Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1486526). Béla Kéler, a contemporary of famous Johann Strauss jr., was a Hungarian composer, conductor and violin player out of a German-speaking familiy.  His German name was Adalbert Paul von Kéler. During his lifetime he was a successful composer and conductor as well in Austria-Hungary as  also in Germany and several European countries. His Lustspiel (Comedy) Overture op. 73 is probably one of the most known copositions of 139  opus numbers. It was first published in 1872 for symphony orchestra. Today transcriptions for band are more known than the original. This  arrangement is kept in original key and is possibly close to the original. Albert Schwarzmann wrote it for his final concert as chief conductor of the  municipal band of Zirl, Austria and performed it there on 6 April 2024.

It premiered on 18 June 1821 at the Schauspielhaus Berlin and is considered to be the first German  Romantic opera. The overture is in sonata form and may be regarded as a compressed tone poem about the Freischütz story. The arrangement is kept in the  original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed (without Euphonium and Tuba) by Mozarteum Wind  Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their New Year's Concert on 6 January 2008 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in  Salzburg, then again at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2018 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and  broadcasted live by Austrian television. A further repetition at the same event on 6 January 2024 again with live TV, now under the new name Salzburg Wind  Philharmonic underlines the great appreciation for this arrangement shown by the orchestra and conductor. The arrangement of this version premiered  with tenor Nutthaporn Thammathi and Wind Philharmonic Mozarteum Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer on 6 January 2014 in the Grosses Festspielhaus  (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. It  premiered on 2 October 1864 in Pavlovsk near St. Petersburg and was dedicated to the famous Viennese music critic Eduard Hanslick.  This arrangement in the original key of the orchestral version was commissioned by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic, principal conductor  Hansjoerg Angerer and premiered at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2020 at the Grosses Festspielhaus  (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television.  Albert Schwarzmann had to step in at very short notice for the sick Hansjoerg Angerer, who performed this piece at the same event  on 6 January 2024. So he composed Don Carlos first in French, and he  also had to deliver a ballet. Ballo della regina is kept as an interlude in the third act of the opera, which premiered on 11 March 1865 at  Opéra National de Paris. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned by  Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg. Gioacchino Rossini composed the music 1835  originally for solo voice and piano. It is part of his song cycle Les soirées musicales with twelve pieces by various poets. This version was orchestrated and  arranged in the key of A minor as prefered by prominent tenors like Luciano Pavarotti. It was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind  Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2017 at the Grosses Festspielhaus  (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria. The solo part was sung by Thai born tenor Nutthaporn Thammathi.
