Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742428 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Baroque,Concert,Standards,World. Score and parts. 125 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #3682165. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742428). The Concerti Grossi, Op. 6, or Twelve Grand Concertos, HWV 319–330, are 12 concerti grossi by George Frideric Handel for aconcertino trio of two violins and violoncello and a ripieno four-part string orchestra with harpsichord continuo. First published by subscription in London by John Walsh in 1739, in the second edition of 1741 they became Handel's Opus 6. Taking the olderconcerto da chiesa and concerto da camera of Arcangelo Corelli as models, rather than the later three-movement Venetian concerto of Antonio Vivaldi favoured by Johann Sebastian Bach, they were written to be played during performances of Handel's oratorios and odes. Despite the conventional model, Handel incorporated in the movements the full range of his compositional styles, including trio sonatas, operatic arias, French overtures, Italian sinfonias, airs, fugues, themes and variations and a variety of dances. The concertos were largely composed of new material: they are amongst the finest examples in the genre of baroque concerto grosso.Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concerti_grossi,_Op._6_(Handel)

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.947256 Arranged by John Philips. Children,Jazz. Score and parts. 54 pages. John Philips Music Service #1999219. Published by John Philips Music Service (A0.947256). The purpose of this arrangement is to furnish material for a Junior High or Senior High Orchestra to use in playing a concerts for the Kindergarten/1st Grade/2nd Grade and 3rd Grade Kids. This gives the players an chance to play a fun concert for people they know---and is also a great recruiting tool for future orchestra members. The tunes are all ones that the younger kids know , or should know. A suggested plan for doing this is on the back cover--a list of the 20 tunes is included. This is one of a series of charts for string orchestra that are easy to play and each relate to a single theme---patriotic, ethnic, activity, holiday or age related songs. Being easy to play---nothing past an eighth note and no hemi-demi-semi-quavers--they will be more apt to be in tune and this is good for all concerned. They all are in tempo and have a swing feeling to them to make your audience like them. After all--this is about making music and not displaying technique. Parts are Violin 1 & 2 / Violin 3 (Viola Part) / Viola /Cello / Optional Acoustic Guitar (No Electrics) / Bass / Piano / Full Score / Front & Back Covers. Bass and piano are required to make these arrangements work. See the back cover for the tune list and tempos. Electric bass will work if read---sometimes you can convert and electric bass player to a string bass or cello player--but you have to talk fast !!!!

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1183534 Composed by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de St. Georges. Arranged by Robert Debbaut. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. 28 pages. ROBERT DEBBAUT #783207. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.1183534). How is it that one can be born a slave in French colonial Guadeloupe and rise to be among Paris’ musical giants, to become a colonel in the French Army as well as the frequent dinner guest of princes and potentates? The story of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, is surely an interesting one, even the stuff of which movies are made.Joseph Bologne’s father, Georges Bologne de Saint-Georges was a French planter. Saint-Georges was the name of his plantation. He impregnated Anne, the Senegalese slave of his wife, who bore him a son in 1745. Uncharacteristic of many of these sort of relationships he acknowledged the child was his and gave him his family name. When he was seven Bologne’s father took him to Paris for his education, enrolling him in a boarding school. Two years later he and the child’s mother returned to France and set up housekeeping as a family in Paris’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. At age thirteen Joseph’s father enrolled him in the Royal Technical Academy of Fencing and Swordsmanship. He quickly became the finest swordsman in the academy, perhaps in all of Paris. Upon graduation he was made an Officer of the King’s Bodyguard and a chevalier (an honorary knighthood). He went on to serve tours of duty in the French Army during the Seven Years War (1756-1763) and later after the French Revolution, where he was Colonel and commander of an all-Black regiment of the Revolutionary Army. All this in spite of the fact that French law forbade him, a man of African heritage, to become a citizen, to retain his father’s royal title of “Gentleman of the King’s Chamber,†or to marry outside his class. There is limited information about Bologne’s musical training, but he was obviously so well-skilled that Italian violinist-composer Antonio Lolli (1725-1802) wrote two violin concertos for him and French composer François-Joseph Gossec (1734-1829) dedicated his set of String Trios, Op. 9 to Bologne. Lolli may have worked with him on violin technique and Gossec composition, but this may be apocryphal. Bologne played in Gossec’s orchestra, and was later both leader and conductor of the group. As a composer Joseph Bologne was quite prolific, composing six operas, fourteen violin concertos, four symphonies concertantes, and numerous chamber works and songs. His Six String Quartets, Op. 1, Nos. 1-6 date from 1770-1771 and were published by the Paris publishing house of Jean-Georges Sieber (1738-1822) in 1773 (There are a total of 18 quartets: Six Quartets “au goût du jour†[up-to-date] from 1779 and the Opus 14 set of six which date from 1785). The Opus 1 quartets are dedicated to Anne Louis Alexandre de Montmorency (1724-1812), 7th Prince of Robeck (Robecq) and Grand Duke of Spain. The Opus 1 quartets all display a similarity to the Italian opera overtures from earlier in the Eighteenth Century (often called “sinfoniaâ€) in that they have an overall “A-B-A†form with the ‘A’ sections being robust allegros and all ‘B’ sections marked “rondo.†As such, in arranging them for string orchestra it seemed quite natural to rename them “overtures.†Certain liberties were taken by the arranger in order to maintain the integrity of the classic Rondo formula. All six have been arranged in this manner for string orchestra. They vary in length from twelve to almost twenty minutes. If you wish to obtain parts, write to debbaut@gmail.com and pay $42 via venmo or $40 via personal check and they will be sent to you in pdf format.

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1183533 Composed by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de St. Georges. Arranged by Robert Debbaut. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. 43 pages. ROBERT DEBBAUT #783206. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.1183533).

Please visit https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=sherry+lewis+publishing for all of the titles I offer. If you can’t find a title then contact me through stringquartet@hotmail.com and I’ll give you the link back to Sheet Music Plus’s listing. VERSATILE Titles that include four parts are written with the idea that they can be performed with 1, 2, 3 or 4 musicians. Most of the contemporary/popular titles include a chord chart for a bass instrument. PRACTICE needs would vary according to the level of the performers but my goal is to be sight-readable for most performers and groups. AUDIO SAMPLE The 30 second mp3 is frequently shortened and may not start at the introduction to get to the reprise. The actual introduction will be in the sheet music. LISTENABILITY I have performed thousands of weddings and special events. I make it a goal for the music to carry as well as possible through loud and large space situations. ARRANGEMENTS usually follow the original version. There is an mp3 where you can hear 30 seconds and get a feeling of the originality of the work. EXCELLENT for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings and recitals. APPROPRIATE for students and schools. CHURCH REPERTOIRE I’m always adding more titles. Thank you for your purchase!

Arte Nova Music Lab #4601825. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742474). Antonio Lucio Vivaldi 4 March 1678 – 28 July 1741) was an Italian Baroque musical composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, and priest. Born in Venice, the capital of the Venetian Republic, he is regarded as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe. He composed many instrumental concertos, for the violin and a variety of other instruments, as well as sacred choral works and more than forty operas. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as the Four Seasons. Many of his compositions were written for the all-female music ensemble of the Ospedale della Pietà , a home for abandoned children. Vivaldi had worked there as a Catholic priest for 1 1/2 years and was employed there from 1703 to 1715 and from 1723 to 1740. Vivaldi also had some success with expensive stagings of his operas in Venice, Mantua and Vienna. After meeting the Emperor Charles VI, Vivaldi moved to Vienna, hoping for royal support. However, the Emperor died soon after Vivaldi's arrival, and Vivaldi himself died, in poverty, less than a year later. Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Vivaldi

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549863 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Classical,Concert,Instructional,Standards,World. Score and parts. 52 pages. Jmsgu3 #3557749. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549863). Beethoven Sonata Op. 49 No. 2 arranged for string orchestra. Duration: 10:15 Score: 28 pages, 242 measures. In two movements. I arranged this for my own beginner orchestra. Easy to rehearse and perform. Very popular with the audience. Sonata Op. 49 No. 2 Arranged from Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 20, this is a simple but interesting work in two movements showing the composers sense of humor. The first movement Allegro ma non troppo and the second movement Tempo di Menuetto are both in the key of G. Both Sonatas 19 and 20 (op. 49, No. 1 & 2) are named Easy Sonatas because they are technically easier than the usual Beethoven Sonatas. This makes them very popular among students and teachers alike. Beethoven Background Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 –1827) was certainly a German pianist. Above all, he was probably one of the greatest composers in history. As a result, he is a pivotal character in the progress between the Classical and Romantic periods. He is certainly one of the most famous and hence important of all composers. Seems like his most familiar and noteworthy works include symphonies 1-9; piano concertos 1-5; and furthermore, the violin concerto. Also, certainly of extreme importance are the noteworthy 32 sonatas for the piano; the string quartets 1-16; the Missa solemnis; and likewise, his only opera, Fidelio. Beethoven Overview First of all, Beethoven was born and consequently raised in Bonn. Upon turning 21 he moved to Vienna probably to study composition with Haydn. That’s when he consequently grew a reputation as a brilliant pianist. Furthermore, he probably stayed in Vienna the rest of his life. In his late 20s it seems like his hearing certainly began to decline. It slowly declined until consequently he was nearly totally deaf probably by the last decade of his life. As a result, he stopped conducting and performing. Nevertheless, he continued to compose. As a result, some of his greatest works probably come from this period. First Period Seems like we often divide Beethoven’s life into three periods. Period 1 begins with Beethoven’s arrival in Vienna. Hence, during this period, he mastered the Viennese style of Haydn & Mozart. He consequently began increasing the size and scale of his works. Furthermore, he experimented with extreme dynamics, and likewise extreme tempi. He worked similarly with chromatic harmony. His First and Second Symphonies therefore belong to this period. Other important works also belong here: the first six string quartets and the Sonata Pathétique, Op. 13. Second Period His second period probably began as soon as he realized that he was going deaf. During this period, it seems like he became obsessed with the idea of heroism. His works consequently become even larger and more massive. The most noteworthy of these include the symphonies 3 – 8, piano concertos 5& 6, 5 string quartets, several important piano sonatas (Waldstein and Appassionata), the Kreutzer violin sonata, the violin concerto and his only opera: Fidelio. Third Period In contrast, Beethoven's third period is branded above all by works of incredible intellectual depth, formal innovation, and penetrating expression. It seems like he continued to expand his works. Consequently, the string quartet Op. 131 spills over into seven connected movements. Likewise, in the Ninth Symphony he adds choral forces to his orchestra probably for the first time in history. Even more, other works from this period include his Missa solemnis, the final 5 string quartets (including the enormous Große Fuge) and the final five sonatas for piano. www.jamesguthrie.com.

RayThompsonMusic #1041866. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1463113). Alternative Title: Concerto à Quattro, in forma di Pastorale per il Santo NataleOften known as his Christmas ConcertoArranged standard string quartet.Giuseppe Torelli (1658–1709) wrote numerous and often imposing symphonies for use in the San Petronio Cathedral in Bologne well before the turn of the century. Furthermore, he was the first composer to write a concerto for solo violin and string orchestra (published at Augsburg, 1698), and his Concerti Grossi Op 8, which appeared in print shortly after his death, are the very first concertos for two solo violins. It is the sixth of these that contains the Christmas music. A solemn ‘Grave’ sets the scene for the Pastorale, marked ‘Vivace’ and cast in 12/8 metre, the two solo violins carrying much of the melodic interest. A meditative Largo leads to another ‘Vivace’ which is a Gavotte en Musette in all but name, its held bass notes strongly suggesting the drone of the shepherds’ pipes. This is my arrangement of the 1st movement.

"This I Promise You" is one of *NSYNC's most iconic love songs and a ubiquitous pop hit of the early 2000's. Originally written by Richard Marx, this song lasted 13 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart after its release, so any child of the 90's probably knows this one by heart! I had the honor of performing this song with Richard Marx himself as part of the quartet-in-residence for his 3-week residency "Satisfied: Only The Hits" at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, so I'm super excited to bring you my own version!<br> <br> This arrangement for string quartet will be perfect for pop concerts, solo & ensemble concerts, weddings, receptions, and any other occasion that needs some boy band throwback nostalgia - you're sure to get everyone singing along! Full of catchy melodies, beautiful layered harmonies, and a laid back R&B-style groove, this arrangement is just as much fun to listen to as it is to play. Rated intermediate - there is nothing very difficult in any of the parts and this chart will be easily sightreadable for professionals, but students might need a minute to look at the syncopated rhythms in the violin parts.<br> <br> Why choose Cellobat Charts arrangements? For any musician who knows what they're doing, the answer is easy: just listen to them. Every freelance musician has thrown hard-earned money away on questionable, error-filled charts by unknown arrangers from weird corners of the Internet. But watch out -- inferior arrangements not only make gigs less enjoyable to play, but they also make your group sound bad to your client and audience, no matter how great your players really are. That's why Cellobat Charts is here: to provide students and working string players alike with high-quality versions of highly requested music. My arrangements are guaranteed to be energetic, fun to play, and enjoyable to listen to, whether or not you're familiar with the original songs. Hear the difference for yourself! Full videos of many Cellobat Charts arrangements are available on YouTube so you know exactly what you're getting. Click "Watch" near the item details at the top of the page for full video of "This I Promise You." Crowd pleasing guaranteed.<br> <br> <br> Sarah "Cellobat" Chaffee earned her bachelor's degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and is now based in Las Vegas. "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" was recorded by Aerosmith for the smash hit 1998 film Armageddon, and it immediately became a huge success. The soulful power ballad debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, where it remained for 4 weeks, and it remains the band's biggest hit to this day; and of course it's still a very popular request for slow dances and weddings. As the cellist for Aerosmith's Las Vegas residency show, I've performed this song with the band over 40 times, so this one has a special place in my heart! This arrangement for string quartet maintains the beautiful harmonic layers, soaring melodies and countermelodies, driving beat, and dynamic passion of the original, for a chart that your audience will love listening to as much as you love playing it! Originally commissioned for a wedding ceremony, this will also beperfect for receptions, proposals, pop concerts, or any other occasion that you need to pull on your audience's heartstrings. Rated advanced intermediate, mainly for a number of tricky rhythms and a few high notes in the violin parts.<br> <br> Sarah "Cellobat" Chaffee earned her bachelor's degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and is now based in Las Vegas. So whether you have 15 violins and a viola, or 3 violins, or 4 cellos or whatever, the pieces will still work well together. All parts are provided for all instruments.Part 5 uses long notes on open strings. The other parts gradually increase in difficulty up to Part 1, which uses first and second positions. The teacher should select appropriate parts for the players in the group.I GOT THE BLUES is the second piece in this series, and uses typical Blues characteristics such as syncopation and swung quavers. String Orchestra - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522248 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Concert,Holiday,Patriotic. Score and parts. 23 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #5017655. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522248). Call of the North is a movement from Colin Kirkpatrick's suite for elementary string orchestra entitled “Atlantic Highwayâ€. Ideal for end-of-semester concerts or any other school or college concert occasion, these tuneful and attractive pieces are bound to please audience and instrumentalists alike. The work is scored for Violins 1 and 2, Viola (with an identical but optional part for Vln 3 in treble clef), cello, double bass and piano (or digitial keyboard). The piano part is not merely an accompaniment but an integral part of music and therefore essential. However, the piano part is not especially difficult and perfectly manageable by the intermediate pianist. All the string parts can be played in first position and there are soli sections for vln 1, cello and double bass. Pizzicato is used extensively in the double bass part and is some of the passages for the upper strings. The piece is in D major with a central passage in G major and the time signature is 4/4 throughout. The string parts have been produced in fairly large type making them ideal for elementary players. Cues have been added where necessary.
