Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030882 Composed by Elizabeth Raum. Contemporary. Score and parts. 58 pages. Elizabeth Raum #38933. Published by Elizabeth Raum (A0.1030882). This Fanfare is meant to commemorate the Centenary of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan with the events of the first 100 years being represented as echoes of fanfares. The piece begins with a clarion call from the brass, the fanfares of the present culminating in the Maestoso. Then the music becomes more distant, fanfares of the past played by woodwinds and muted brass. The transition brings us back to the present with the return to the full band’s salute to Saskatchewan’s Centennial.

Arizona Centennial Overture - Chamber Orchestra Version

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.755102 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 107 pages. Sy Brandon #3384583. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.755102). Arizona Centennial Overture was commissioned by the Arizona Commission on the Arts as part of the Centennial Legacy Project to help celebrate Arizona’s centennial. There are three versions of the compositions, chamber orchestra, full orchestra, and band. The overture pays tribute to the unique blend of the various cultures that had a part in shaping Arizona into what it is today. This six and a half minute composition is divided into three main sections. The first section begins with fanfares that announce the celebration. After thirty seconds, the introduction fades into music that pays tribute to the pioneers that migrated to Arizona. The music has a rustic quality reflecting the pioneering spirit of the ranchers, farmers, miners, and merchants who came to Arizona seeking a better way of life. This section is intended to be inclusive as it is impossible to represent each culture individually in a short musical composition. The second section pays tribute to the various Native American cultures that are a large part of Arizona’s history and its present way of life. Flutes and percussion instruments are used in the beginning of this section to represent the Native American respect for nature. This quiet section evolves into a ceremonial dance that increases in intensity. Towards the end of this section one hears fragments of the pioneer melody as these culture come together. The third section is influenced by Mariachi music to recognize the Hispanic influence in Arizona. The first part uses an original rollicking tune with four beats to the measure over syncopation. The second part contains a lyrical melody with three beats to the measure accompanied by instruments playing accents that create the Hispanic sounding grouping of six notes into three groups of two alternating with two groups of three. A brief ending using the fanfares of celebration interspersed with figures from the Native American and pioneer sections brings the work to a rousing close. The score prints on legal size paper and the parts on letter.

Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799663 Composed by D. M. Gardner. Contemporary. Octavo. 34 pages. D. M. Gardner Music #3370301. Published by D. M. Gardner Music (A0.799663). CHORAL SCORE***FULL SCORE and INSTRUMENTAL PARTS SOLD SEPARATELY***Nebraska, My Heartland was written to not only celebrate 150 years of Nebraskan history, but to express my own gratitude for all that the Midwestern way of life has to offer. It celebrates the natural beauty of the Sandhills, prairies, forests, and bluffs, along with the strength of its people, its flourishing family friendly communities, and its deep and rich traditions in the arts. I have lived near mountains, near oceans, and visited some of the most beautiful places in the world, but none of those places have ever felt as much like home as Nebraska. Nebraska, My Heartland incorporates the poetry of both Willa Cather, the famous Nebraskan poet and writer who helped the rest of America gain an appreciation for the pioneer life, and Veronica Torraca-Bragdon, a contemporary poet and friend whose heart will always belong to Nebraska. Cather’s poem, Prairie Spring was chosen because it vividly portrays the struggles of the pioneers who originally settled here, yet juxtaposes this struggle with youthful determination, and the optimism and enthusiasm brought about by hope. Veronica’s poem, titled Nebraska, is the centerpiece for the fanfare and celebration of a state that abounds with success in all of the ways that make Nebraska a great place to live. The music begins as the sun is about to rise and burst forth with the promise of a new day. It speaks of Nebraska’s natural beauty and landscapes while the sweet song of the Western Meadowlark, our state bird, drifts on the wind. Next, the changing seasons and thriving spirit of Nebraska’s people are portrayed with an energetic, youthful melody leading into a celebratory sesquicentennial fanfare. But as the seasons change, the listener is reminded that to thrive is also to persevere, and soon a storm begins to loom. First the rolling thunder, then the rain, and finally the full devastation of nature’s fury are realized by the combined forces of both ensembles. Yet, as hope springs eternal, we are reminded again of the strength of the pioneer and the roots that keep us anchored against the storm. Out of this resilience bursts forth a brilliant light signifying the future that is before us for this generation and the next, ending with words that summarize so eloquently how Nebraskans feel about their home: With loving beauty, you’ll forever shine!INSTRUMENTATION1 Piccolo2 Flute 12 Flute 22 Flute 31 Oboe 11 Oboe 21 Bassoon 11 Bassoon 24 Bb Clarinet 14 Bb Clarinet 24 Bb Clarinet 32 Bb Bass Clarinet1 Eb Alto Saxophone 11 Eb Alto Saxophone 21 Bb Tenor Saxophone1 Eb Baritone Saxophone 3 Bb Trumpet 1 3 Bb Trumpet 2 3 Bb Trumpet 3 3 Bb Trumpet 4 1 F Horn 1 1 F Horn 2 1 F Horn 3 1 F Horn 42 Trombone 12 Trombone 22 Bass trombone3 Euphonium B.C. / Baritone T.C. 6 Tuba 1 Timpani (4 drums) 5 PERCUSSIONSuspended CymbalCrash Cymbal,Wind Chimes,Orchestral Chimes,Snare Drum (3 if available), Bass Drum, *Wind Machine (optional),*Suspended Thundersheet (as available), *Large Timpani Drumhead 1 PITCHED PERCUSSION Glockenspiel,Marimba SATB & Rehearsal PianoTo learn more about the composer, please visit https://www.dmgardner.com

The movements, Call of the Mockingbird, Trail of Tears, and Fanfare for the Volunteer reflect on broad themes relating to the history and culture of the state. The work was released in 1999 on a cd for Sony Classical performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra titled by its final movement Fanfare for the Volunteer.Call of the Mockingbird; The evocations of nature and landscape. In the course of its many voicings (both literal and figurative), the theme evokes a broad range of images, from the bird of the title to the ruggedness of the Appalachian terrain.Trail of Tears; The tragedy of the forced migration of the Cherokee Indians in 1838-39. An episode in American history, the work incorporates aspects of Native American, Celtic and Central European traditions within the broader context of a symphonic composition.Fanfare for the Volunteer; The fierce and bittersweet pride of the southeastern United States. Perhaps, the clearest blending of O’Connor’s background as a traditional fiddler with his more recent work as a symphonic composer. The occasional hints of Irish balladry evoke nothing so much as the keenest sense of longing.-Jackson Braider(The music is suited for advanced levels) Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1994-95 Composed by Mark O’ConnorCommissioned by the Nashville Symphony OrchestraCan be heard on Fanfare for the Volunteer! Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1298694 Composed by Phil Beaman. Contest,Festival,March,Multicultural,Patriotic,World. Score and Parts. 61 pages. Phil Beaman #888572. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1298694). CompositionThis piece was commissioned to celebrate the 200th Anniversary (Bicentennial) of the founding of the city of Franklin, Indiana. Â This piece opens with a bold brass fanfare introduction, then it has a 16 bar excerpt from a famous Fred Jewell march. Â Franklin has a long history of community bands and a Jewell march would have been a characteristic sound over the past 100 years. Â And furthermore there is a direct link to this town since in 1927 Fred Jewell was appointed Director of the Masonic Home Band in Franklin, (and Jewell also happens to be a cousin of this composer!) Â The middle Chorale section of this composition has woven in 11 very short quotes from known songs that will remind listeners of Franklin institutions or values and virtues that helped build the town. Â The final section is pure celebration in the form of a Caribbean calypso. Â InstrumentationFlute; Piccolo; Clarinet; Alto Saxophone 1,2; Tenor Saxophone; Baritone Saxophone; Trumpet 1,2,3; French Horn; Euphonium/Baritone Horn 1,2; Trombone, 1,2; Tuba; Percussion (suspended cymbal, snare drum, bass drum, floor tom, cowbell, woodblock)19 page score, 42 pages of parts2:35 minutestemporary upload of a mediocre MIDI recording
