Die damals sehr angesagten „Techno-Nights inspirierten mich zu diesem Stück. Ein rhythmischer Drive und ein permanenter Wechsel des Pulses jagen in Höchstgeschwindigkeit (180 Schläge pro Minute) vorüber. Die Struktur verdichtet sich zu einer Studie über einen Akkord, der im Prinzip das gesamte Stück hindurch variiert, aber in seinem Tonmaterial unverändert bleibt. Bis sich schließlich das Stück verdichtet zu einem sechs-stimmigen Kanon, der von der ersten Violine bis zum dritten Violoncello wandert und dabei zwischen Dur- und Moll-Terz pendelt. Good Morning Good Morning is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It was written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. Inspiration for the song came to Lennon from a television commercial for Kellogg's Corn Flakes.Another reference to contemporary television was the lyric It's time for tea and Meet the Wife, referring to the BBC sitcom. Lennon himself was critical of the track. It's a throwaway, a piece of garbage, I always thought, he once said. I always had the TV on very low in the background when I was writing, and it came over, and then I wrote the songThe song is played at 117 beats per minute, has an unusual rhythmic feel, and uses different time signatures. Beats are played in groups of 2, 3 and 4, and time signature changes frequently. Parts with 5/4 and 4/4 bars alternate, with 3/4 transitions.Most of the song uses simple time, where the beats are divided into two, but the middle eight sections use compound time, where the beats are divided into triplets.

L'adieu des bergers (The Shepherds' Farewell) from 'L'enfance du Christ', composed by Hector Berlioz (1803-1869), arranged by Paul Burnell in 2012 for recorder orchestra:Two Soprano Recorders, two Alto Recorders, two Tenor Recorders, two Bass Recorders, Great Bass Recorder, Contrabass Recorder. Performance tempos of the original composition are often slower than the published metronome mark of 50 beats per minute, typically resulting in a duration of around three to four minutes. The orginal key is E major, but in this arrangement it has been transposed up a semitone to F Major. If there is a single Contrabass recorder in the bars marked divisi the lower note should be played. Programme note: L'enfance du Christ is an oratorio by the French composer Hector Berlioz first performed in 1854. 'L'adieu des bergers' (The shepherds' farewell) was written as an organ piece in 1850. In the oratorio it appears in Part Two and is probably the most well-known movement, often performed separately.

Moats (A0.919914). This arrangement for Young String Orchestra of the traditional Bell Carol is written in the key of D minor. It is all bowed and is intended to move along at a pace of 112 beats per minute and runs about two minutes. All parts have some notes that should be played détaché . The violins have the eighth note runs in the bridge section each time, requiring B naturals and C sharps. Although the carol was composed by Mykola Leontovych in the early 1900's, it is based on a four note ostinato taken from ancient Ukranian folk sources. The piano part is not necessary for performance but can be used to add rhythmic, melodic and harmonic reinforcement. It is also highly effective as an encore (depending on endurance, particularly of the first trumpeter and hornist), leaving the audience with a rush and energy typified by an effective encore. Besides some minor edits and formatting, the composition was completed the day I hit my ten-year anniversary of serving in the United States Air Force Bands—a fitting anthem to celebrate a decade of service to my wonderful country! The title settled the next day as I began my second decade as an Airman Musician: Valor. The best account is recorded in my personal journal on 27 April 2021: “[Valor] is the Thrower family motto from hundreds of years ago. It’s also a concept that helped get me into [Arizona State University] for my doctoral studies. [Professor] Hickman asked for a very difficult orchestral excerpt during my audition. [Béla Bartók’s “Concerto for Orchestra.â€] I expressed some trepidation, but decided to give it a shot. I nailed it! Then Hickman turned to me with a big smile, ‘I give extra points for valor!’ So I’m pretty sure this little two-minute musical journal entry will keep the name ‘Valor’… as a motivational cheer for my next ten years in the Air Force. Valor! Great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle. Ok, in the face of life’s many battles, Valor it is! And on to the next ten years!†The music is in AA’BA’ form. The B section is heavily influenced by the thematic material of the A section, but with a strongly contrasting mood that could be dubbed quiet dignity. A finale section follows the last A with some motivic twists from throughout the piece, decisively ending with a power that could well be accompanied by a dazzling flurry of fireworks. None of the performers get much of a reprieve throughout the two minutes packed full of notes. The first trumpet part stays in the upper mid-range for most of it, which would absolutely sparkle on an E-flat trumpet (alternate part provided). Second trumpet is also demanding. The horn part demands a decent level of mastery in the high range as well as the low range, vehemently forsaking its traditional role of off beats. The trombone and tuba parts also present their challenges, and never really stop longer than to take a breath. Although this work could conceivably be performed without percussion, doing so is strongly discouraged. The power delivered by the snare, bass, and cymbals, and even the triangle in the B section, make the part arguably indispensable.

Your accompanist will like the way the pizzicato rhythmic figures in the string section have been fleshed out with notes on strong beats to help make the rhythm fit the hand better.Of course, it would be a great show-piece for social and civic events; its inspiring message would even serve in church-related functions. It may take a bit longer to get all of it under the fingers, as anything worth showing off would demand. Keep your eye open for performance opportunities for social groups tackling issues like depression and self-image. But as the song says, Wake up, wake up!
