You Tube and TV news broadcasts are full of videos of joyful home comings of those returning from overseas deployment, but for those who make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, that home coming is very different. This project is dedicated to those who's journey takes them to the home that waits beyond this life. Hopefully they receive as joyous a welcome as those we see in this life, not only by family and friends, but also their fellow brothers and sisters in arms who have made the same journey. Thank you to all who serve and all how have sacrificed so much.

PLEASE NOTE: This download contains only the score. To rent or buy parts for performance, please contact Robert Dusek directly: bob@robertdusek.com. This PDF is formatted to 11x17 (ledger) size.A short symphony: one movement cast in three contrasting sections. Extensve use of percussion and piano seemlessly connect the different sections. The piece begins quite introspectively, but gradually progresses to a heroic conclusion. The writing is very thick, leading to often a cacopheny of sound that can be driving and dramatic.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1198448 By Hines Hines & Dad. By Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick. Arranged by Marek Czekala. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show. Score and parts. 59 pages. Marek Czekala #797590. Published by Marek Czekala (A0.1198448). If I Were a Rich Man is a show tune from the 1964 musical Fiddler on the Roof. It was written by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock. The song is performed by Tevye, the main character in the musical, and reflects his dreams of glory. The title is inspired by a 1902 monologue by Sholem Aleichem in Yiddish, Ven ikh bin Rothschild (Yiddish: װען ×יך בין ר×ָטשילד; lit. “If I were a Rothschildâ€), a reference to the wealth of the Rothschild family, although the content is quite different. The lyric is based in part on passages from Sholem Aleichem’s 1899 short story The Bubble Bursts. Both stories appeared in English in the 1949 collection of stories Tevye's Daughters.WikipediaThis arrangement proves that even with a single cast of wind instruments, a piece can sound great.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023992 Composed by Kyle Wernke. Contemporary,Folk,Holiday,Patriotic. Score and parts. 109 pages. Kyle Wernke Publishing #2121501. Published by Kyle Wernke Publishing (A0.1023992). Commissioned by the Fort Smith Symphony - John Jeter, Conductor John Trumbull (June 6, 1756 - November 10, 1843) is perhaps the most overlooked of the Founding Fathers of The United States. Born and raised in Connecticut, John Trumbull was the son of Jonathan Trumbull (October 12, 1710 - August 17, 1785), Governor of Connecticut from 1769 to 1784, the only Royal Governor to side with the Americans during the Revolutionary War. Trumbull fought in the revolution, witnessing Bunker Hill and using his artistic abilities to sketch the British Works at Boston. Later, he was appointed second personal aide to General Washington, and in June 1776 he served as deputy adjutant-general to General Horatio Gates. Trumbull resigned from the army in 1777 over a dispute about the dating of his commission. In 1780 Trumbull traveled to London to study under Benjamin West: It was West who urged Trumbull to paint small pictures of the War of Independence, the works which would make him famous (he painted around 250 during his lifetime). In September of 1780, Continental troops captured British agent Major John Andre, after news of this reached Great Britain, Trumbull was arrested in retaliation. He was imprisoned for seven months. After the War, Trumbull again traveled to London, and then to Paris. It was here that Trumbull began work on two of the works depicted in this piece. He made sketches for the Surrender of Lord Cornwallis and, with the help of Thomas Jefferson, the US minister to France, he began working on The Declaration of Independence. In addition to paintings depicting the revolution, Trumbull painted numerous portraits, including those of George Washington, George Clinton (Governor of New York), Alexander Hamilton (the source of the $10 bill), and John Adams. I was tasked with composing a piece which would be educational for the students in attendance. I ended up writing a piece that would have educational material both in its musical construction and its subject matter. Trumbull's use of color, especially darker hues, and the structure of his paintings informed the construction of the piece. Three specific paintings influenced the work: The Capture of the Hessisans at the Battle of Trenton, The Declaration of Independence, and The Surrender of Lord Cornwallis. A recurring theme in the work of Trumbull is how the central act is always depicted at the center, with opposing groups on either side. The piece derives its form from this trait, casting the two large battle sections on the outsides, with the central act of the Revolutionary War in the center (The Declaration of Independence). The only percussion in the piece are drums, lending a certain militaristic feeling to the work, and evoking images of marching armies. Extended techniques are used repeatedly, casting a shade of uncertainty around the military campaigns (Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware and the seige at Yorktown), while The Declaration of Independence is scored in strict time and with more traditional harmonies, solidifying the event as the central moment of American history.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533762 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 55 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3043953. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533762). Flute Concerto (2006) was commissioned by flutist Judith von Hopf and theKiev Philharmonic and premiered by them under the direction of GuidoLamell. The work is in two movements: Chanson and Fantasy Variations. The first movement, Chanson, is an extended “song†that develops through avariety of textures. The opening song material is centered around G#. In turn, this G# is revealed to be a quasi-dominant of a D centered sonority. (A briefcoda returns to G#, in preparation for the D center of the second movement.)The second movement, Fantasy Variations, is cast as two presentations ofthe theme surrounding five free variations, plus a coda. The theme serves asthe basis of the musical material for each variation as well as the structuraltemplate for each. Also, each variation contains material referring backspecifically to the previous variation. The opening theme is declamatory and massive. The first variation is fastand limber. The second variation is introspective and stratified. The thirdvariation is fleeting. The fourth variation is distant and spare. The fifthvariation is fast and driving. The final theme begins whispered and slowlyregains its declamatory nature before a brief and intense coda ends the workin a blaze. This item is the score and the solo part only. The orchestral parts are on rental from the publisher. The piano reduction is for sale as a seperate item.Instrumentation2 Flutes (2nd dbl. Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1470455 By Keith Terrett. By Tsvetan Radoslavov. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,Patriotic,World. 30 pages. Keith Terrett #1048173. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1470455). The national anthem of Bulgaria arranged for Symphony Orchestra, Mila Rodino (Мила Родино [miɫɐ rɔdino], translated as Dear Motherland or Dear native land) is the current national anthem of Bulgaria. There are alternative versions for Symphony & Brass Quintet in my stores. It is based on the music and text of the song Gorda Stara Planina by Tsvetan Radoslavov, written and composed as he left to fight in the Serbo-Bulgarian War in 1885. The anthem was adopted in 1964. The text has been changed many times, most recently in 1990.Between 1886 and 1944, the Bulgarian national anthem was Shumi Maritsa (Шуми Марица); from 1950 to 1964, it was My Bulgaria, land of heroes (Balgariyo mila, zemya na geroi, Българийо мила, земя на герои); in the brief period between these two, it was the march Republiko nasha, zdravey (Републико наша, здравей!).Originally written and composed by a Bulgarian student in 1885, as he went off to fight in the Serbo-Bulgarian war, the song was titled “Горда Стара планина” (“Gorda Stara planina”) [Proudly Rise the Balkan Peaks]. The original lyrics have undergone revisions since its original composition, the latest after the fall of the communist government in 1990 where verses not in the original lyrics speaking of friendship with Russia, the Communist Party, and fallen fighters were removed. As the national anthem its name comes from the first line of the chorus rather than the first line of the verse. For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores: https://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keithterrett1 http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrett Need an anthem fast? Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008374 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. Score and parts. 24 pages. Arkady Leytush #4849775. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008374). Estampes (Engravings) is the title of the triptych of three pieces which Debussy put together in 1903. The first complete performance was given on 9 January 1904 in the Salle Erard, Paris, by the young Spanish pianist Ricardo Viñes, who was already emerging as the prime interpreter of the new French music of Debussy and Ravel. The first two pieces were completed in 1903, but the third derives from an earlier group of pieces from 1894, collectively titled Images, which remained unpublished until 60 years after Debussy’s death, when they were printed as Images (oubliées). Estampes marks an expansion of Debussy’s keyboard style: he was apparently spurred to fuse neo-Lisztian technique with a sensitive, impressionistic pictorial impulse under the impact of discovering Ravel’s Jeux d’eau, published in 1902. The opening movement, ‘Pagodes’, is Debussy’s first pianistic evocation of the Orient and is essentially a fixed contemplation of its object, as in a Chinese print. This static impression is partly caused by Debussy’s use of long pedal-points, partly by his almost constant preoccupation with pentatonic melodies which subvert the sense of harmonic movement. He uses such pentatonic fragments in many different ways: in delicate arabesques, in two-part counterpoint, in canon, harmonized in fourths and fifths and as an underpinning for pattering, gamelan-like ostinato writing. Altogether the piece reflects the decisive impression made on him by hearing Javanese and Cambodian musicians at the 1889 Paris Exposition, which he had striven for years to incorporate effectively in music. In its final bars the music begins to dissolve into elaborate filigree.Just as ‘Pagodes’ was his first Oriental piece, so ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ was the first of Debussy’s evocations of Spain-that preternatural embodiment of an ‘imaginary Andalusia’ which would inspire Manuel de Falla, the native Spaniard, to go back to his country and create a true modern Spanish music based on Debussyan principles. Debussy’s personal acquaintance with Spain was virtually non-existent (he had spent a day just over the border at San Sebastian) and it is possible that one model for the piece was Ravel’s Habanera. Yet he wrote of this piece (to his friend Pierre Louÿs, to whom it was dedicated), ‘if this isn’t the music they play in Granada, so much the worse for Granada!’-and there is no debate about the absolute authenticity of Debussy’s use of Spanish idioms here. Falla himself pronounced it ‘characteristically Spanish in every detail’. ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ is founded on an ostinato that echoes the rhythm of the habanera and is present almost throughout. Beginning and ending in almost complete silence, this dark nocturne of warm summer nights builds powerfully to its climaxes. The melodic material ranges from a doleful Moorish chant with a distinctly oriental character to a stamping, vivacious dance-measure, taking in brief suggestions of guitar strumming and perfumed Impressionist haze. There is even a hint of castanets near the end. The piece fades out in a coda that seems to distil all the melancholy of the Moorish theme and a last few distant chords of the guitar. ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ is based on the children’s song ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’ (We shan’t go to the woods): its original 1894 form was in fact entitled Quelques aspects de ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’. The two versions are really two distinct treatments of the same set of ideas, but in ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ Estampes the earlier piece has been entirely rethought. The whole conception is more impressionistic, and subtilized. The teeming semiquaver motion is more all-pervasive, the tunes (for Debussy has added a second children’s song for treatment, ‘Do, do, l’enfant do’) more elusive and tinged sometimes with melancholy or nostalgia. The ending of the piece is entirely new. What it loses, perha.

Arranged by Arkady Leytush. Romantic Period, Impressionistic, Repertoire, European. 96 pages. Published by Arkady Leytush (S0.616185). Item Number: S0.616185 The composition of La Vega completed in 1897. It is interesting to note that Albeniz almost completely abandoned the composition of piano works after La Vega, although his fame was mainly focused on the works for this instrument. Although La Vega was planned as part of a cycle of melodies written on poems by his patron Money-Coutts and was therefore used as an independent piece of an orchestra suite, this work was originally composed for piano. According to the autographed dating found on the last page of the manuscript, Albeniz finished La Vega at first on January 26, 1897 in Auteuil, in a Paris neighborhood. In the course of the following weeks, decided to make profound changes. He deleted the last five pages of the Vega, added six at the beginning and composed a different ending of seven more pages. This revision ended in Paris on February 14, 1897, and Albeniz wrote down on the last page: La Alhambra, symphonic suite on poems by F. B. Money-Coutts: nº 1: La Vega. La Vega is an evocation of the Granada plains on the edge of the city, a musical reflection, as the composer put it, contemplated from the Alhambra Palace. Claude Debussy, on hearing Albeniz play the piece, enthusiastically told him of his wish to immediately go and discover Granada.

This is an ideal piece for the first experience of playing guitar with an orchestra. The guitar part has different types of sound: chords, plucking of strings, tapping on the soundboard. Various strokes and sound effects are also used in the orchestra: pizzicato, characteristic sound of castanets, smooth melody in brass instrumentsÂ

Keith Terrett #906430. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1317749). He national anthem of Latvia arranged for SymphonyOrchestra. The music and lyrics were written in 1873 by KÄrlis Baumanis, a teacher, who was part of the Young Latvian nationalist movement. It has been speculated that Baumanis may have borrowed part of the lyrics from a popular song which was sung to tune of God Save the Queen, modified them and set them to music of his own. Baumanis's lyrics were different from the modern ones: he used the term Baltics synonymously and interchangeably with Latvia and Latvians, so Latvia was actually mentioned only at the beginning of the first verse. Later the term Latvia was removed and replaced with Baltics to avoid a ban on the song. This has led to the misapprehension that the term Latvia was not part of the song until 1920, when it was chosen as national anthem and the word Baltics was replaced with Latvia.During the annexation of Latvia by the Soviet Union, the singing of Dievs, svÄ“tÄ« Latviju! was banned. The Soviet republic of Latvia had its own anthem. Dievs, svÄ“tÄ« Latviju! was restored as the state anthem of Latvia on 15 February 1990, a very short period before Latvian independence was restored. The anthem's tune was modernized with a new F major version that is used since 2014, formerly a G major version was used on LTV's sign-on and sign-offs daily from 2011 up to 2013.For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores:http://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keith_terrethttp://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrettNeed an anthem fast? Published by Juan Carlos Guerra Gonzalez (A0.1208333). “Munamiktia†(To marry) is based on the six sones from “Los Chapetones†(a folkloric dance from Panchimalco, El Salvador). “Los Chapetones†is a satiric dance portraying the social constructs of the Colonial time. It represents a wedding between Doña Lucrecia de Castilla and Don Tomás Rainer with the intention of making an alliance between Turkey and Spain. The investigation of this dance and its original music was made possible thanks to Aracely Sánchez (cultural researcher), Marcial Gudiel (folkloric dance researcher), and Concepción Clará de Guevara (anthropologist) for the creation of the work “Panchimalco†in 1982 work that was commissioned by the National Dance School of El Salvador “Morena Celariéâ€. The editors of the “Diccionario de la Música Española e Hispanoamericana†(Dictionary of Spanish and Hispanic Music) found this dance was unique in its genre in America and the Caribbean making “Los Chapetones†something exclusive from El Salvador. For this work, a part of each one of the sones is transformed in its rhythm or intervals to put them in melodies or in lines for the bass that have been harmonized in a different way while interacting with themes created especially for this work. The title, which in Nahuat means to marry, also serves as a reference to the union between the traditional themes used and the composer’s own musical language. Munamiktia (To marry) was written for the Salvadoran Composers Competition organized by the Pan American Symphony Orchestra (PASO) in Washington, DC. Given its originality, the Jury decided, after a long deliberation, to award it second place. The World Premiere will take place during their 21/22 season after PASO resumes activities due to COVID.* The actual World Premiere took place on March 25th, 2023 in Washington D.C. Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q19130 Composed by John Casken. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 20 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q19130. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q19130). My Concerto for Orchestra (2007) is a twenty-minute work in which different sections of the orchestra, as well as individual solos and duos from within the orchestra, are highlighted as the music unfolds. The work continues my interest in two-movement forms that began with my Cello Concerto (1991), and was later developed in Sortilège (1996) and Symphony (Broken Consort) (2004). In these works, and in the Concerto for Orchestra, each movement is given equal weight and importance with the second developing earlier material and taking it in new directions. The two-movement form of the Concerto for Orchestra derives from a symphonic sonata structure, reshaping the traditional four-movement form and combining this with aspects of sonata form, a tradition that goes back to Liszt, Schoenberg and Sibelius: 1st movement (i) exposition of ideas - dramatic and sudden (ii) scherzo and development 1 - resolute 2nd movement (iii) adagio - calm and unhurried (iv) development 2 with recapitulation - intense and energetic The Concerto for Orchestra was commissioned by the Musikalische Akademie des Nationaltheatre-Orchesters Mannheim with the support of Die Landesbank Baden-Württemberg for its first two performances on 31st March and 1st April 2008 conducted by Friedemann Layer. The score is dedicated in friendship and admiration to Ronald Zollman. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1408248). Sergei Lyapunov, the centenary of his death, which we celebrate this year, was a brilliant pianist, gifted composer and teacher. His scherzo, modestly titled “Humoresque,†is a brilliant virtuoso piece in which, thanks to symphonic development, I heard a potential orchestra. Working on the orchestral transcription of this work was an absolute pleasure for me, since the soloists and groups of the future orchestra reproduced exclusively in accordance with their nature, character and mobility. In other words, to put it in theatrical language, the casting turned out to be very successful. In a regular score, the overall sound takes on a different scale and can delight listeners and musicians with excellent virtuosic compositions, updating the standard repertoire.
