up with one last comment and the group closes out the piece. Also available for concert band (S0.708971)

Monteverdi - The Fifth Book of Madrigals (1605) - 19. Questi vaghi

Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767258 Composed by Claudio Monteverdi. Arranged by Mike Lyons. Baroque,Renaissance. 62 pages. Lyons Music Services #3121649. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767258). The Fifth book of madrigals starts to see much more development towards operatic style writing, with more songs being strung together to form scenas and with the addition of accompaniment on instruments. Some of these songs can be written by incorporating the accompaniment into the parts for those instruments which are resting, some will require more than a quintet. Certainly as we get into the next three books, reduction to a quintet will become increasingly more difficult, if not impossible. The final song from book 5 shows quite an advance on the previously (relatively) simple writing. Here we have a full SATB ensemble plus a quite detailed continuo. Questi vaghi (These wandering little birds) also has a more complex structure, being, by itself a scena, split into sections by ritornelli which he calls Sinfonias. At this stage, they are by no means substantial enough to be considered preludes or interludes, but merely dances between the sections of the song. Because of this added complexity, I have had to arrange the piece for a 9-part brass choir. There is some overlap and crossover between the continuo and choral parts to accommodate the different groupings needed for each section. The ritornello sections need to be played more lightly and in a skipping style to add contrast between the 'vocal sections'.
