For the bells there is an extra optional score that could be eventually used by a keyboard instrument. The percussion could be performed by 3 or 4 musicians. It consists of a set of cymbals „G, A and C, a splash or crash, an open triangle, a snare drum, One or 2 Gongs and a bass drum. For each voice in the ensemble score there is an individual part ready to print and an optional standard one. The parts are very easy to perform. The piece is can easily be adjusted to different situations. It is perfect for school ensembles and mixed groups of beginner students and advanced ones. A little story about this piece In my early teens I dreamed in my sleep that I met a very nice gentleman, in a beautiful garden. At the time I did not now that the man in my dream was my „genetic Grandpa himself, I had never seen a picture from him, only many years later after this dream. Now back to the Dream. Grandpa toke me from the garden to a House full of sculptures and art work. There was also a room with 3 great pianos, sat to perform on 3 different stages. Family life size portraits where hanging on a corridor. Another room was full of swords and ancient family weapons. In the end of the dream a dangerous Entity approached the house, Grandpa disappears and I had to leave the place in a hurry without being noticed. I climbed up the house and went hiding on the celling. I could than see a middle aged, middle-Lower class lady coming in the House, she was very stiff, all dressed in black like a widow. It was a very weary feeling, I woke up to never forget this dream. About 20 years later I was in that garden. It was really abandoned and I spend much of my time hanging there, I wrote a lot of music in this garden. I knew about The owner of this garden, he was living not so far away from me. Curious I decided to visit him. He leaved in the house that I dreamed of and he was actually my Father but I did not know that he was my Father and either did he knew about me being his son. He died shortly after we met. His name was Pedro Augusto Franco Dos Anjos Teixeira and my Grandpa was Artur Gaspar Dos Anjos Teixeira. Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love and cover design. Proctor (A0.809714). A concerto for Double Bass and orchestra in the traditional fast - slow – fast concerto format. While not overly challenging for the bass soloist, it does explore, to a degree, the upper reaches of the instrument as well as sounding the beautiful low range. The first movement is that might be called Neo – Classical, opening with an 8-measure solo in a Largo or slow tempo. The tempo then changes to Allegro (fast) for the balance of the movement. The movement ends as it began with the double bass playing alone. The second movement is a jazz waltz. In 9/8, it opens with the soloist playing pizzicato against a rhythmic cord progression. The bass and cello sections pick this up to provide a ground upon which the balance of the movement is played over. The second movement is in the relative minor of Bb which is G minor. A haunting melody is introduced by the bass and doubled by the strings. This melody is replayed by various instruments as the Bass Soloist plays variations on this theme. The harp and the bass solo end the movement. The third movement leans toward French Impressionism. This movement is Andantino; however, it is a spirited. Written in cut time, where the half note equals 92 beats per minute. The melody is introduced by the woodwinds with the harp accompanying. The strings and brass join in as the woodwinds repeat the melody. Finally, the bass solo takes charge of the melody using it as a theme and variation. The harp is used extensively in this concerto providing harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic support for the bass. Written in 2015, the concerto is a new work, however, it is not experimental music. It uses the standard orchestral instruments playing in the standard fashion. It is replete with modern harmonic sounds and chord progressions. As concerto's go, this one is not overly difficult providing the bassist with a starting point as a soloist. It does require the soloist to have some mastery over the instrument as the music traverses most of the instrument’s range. Performance time is approximately 13 minutes and 10 seconds.

Fêtes galantes was actually planned as a hybrid opera-ballet to a libretto by Debussy’s friend Louis Laloy in November, 1913. For this, Laloy arranged selected poetry by Paul Verlaine into three tableaux, replacing an earlier (unstarted) Debussyan project with Charles Morice of 1912 entitled Crimen amoris. During his last productive summer of 1915, Debussy set a sequence from the start of the first tableau, ‘Les Masques’, involving stanzas 1 and 3 of the opening song for Mezzetin in Verlaine’s comedy Les Uns et les autres (1884). The action is set in a park à la Watteau late one summer afternoon as Mezzetin attempts to entertain a group of nonchalant masqueraders with only the aid of his voice and a mandolin.. This appears to have been prefaced by a slower, elegiac introduction reminiscent of the opening of the comtemporary Cello Sonata and it leads to a danced minuet by the masqued dancers which has clear echoes of the piano piece L’Isle joyeuse (1904). Following Laloy’s scenario, the masqueraders then sing extracts from Verlaine’s ‘A la promenade’ (from Fêtes galantes itself). The minuet returns at greater length before being cut short by a chilly gust of wind, after which the park returns to its orginal state (and music) as though nothing had really happened.

They appear to “Tango†with their prey. For me the Tango is a passionately agressive dance with no negotiation. If you are a small creature caught by a sparrowhawk there is also no negotiation!There are now 7 different arrangements of this piece available;No.1 – School arrangement; for violins 1, 2 and 3, cello 1 and 2.No.2 – Standard Arrangement; for violins 1 and 2, viola, cello and double bassNo.3 – Youth OrchestraThe instrumentation for the youth orchestra arrangement is as follows:Flutes 1&2, 1 Oboe, Clarinets 1&2 in Bflat, 1 Bass Clarinet in Bflat (to low C), 1 Bassoon, 1 Eflat Alto Saxophone.Trumpets 1&2 in Bflat2 Pedal Timpani, Side Drum, Bongos – 1 set, 1 Conga, 1 Suspended Cymbal (played with soft stick throughout), Maracas, Tambourine, Triangle.Violins 1,2 & 3, Cello 1 & 2No.4 – Flute, violin and pianoNo.5 – Flute, cello and pianoNo.6 – Flute, clarinet (Bflat), violin and pianoNo.7 – Flute, clarinet (Bflat) and pianoNo.8 – Piano Solo.
