Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284109 By Wings. By Linda McCartney and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Film/TV,Pop. Score and Parts. 60 pages. Kevin Riley #875342. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1284109). Live and Let Die is the theme song of the 1973 James Bond film of the same name, performed by the British–American rock band Wings. Written by English musician Paul McCartney and his wife Linda McCartney, it reunited McCartney with former Beatlesproducer George Martin, who produced the song and arranged the orchestra. McCartney was contacted to write the song by the film's producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli before the screenplay was finished. Wings recorded Live and Let Die during the sessions for Red Rose Speedway in October 1972 at AIR Studios. It was also the first rock song to open a Bond film. Another version by B. J. Arnau also appears in the film.Upon release, Live and Let Die was the most successful Bond theme up to that point, reaching No. 1 on two of the three major US charts (though it only reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100) and No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also received positive reviews from music critics and continues to be praised as one of McCartney's best songs. It became the first Bond theme song to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but ultimately lost the award to Barbra Streisand's The Way We Were. It won the Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) at the 16th Annual Grammy Awardsin 1974.Wings performed Live and Let Die live during their concert tours and McCartney continues to play it on his solo tours, often using pyrotechnics during the instrumental breaks. It has been covered by several bands, including Guns N' Roses, whose version appears on their 1991 album Use Your Illusion I. One of the more popular covers of the song, their version was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performanceat the 35th Annual Grammy Awards in 1993. In 2012, McCartney was awarded the Million-Air Award from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), for more than 4 million performances of the song in the US.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1451815 Composed by James Horner. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Celtic,Film/TV,Irish. 34 pages. Kevin Riley #1031126. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1451815). Braveheart – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the instrumental soundtrack album to the 1995 film of the same name composed and conducted by James Horner and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. It is Horner's second of three collaborations with Mel Gibson as director following The Man Without a Face (1993). The soundtrack, comprising 77 minutes of film score, was notably successful and was nominated for Best Original Score at the 68th Academy Awards in 1996, but lost to Luis Bacalov's composition to Il Postino.Horner's score includes a melody that appeared again in his 1997 music for Titanic. Irish band Clannadwrote a theme tune for the film, entitled 'Croí Cróga' (meaning 'braveheart'). However, the track was not used in the soundtrack, but was released by Clannad on the album 'Lore'. Several critics have noted similarities between the Main Theme and an earlier theme song, Kaoru Wada's Pai Longing in the 1991 anime series 3×3 Eyes.[2][3][4].

The ground breaking Netflix epic TV biopic series was indeed a huge sea change in home streaming content output, bringing together some of Britain's biggest names in theatre, film and TV to portray the history of Queen Elizabeth II's 70 years as the UK monarch. Controversial at times, it had many critics but it was hugely popular with no less than 4 actresses taking on her portrayal. The respect, sensitivity and gravitas we would expect for a histirical drama production like this was self evident from the opening credits and the accompanying music. The theme that Balfe, Gregson Williams and Zimmer created perfectly framed and set up each episode beautifully. A little known fact is that it is based on a song written 400 years before it by Henry Purcell in his 'semi-opera' KING ARTHUR. The harmonies Purcell wrote in his 'Cold song' were very progressive for the time it was written but provides a wonderful bed for the modern writing team to use as their inspiration. This orchestration follows the original TV soundtrack as closely as possible for standard concert orchestra instrumentation:2 FlutesPiccolo2 Oboes2 Clarinets1 Bass Clarinet2 Bassoons4 Horns3 Trumpets3 TrombonesTubaTimpani2 Percussion[Taiko Drum/Large Bass Drum]StringsCheckout some of the growing list of other titles now available on this website scored by Studio Orchestrations.

Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Standards. Score and parts. 32 pages. Kevin Riley #681399. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1077231). Versions of the song have appeared frequently in films and television shows. The song is featured during the ending credits of Disney/Pixar's 2003 animated film Finding Nemo. The song is played prominently in the 2007 video game BioShock. The X-Files episode Beyond the Sea is named for the song, which is playing on the boat owned by Dana Scully's father. The song plays in the background during a scene in the 1990 film Goodfellas while the characters are preparing food in prison. A version of the song by Kathryn Williams is the theme song for the British TV Show The Cafe broadcast on Sky1. The song plays in the official trailer for the 2018 film The Meg. In the 2020 horror film A Quiet Place Part II, the song is played on loop over the radio as a signal to guide survivors to an island. In an episode of the television show Lost (TV Series), the song is part of a code that needs to be decyphered in the episode Whatever the Case May Be. The plot delves into the original Frech recording of La Mer, heard as a French dub of the closing credits of the film Finding Nemo.

Colors of the Wind is a song written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz for Walt Disney Pictures' 33rd animated feature film, Pocahontas (1995). The film's theme song, Colors of the Wind was originally recorded by American singer and actress Judy Kuhn in her role as the singing voice of Pocahontas. Children,Christmas,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 29 pages. Christian Frederick Moehrle #5001315. Published by Christian Frederick Moehrle (A0.1024376). Another selection from my Steam Locomotive Songbook, this ballad was meant to musically describe the official state steam locomotive of Michigan, the Pere Marquette #1225, which is owned and operated by the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, MI. Most people should recognize this easily, as it starred as the titular train in the 2004 animated movie The Polar Express, starring Tom Hanks. And seeing that the #1225 is the real-life version of said Christmas train, that runs holiday-themed excursions based upon the original Chris Van Allsburg story, I'd thought it is appropriate to give it a Christmas theme. Again, much of this is my own work, although it also recycles material from the official Michigan State University Alma Mater, MSU Shadows, and the traditional German Hymn turned official Michigan State Song O Tannebaum/Michigan my Michigan. With all that being said, I also do not own the Pere Marquette railroad.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1236780 By Kumiko. By Joe Hisaishi. Arranged by Tom Maher. 21st Century,Classical,Film/TV. Score and Parts. 92 pages. Tom Maher #832309. Published by Tom Maher (A0.1236780). Merry Go Round of Life is a beautiful instrumental piece composed by Joe Hisaishi, a Japanese composer known for his work on various Studio Ghibli films. The song is featured in the soundtrack of the 2004 animated film Howl's Moving Castle, directed by legendary Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. The piece opens with a delicate piano melody, heard in our arrangement on the vibraphone, gradually building in intensity as the rest of the orchestra joins in. The music captures a sense of whimsy and nostalgia, evoking images of a carousel or a child's music box.In Howl's Moving Castle, the song is used as a recurring theme throughout the film. It is played during several key moments, including the opening credits and the final scene. The music perfectly captures the film's themes of love, magic, and the passing of time. The title Merry Go Round of Life is fitting, as it suggests the cyclical nature of life and the idea that we are all constantly moving in circles. The music also conveys a sense of hope and joy, encouraging listeners to embrace the ups and downs of life and enjoy the ride. This arrangement is meant for intermediate to advanced high school symphonic orchestra. Most instruments play some version of the melody, and many of the figures from the original film version are present, yet written with younger players in mind. The strings should take extra care to play under the vibraphone solos, or the director may choose to double this part on another mallet percussion or piano.Instrumentation: 2 Flutes, 2 Clarinets, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, 2 Horns, 3 Trumpets, 2 Trombones, Mallet Percussion, Snare Drum/Crash Cymbal, Bass Drum, Timpani, Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030571 Composed by Hans Zimmer, Lebo M, and Mark Mancina. Arranged by Brian Strohmetz. Broadway,Film/TV,Multicultural,Musical/Show,World. Score and parts. 71 pages. Brian Strohmetz #633740. Published by Brian Strohmetz (A0.1030571). For Orchestra, Solo Vocalist and Choir Shadowland is a song written by Lebo M., Hans Zimmer and Mark Mancina for the musical The Lion King (1997), a stage adaptation of Disney's 1994 animated film of the same name. Based on the song Lea Halalela (Holy Land), a track featured on Lebo's Lion King-inspired concept album Rhythm of the Pride Lands (1995), Lebo composed the track with Zimmer, while both Lebo and Mancina contributed new lyrics to its melody. Lebo based the song's lyrics on his own experiences having been exiled from South Africa during apartheid, therefore imbuing Shadowland with themes about refugeeism and survival. Originally performed by Trinidadian-American singer and actress Heather Headley as Nala, and South African actress Tsidii Le Loka as Rafiki, roles both performers originated on stage, Shadowland narrates Nala's decision to leave the Pride Lands in search of a more habitable environment upon realizing that her homeland has grown dry and barren in the midst of Scar's reign. Taking place shortly after Nala rejects Scar's romantic advances, director Julie Taymor used the song to develop Nala into a stronger character for the stage adaptation, and identified Shadowland as her favorite among the production's original songs, believing its message and themes to be universal. Musically, Shadowland is a soul power ballad. Sung in both English and African languages, its instrumentation combines African percussion with European orchestration to create a more exotic sound while accompanying pop vocals and African chants; some critics have observed political themes such as feminism, injustice and the ecosystem throughout the song's lyrics. Shadowland has been mostly positively received by music and theatre critics; both Headley and actresses who replaced her in subsequent productions of the musical have been praised for their vocals and performances.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942170 Composed by Georges Bizet. Arranged by Armin Terzer. Opera,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 259 pages. Armin Terzer #5048273. Published by Armin Terzer (A0.942170). This arrangement for full orchestra of the famous Bizet opera Carmen strings together all the major (and some of the secondary) themes into a 20-minute medley: - Prelude (Introduction to Act 1 Les Toreadors & Prelude to Act 1) - Chorus of the Street Boys (Act 1 Le garde montante) - Habanera - Song and Recitative - Seguidilla and Duet (Act 1 Seguedille) - Finale (Act 1 Finale) - Act II: Entr'acte (Prelude to Act 2 Les dragons d’Alcala) - Gypsy Song (Act 2 Danse Boheme) - Toreador Song (Act 2 Chanson du Toreador) - Act III: Entr'acte (Prelude to Act 3 Intermezzo) - Sextet and Chorus (Introduction to Act 3 Marche des contrebandiers) - Air (Act 3 Nocturne) - Act IV: Entr'acte (Prelude to Act 4 Aragonaise) - March and Chorus – Finale (Act 4 Procession of the Toreadors) All the themes featured in the two orchestral suites by Ernest Guiraud are included. There are, however, major differences: - the themes appear in chronological order (like in the opera) - there are no distinct movements, this is a 20-minute romp featuring tune after tune - most parts, especially repetitive songs, are abridged to varying degrees - where appropriate, sections seamlessly segue into the next- the major tunes (Les Toreadors, Gypsy Song, Toreador Song) allow for applause afterwards - the orchestration follows the original (double woodwinds, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, harp, timpani and 3 percussion, strings) with minimal changes to compensate for missing vocal lines Further cuts are possible and easy to make due to the clearly marked sections. This arrangement is meant to rival the orchestral suites in excitement and colours - but in a more organic/continuous format. It is ideal for any level orchestra (intermediate+) in any kind of setting.

Score and parts. 31 pages. Felix Linsmeier #591388. Published by Felix Linsmeier (A0.985729). The famous theme from the Largo of the Symphony No. 9 was adapted into the spiritual-like song Goin' Home (often mistakenly considered a folk song or traditional spiritual) by Dvořák's pupil William Arms Fisher, who wrote the lyrics in 1922. This arrangement is based on Dvořák's original orchestration of the Largo as well as the cuts and changes made by Fisher for his piano edition. This orchestration is perfectly compatible with Fisher's piano score, which the singer may use. The instrumentation is 2.2(II=corA.).2.2 - 3.2.3.1 - timp - strings + solo singer (preferably baritone) In the UK, the theme gained traction among the general public after its use in an advert for the Hovis bakery. In 1981, Don Williams would record a different song written to the melody, by Roger Cook. The resulting composition, Miracles, would peak at number 4 on the Billboard country singles chart that July, and also reach number 32 on the adult contemporary chart.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.984555 Composed by Franz X. Gruber. Arranged by Tito Abeleda. Christmas. Score and parts. 69 pages. Visionary Quest Records #4895613. Published by Visionary Quest Records (A0.984555). To understand why I composed this arrangement of Silent Night, Holy Night in the way that I did, close your eyes and imagine taking a holy journey or pilgrimage to visit the Holy Nativity. I musically convey what I imagined it would have been like to make this long journey like the Three Wise Kings and others did to follow the Star of Bethlehem to see the Blessed Child that prophets had foretold. As each person begins the journey, you will hear the distinctly grave motif indicative of the quest that was before them. The brass gloriously herald one's approach to the Holy Nativity coupled with the commencement of the Silent Night, Holy Night carol theme upon one's arrival. The music Silent Night, Holy Night was originally composed in 1818 by Franz X. Gruber. The original lyrics were were written in German by James Mohr also in 1818. This Christmas Classic was translated to English in 1859 by John Young. I wrote this arrangement yesterday as an intermediate level piano solo. This is a re-imagined version of Franz Gruber's Christmas Carol classic Silent Night, Holy Night. Section A begins with a poignant introduction in C Minor, then modulates to C Major for the main Silent Night, Holy Night Christmas Carol theme in Section B. Section C returns to a new version of its introductory C Minor motif. The song segues back to its Silent Night, Holy Night theme, but modulating to D Major for its closing.F. Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008374 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. Score and parts. 24 pages. Arkady Leytush #4849775. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008374). Estampes (Engravings) is the title of the triptych of three pieces which Debussy put together in 1903. The first complete performance was given on 9 January 1904 in the Salle Erard, Paris, by the young Spanish pianist Ricardo Viñes, who was already emerging as the prime interpreter of the new French music of Debussy and Ravel. The first two pieces were completed in 1903, but the third derives from an earlier group of pieces from 1894, collectively titled Images, which remained unpublished until 60 years after Debussy’s death, when they were printed as Images (oubliées). Estampes marks an expansion of Debussy’s keyboard style: he was apparently spurred to fuse neo-Lisztian technique with a sensitive, impressionistic pictorial impulse under the impact of discovering Ravel’s Jeux d’eau, published in 1902. The opening movement, ‘Pagodes’, is Debussy’s first pianistic evocation of the Orient and is essentially a fixed contemplation of its object, as in a Chinese print. This static impression is partly caused by Debussy’s use of long pedal-points, partly by his almost constant preoccupation with pentatonic melodies which subvert the sense of harmonic movement. He uses such pentatonic fragments in many different ways: in delicate arabesques, in two-part counterpoint, in canon, harmonized in fourths and fifths and as an underpinning for pattering, gamelan-like ostinato writing. Altogether the piece reflects the decisive impression made on him by hearing Javanese and Cambodian musicians at the 1889 Paris Exposition, which he had striven for years to incorporate effectively in music. In its final bars the music begins to dissolve into elaborate filigree.Just as ‘Pagodes’ was his first Oriental piece, so ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ was the first of Debussy’s evocations of Spain-that preternatural embodiment of an ‘imaginary Andalusia’ which would inspire Manuel de Falla, the native Spaniard, to go back to his country and create a true modern Spanish music based on Debussyan principles. Debussy’s personal acquaintance with Spain was virtually non-existent (he had spent a day just over the border at San Sebastian) and it is possible that one model for the piece was Ravel’s Habanera. Yet he wrote of this piece (to his friend Pierre Louÿs, to whom it was dedicated), ‘if this isn’t the music they play in Granada, so much the worse for Granada!’-and there is no debate about the absolute authenticity of Debussy’s use of Spanish idioms here. Falla himself pronounced it ‘characteristically Spanish in every detail’. ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ is founded on an ostinato that echoes the rhythm of the habanera and is present almost throughout. Beginning and ending in almost complete silence, this dark nocturne of warm summer nights builds powerfully to its climaxes. The melodic material ranges from a doleful Moorish chant with a distinctly oriental character to a stamping, vivacious dance-measure, taking in brief suggestions of guitar strumming and perfumed Impressionist haze. There is even a hint of castanets near the end. The piece fades out in a coda that seems to distil all the melancholy of the Moorish theme and a last few distant chords of the guitar. ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ is based on the children’s song ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’ (We shan’t go to the woods): its original 1894 form was in fact entitled Quelques aspects de ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’. The two versions are really two distinct treatments of the same set of ideas, but in ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ Estampes the earlier piece has been entirely rethought. The whole conception is more impressionistic, and subtilized. The teeming semiquaver motion is more all-pervasive, the tunes (for Debussy has added a second children’s song for treatment, ‘Do, do, l’enfant do’) more elusive and tinged sometimes with melancholy or nostalgia. The ending of the piece is entirely new. What it loses, perha.
