Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1093770). Â Â Â Â The dictionary defines revel as â€œa time or instance of carefree fun.â€ The verb tipple refers to the imbibing of spirits. A tippler is one who drinks beer, wine, whiskey or other such spirituous liquids. So a tipplers revel would be a gathering of folks who, in the words of Dolly Partonâ€™s â€œTwo Doors Down,â€ are â€œlaughing and drinking and having a party.â€ Â Â Â Â This Tipplers Revel is a compilation of traditional drinking songs. It begins and ends with that bane of school trips, faculty sponsors, bus drivers and chaperones, â€œ99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.â€ And between those two bookends come â€œRye Whiskey,â€ â€œLittle Brown Jug,â€ â€œLandlord, Fill the Flowing Bowl,â€ â€œJimmy Crack Corn,â€ â€œBeer, Beer, Beer (An Ode to Charlie Mops, The Man Who Invented Beer),â€ â€œHot Time in the Old Town Tonight,â€ â€œWein, Weib und Gesang [Wine, Woman, and Song],â€ â€œDrink to Me Only with Thine Eyes,â€ â€œThere Is a Tavern in the Town,â€ â€œGood Night, Ladies,â€ â€œHow Dry I Am,â€ and brief quotes from about a half dozen other melodies associated with quaffing. Â Â Â Â For the most part, this arrangementâ€™s time signature is 4/4 and should be played at about 120 BPM. There are, however, two sections of 3/4 time, one of which is marked â€œtempo di valse,â€ and the opening and ending few measures should be played rather slowly. Â Â Â Â The music should be well within the normal range of the group. Possible exceptions: trumpets play their A above the staff a couple of times. Â Â Â Â There are quite a few 16th notes in the allegro sections. (And one could make the argument that at least two sections ought to have been written in 6/8 time. But they werenâ€™t.) Â Â Â Â Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 6 minutes, 43 seconds. The Dutch Composer, Johan B Kok (1889-1954), wrote over two- hundred compositions for different combinations of instruments, all of which included the Mandolin or the Mandolin Orchestra. â€˜Joskaâ€™, originally written for two Mandolins, Mandola and Guitar, bears the subtitle and style of the â€˜Zigeuner Romanceâ€™ or â€˜Gypsy Romanceâ€™, and it may well have been inspired by Montiâ€™s better known â€˜Czardasâ€™, which, significantly, was also originally written for Mandolin and Piano. Both pieces have contrasting slow and fast sections, which is typical of Central European â€˜tavern musicâ€™, commonly associated with Hungary. â€˜Czardasâ€™, of course, means â€˜tavernâ€™ in Hungarian.

Throughout the movementthere are a number of places where two ideas converge to become one. Opening witha fanfare-like gesture, the music then becomes more flowing before building up againto a climax.The second movement, Memorial Song, is a lyrical duet for flugelhorn and euphonium.The movement was not conceived as a specific memorial, but its lyrical and elegiacmood represents the many memorials that we all celebrate, both personal andcorporate.The third movement, Bridges to the Sky, celebrates Pittsburgh as a city of bridges. Published by Warren J Wernick (A0.948762). Blackadder is a series of four BBC One pseudohistorical British sitcoms, plus several one-off installments, which originally aired from 1983â€“1989. All television episodes starred Rowan Atkinson as the antihero Edmund Blackadder and Tony Robinson as Blackadder's dogsbody, Baldrick. Each series was set in a different historical period, with the two protagonists accompanied by different characters, though several reappear in one series or another, e.g., Melchett (Stephen Fry) and Lord Flashheart (Rik Mayall). The theme song is composed by Howard Goodall, an English composer of musicals, choral music and music for television. He also presents music-based programs for television and radio, for which he has won many awards. In May 2008, he was named as a presenter and Composer-in-Residence with the UK radio channel Classic FM. In May 2009, he was named Composer of the Year at the Classic BRIT Awards. Goodall said of the Theme, They asked me if I would have a go at the tune. With all of these things, although I do come up with my own ideas, you don't really come up with a good one unless you talk it through with them and the vision they've got. It was quite obvious, the historical approach they were going for. What's interesting is that the first series, the medieval one with 'Richard the Fourth', was much more filmic and much more historical. That's why we ended up with that tune. Whereas had the first series been the Elizabethan one, the theme would have been slightly gentler, less heroic. .
