Published by Rick Rangno (A0.954884). This arrangement is based on an old Irish air found in P.W. Joyce's collection Ancient Irish Music published in Dublin in 1873. In Irish folklore the leprehaun is portrayed as a little bearded man, wearing a green coat and hat, and who gets into all kinds of mischief. In general they are solitary creatures who spend their time as cobblers making and mending shoes and have a pot of gold hidden at the end of the rainbow. According to the legends, if you are lucky enough to find a leprehaun and catch him you can exchange his freedom for his treasure. But leprehauns can be a tricky...take your eyes off him for just a second and he'll be gone in a wink leaving you with nothing!This should be played quite boisterously and playfully. It could fit into many types of programs of a light nature. Ideal for St.Patrick's Day or children's concerts.

Published by JP Wogaman II (A0.945198). This piece is inspired by two river adventures from the days when I aspired to be a professional trumpet player. The first adventure was a kayaking trip on the Charles River in Boston, MA and the second was a tubing trip on the Huron River in Ann Arbor, MI. While lazily floating down these rivers with my friends, I imagined us with our instruments, laughing and playing. It is a joyful image that sticks with me to this day, however, I invite you to imagine your own fantasy while listening to this piece! A slightly different version of this piece premiered on May 25th, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Herndon, VA. This was one of two original compositions that I performed for my senior recital in high school. This version was premiered on March 28th, 2017 in Britton Recital Hall at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and was part of a student composer’s concert. ​More arrangements and originals by JP Wogaman II can be found at www.wogamusic.com

There, he is the music teacher at Westside Elementary in Clewiston. Concurrent with his duties at Westside, he also teaches private and group instrumental music lessons and preforms regularly with various professional ensembles throughout Southwest Florida. Burden holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an instrumental concentration from the Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. There he studied under world renowned saxophonist Mario Bernardo. He also holds an Associate of Arts degree with a Music Education and Saxophone Performance concentration from Eastern Florida State College where he was a student of James Bishop. During his time at the Bower School of music, he served as principle saxophonist in the FGCU Wind Orchestra, lead alto in the Jazz Band Flight: Jazz at FGCU, and played soprano saxophone in the Bower Saxophone Quartet. Alexander was selected to play tenor saxophone in the 2017 National Intercollegiate Band as well as principle alto saxophone in the 2017 Florida All-State Intercollegiate Band and tenor saxophone in the 2016 Florida All-State Intercollegiate Band. In November of 2015, Alexander participated in a critically acclaimed performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the FGCU Wind Orchestra.

Gilligan's Island is an American sitcom created and produced by Sherwood Schwartz.The series followed the comic adventures of seven castaways as they attempted to survive on an island on which they had been shipwrecked. Most episodes revolve around the dissimilar castaways' conflicts and their unsuccessful attempts, for whose failure Gilligan was frequently responsible, to escape their plight. Sherwood Schwartz not only created and produced Gilligan’s Island but he wrote the famous ear-worm theme song as well. One can argue that the demonstrative and jaunty theme song now precedes the show itself in terms of popularity. It is the theme song that lays out the premise of the show perfectly: Five passengers set sail from Hawaii aboard the S.S. Minnow, crewed by the quick-tempered Skipper Jonas Grumby and enthusiastic screw-up Gilligan. When a storm shipwrecks them on a deserted island, what was supposed to be a three-hour tour turns into a three-year limbo, the passengers forever on the verge of escape but never quite succeeding. For those who remember, this little novelty cannot fail to please performers and audiences alike.

Sweetwater Brass Press #4819845. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808695).   Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov composed his third opera, The Snow Maiden, during the period 1880-1881. Based on Alexander Ostrovsky’s play of the same name, The Snow Maiden uses fairy-tale characters to portray the opposing forces of nature, winter versus summer. Act 3 contains the Dance of the Skomorokhi. Skomorokhi were traveling performers in old Russia and, in connection with this composition, the term is usually translated as tumblers or clowns. Rimsky-Korsakov also included this selection as one of four movements he compiled into a concert suite based on the opera. Dance of the Tumblers has become one of his most frequently performed and best known pieces.  Light and uplifting, Dance of the Tumblers is vibrant, energetic and addictive. It takes the form of, as one commenter wrote, a classical sonata-structure, complete with development section, invigoratingly intensified reprise, and a veritable whirlwind of a coda. This brass quintet arrangement retains the original key signature of C but adjusts register to make the melodies accessible and playable. As a result, most notes are well within the normal playing range of the five brass instruments. Trumpet 1’s highest note is its A above the staff. At measures 132 and 133, Trumpet 2 has the option of playing some high notes (including one C above its staff) an octave down. Tuba plays mostly in the lowest register, with quite a few low F notes and one low E. Most instruments have some octave jumps, but all have a lot of notes to play in a very short time: many, many sixteenth notes. The score is marked Vivace, and the audio sample moves along at a pretty fast clip. But of course, the speed at which performers actually play the piece is up to them, a matter of interpretation.   This arrangement was completed in 2019, and performance time runs about 3 minutes, 38 seconds. Ten years later, when this Howard and Emerson tune was published, those cylinders were referred to as records, and Arthur Collins made the first recording of Hello! Ma Baby. The lyrics tell the tale of a guy who has a girlfriend he knows only through the telephone. This was one of the first songs to deal with the telephone (that medium, too, being still pretty new). The chorus was kicked back into the spotlight in 1955 when a certain movie frog sang and danced his way across a Warner Brothers cartoon background. The current version used the 1899 sheet music as its source, but is a completely original arrangement that enhances the ragtime feel of the music. This is an infectious piece that is fun to play and a toe-tapper for the audience. Completed in 2016, this arrangement’s performance time runs about 3 minutes, 20 seconds.
