He national anthem of Latvia arranged for SymphonyOrchestra.The music and lyrics were written in 1873 by KÄrlis Baumanis, a teacher, who was part of the Young Latvian nationalist movement. It has been speculated that Baumanis may have borrowed part of the lyrics from a popular song which was sung to tune of God Save the Queen, modified them and set them to music of his own. Baumanis's lyrics were different from the modern ones: he used the term Baltics synonymously and interchangeably with Latvia and Latvians, so Latvia was actually mentioned only at the beginning of the first verse. Later the term Latvia was removed and replaced with Baltics to avoid a ban on the song. This has led to the misapprehension that the term Latvia was not part of the song until 1920, when it was chosen as national anthem and the word Baltics was replaced with Latvia.During the annexation of Latvia by the Soviet Union, the singing of Dievs, svÄ“tÄ« Latviju! was banned. The Soviet republic of Latvia had its own anthem. It was written and sung by John Lennon (though credited to Lennon–McCartney) and released on the album Help! in August 1965.Lennon said of the song, That's me in my Dylan period again. I am like a chameleon, influenced by whatever is going on. If Elvis can do it, I can do it. If the Everly Brothers can do it, me and Paul can. Same with Dylan. The song is an early example of John self-reflecting in his writing, which had begun with songs such as I'm a Loser in the summer of 1964. Lennon wrote the song at home, wanting another song for the film Help!. The song is just basically John doing Dylan, Paul McCartney confirmed.The song is similar to a folkish strophic form and uses a Dylanesque acoustic guitar figure in compound duple time, chiefly acoustic accompaniment, no backing voices and light percussion from brushed snare, tambourine and maraca. In 2009, We Will Rock You was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.Other than the last 30 seconds, which contains a guitar solo by May, the song is generally set in a cappella form, using only stomping and clapping as a rhythmic body percussion beat. Love will forgive you everything - the song was written in 1933, the music was composed by Henryk Wars, and the words were written by Julian Tuwim (under the pseudonym Oldlen). The song was a hit in interwar Poland and remains so to this day. The song was written especially for the film The Spy in the Mask, which enjoyed a record attendance in cinemas. It was sung by Hanka Ordonówna and soon the song became her artistic showcase. Later, Ordonówna often resembled a song in the MaÅ‚e Qui Pro Quo theater. The piece performed by Ordonówna was recorded on the Syrena-Electro label, which was very popular at the time. An aubade is the twin of a night-time serenade; an aubade is a love song originating amongst the medieval Provençal troubadours, depicting the morning departure between two lovers. An aubade is a song in honor of the slow cosmic percolation of a late summer morning. On a personal level, the composer is reminded of his own experiences camping in Northern Canada as a young man–a simpler and less demanding time. This piece formally begins the series I composed during the Covid-19 quarantine conditions of 2020, to serve as potential contemporary preludes for each of Ludwig van Beethoven’s nine symphonies–his two hundred and fiftieth anniversary was this year!–though they can all stand on their own on any program. Oh, Bright Dawn of May) is the official National anthem of Montenegro adopted in 2004. Before becoming the anthem, it was a popular folk song of the Montenegrins, with many variations of its text. The oldest one is dated to the 2nd half of the 19th century, known as Oh, Bright Dawn of Heroism, oh!, a popular Montenegrin folk song.It was played in public for the first time in 1863 in the national theater in Belgrade. It was a component song of the Battle of Grahovo or blood feud in Montenegro (Бој на Грахову или крвна оÑвета у Црној Гори) heroic play in three parts. It is unknown if the text’s authors are also the play’s, namely the following Montenegrin composer/writers: the father of Marko Car Jovan Car and an unknown Obrad Vitković. The play and the Montenegrin folk song was also played/sung in the National Theater again in 1870 and 1876. Its first record in Montenegro itself dates to 1887, when it was included into the regular school program of Montenegrin national songs for pupils in the 3rd grade. It was reconfirmed in the teacher’s plan for Montenegrin schools of 1888, which speculates that it must have been an established folk song for decades by then.Sekule Drljević, party strongman of a minor political party which was active in the Yugoslavian Kingdom in Montenegro known as the Montenegrin Federalist Party, rewrote the text and published it in 1937 in the book of then’s Croatian writer of Montenegrin origins Savić Marković Å tedimlija known as Crvena Hrvatska (Red Croatia), which confounded the thesis not of a Serb ethnic origin of the Montenegrins, which was the dominant one back then, but rather from the Croats. Its name was Eternal Ours… (VjeÄna naÅ¡a). When Nikola Hercigonja wrote down Oh, Bright Dawn of May shortly after WWII ended after 1945, he erroneously concluded that Drljević was the original wholesale author of this song, which also led to its considerable decline in popularity as a Montenegrin folk song altogether.The song survived until today under various names as a popular Montenegrin folk song under the name Oh, Bright Dawn of May (Oj svijetla majska zoro). Variations on a Theme: Wayfinder was written in response to what felt like a general lack of more showy, almost cinematic tunes available publicly for full orchestra, at least ones that weren't arrangements of other movie songs. Wayfinder provides a song that's both fun to play and listen to, while also offering a fair challenge to younger high school orchestra groups to make sure they are listening to other members of the orchestra and keeping their parts balanced between them. It is suggested that, when rehearsing this piece, one emphasize a focus on listening carefully, as well a careful balance between parts played staccato and legato, as well as to bring attention to the multiple tempo changes that occur throughout the piece. .
