By Jimmy Giuffre. Arranged by James Pybus. Score, Set of Parts. 24 pages. Published by James Pybus
Woody Herman recorded this song with his second Herd on December 27,1947 for Columbia records. Jimmy Giuffre wrote it and arranged it based on the chord changes of Jeepers Creepers. It originally featured the reedsection: three tenors and one baritone saxophone. The order of solos was ZootSims, Serge Chaloff, Herbie Steward, and Stan Getz. All four played in thelight vibrato style of their idol, Lester Young. This arrangement is playable by either SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet. Each voice gets a chance to solo. This would be a good way to feature your saxophone section on a band concert program. Duration is 2:57. Contact me at james.pybus@rogers.com.

SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by traditional Japanese folk song. Arranged by James Pybus. Repertoire, Folk, Asian, Wedding, Recital. Score, Set of Parts. 11 pages. Published by James Pybus
Sakura Sakura ("Cherry blossoms, cherry blossoms"), also known as Sakura, is a traditional Japanese folk song depicting spring, the season of cherry blossoms. Contrary to popular belief, the song did not originate in ancient times; it was a popular, urban melody of the Edo period and was adopted as a piece for beginning koto students in the Tokyo Academy of Music Collection of Japanese Koto Music issued in 1888 (in English) by the Department of Education. The song has been popular since the Meiji period, and the lyrics in their present form were attached then. It is often sung in international settings as a song representative of Japan. This setting for SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet serves as a relaxing, contrasting recital piece. The duration is 4:38. Please contact me at james.pybus@rogers.com.

By George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Richard Starkey. Arranged by James Pybus. Contemporary,Pop,Rock. 18 pages. James Pybus #1027268. Published by James Pybus (A0.1447488). Now and Then is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 2 November 2023. Dubbed the last Beatles song, it appeared on a double A-side single, paired with a new stereo remix of the band's first single, Love Me Do (1962), with the two serving as bookends to the band's history. Both songs were included on the expanded re-issues of the 1973 compilations 1962–1966 and 1967–1970, released on 10 November 2023.The song is a psychedelic soft rock ballad that John Lennon wrote in the late 1970s. He recorded a solo five-minute piano demo around 1977 on a tape recorder at his home in the Dakota building in New York City; it was left unfinished. The final version features additional lyrics by McCartney. Lennon's voice was extracted from the demo using the machine-learning-assisted audio restoration technology commissioned by Peter Jackson for his 2021 documentary The Beatles: Get Back. Jackson also directed the music video for Now and Then. The song received much critical acclaim. This arrangement for SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet is suitable for a variety of performance settings and should be appealing to audiences of all ages. The performance time is 3:46. Pierre Leemans, Dutch: Pieter Leemans, (1897 – 1980) was a Belgian musician and composer. He worked in a variety of genres, including orchestral and choral music, film scores, and songs, but is best known for his marches. The March of the Belgian Paratroopers (Marche des Parachutistes Belges) is especially popular. While Leemans was serving in the Belgian army during World War 1, on a request from his commander he began to write a march, which he did not finish. During World War 2, when the Belgian parachute brigade was formed, he was having dinner with a group of paratroopers and was again asked to compose a march. During one single night Leemans composed this march on themes recalled from his earlier effort. This arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet is suitable for a variety of performance and concert settings. The duration is 2:34. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1277736 Composed by William Ross (1762-1791). Arranged by James Pybus. Celtic,Chamber,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,Wedding,World. 18 pages. James Pybus #869418. Published by James Pybus (A0.1277736). The Skye Boat Song is a late 19th-century Scottish song adaptation of a Gaelic song composed c.1782 by William Ross, entitled Cuachag nan Craobh (Cuckoo of the Tree). In the original song, the composer laments to a cuckoo that his unrequited love, Lady Marion Ross, is rejecting him. The 19th-century English lyrics instead evoked the journey of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) from Benbecula to the Isle of Skye as he evaded capture by government soldiers after his defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746. It is often played as a slow lullaby or waltz. It entered the modern folk canon in the twentieth century with versions by Paul Robeson, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Roger Whittaker, Tori Amos, and many others. Bear McCreary adapted the song as the opening theme music of the 2014 TV series Outlander, sung by Raya Yarbrough, changing the text of Robert Louis Stevenson's poem Sing Me a Song of a Lad That Is Gone (1892) to Lass to fit the story. This arrangement for SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet is suitable for a wide variety of performance and concert settings. The duration is 4:13. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764692 Composed by Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924). Arranged by James Pybus. Contest,Festival,Opera,Romantic Period. 9 pages. James Pybus #4355739. Published by James Pybus (A0.764692). E lucevan le stelle (When the stars were brightly shining) is the romanza of Mario Cavaradossi, the tenor, a painter in love with Tosca, in the third act of Puccini's opera Tosca, composed in 1899 to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. It is sung by Cavaradossi while he waits for his execution on the roof of Castel Sant’Angelo.  The aria is introduced by a somber clarinet solo. The incipit of the melody (heard in outline earlier in the act, as the sky lightens and the gaoler prepares for the execution) is repeated on the lines O dolci baci, o languide carezze (With sweetest kisses, tenderest caresses), and also restated in forte in the closing bars of the opera, as Tosca jumps from the ramparts. This arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet will allow your audience to enjoy one of the most well-known arias in all of Opera while at the same time giving your quartet a chance to demonstrate your versatility. Performance time is ca. 2:11. Please contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.
