Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.780808 Composed by Lyrics: Fanny J. Crosby and Music: W. H. Doane. Arranged by Cathy Stamegna. Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 5 pages. Cathy Stamegna #5357941. Published by Cathy Stamegna (A0.780808). Pass Me Not (or Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior) (Vocal Solo, Piano Accompaniment) is a lovely hymn of consolation. Verses 1, 2 are set traditionally, while Verses 3, 4 reflect a Gospel tone. However, performers may choose either or both styles, substituting the lyrics between the sections. Performance time will be five minutes if taking all the repeats. Graded Advanced Intermediate because of the vocal demands within the Gospel section. Early Intermediate Piano Solo also available. Piano accompaniment track available (sold separately) which contains both styles and all the repeats. Arranged during a time of social distance because of the coronavirus pandemic, and part of the Hymns of Comfort collection.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1084955 Composed by Emma Lazarus and Irving Berlin. Arranged by Charles A. Gravenhorst. Broadway,Holiday,Musical/Show,Patriotic,Standards. Score. 3 pages. CG Publications #689074. Published by CG Publications (A0.1084955). Irving Berlin’s moving and lyrical composition, based on the hopeful and compassionate poetry of Emma Lazarus, is carefully arranged for well-supporting Keyboard Accompaniment playable by pianists of even the most modest skills. This beautiful and patriotic anthem fully expresses the essence of the American experience and, although not as well-known as Berlin’s “God Bless America,†is equally powerful and delightfully singable. Very effective for Unison Chorus of Men, or Unison Mixed Voices. An arrangement for TTBB Voices with Tenor Solo (with this same accompaniment) is also available [https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/give-me-your-tired-your-poor-digital-sheet-music/22349018; https://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/en-US/se/ID_No/1200254/Product.aspx].

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.490747 Composed by Moises Mendoza. Contemporary. Score. 9 pages. Moises Mendoza #106472. Published by Moises Mendoza (A0.490747). Lyrics derived from a poem by Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) called Alone, which was written in 1829. From childhood's hour I have not been As others were—I have not seen As others saw—I could not bring My passions from a common spring— From the same source I have not taken My sorrow—I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone— And all I lov'd—I lov'd alone— Then—in my childhood—in the dawn Of a most stormy life—was drawn From ev'ry depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still— From the torrent, or the fountain— From the red cliff of the mountain— From the sun that 'round me roll'd In its autumn tint of gold— From the lightning in the sky As it pass'd me flying by— From the thunder, and the storm— And the cloud that took the form (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view—.

Stephen R Dalrymple #3070553. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818208). Song of the Recovering Perfectionist original song by Stephen R Dalrymple music © 1999 (© registered in 'Sacred Songs 1978-1999’ collection) recording ℗ 2020 Stephen R Dalrymple presentation © 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple sequenced by the composer ♫ At the age of 37, God used a good friend to reset my course in life and ministry. I learned a perfectionist is someone who is obsessed with doing things right so he or she can be accepted by others and that Jesus is not a perfectionist. I learned that perfectionism is one possible syndrome of rejection syndrome, and that the antidote to rejection syndrome is to learn to feel accepted in Jesus Christ. ♫ This journey has been extremely threatening but powerfully liberating. To be Christlike is to be accepting, not critical; to see potential in others, not continuously looking for flaws to pick; to be secure in my Heavenly Father, not trying to continuously please people and earn acceptance. ♫ I often sing this song to myself when I catch myself feeling rejected and/or acting in perfectionistic ways. ♫ Based on passages such as Romans 15:7 and Ephesians 1:3-6, this song celebrates the unconditional love of God and how learning to accept God's acceptance will help me pass acceptance and forgiveness on to others, allowing me to loosen the obsession to be 'perfect' and in control. ♫ This .pdf file includes 1) letter size lead sheet 2) vocal score with piano accompaniment, 3) lead sheet for 10 inch tablet, and vocal line with piano for 10 inch tablet. Voice and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8492-28E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. Instrument part. 6 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8492-28E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8492-28E). French.Gouvy was known for writing some of the most beautiful melodies of the Romantic period. His style is a combination of German forms and an early French romantic harmonic structure. His writing for the piano in the songs is totally unified in mood and description with the voice, just as the piano is in Schubert’s songs. The equal partnership of the vocal line and piano interact closely to bring the poetry vividly into life with unimaginable artistic heights and unbridled passion. This volume includes Gouvy songs set to 18 poems of Philippe Desportes (1546–1606), and 18 poems of Moritz Hartmann (1821–1872). The elements of Romantic love poetry, such as enchanting love and its pain, and the personifying of nature, are fluently described with a great sensitivity in both voice and piano. Gouvy’s melody stir up the imagination because of his special treatment of words through a distinguishable and melodious vocal line, and his story telling and poetic treatment and development of the piano accompaniment. His compositional artistry places him in the upper echelons of art-song composers. One should note that Gouvy had a special fondness for the 16th Century poetry of La Pléiade (a group of Renaissance French poets, led by Pièrre de Ronsard (1524–1585). Desportes was truly the heir to Ronsard; however his work, when compared to that of Ronsard, is filled with greater abstraction and greater fluidity. Desportes seems to avoid any of the passionate anger that is occasionally characteristic of La Pléiade. This may be an indication that Desportes lived in a less distressed time. It also seems necessary to point out that he learned much in his early career by copying and studying the earlier works of La Pléiade. This has led some scholars to label him as a plagiarist, but it is important to realize that all the members of La Pléiade copied from each other when they wished to learn something new, and truly understand the style of the other poets in the group. Gouvy’s only choice of poems from his contemporaries, were the works of Moritz Hartmann (1821–1872), a good friend of Gouvy’s. Much of his poetry was strongly political in support of freedom of the individual. He traveled to Leipzig in 1845, but when the authorities discovered a volume of patriotic poems entitled Kelch und Schwert (Chalice and Sword), he fled to Belgium and France. It is at this time that he possibly met Théodore Gouvy. Eighteen poems of Hartmann were translated from German to French by the French poet, Adolph Larmande, of whom very little is known. Pierre Toussaint Adolphe Larmande seems to have been a rather obscure poet and musician. We know that he taught music theory at the Paris Conservatory at the same time Anton Reicha and Michele Carafa were on the faculty. We also know that in 1847 he married an English woman by the name of Marie Caroline Bradley. There are random documents, such as a Certificate of Arrival in London, England, in 1837, but there are no birth and death dates given, and that includes his obituary notice.

Melissa J Hall #56IDSu1NTCeGnxxQXRuYuL. Published by Melissa J Hall (A0.1305516). Key: C major.Inspired by the story of Alma the Younger found in Alma 36:12-21. In The Book of Mormon 12 But I was racked with eternal torment, for my soul was harrowed up to the greatest degree and racked with all my sins. 13 Yea, I did remember all my sins and iniquities, for which I was tormented with the pains of hell; yea, I saw that I had rebelled against my God, and that I had not kept his holy commandments. 14 Yea, and I had murdered many of his children, or rather led them away unto destruction; yea, and in fine so great had been my iniquities, that the very thought of coming into the presence of my God did rack my soul with inexpressible horror. 15 Oh, thought I, that I could be banished and become extinct both soul and body, that I might not be brought to stand in the presence of my God, to be judged of my deeds. 16 And now, for three days and for three nights was I racked, even with the pains of a damned soul. 17 And it came to pass that as I was thus racked with torment, while I was harrowed up by the memory of my many sins, behold, I remembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world. 18 Now, as my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me, who am in the gall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting chains of death. 19 And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember my pains no more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more. 20 And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain! 21 Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1218192 Composed by Carrie Jacobs-Bond. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Romantic Period,Wedding. Score. 6 pages. Phil Beaman #814689. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1218192). Walking In Her Garden is an arrangement of the 1904 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond. Â The text compares his lover to the beautiful flowers. Â Then she starts talking to the flowers, asking them about her lover. Â It concludes with the famous he loves me...he loves me not.... as she plucks the petals from the daisy. Â My arrangement adds quite a bit of drama to the piece. Â I have converted the main theme into an oom-pah-pah waltz and greatly increased the tempo to a brisk concert waltz for the first two verses. Â The B theme, where she talks to the flowers, resorts to a slower waltz ballad similar to the original. Â There is then a brief recapitulation of the oom-pah-pah theme building up to the suspenseful climax. Â I created a lento ending as the answers to her questions slowly unfold. Â This is a great concert piece full of passion and energy that can be dramatized. Â It is also perfect for any wedding today, whether vintage or modern.6 page score; Â 2:30 minutesI have published it in 3 different vocal ranges on this site: Â High - low D to high F#; Medium - low Bb to high D; Low - low G to high B. Â The MP3 recording is of the Medium Voice version. Â Vocal part is Intermediate level, while Piano part is Advanced Intermediate level. Â This piece is also found in my book, Vintage Wedding Songs, a collection of 5 songs which is also available on this site.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314982 Composed by William Kersten. Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score. 23 pages. William Kersten #903730. Published by William Kersten (A0.1314982). Inspired by the Victorian and Romantic poetry of Christina Rossetti, Anne Bronte, Thomas Hood and Thomas Beddoes, the Five songs form a cycle of joy, sadness, love, death and exultation.  The music is scored in two versions: Normal Vocal Range and Wide Vocal Range.1. A Birthday Christina Rossetti (1830-1894) My heart is like a singing bird Whose nest is in a watered shoot; My heart is like an apple-tree Whose boughs are bent with thick-set fruit; My heart is like a rainbow shell That paddles in a halcyon sea; My heart is gladder than all these Because my love is come to me. Raise me a dais of silk and down; Hang it with vair and purple dyes; Carve it in doves and pomegranates, And peacocks with a hundred eyes; Work it in gold and silver grapes, In leaves and silver fleurs-de-lys; Because the birthday of my life Is come, my love is come to me. 2. Echo Christina RossettiCome to me in the silence of the night; Come in the speaking silence of a dream; Come with soft rounded cheeks and eyes as bright As sunlight on a stream; Come back in tears, Oh memory, hope, love of finished years. Oh dream how sweet, too sweet, too bitter sweet, Whose wakening should have been in Paradise, Where souls brimfull of love abide and meet; Where thirsting longing eyes Watch the slow door That opening, letting in, lets out no more. Yet come to me in dreams, that I may live My very life again though cold in death - Come back to me in dreams, that I may give Pulse for pulse, breath for breath: Speak low, lean low, As long ago, my love, how long ago. 3. There is dew...â€Thomas Hood (1799-1845)There is dew for the flowret And honey for the bee, And bowers for the wild bird, And love for you and me. There are tears for the many And pleasures for the few; But let the world pass on, dear, There's love for me and you. 4. We do lie beneath the grass...â€Thomas Beddoes (1803-1849) We do lie beneath the grass In the moonlight, in the shade Of the yew-tree. They that pass Hear us not. We are afraid They would envy our delight, in our graves by glow-worm night. Come follow us, and smile as we; We sail to the rock in the ancient waves, Where the snow falls by thousands into the sea, And the drowned and the shipwrecked have happy graves.  5. My soul is awakened...â€Â Anne Bronte (1820-1849)My soul is awakened, my spirit is soaring And carried aloft on the wings of the breeze, For above and around me the wild wind is roaring Arousing to rapture the earth and the seas. The long withered grass in the sunshine is glancing, The bare trees are tossing their branches on high, The dead leaves beneath them are merrily dancing The white clouds are scudding across the blue sky. I wish I could see how the ocean is lashing The foam of its billows to whirlwinds of spray, I wish I could see how its proud waves are dashing, And hear the wild roar of their thunder today.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.809438 By The Moody Blues. By Justin Hayward. Arranged by Academia Unimusica. Rock. Score. 3 pages. Unimusic Academy (Academia Unimusica) #6265977. Published by Unimusic Academy (Academia Unimusica) (A0.809438). Nights in White Satin is a song by the Moody Blues, written and composed by Justin Hayward. It was first featured as the segment The Night on the album Days of Future Passed. When first released as a single in 1967, it reached number 19 on the UK Singles Chart and number 103 in the United States in 1968. It was the first significant chart entry by the band since Go Now and its recent lineup change, in which Denny Laine and Clint Warwick had resigned and both Hayward and John Lodge had joined. When reissued in 1972, in the United States the single hit number two for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 (behind I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash) and hit number one on the Cash Box Top 100. It earned a gold certification for sales of over a million US copies (platinum certification was not instituted until 1976). It also hit number one in Canada. After two weeks at #2, it was replaced by I'd Love You to Want Me by Lobo. It reached its highest UK position this year at number 9. Although the song did not enter the official New Zealand chart, it reached #5 on the New Zealand Listener's chart compiled from the readers' votes in 1973.[4] The song enjoyed a recurring chart presence in the following decades. It charted again in the UK and Ireland in 1979 reaching #14 and #8, respectively. The song charted again in 2010, reaching number 51 in the British Official Singles Charts.[5] It has also been covered by numerous other artists, most notably Giorgio Moroder, Elkie Brooks, and Sandra.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1180574 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Chamber,Contemporary. Score. 24 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #780478. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.1180574). John Cage and I share the same birthday: September 5th. He was born in 1912 and my birth year is 1945. There must be some cosmological link between us because he has always intrigued me - philosophically and musically. Recently I was in my colleague Prof. Jeremiah McGrann's office waiting for him to join me for a martini lunch after a day of teaching. I noticed on his desk a hardcover copy of John Cage I-VI. I asked what it was and he said it is John Cage's Charles Elliot Norton Lecture he gave at Harvard University in 1988-89. I looked inside and there were these mesostics. Very sparsely distributed on each page, and it looked fascinating, like some hieroglyphic art. I was immediately intrigued by it and thought right on the spot that I should buy a copy and maybe create a song cycle from the texts. Upon further research, I found out that John Cage compiled the content for his lecture using excerpts from works by Thoreau, Emerson, Wittgenstein, McLuhan, Buckminster Fuller, plus passages from The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor and The New York Times. He then created the final text for his lecture by using chance operations with the assistance of a computer program that he created. And so I did the unthinkable, create a song cycle of words that has no meaning nor narrative in the traditional sense. Quoting John Cage: I have nothing to say, I am saying it, and that is poetry. John Cage I-VI (2023) is in six movements, scored for soprano and piano.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1493833 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,21st Century,Chamber,Classical. Score. 63 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #1070490. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.1493833). Full score.Program note. While looking for more poems to set in Italian, I thought maybe Italo Calvino had written some. Unfortunately he did not, but in the process of my research I stumbled upon Cesare Pavese, 1908-1950. To know a bit more about this person, I contacted my Italian colleague, Giorgio Rimondi, who is a professor in Ferrara, Italy. Giorgio gave me a nice summary of Pavese's life and work. So I went on Amazon and bought a bilingual book of his poems: Disaffections. The poems that intrigued me the most were the ones he wrote for his paramour, the American model and actress, Constance Dowling. The last poem he wrote before he committed suicide at the age of 41 was dedicated to her: Death will come and will have your eyes. I chose that poem as the anchor of a set of eight poems for the song cycle. 1. Ancora tu sei l'amore 2. To C. from C.*** 3. In the morning you always come back 4. Verrà la morta e avrà i tuoi occhi 5. Passerò per Piazza di Spagna 6. The night you slept 7. I gatti lo sapranno 8. Last blues, to be read some day*** NB: Two of the poems with *** are originally in English. I thought an English setting within a song cycle that is Italian would be a bit jarring. So I asked my friend Giorgio if he could make me an Italian version of the poems. He instead informed me that Italo Calvino had already made a literal translation of those two English poems. Thanks, Giorgio and Italo.

A song of comfort about God's abiding care. There's never been a friend so dear than He Who conquers all my fears.A friend Who's constant and so near - He's always there, He's always there. When my faith seems small and weak, then His promises I'll seek. And through His Word, I'll hear Him speak. He's always there. He's always there. For every hour of every day, He'll walk beside you all the way. For every minute that passes by, throughout your life, He will abide. There's not a moment that He's not there to guide your steps and show His care.So take it to the Lord in prayer, He's always there. He's always there.Oh, how wonderful to know that my Father loves me so.No matter where on earth I go, He's always there, He's always there. And when my journey here's complete, I'll worship at my Savior's feet. Forever in that land so sweet. He's always there. He's always there.  For every hour of every day, He'll walk beside you all the way. For every minute that passes by, throughout your life, He will abide. There's not a moment that He's not there to guide your steps and show His care.So take it to the Lord in prayer, He's always there. Published by Barabba Music (A0.1381060). A song for soprano and pianoText by Helen Keller from her Essay Optimism WithinWritten for Ann MossText:Once I knew the depth where no hope was, and darkness lay on the face of all things. Then love came and set my soul free.  Once I knew only darkness and stillness. Now I know hope and joy. Once I fretted and beat myself against the wall that shut me in. Now I rejoice in the consciousness that I can think, act and attain heaven. My life was without past or future; death, the pessimist would say, a consummation devoutly to be wished. But a little word from the fingers of another fell into my hand that clutched at emptiness, and my heart leaped to the rapture of living. Night fled before the day of thought, and love and joy and hope came up in a passion of obedience to knowledge. Can anyone who escaped such captivity, who has felt the thrill and glory of freedom, be a pessimist?Darkness cannot shut me in again.

We walked through fields and forests, We’d hit the trail in sun and wind and rain When I was at my lowest, you licked my hand and raised me up again But time passed much too quickly, and you know just what you did You took a piece of my broken heart beyond the rainbow bridge. I’m not sure what heaven’s like , I’m not sure how things will be But if we won’t be together, it won’t feel like heaven to me But if the Lord be willing, I’ll hear your welcome bark again, And see you running to me, through the golden fields of grain Most faithful of companions, you’d been with me in sickness and in health You always loved to see me, even when I couldn’t really love myself And when you licked my hand that one last time Then you know just what you did You took a piece of my broken heart beyond the rainbow bridgeYou took a piece of my broken heart beyond the rainbow bridge.www.sites.google.com/site/davidwkaismusic

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.983990 Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Christian,Pop. Score. 7 pages. Boothe Publishing #4360789. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.983990). 1st Kings 19: Verses 11 & 12When Elijah the Prophet of God killed all the false prophets of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel, the Queen promised to kill him by sundown the next day. He fled for his life and ran for 40 days and 40 nights all the way to Mount Horeb, the mount of God. When he arrived, the Lord asked him what he was doing there. When he explained it to the Lord, the Lord told him to go stand out upon the mountain before Him. And behold the Lord passed by and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; But the Lord was not in the wind: And after the wind an earthquake; But the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; But the Lord was not in the fire: And after the fire a still small voice. God wasn't in the mighty wind. God wasn't in the terrible earthquake. God wasn't in the fire. God was the still small voice. That is where I can find Him still. That is what makes me responsible for my actions. I have the still small voice telling me what is right and what is wrong. It is called, the light of Christ. It is revelation from God. I can try to drown it out and pretend I don't hear it. However, pretending doesn't alter the fact that God's still small voice is always there for those who will listen.

The idea came from one of the first Bible passages I memorized in Sunday school as a child. It’s one of my favorite passages and I’m so thankful for my Sunday school teacher that encouraged memorization so many years ago.I hope that you enjoy Psalm 100 (Make A Joyful Noise).
