Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1169670 Composed by Simon Franglen. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Contemporary,Film/TV. 20 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #770032. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1169670). Avatar: The Way of Water, is the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning film from 2009. The soundtrack for the new film was written by Simon Franglen, who originally wrote 5 hours of music to cover any and all situations in the almost 3-hour movie. The Songcord is a beautiful song that is heard twice in the film – at the beginning and at the end. A songcord is a mnemonic device used by the Na’vi that assists them in storytelling. In this song, Neytiri is thanking Eywa – the Great Mother - for her family. This arrangement is scored for saxophone choir – 2 sopranos, 3 altos, 2 tenors, and baritone. There is an optional bass saxophone part. One of the most important parts of this piece is what helps create the mood, which is where the part called “Shimmer†comes in. In an interview, Simon Franglen said that an important part of the music is the feeling of light, and he achieved that by including shimmering sounds into his tunes. The “Shimmer†part can be played by hanging a few keys (house keys, car keys, etc.) that have different pitches on short lengths of string. Use a small metal or wooden object to lightly hit the keys to create little “dingsâ€. You can also use wind chimes, a little xylophone, bells, etc. The idea is to create a magical mood without overpowering the music. Play this part wherever there is a note in the measure. Always keep the melody prominent. Play this slowly and freely, with a lot of rubato. Duration: 3.75 minutes.

Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813545 Composed by Shaker Song (attr. Elder Joseph Brackett, Jr.). Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Folk,Sacred,Standards,Wedding. 13 pages. Regis Bookshar #6352529. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813545). Saxophone Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. Simple Gifts ('Tis the Gift to Be Simple), an American Shaker Song, written in 1848 and attributed to Elder Joseph Brackett, Jr. of Alfred, Maine, would be a great addition to any music library. The song was largely unknown outside Shaker communities until Aaron Copland used its melody for the score of Martha Graham's ballet, Appalachian Spring, first performed in 1944. Simple Gifts has now been arranged for a Saxophone Octet, consisting of 4 Alto Saxophones, 3 Tenor Saxophones and 1 Baritone Saxophone, by Regis Bookshar. This arrangement features the Baritone Saxophone on the melody. It is suitable for high school and college students, and, depending upon their ability, even elementary school students. Professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. It could be performed for concerts and church services. The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has often performed it for Weddings. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (13 pages). In addition to this arrangement of Simple Gifts for a Saxophone Octet, other arrangements of this tune are also available. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might also interest you. Please continue to check periodically because I continue to add new arrangements as often as I can. I'm certain that this arrangement of Simple Gifts will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Simple Gifts has now been arranged for a Tenor Saxophone Octet by Regis Bookshar. In addition to this arrangement of Simple Gifts for a Tenor Saxophone Octet, other arrangements of this tune are also available.

Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. 20th Century,Broadway,Contemporary,Musical/Show. 32 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #838410. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1243445). This is one of my favorite feel good Disney songs. Â I just can't help but smile when I hear it. Â This saxophone choir arrangement requires strong players on every part and strict timing with the eighth notes. Â Also, the lighter the notes are played, the better, as this will help keep the tempo from slowing down. Â The melody should be able to sing above all the stuff going on around it.Scored for 2 sopranos, 3 altos, tenor, and baritone saxophones. Â There is an optional bass sax part that doubles the baritone.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!Duration: 2.75 minutes.

Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1087835 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. 26 pages. Regis Bookshar #692064. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1087835). Coronation March, TH 50, CW 47 by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Tenor Saxophone Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of Peter Tchaikovsky's Coronation March, sometimes called Festival March or Festival Coronation March, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and other festive occasions. This arrangement keeps all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students. Professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (26 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available to the public for the first time. The Coronation March was ordered by the city of Moscow for the coronation of Tsar Alexander III in 1883. It was written during March of 1883 and was performed for the first time on June 4, 1883 in Sokolniky Park in Moscow, conducted by Sergei Taneyev. The music then included excerpts of the anthem, God Save the Tsar. The American premiere was on May 5, 1891, for the opening concert of Carnegie Hall in New York City, conducted by Tchaikovsky himself. During the Soviet Era, Russian performances and recordings of the music were revised to omit the excerpts from the Czarist national anthem, replacing it with thematic material used earlier in the march, due to an official Soviet ban on the anthem. Starting with Dmitri Medvedev's inauguration in 2008, an abbreviated version of this piece is played during the Russian presidential inauguration accompanying the entrance of the incoming president, and ends well before the playing in this piece of the Tsarist anthem God Save the Tsar. Unlike Tchaikovsky's other major compositions, the Coronation March does not have an opus number. It has been given alternative catalogue designations TH 50 and CW 47. Tchaikovsky's Coronation March was originally scored for a full orchestra and written in the key of D Major. Regis Bookshar has now created an abbreviated version, written in Db Major, and has arranged it for a Tenor Saxophone Octet. In addition to this arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Coronation March for a Tenor Saxophone Octet, other arrangements of this festive composition for various instrumental ensembles are also available. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are many more arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you as well, and please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. Regis Bookshar has now created an abbreviated version, written in Db Major, and has arranged it for a Saxophone Octet, consisting of 4 Alto Saxophones, 3 Tenor Saxophones and 1 Baritone Saxophone. In addition to this arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Coronation March for a Saxophone Octet, other arrangements of this festive composition for various instrumental ensembles are also available. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are many more arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you as well, and please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Coronation March will continue to entertain both audiences and performers alike for years to come.

Saxophone Choir - Intermediate - Digital Download By Koji Kondo. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Score, Set of Parts. 16 pages. Published by Lisa Ochoco
Super Mario Bros was a super popular Nintendo game, but I think the song was even more so. Back in the 80's, game music was written to attract attention to the game itself, rather than enhance the player's experience during the game. It was more or less, just a catchy tune. However, when Koji Kondo wrote the music to Super Mario Bros, he created it as an active part of the game. This idea would help change game music forever.

I feel as if I don't need to give any comments on how to play this piece, but I will say that in the interest of not inundating the sheet music with dots everywhere, this song should be played staccato throughout the piece unless otherwise noted.

This piece has a lot of syncopation, but it is repetitive, so musicians with intermediate skills should be able to play this piece.

Scored for soprano, 3 altos, 2 tenors, and baritone saxophone.

Duration: 2.5 minutes

Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1247754 By Meghan Trainor. By Luis Federico Vindver, Megan Trainor, and Sean Douglas. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. 21st Century,Contemporary,Pop. 21 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #842308. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1247754). This catchy doo-wop song resonates with people with its familiar chord progressions and beat. Trainor co-wrote this song as part of a therapy exercise after she became insecure about her body after her pregnancy. While this is an instrumental version, the lyrics of this song promote self-love and self-confidence. The tune is quite repetitive, but it's fun to play and, if anything, is a good filler in between your more technically challenging pieces in your recital. Scored for saxophone choir - soprano, 3 altos, tenor, and 2 baritones. There are 2 percussion parts that are also optional, but these parts add quite a bit to the mood of the music. This song is just a feel-good, toe-tapping piece that is not difficult and quite entertaining.Duration: 2.25 minutes.
